Report on upgrade to V40 on XM5800

Hi!
I have an XM5800... Changed the product code to EURO2 because my SFR branded phone wasn't getting updates in time... So I have upgraded to V40. After the upgrade, I decided to reset the phone to factory settings and reinstall all my stuff on it. It went like a charm.
The overall experience with V40 freshly installed is amazing. I love the firmware. Mini keyboard looks and behaves much better. I like the default of bog keyboard when phone is horizontal.
I love the swiping of the screen to answer calls or stop alarms!
Web browser is working nicely.
Sync is perfect.
WiFi and bluetooth work like a charm.
I discovered (but it's also available in V30 that in the Themes->General section you can enable "theme effects" and get a very fancy display. Strangely enough, I don't get these theme effects on the N97 Mini, even though the option to enable them is there too..
My favorite theme is "iMatte DI by dsma" (google for it if you want, it's simple, slick, and very readable).Works on N97 too.
All in all, V40 is a great experience on my already very good XM5800!

Well I also decided to change my product code, as Orange Poland has left me with v21 up to now still. After changing the PC i ran NSU and got the v40 update. Whole process was effortless to run, after the update the only thing that was lost on my phone was the date and time. Not much of a disadvantage if u ask me. All the data I had before was still there after the firmware change. Frankly I do not care much for the warranty given by Nokia, as the level of service and the care centre seems close to the ground, if not lower. It took them 5 weeks to replace my broken headset. I know my local post is not DHL, but I am damn sure it ain't THAT slow.
As for the voices criticising such an approach - I think you take the wrong side. While in the process of getting my phone from Orange I was NEVER informed in ANY way (not even a sticker on the box) that this phone has altered software, meaning I am not actually getting a 5800XM but 5800Orange instead. This practice seen all around the world is approved by Nokia and anticipated by the company. I have one word for it: discrimination. Why should I suffer in having no access to the latest FW? Changing the product code might validate the terms of warranty, but surely not any laws in my country. It is not illegal to change whatever you like in the property you own. I own my phone, i do whatever I like with it. Easy as that.
Last but not least someone here said that if by accident the upgrade went wrong I would be left alone as Nokia Care would not take my phone in. Don't know about other countries, but here I know at least 10 private phone-shops where they would love to take my phone in and fix it, for a price probably lower than at the "official" Nokia Care Service and probably 5 times faster.

My InfoObject Statistical ID is missing in Report after Upgrading from 3.5 to 7.0.
I did comparison of report before and after upgrade and found this issue.
the data content is the same but only this infoObject cannot be seen in the report
how do I correct this issue.

This is known to happen if you modified any of the default reports
I've seen that happening even in my lab (and and customers) where I am sure that I did not modify them. Just delete them (they should be prefixed with "_").

Error in reports after upgrade from OBIEE 10g to 11g : [nQSError: 14025]

Hi All, We upgraded RPD and web catalog from OBIEE 10g to 11.1.1.5. I see the following error while running few reports.
Error: State: HY000. Code: 10058. [NQODBC] [SQL_STATE: HY000] [nQSError: 10058] A
general error has occurred. [nQSError: 43113] Message returned from OBIS.
[nQSError: 14025] No fact table exists at the requested level of detail:
When I add an user under BIAdministrator Application role and login, all the reports work correctly.
I verified Oracle BUG fix (11850704) document and tried to make changes as suggested.
Please suggest me if this issue is related to 10g to 11g RPD upgrade or are we missing any privileges?
Also should I add every user to BIAdministrator role to avoid this issue?

First of all i am not familiar on linux box.
I tried in windows environment the rpd is deployed with out any errors.
But i ran the ua.bat file in the following path
\MWHOME\Oracle_BI1\bin\ua.bat.
while i am running in oracle_common\bin\ua.bat is not responding in my local system.

Cannot find dashboard and reports after upgrading rdp from 10g to 11g OBIEE

Hi all
I am trying to upgrade from OBIEE 10g to 11g. These two products are installed on different servers. I have followed the guide: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/issue-archive/2011/11-jul/o41bi-402913.html and everything seems to work fine.
So i have taken a copy of rdp from the server where was installed OBIEE 10g and took it in the server where OBIEE 11g is installed.
Ran the upgrade tool and upgrade finished successfully. Restarted the BI Servers in core application on Enterprise Manager.
Now when i access the upgraded rpd, the layers and the fields are fine but I cannot find all the reports and dashboards that i had created.
Am I missing any upgrade steps?

Thanks a lot for the information. First of all I would like to inform you that upgrade CANNOT be performed across two machine. So, if 10g installation is on Host A, then upgrade to 11g will be on Host A.
So, in your scenario this is what you can do:
1. On Host A running Forms/Discoverer 10g on Windows 2003, install Forms/Discoverer/Reports 11g (11.1.1.6.0)
2. Run the upgrade Assistant to perform the upgrade from 10g to 11g.
3. Now upgrade OS of Host A to Windows 2008
In short, I would like to inform you that upgrades across machines does not work. Source instance which is 10g and destination instance which is 11g must exist on same box.

Visual Studio 2005/2008 and Crystal Reports versions/upgrade questions.

I've tried posting this question on the MSDN forums and gotten no response.
I've downloaded and installed VS 2008 Beta 2.   The versions on the Crystal Reports files included are 10.5.0.1806
I'm currently using VS 2005, with the included Crystal Reports. The versions on those files are 10.2.0.xxxx. I've created an desktop app (in VB) which stores it's data in a database and uses the CR 10 runtime merge modules to generate a report.
I was considering upgrading the Crystal Reports version to XI. I would like to allow customers to modify my delivered report with their own licensed copy of CR XI. I am not providing any functionality within my app to create or modify the delivered .rpt or use it outside my application.
Questions:
Do I need to update the runtime files to CR XI to support rpt files modified with CR XI? Current runtime files are being delivered with the CR 10 merge module.
I see a Crystal Reports for Visual Studio upgrade to CR XI.
Can I update the merge modules to CR XI and still use the CR for VS2005 for development?
Does it make any sense to update CR for VS 2005? Or to get the full CR XI Developer edition? My usage of CR functionality is very limited.
Would there be any benefit to waiting for the release of VS 2008?   How does that change the scenario?
How does Crystal Reports for Visual Studio fit in with the Crystal Reports Lifecycle? It's not mentioned on Business Objects End of Life Dates page . Crystal 10 has a Patch EOL of 31-Dec-07.   Does this apply to CR for VS 2005? Where does 10.5 fit in?
My main concern is allowing customers with CR XI to change the format of my delivered .rpt to run with my app. Adding their company name, logo, etc.   My testing show a CR XI report still works with my current app. But, going forward, what should I deliver and what do I need to use to continue development?

To use Reports designed in XI, you need to use XI or higher runtime, running them in older versions may work, but you may encounter unforeseen issues doing so.
If you are to use VS2005 for development you need to use XI Release 2 (11.5) runtime.
If you are going to use VS2008 for development you need to use Crystal Reports 2008 with Service Pack 0.
The support end of life for versions of Crystal Reports bundled with Visual Studio are linked to what Microsoft's lifecycle for the product is. Generally if there is a workaround for the issue that is simple enough, there will not be a patch created.
The changes you are expecting the customer to do can be accomplished with our RAS SDK which is available without using enterprise starting with Crystal Reports XIR2 SP2.

Performance Degradation of HR Disco reports after upgrade from 1158 - 11510

Hi there
Has anyone else seen a degradation in performance between 4i and 10.1.2 on apps HR modules? Or indeed not against HR modules.
Following an upgrade from 1158 to 11510 we have seen significant downturn in performance of long standing HR reports. We are using Discoverer desktop in both cases and have a query that is scheduled overnight and usually completed in 2 hours using 4i against the 1158. Now it's taking more like 15 or more using discoverer 10.1.2 against the 11510 environment. We have tested using 4i against 11510 environment and this performs fine, in fact better than it used to in 1158, so it looks like Discoverer 1012 is causing the downturn in performance.
Anyone got anything to share on this??

There is a difference between oracle 9i and 10g database.
If you are using optimizer_features_enable="9.2.0.8" to revert back to the old behavior then you are not utilizing the updated feature of 10g. You are making 10g to follow 9i behavior.
It is just like buying a new car and damaging it to get the feel of your old car.
We had the similar problem, but we fine tune all our queries according to 10g. Main problem was use of rules. You need to either remove those rules or modify those rules.
There are few good documents of 10g performance on metalink. You can refer to that.

No data in reports after upgrade to CRJ

After upgrading from Crystal Reports 10 JRC to Crystal for Eclipse CRJ, we have a few of reports that are returning no data.
Out of 50 reports only 3 do not return data the rest are fine.
We have a jsp page which passes a couple parameters to the crystal report.
The report appears in the browser, however no data is there.
We are passing a date parameter to the report, the report will use this parameter to call stored procedure
in MS SQL database.
I can see the date parameter is passed to the report sucessfully as it appears on the report.
I opened the report in Crystal Reports and tried the following:
1) went to Database >> Verify Database
2) went to Show SQL Query
3) went to Report >> Refresh Report Data ...i got data to appear in the report.

The two things I can think of if deleting the links between the tables fixes it are:
1. Since the report was written in CR 10 or earlier and migrated to the CRJ, maybe it doesn't like something in the internals of the report. There are two things you can try:
A. re-write the report from scratch using the CR for Eclipse Designer or CR 2008.
B. load the current report into the CR for Eclipse Designer and see if it works there.
The CR for Eclipse Designer is different than the CR 2008 Designer in that it uses the actual Java jars to render the report that the CRJ uses. CR 2008 Designer was written in C++ and uses a different rendering engine. This means that in the CR4E Designer, you should see the exact same behavior as your web app, so it'll be easier to tweak the report to get it working, if that's what's needed.
2. Use your database profiler to find out exactly what SQL is being sent. Compare the SQL between the old JRC and the current CRJ. If they're different, does the current SQL return the data you're looking for? If not, and the old one does, then that would appear to indicate that the current SQL engine has something wrong with it and you should open a case to get it addressed.

Error in report after upgradation

Hi All,
I upgraded RPD and web catalog from Obiee 10g to 11g.All reports (in dashboard) are working fine except one report.But when i tried to move to edit analysis for that report,it shows "An error occured while processing your request.please contact your site's Administrator".once i click ok,it showing that "Retrieving data please wait" for long time (more than 20 mins).
will it be a problem of fetching data only for that report?pl tell me a solution to resolve that issue?

In the DC we don't have any build error in webdynpro.We r able to build & checkin properly but while activation it shows this error.
If we try to build this dc in CBS, it shows same error.

Not able to open web analysis reports after upgradation

we have upgraded Hyperion 11.1.1.3 to 11.1.2.2 version, after this process we are not able to open web analysis reports
These reports are still pointing to old servers so, how to edit this database connection details in the new version??

I think we need to change the database connection details in the Web analysis.
goto file --> Edit --> browse the database connection then change the server name in the connection details.
may be this will help to resolve your issue.

Can't Open Reports after upgrading to Windows Server 2008R2

Since upgrading to Windows Server 2008R2, I am unable to use File > Open to browse my network for existing Crystal Reports. I am able to access reports from my recent reports list. If I use Windows Explorer to try to find/open an existing report file, I'm prompted for the installation disk. Is this a known issue? Thanks for your help.

Bug in Inventory Audit Report before upgradation from SAP B1 2004B to 2005B

Sir,
We upgraded SAP Business One 2004B to SAP Business One 2005B on 26/05/2007. Earlier we were having SAP B1 2004 in which therer was no Inventory Audit Report function in Inventory Reports. After upgradation if we take Inventory Audit Report, the closing quantity of the stock is shown is correct but the value for negative stock quantity is wrong for period before upgradation i.e.upto 26/05/2007. The difference is exactly double of the stock value of that item. The closing quantity and value is OK if we run the report for the period after upgradation i.e. from 27/05/2007 to till date.
For e.g.
If we make A.P.Credit Memo for an item qty.20 value INR 20,000/- based on A.P.Invoice and take Inventory Audit Report, the qty.is posted as -20 but the value is posted as INR 20,000/- but actually it should be INR -20,000/-. That is the value is taken twice of the original value.

Problem with KKO0 reports after upgrade

We upgraded to ECC6 10 days ago. At November month-end we ran CO43, KKS1/KKS5, CO88 and the KKRV (data collector). After KKRV runs, we run variance reports in KKO0. The data appearing in our reports does NOT reflect November's data. I'm wondering if KKRV did not run correctly; I know it loads summarization levels that KKO0 reports access, but it doesn't seem to be pulling all of our data for period 11. This problem is holding up our period-close process, so I appreciate any help!

All the dashboard reports were working fine on version 11.1.1.5. After upgrading to 11.1.1.6 i am getting below error
I have followed all the In-place upgrade steps and all were finished without any errors.

After applying patch to make it 11.1.1.6.6 everything worked. All reports working without any issues.

Error in XL reporter after upgrade to PL37

Hi,
I have upgraded several databases from version 2007 A PL30 to PL37, on some databases XL Reporter works fine while on others, the SAPB1 freezes after launching XL Reporter and the following error message is shown "Unable to Connect to XL Reporter, Error! User Identification Failed! Cause :Invalid use of Null". All the databases uses the same password.
Does anyone knows how to resolve this ?
