Report requirements with Average value , forecasting value & Prod Quant.

Dear Friends,
I need a help in Reporting.
The reqirement is like this:
1. I need to display the daily production quantity.
2. Also the Average value of the Production quantity for a month.
3. And the Forecasting value for the first day of next three months.
4. Restricted Cal month on filters with variables and calday in columns and
keyfigure in Rows.
I have tried to calculate the Average but as the report is based on cal day it gives me the average value for all cal days. But i need it for the entire month.
Plz help me in solving this report with your golden ideas!!!

Thanks for your early response.
Actually i am unable to use tcode: KKBC_ORD rather able to use KKBC only.
Using KKBC (Target/actual/production variance) and activating collective order from setting option only able to see the details for a particular leading production order only relating toa particular period .
My requirement is to display all the production orders settled in a particular period along with (Material code /order number/ Qty/Actual value and variance value).
Note: If any leading order exists then that should be collective order i.e.(value and Qty should come against the leading order number).
If there is any standard tcode exists please let me know else provide the tables and logic to bui;d up such a report.

Report Builder 3.0 and Report Parameters with Available Values - do a LIKE expression?

I would like to write an expression based on a @Status parameter that includes the labels you see in the diagram. My problem is that in the field Status - that includes these data results of Issued, Cancelled and Finaled - data entry is not consistent
so I would like to do a like expression for the value - something like this Issued would be "Is*" or Cancelled would be "can*" etc. however I keep getting error statements and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong.

If I understand correctly, you want to use a parameter to filter Status field that starts with “Is” or “Can” or “Fi”. If in this scenario, we can refer to the following steps to achieve your goal:
Modify the available values for @Status parameter to “Is”, “Can” and “Fi”.
Right-click the tablix or dataset to open the properties dialog box.
Select Filter in the left pane, then add a filter like below to filter Status field:
Expression: =Fields!Status.Value like (Parameters!Status.Value & "*") Type: Boolean
Operator: =
Value: true

Vertical report cell with multiple values

I have a database table that looks something like this:
Order_ID Product_Name
.....1................X.........
.....1................Y.........
.....1................Z.........
Right now, when I create a vertical report using one of the provided templates and use groupings the report comes out like this:
Order ID: 1
Product Name: X
Product Name: Y
Product Name: Z
I am trying to create a verticle report that looks something like this instead:
Order ID: 1
Product Names: X, Y, Z
Is there a way to do this by creating a custom report template? If so could someone show me or point me to an example. If not, how would something like this be achieved?

Scheduled Report - Bug with Multiple Selection LOV parameter

Problem:
I have a scheduled report with a parameter that has it's "Multiple Selection" checkbox checked. I schedule the report with multiple values selected. When I receive the report via email, the report ran as if I only selected one LOV value instead of multiple values.
Facts:
1) Enterprise version 10.1.3.2.1
2) When you run the report manually with multiple values selected in the LOV, it runs great with the correct dataset.
3) This scheduled report does not have a Data Template.

P.S. - I searched this forum for other treads on this issue. I didn't find any. Sorry if this is a duplicate.

I have this same problem, too.
When I select multiple parameters on the "View" screen for a given report, everything works fine.
When I schedule it, however, only the last parameter I clicked on (regardless of whether a select a range or multiple individual values) is passed to the query. The other selections I make are ignored.
What gives? Am I doing something wrong? Is this a bug? Is there a workaround?

Report script - using substitution variable with multiple values

Substitution variable with multiple values is not working correctly with Report scripts. Can you please let me know what is the syntax to assign multiple values to a sub variable using maxl:
alter database samp.samp set variable 'ExtractQuarter' 'Q1,Q2,Q3,Q4';
alter database Samp.Samp set variable 'ExtractQuarter' 'Q1:Q4';
I tried both of the above but they are errored out with the below error:
Error: 1001005 - Unknown Member [Q1:Q4] in Report.
my requirement is different for both Actual and forecast data extract so i would like to make use of this variable to extract whole year data for Forecast and current quarter data for Actual with out duplicating the report scripts for both processes.

I would like to create SSRS single select dropdown list parameter (it is using MDX query in dataset) with "None" option at the top. Note: this parameter is dependent parameter and getting filtered based on the selection of another parameter.
How can I add hard-coded "None" text at the top of the parameter values? Can Union function help me to add this hard-coded value? The purpose is, when user selects None from the dropdown ignore the condition of the parameter from MDX query else
use the selected value in query condition.

In your scenario, you can achieve your requirement in report level other than in query. Add a Filter like:
Expression: =IIF(Parameters!Name.Value="None",1,Fields!Name.Value)
Operator:=
Value: =IIF(Parameters!Name.Value="None",1,Parameters!Name.Value)
In this case, report will ignore this parameter, and show all the records on the report when selecting “None” value. I have tested it on my local environment, the screenshots below are for you reference.

Task Total Slack Calculated values mismatching with the values in reporting database

We require 'Task Total Slack' as one of the items in a report for Project Server 2010. We're developing the reports using SSRS wherein the SQL Queries are fired on the reporting database of Project Server 2010.
We've come across a situation wherein the total slack values from reporting database for tasks are mismatching with the values that are seen in either PWA or Project Professional for total slack field. We also could not find a consistent factor by which
the slack is multiplied for reflecting in the database in case the Slack in days was being converted into Hours in reporting databse.
Is there a definite way that these values are being represented in reporting database which is quite different from the way these values are seen in Project Professional? Please help resolving this issue.

Can you give an example of the mismatch? Also you could tell us if this is happening for all tasks and all projects. Your concern may be seen from 2 different points of view:
Either this is indeed a bug with a slack of 2 days for example in Project Pro and 4 days in your report from the reporting DB. In this case, you should check if the projects have been published correctly and if the Reporting DB is correctly sync'ed with
the draft DB.
Or it could be the normal behavior and it is just a matter of finding why. For example, the durations are stored in the DB in minutes, meaning that a 1day duration might be stored as 480 if you have 8 working hours in a day (8*60).

SSRS does not raise any errors with the formula and I have used the same formula for other columns without issue. I have noticed that this column includes null values which I think may be the problem. When the reports runs, it returns #ERROR on the column
but does not give a reason why. I am using SSRS report builder with visual basic logic as opposed to embedding SQL. Any help or feedback would be greatly appreciated.

In Reporting Services, Avg() function is only available for numeric values. In this scenario, the DateDiff() function to calculate the minutes difference will return a number. So we can do average calculation based on the return values first. Then we format

Report -- filter with selection list -- show all values after select page

I have the following problem:
- I have a report
- this report can be filtered with a selection-list
- the selection list is based on dynamic LOV and has a null-value
- I added the code of the report the following, to filter the report after choosing a value of the selection list:
... and (instr(type, decode(:P8_FILTER_type, '%null%',type,:P8_FILTER_type)) > 0)
This works very well.
But my problem is: When the user logs out and the next time, he logs in, the selection list shows " --- show all values --- " (my null-display-value) and the report is empty "no values found".
---> I want to show the first time, the page is selected ALL the values of the report. (this is now only possile if I press the button which belongs to the selection list)

The first time it's probably NULL.
So what you can do in your where: (instr(type, decode(NVL(:P8_FILTER_type,'%null%'), '%null%',type,:P8_FILTER_type)) > 0)
Off topic: I also wonder if that where clause can't be simpler? Do you rely need the instr?

Report parameter is not populated with exact value in stacked column click throughs

I have stacked column chart to show below opportunity data.
Category axis: Month of created date
Series: sales stage
Aggregate: runningvalue of revenue on sales stage group.
data set has below fields.
1. opportunity id
2. created date
3. revenue
4. sales stage.
5. Calculated field: month of created date
I have a sub report which shows the detail information for that month when I click on Stacked column. In order to achieve this i have to pass a report parameter with month of created date(calculated field) on the click action of main report.
This report parameter is not getting populated when i click on the respective stacked column because of which the sub report is failing.
Any thoughts?

Creating a subreport was never an issue, the issue was when I click on the stacked column the parameter (A) as per your screenshot was not getting populated, some times it just passes a null value.
In my report below is the sample data and in Chart
1. Series Aggregate is on Runningvalue of Revenue set to stage scope.
2. CAtegory group is on Month of Created date
3. Series group is on Stage
4. Have a report filter for Year.
Sub report parameter: Month which is passed when I click on the stacked column.
Below is sample data how my data looks like.

Forming a report query dynamically with the value of an item

Hi Gurus,
We wanted to create a report based on the value of an item in the page.
For example
There is a text box named p1_table depending on the value of this item the query of the report should change
1) when p1_table = emp then report query should be select * from emp
2) when p1_table = dept then report query should be select * from dept
I tried doing this using
select * from :p1_table and select * from v('p1_table') , it is not working.
Kindly help me in achieving the requirement.

You have to do this as a report based on a function that returns the query as a string. You build up the string dynamically in the function.

Issue with variable values while adding report to Bookmarks/Favorites

Hello All,
I am able to save the reports from my portal as bookmarks with the appropiate navigation state & variable values for reports which do not have a mandatory value variable with no default value. For all other queries like queries with no mandatory variables or queries containing mandatory variables with default values, this is working fine. Any inputs is appreciated. We are in BI7.0 with SP12.

m working on a report where I want Position values as on date.
for an entered date report should give position value(Amount for transaction) for each class Id.
I m trying using the exit variable but could not reach the output.
For date I created an exit variable which shoud return the latest position for each class Id.
Now this exit variable is "ready for Input" . when I debug my code it takes i_step =3 and i_vanm= " " after i_step = 1 and i_vnam = "<variablename>"
how do I go about to get the solution.
Guide me to come up with desired output.
