Report field substibution on URL Redirect

I am using ApEx 2.0
I have a page with two report regions based on SQL queries, joined by a common column. The master region is read only and in detail region, I changed the attribute of one field to display as text.
So, for example, the Master region has two columns:
M_COL1, M_COL2
The detail region has 3 columns:
M_COL1, D_COL1, D_COL2
The regions as joined on M_COL1 and D_COL2 is the Text field.
Next, i added a button to this detail region. When clicked I want this button to launch a URL whose parameters are sourced from some of the existing report column/fields on this page.
I cannot seem to get the substitution to work in the URL Redirect field of the button definition.
I want something to the effect of :
http://someserver:port/some_path/something?param1=&M_COL1&param2=&D_COL2
I tried putting #M_COL1#, :M_COL1 etc. but it doesn't work.
Any ideas/pointers?
Thanks,
Manish

Hi,
5. Pop-up reports:
- Go to any report with link column to a form. It is a very common situation.
- Go to the link column Column Attributes/Column Link/Target and change it to URL.
- javascript: popupURL('f?p=&APP_ID.:205:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::::YES','Help','scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=625,height=350,left=25,top=150');
- Replace 205 (It is my page number) with the number of the page which you are working on.
- Apply/Apply/Run the page.
- One would see the printer friendly version of ones page in separate window without loosing original one.
This is a very simple, easy to use and understand example.
One can replace “205” with any report showing Address … for the client.
6. One Master and many Detail tables:
Suppose that there are relations One to Many between one master and two or more details tables.
One can use two regions on a page. One should be a form region for the master table and second one should be a report region with several links.
6.1. Create a view of those two or more details tables. That is one master and one details view.
6.2. Create a Master Details form. The details form should be one of details tables.
6.3. Go to Edit Region (Details Region) and change SQL Query (updatable query) to SQL Query.
The Details form became Details Report.
6.4. Change Report Region Source from details table query to the view query.
6.5. Duplicate columns which are links and reorder them. Replace their header names with “ ” for instance.
6.6. Into Column Attributes/Column Link/Link Text pick an icon.
6.7. Select for Attributes/Column Link/Target “URL”.
6.8. Into URL field type
javascript: popupURL('f?p=&APP_ID.:205:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.::::NO','Link','scrollbars=yes,resizable=yes,width=625,height=350,left=25,top=150');
and replace 205 with the appropriate page number.
Now the page has one form with Next and Previous buttons for the master table and one report for the Details view with two or more links. Pop-up window with an edit detail table form appears when one click on a link (icon).

  • Setting SYSDATE in as URL Redirect

    How do you set an item to SYSDATE in a URL redirect on a button.
    I have list of comma separated items in the "Set these Items" field and a list of comma separated corresponding values in the "With these values" field. If I use SYSDATE then it is literally assigned to "SYSDATE". I tried to_char(SYSDATE) but still doesn't work.

    I usually generate SYSDATE only in row-level triggers on the database tables to capture the insert/update time of rows. I have never needed to do what you are asking for.
    Anyway, see
    http://htmldb.oracle.com/pls/otn/f?p=24317:91
    Click on the Edit icon on the report at the bottom of the page.
    You can select SYSDATE (in whatever format you want) as a hidden column in the report and use #COLUMN# substitution, but as you can see, SYSDATE will be the timestamp on the server when the page was rendered, it will not be the current timestamp as of right now.
    Remember HTML DB pages are generated in the Oracle database server and sent to the browser.
    Or you can assign the current timestamp on the client machine in a link using Javascript Date() functions.
    Hope this helps.

  • IR Report "Link" Attibute Custom URL Escape : (colon) Character

    <h2>I am running Apex 4.0.2 and have an interactive report page 242 with a result set.</h2>
    Scenario
    In the "Report Attributes" "Link" settings I want to link the report to a 'Custom URL' target to take the user from this IR Report Page 242 to page 243 to a 'Single Record Data Entry Form'
    I am setting the value of the custom url target as:
    f?p=&APP_ID.:243:&SESSION.::&DEBUG.:243:P243_NAME,P243_DESCRIPTION,P243_LOCATION:#SOURCE_NAME#,#DESCRIPTION#,#LOCATION#:The P243_LOCATION column, however, has a ':' colon and a '.' values in the database column itself with a value of *'jdbc:Host123.abcd'*
    When the user clicks on the link the FULL location column is truncated before the ':' - OBVIOUSLY due to ':' being the paremeter separator column in apex
    So, the #LOCATION# value on Page 242 IR Report containing a value of *'jdbc:Host123.abcd'* is trunced on the called page 243 as 'jdbc' only and truncated prior to the ':' value contained in the field.
    Question:
    HOW Can I build the above URL so that the ':' can be visible on the Page 243 form field? with the full value passed into the called page with a value of: *'jdbc:Host123.abcd'* ?
    I tried the SYS.htf_esc(#LOCATION#) around the calling URL above, but doesn't work as expected.
    Any advice is greatly appreciated.

    Hi,
    You can not escape colons but you can pass commas in the url. Enclose the item value in \item_value\ to escape the "," in the item value . For colons, I would suggest creating a hidden field in the source report with SQL REPLACE function and replace all the colons with any other character like ||. Then you can use the same replace function on the target page to match with the new item value.
    Hope it helps. Thanks.

  • Is there a way to create a popup to a page in URL Redirect ?

    I have a button (also with a report link column) that is doing a URL Redirect to another page in my app. This works fine.
    However, some pages I branch to are small forms and a popup of that form would be more appropriate.
    Is there any way to create a URL Redirect that redirects as a popup rather than a page navigation? Similarly, can you branch to a popup page with a report link column?
    Thanks,
    Reid

    With your help, I was able to create a popup on a report link column using this:
    I just added an "a href" around it.
    Thanks again!

  • Can You Use A Report Field Value In A Hyperlink?

    <p>I have a report field that I would like to be a link to another application. Making a report field a hyperlink to a web page was nice and simple.  However, I was expecting to be able to use the value of the field in the hyperlink something like...</p><p><a href="http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key={AlertSearch.ALERT_KEY">http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key={AlertSearch.ALERT_KEY</a>}</p><p>...where AlertSearch is the table name and ALERT_KEY is the field name.  Is there a way to use a report field in a hyperlink?  Would using a formula allow it to be dynamic?  The goal is to have each row of the report link to a URL with a different parameter.  I can see eventually redoing it as a drill down feature but the detail I need already exists in a separate application.</p><p>Thanks,</p><p>Ed</p>

    Hi Ed.
    I believe the conditional formula that you would use (don't just type in the text box - press the button for the formula first).
    "[http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key | http://mywebsite/controller?action=servlets.ReportAlertDetailListAction&key]=" + {AlertSearch.ALERT_KEY}
    The key is to use the conditional formula feature of the hyperlink feature.Â
    Enjoy!Â

  • Asigning Reports, specific tables and Url links to the Role

    Hello Gurus,
    could you please tell me the procedure of asigning Reports, specific tables and Url links in the role.actually i know the process of assigning T-Codes to the role but i dont know the procedure for reports and url links and tables...
    i hope u people will respond positively.
    Cheers.......
    srinivas.korva

    Hi Srinivas,
    "i want to add only one particular table not all tables", you can do this using a Custom Transaction Code, the following are the steps to do it:
    1) goto se93, give a unique name, say zxxx
    2)Enter SE16 into the transaction field and select the flag the ‘skip initial screen’ field:
    3)On the lower portion of the screen, enter the following information:
    Name of screen field: DATABROWSE-TABLENAME
    Value: Enter the name of the table you want to browse with
    4)save it.
    5) Now add the transaction zxxx in th role, and assign it to the user.
    With this, when user executes the transaction, he/she will be able to see only the perticular table you added.
    "in PFCG what is the use of Exper mode for profile generation. what is the difference between general profile generation and expert mode profile generation".
    Expert mode has 3 options:
    1) Delete and recreate profile and authorizations---This will completely delete the old profile and add only  the new once.
    2) Edit old status----It will edit the old values
    3) Read old status and merge with new data----This will add the new values aithout actually disturbing the old ones.
    Hope it helps.
    Please award points if it is useful.

  • How do I submit a Report link with a URL for one of the values

    Hi -- I have a Report link on a column, and I want to set an item to one of the report columns which contains URL values (like "http://...."). If I do that, the URL ends up in the hyperlink and is not escaped, so the colon confuses things. How do I get the report column to be escaped?
    Thanks

    You can convert the colon to whatever you like in your select statement but you cannot supply a colon as part of an item value field in an f?p URL.

  • Making dynamic links from report fields

    Is there a way to make report fields link to differnt websites? I can't use the 'link' tool in 'editing' option of making the report because the link will not be the same for each record in the database. The field itself is actually the address of the website I want to be able to link to. So essentially, what I want to do is something like: ..but this does not work. Does anyone know if this is possible??
    Thanks!

    You can use SQL report to do this:
    Suppose the column which contains the web addressed is called url_column, your SQL
    will be something like
    select htf.anchor(url_column, name) from the_table
    Then in the Column Formatting page,
    set the "Display as" for column url_column as HTML.
    Run the report and the values form that column will be a url which links to other web sites

  • Cisco ISE - Not use FQDN in url-redirect parameter

    Hi,
    I am using Cisco ISE Central Web Authentication for Guest Wireless. Clients are redirected for web authentication to: https://ip:port/guestportal/gateway?sessionId=SessionIdValue&action=cwa as it is specified by the url-redirect parameter in the Authorization Profile.
    The “ip” field in the url is now replaced by the FQDN of the Cisco ISE, but I want to use the IP address instead of the FQDN. Is there any way to do that?
    As far as I know in version 1.2 you can use the “ip host/no ip host” command to indicate what you want to use in the URL. However my Cisco ISE is running version 1.1.1.268.
    Thank you very much.
    Joana.

    Available in 1.2, and available as a "bit of a bodge" in 1.1.x  (read "a lot of a bodge")
    If you only have one PSN then you may be able to get it to work, but after that you lose the ability to get the session to be pointed automatically at whichever PSN they hit initially so it would break.
    Copy the settings that are applied when you use CWA, then create your own based on the same settings but using the ip address pasted in there instead.

  • How does ISE choose which IP to put in URL redirect response?

    Hello,
    does anyone know how does ISE choose which IP to put in URL redirect response if it has more than one interface with an IP address and all interfaces are enabled in the portal configuration?
    I have a single ISE 1.3 PSN with all four interfaces configured, enabled, each on unique VLAN, and each with unique IP address.
    In the CWA portal configuration, all four interfaces are enabled.
    Wired clients connect to NAD, NAD sends RADIUS request to ISE, ISE responds with a RADIUS response including the URL-Redirect parameter which specifies the web redirect URL. ISE configuration uses "ip:port" in the URL.
    My question is how does ISE choose which of its four interfaces to put in this URL? Is it always the same interface that RADIUS packets were received on? Or does it always choose the first portal enabled interface? Or is there another logic? Configurable or unconfigurable?
    Thanks!

    ISE uses the first interface enabled for that portal, so if want to use a specific interface, then only enable that interface.  If interface is GE0, then default behavior is to redirect with ip value set to node's FQDN.  If interface other than GE0, then default behavior is to return the IP address of the associated interface.
    Aliases can be configured for each interface using the CLI 'ip host' command to associate a hostname/FQDN to the IP address of a given interface.  When configured, ISE will return that value rather than IP address in redirect.  This is critical if want to avoid certificate trust warning on connecting clients.
    Be sure that certificate assigned to interface includes the correct FQDN or optionally wilcard value in the CN or SAN fields to avoid cert warnings.

  • Optional URL Redirect - choice

    I have a form with 3 check boxes
    1 report 1
    2 report 2
    3 report 3
    I have a button with an optional url redirect
    it's request is (PRINT_REPORT=fundi1)
    but depending on which check box is checked
    I wanted
    PRINT_REPORT=fundi1, PRINT_REPORT=fundi2, PRINT_REPORT=fundi3
    how can i have a choice, Thanks, Doug

    You could have an event off the checkbox that would populate a hidden variable (RptNum) with the fund1,fund2,fund3 values and in your request have PRINT_REPORT=&RptNum.
    Give that a try and see what happens..

    Thanks. One question, what Oracle documentation contains the details such as: document.getElementById
    for one to reference? I thought I used to see a Apex developer manual in previous releases and no longer see it with the recent releases. Please clue me in on what Oracle manual/documentation exists for such programming details.

  • How to do auto URL redirect in sun web server ?

    Hi, i need to do auto url redirect in my sun web server. Currently i'm setup some rules for the reverse proxy in obj.conf file and the syntax looks like:
    <Object name="reverse-proxy-/test">
    <If $internal and $uri =~ "index.html">
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/" uri="/examples/abc.html"
    </If>
    Route fn="set-origin-server" server="http://localhost:8989"
    </Object>
    The situation is:
    1) When users browse "*http://localhost/examples/abc.html*" it will redirect to abc.html
    2) When users browse "*http://localhost/test*" it will redirect to the localhost admin GUI (http://localhost:8989/admingui/admingui/serverTaskGeneral)
    My desire output should be whenever users browse the "*http://localhost/test*" , it will redirect to abc.html page.
    the syntax might be wrong. So, anyone knows how to fix this? I'm keep trying but nothing worked. Please help me.

  • Need help with URL Redirect in Sun Web Server 7 u5

    All I am trying to do is redirect to a static URL and for the life of me I can not get it to behave the way I would expect. I am new to Sun Web Server so I am just trying to use the Admin Console to set this up.
    Here is what I'm trying to do:
    Redirect from - http://www.oldsite.com/store/store.html?store_id=2154
    To - http://www.newsite.com/Stores/StoreFront.aspx?StoreId=2154
    Here's what I tried in the console.
    Added a new URL Redirect
    Set the Source to be Condition and set it to: '^/store_id=2154$' (quotes included)
    Then set the Target to: http://www.newsite.com/Stores/StoreFront.aspx?StoreId=2154
    Then for the URL Type I checked Fixed URL
    When I tested with: http://www.oldsite.com/store/store.html?store_id=2154 it did redirect as desired
    BUT
    When I tested with: "http://www.oldsite.com/store/store.html?store_id=5555" it too got redirected to the Target and I can't figure out how this second URL can satisfy the condition to get redirected.
    Any help is most appreciated.

    thanks for choosing sun web server 7
    it is simpler if you just edit the configuration files manually
    cd <ws7-install-root>/https-<hostname>/config/
    edit obj.conf or <hostname>-obj.conf (if there is one for you depending on your configuration so that it look something like)
    <Object name="default">
    AuthTrans..
    #add the folllowing line here
    <If defined $query>
    <If $urlhost =~ "/oldsite.com" and
    $uri =~ "/store/store.html" and
    $query =~ "store_id=2154" >
    NameTrans fn="redirect" from="/" http://www.newsite.com/Stores/StoreFront.aspx?StoreId=2154
    </If>
    </If>
    ..rest of the existing obj.conf. continues
    NameTrans...
    now, you can either do <ws7-install-root>/https-<hostname>/bin/reconfig -> to reload your configuration without any server downtime or <ws7-install-root>/https-<hostname>/bin/restart -> to restart the server
    if it did work out for your, you will need to run the following so that admin server is aware of what you just did
    <ws7-install-root>/bin/wadm pull-config user=admin config=<hostname> <hostname.domainname>
    hope this helps

  • Set item value at other page via URL-redirect

    Hi, I have a button and I want to open a new window with it using an url-target.
    </br>
    </br>
    javascript:window.open ('f?p=&APP_ID.:143:&SESSION.::NO:143:P143_KDT_ID,P143_MESSAGE:&P140_KDT_ID.,&P140_MESSAGE.') </br>
    </br>
    When I use branching I get an error that there is no page to branch to. I don't understand why. As a workaround I use an url-redirect when the button is pressed, but I'm stuck on getting the current item value into the target page. I tried using $v('P140_MESSAGE') but I can't get the url valid.

    Jacob,
    The problem was that when the HTML for the button is rendered, the value of P1_ITEM from session state was "glued in" to the generated URL at that time. If you then entered a value for the iterm, even though your onChange AJAX technique changed the value in session state it was too late to change the already generated HTML for the button, specifically the URL target for the button.
    I created a Set Item2 button on your page with this for the URL attribute:
    javascript:window.open('f?p=&APP_ID.:2:&SESSION.::NO::P2_ITEM:' + document.getElementById('P1_ITEM').value);
    Let me know if that does what you need.
    There is another problem and I don't know the cause. When you click the button, it opens the new window properly but leaves the original page in an error state of some kind. I could not reproduce this in my application using the same js, so I'll be interested in how you solve that.
    Scott
