Report failed running from form

Hi,
I am new to Oracle reports.
I am calling a report from a form when a button is pressed The code is like this:
f_alert.display_error_message ('0',v_parameters);
run_report(p_report_filename => '''my_report''',p_show_debug_msg =>'yes',p_params => v_parameters);
From the debuging alert message, I can see the v_parameters value. Using the same parameters I run the report from report bulider, and the report is working. I am wondering why the report cannot be openned from the form. At the status bar of my application, a message shows "Report failed, status is: ", could anyone tell me how to debug this? I am working on an existing application, so I will assume all the configuration is ok.

I'm using Dev10g Rel.2....If I call a report with paramform=no and pass it a value from forms then report runs well. but if I call report thru parameter form and pass value from parameter form the report doesn't run with error:
The webpage cannot be displayed.
Interesting fact is that If I call the report from a client on same domain as that of Application Server then it runs even thru paramform. I've also entered the application server I.P and name on other domain's client but no way. Can u guess whats the problem there???

It sounds like a Firewall permissions issue to me. You might want to have your Firewall admin watch the firewall as you run your form to see if the packets are getting intercepted and blocked.

the first code make the report server work as service could u tell me how the first code work with realease 2 but in realeas 3 not working ?

Here is an example. This is the when-button-pressed trigger. I use the in-process reports server and therefore the web.show_document, but executing the run_report_object is similar.

Report not working from forms.

and application server 10g on os 2003.
we are developing some applications from our developer pc in vista and using developer suite 10g.
we want to generate some reports and call them from forms.

we are struck and unable to proceed.Actually when we run the report from report builder it works.we are calling the report from application server.
Also if we replace the above web.show document with this statement it works but even though it gives FRM-41214 error.

Report not running through Forms menu

Hi Gurus,
In our reports we have used Query PL/SQL to reference cursor. When it is compiled and an executable 'rep' file is created, which when
called through froms menu generates following error and aborts the report.
REP-1401:'qr_1refcurds': Fatal PL/SQL error occured.
ORA-06508: PL/SQL: could not find program unit being called
The same report when called through forms menu, without the compiled version, executes smoothly. Also it runs through report builder perfectly after compilation and generation of rep file.
Would appreciate if anyone can provide suitable guidelines to solve this issue.

is the program-unit you are trying to call, in an external plsql-library ? if so, you have to provide the PLX version of this library in order to use it from a REP file.
however, why are you using the compiled REP version at all ? i would suggest to use the RDF file.

Oracle reports calling problem from FORMS

Guys I've a problem in oracle report calling from Oracle FORMS. I am using reports and forms 6i. When the report name length is more than 30 characters the report engine runs first time correctly but on the second call of report the system gives an error :
" RWRBE60.exe has generated errors and will be closed by windows.You will need to restart the program ".
After this error the report engine closes and i have to call the report again.
Is there a length fixed for reports name in Oracle 6i.
Is any possible solution available.
Remember i dont want to shorten my report names.
Kindly help me with this.

Report format (htmlcss) from Form

I can't seem to get the report to run as htmlcss from a form.
Here is a code snipet:

did you try PARAMFORM=YES .. that should bring up the parameterform.
about the HTMLCSS problem : try UPPERCASE; just a guess. if that does not work, contact oracle support services.

giving URL in IE.
but I want to call reports from form application. in
client/Server model, I used RUN_PRODUCT built-in. when i am
converting to web, i don't know how to call reports from form.
one way is using WEB_SHOW_DOCUMENT. in this case , we can not
pass the Parameter List, as we pass parameter list in
RUN_PRODUCT built-in.
even though we can pass like
report=xyz.rep&destype=screen ....
If there is '&' in the paramtere value , how should we take
care of this. If any one knows solution, please let me know

Run Reports using Run_product tool by passing all the parameters
reqd. for your report and save it as a file in *.pdf format(
recommended) then call the saved report in WeB.Show_document
which will call your saved report .

Reports 9i Printing from Forms with WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT

I want to print a Report from Forms via WEB.SHOW_DOCUMENT directly to the printer and it works fine.
But every time i print it from my web application a new browser-windows opens and shows a message "Printed successfully" or something like that. If I start the printjob again nothing happens - if I press the Browser-Refresh-Button in the new Browser-Windows with the Message ("Printed Successfully") it prints.
So now I have 2 questions:
a) How can I disable the "Printed successfully"-Message
b) What hava I to do that I not must press on the Refresh-Button to start the printing again
I hope I hava explained my problem clearly. 4

For Internet Explorer :
go to I.E General Options screen. click on settings button and choose

Connection Dialog Box Pops Up When a Report is Called From Forms

Hi ,
Some times when calling a report from forms using RUN_PRODUCT, a connection dialog box is popped up. We are using forms6i (Version 6.0.8.8.0) client-server.This behavior occurred on a specific pc while many other pc work fine.
I found a relevant document in metalink (docid:156232.1 https://metalink.oracle.com/metalink/plsql/f?p=130:14:4126992859688402901::::p14_database_id,p14_docid,p14_show_header,p14_show_help,p14_black_frame,p14_font:NOT,156232.1,1,1,1,helvetica ) saying that the database user must have the ALTER_SESSION privilege.In out case user has that privilege through CONNECT role.
Any suggestions??

You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
Reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*Firefox/Tools > Options > Privacy > Cookies: "Show Cookies"
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).

Calling Reports on Web from Forms 6

The problem I have when I am calling Reports from Forms is, if I am calling 3 reports from the Forms the first report called is never shown in the browser while all the others are shown in the previewer.
Is there any property setting I am missing! Please Help!

hello,
please check the DESTYPE and DESFORMAT settings of the report that does not show up. if you do not pass these settings in you parameter-list the report uses the default values set in the report definition. if these are set to DESTYPE=FILE or PRINTER then the report never shows up.

Forms not running from Forms Builder

I am trying to run forms module developed in Forms 10g (10.1.2.0.2) by clicking on Run button (Green Traffic Light Icon) through Forms Builder. It then opens IE browser but doesn't display anything in the browser. All it displays is text 'ORACLE FORMS'. Also, funnily enough, in the address bar it shows the URL as http://127.0.0.1:1330/ and some long character junk string after that. e.g. http://127.0.0.1:1330/23939sdsfsldjwerlerwelj
I am wondering where does the Forms Builder picks up this IP address 127.0.0.1 as it is not the IP address of my PC.
However, if I run the same form by opening IE and entering the URL as http://hostname:8889/forms/frmservlet? , it is running the form perfectly.
I have also entered the same URL in Application Server URL by going into menu
Edit -> Preferences -> Runtime but still it doesn't help.
Any thoughts what's wrong with my Forms 10g ?

I am wondering where does the Forms Builder picks up this IP address 127.0.0.1 as it is not the IP address of my PC.It's your IP address of your Pc.
Check in your hosts file C:\Windows\System32\Drivers\Etc and see if 127.0.0.1
127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain localhost
This will have the effect of
# redirecting any requests to that host to your own computer

1. Develop a simple Form with Buttons.
2. Name the Buttons with your Report Name.
3. Call your report from Buttons(Use Run_Product)

Crystal Report not running from Addon in the Front End.

There is a Crystal report , .rpt File inbuilt in the Add-on .
This report runs well from the Source Code .
But i am facing problem , since it is not Opening at the Front End after registration of the Add0n.

In my system , there is a Addon , which has some crystal Report file inbuilt .
Which run on the Button Click event in the Form at the Front End (SAP GUI).
When we debug the Source Code and pass the event . . Report Open with no hurdle.
But the Same thing when we do at the From END of SAP , then it is not Returning any Report.
