Report Writer - Error

Dear Gurus,
I am getting an error, when i copied an existing report and started working on the copied report...
All the old rows have been deleted, except one which when i try to delete gives this error:
KH551 "You cannot delete, because element % is dependent"
Could you let me know what i could do????
Thanks.
regards,
Raj

Dear Raj
There might be an additional invisible formula column in your report. This
column contains the same formula as the visible one.  The problem is,
that you are not able to mark & delete this column (you can't point on
it). For that reason, it's not possible to delete the other columns.
The invisible column is not just a simple hidden column, but a column
which was stored in the past in an unknown way and had never been
displayed with error.  The error only occurs after a specific treatment
of the report and is being passed onto each and every copy of the
report i.e. Copy Report A and Name it as Report B.  The error occurs
however very seldom.
The only symptom of the 'invisible' columns is, you cannot delete the
columns which are being used in this 'invisible' columns as the formula
columns.
Which means, only if you can manage to do the same things as what you
have done previously as to create the report, you'll get the same
problem.
You can't see any formula column in your report, but you are not able
to delete one (or more) of the remaining columns
The only way to trace the 'invisible' column is to debug the report
painter and to identify the internal tables where the columns are
stored. Unfortunately, no other solution has been provided as the
cannot be recreated (other than copying the report).
The easiest way out is to create the report all over again from
scratch.

Siva

  • Toshiba 55VL963 - TV to USB function reports write errors

    Hi,
I have 55vl963 TV with lastest firmware 6.9.MD.1
I am trying to get channel lists and other settings through Hotel clone function.
However, it seems the TV to USB function often reports write errors (or sometimes ends successfully but generates corrupted files).
I tried different USB media, formated in FAT16 or FAT32.
Thanks for any help on resolving this.

Tonny, I'm not sure about my 32RL900A, as I have not had any problem with USB recording, (and have forgotten whether it has its own "Format" function), but suggest that you look in the setup area of your menu, and see if your model has the "Format Disk" function, and if so, see if your model will format your USB stick, and then, if so, use it.
As I said, it has been a little while since I plugged a USB stick in to ours and it has been left in and used a number of times, without any problems, so such things have a habit of being forgotten, when everything is going smoothly!!!

  • Report Painter/Report Writer Error

    Hi Gurus,
When I try to create a library in report writer with a custom Special Ledger line item table ZZFCCA, I get the error
"Table ZZFCCA is not installed in Report Writer.
    Message no. GR493
    Diagnosis:
The Report Writer can only report on tables if the attributes of these tables that are relevant for reporting are defined in control tables. This is not the case for table ZZFCCA."
I would appreciate any kind of help to resolve this.
    Thanks,
    Ram

    Hello,
The answer is in your question itself. You are using customized table, which is not suitable, the properties of this table needs to be changed. Take the help from ABAPer.
SAP Notes 53245 and 37611 may be helpful to you.

  • Error generating report in Report writer (GR214, short dump)

    Hello
We are making a report in GGR2. When generating the report group, we have dump with error:

I have generated as well via GR52 with the same result.
The report i try to generate has about 500 lines, uses a number of existing sets and has simple formulas in it. When i restrict the number of rows to say 400 I donu2019t have the issue. Is there a restriction to rows in report writer?
    Thanks for your help
    Kai

    Hi,
The error you are receiving could be caused by a large number of row blocks in your report definition, (you can check the report definition with report RGRRDC00). A report should not contain too many row and column blocks. It is not possible to give an upper bound for the number of row blocks (since the length of the coding depends on other parts of the report as well). However, even a complicated Report Writer or Report Painter report should not contain more than 50 row blocks, and reports with more than 100 row blocks should not be defined.
In this case the report(s) have to be redefined. Please also refer to the note 387916 for further information regarding this issue.
When there are more than 30 variables in a report, please have a look at the note 332091.
Please reduce the number of row blocks in the report by using the function 'Edit' -> 'Rows' -> 'Explode' in the Report Painter
definition. This function enables several rows to be created for one row block (in the Report Painter definition one row block is just one row). Report Painter (and Report Writer) are designed to display hierarchical reports where the rows in the few row blocks are built up using the 'Explode' function.

  • Error message in report writer when add new selection filed?

    Dear All,
I wanna add a new selection field cost element group and cost element to a report in report writer. I key in GR52 and click the general data selection. I select the set variable &1KSTAR to enter into the set ID. But it shows me the following message:
Set cannot be used in Selection:
    Message no. GR807
    Diagnosis
You are trying to use a set in report maintenance.
The set cannot be entered in the report definition for any of the dimensions for which the set could be used.
The following error message describes why the set cannot be used for all the dimensions for which the set can be used.
    System Response
The set will not be entered in report maintenance.
    Procedure
    Choose an appropriate set.
What does it mean? I have tried other set variables but sitll gave the same message.
    Thank you and good day.
    Emma.

At the same time, it gave me a green light message saying:
Characteristic Cost Element is already used in a row
    Message no. GR465
    Diagnosis
The characteristic Cost Element is already being used in a report row block and therefore cannot be used in a different part of the report.
Technical note:  The field name for characteristic Cost Element is KSTAR.
Does it mean I have used the cost element in the report and blocked the cost element so that I can't use it in the selection screen? How can I solve this by not changing the report or should I change the report?
    Thank you and good day
    Emma

    Regards,

    Hello,
The reason for the error GR215 is that too many data blocks are being
    processed.
The explanation is one of the following:
    - You have variation activated in the report
    - A large group of objects is being processed and the report output
fails due to the large data size
    - the selected data is reaching the technical restriction
Check the SAP note 64537. This note advises you to set the BLOCK SIZE parameter
in the coding to 500000. However, the maximum value possible is 999999. You may -
if you already implemented the coding change of SAP note 64537 - raise the parameter
    once more to 999999.
If the error then still remains the selected/processed data is definitely too much.
Then check the report definition in comparison to SAP notes 317574 and 387414.
    Regards,
    David

  • Intermittent report file write error in process model

    Hello,
We have recently seen a couple errors we have not seen before, that are intermittent.   This occurs in the single pass entry point sequence, the first "write UUT report" step (the non-on-the-fly one).  The error message is as follows:
"An error occurred calling 'Save' in 'Report' of 'NI TestStand API 4.0'
    A file with the pathname 'T:\HTC' already exists.. Error writing to file 'T:\HTC\WING\3WWE\StressTest.seq\StressTest_Report[NO_UUT_SERIAL_NUM13][3 23 37 PM][4 28 2008] - TS2.html'."
So when breaking here, and looking at Locals.ReportFilePath (which is the pointed to variable in the specifiy module of this step), it was indeed defined as:
    T:\HTC\WING\3WWE\StressTest.seq\StressTest_Report[NO_UUT_SERIAL_NUM13][3 23 37 PM][4 28 2008] - TS2.html
So everything looks correct, but it thinks that "T:\HTC" is the entire path.  So the next thing I did, after much confused pondering, was go to the "variables" tab while in break, and add an extra backslash to the part following "T:\HTC" in Locals.ReportFilePath so that the path is now:
    T:\HTC\\WING\3WWE\StressTest.seq\StressTest_Report[NO_UUT_SERIAL_NUM13][3 23 37 PM][4 28 2008] - TS2.html
I hit retry and it worked.  So my question is, if teststand is thinking the "\W" is an escape code, why does it work 99%+ of the time, and suddenly this weird problem?
    Thanks

"A file with the pathname 'T:\HTC' already exists."
This error indicates that there was a file called "T:\HTC" so the report saving code was not able to create a directory with that name. I doubt this has anything to do with backslash escaping anything since there is no expression evaluation involved and \W is not a valid backslash escapable character anyway.
Why you had a file called HTC I do not know, but I looked and that is what this error is for. The Report saving code attempts to create all of the intermediate directories if they do not already exist and if one happens to exist, but is a file and not a directory you will get this error (it is the error we get from the operating system). It is possible there is a issue with the OS where it incorrectly reports this error in some cases (perhaps with multithreaded access), but that I do not know for certain.
In searching for known OS issues I found the following:
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/q268897/
"On the other hand, an attempt to create a new C:\Development\Bin folder through the use of CreateDirectory() will fail with "ERROR_ALREADY_EXISTS". In this case, the API fails when it should succeed."
Although it does sound like it was fixed in a service pack. Are you by any chance using NTFS on Windows 2000 and are not up to date with the lastest service pack?
Also it's possibly an unknown OS bug, what OS version are you using and can you reproduce the problem in a simple case?
Also, just to be sure you might want to make sure nothing is creating a file called 'T:\HTC' in your code.
    Hope this helps.

  • Getting a weird error in Report Writer Report(ABAP Reporting tool)

    Hi Guys,
If anybody has worked on Report Writer Report. Can you help me in this regards?
There is a peculiar problem for the (Column block) .In the Column block there are 3 key figures(Quantity,Local Currency and Group Currency).
Of these in the output of the Report Writer Report the Quantity Column is not getting summed up properly.Though the other 2 columns(Local Currency and Group Currency)are reflecting the proper summed up data.
According to the tables, all of them are reflecting the accurate data. But only for the Quantity column though its reflecting the actual data, but the summation for it is not reflecting the correct data.
Can anybody tell me if we can attach screen-shots for Questions posted in Forums?
Please help me in this regards.

    Hi James,
Thank you for your quick response.
I checked the report and the remainder functions is not being used.
The only formulas being used in the report are the following.
    UpperCase ([1])
    + ", " + - This is set to @name
    {@name} + " (" + + ")"
There are some formatting formulas set on the above values, but other than that, there is a sql query and the "select distinct rows" and "perform grouping on server" is selected.
    Thanks,

    Hi RACES,
Based on your description, I'm afraid that it is not the correct forum for this issue, but maybe I could help you find a more appropriate forum.
If it is related to the Visual Studio Report Controls, you could select this forum:
    https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/home?forum=vsreportcontrols
But if it is the SSRS issue, maybe this forum would be better for you:

  • Report Writer Issue

    Hi Gurus,
I have created report ZTEPCA12 with report writer .When i check the syntex i am getting the error.
The key figure cell ZTEPCA12 has not yet been defined
        Message no. GR687
Can any one please tell me where do i need to define this.
    Thank in advance

    Hi,
Go into GR32, select the report you have created in change mode.  Go to the columns, and view the key figure set.  In there you would have defined a set of key figures, which are basically value fields.
The reason for the error could be that you have entered a key figure set there but not defined the set with the key figure fields or you would not have entered a key figure set in the report itself.
Go into GS02 and enter the set name and include the key figures in the column From value from the table defined in the set.
If the set does not exist then create a key figure set with key figures.
    Cheers.

  • "Drive Reported an Error" message when burning a DVD+RW

    Hi, all!
I am trying to burn a rewritable DVD, HP DVD+RW on my Matshita R UJ 857E and each time I try I always get the following message:
    *Drive Reported an Error:*
    *Sense Key = MEDIUM ERROR*
    *Sense Code = 0x73, 0x03*
This happens with a few RW DVD disks that I tried to burn. The disks are HP disks and they work correctly on a PC.
    Please, advise!

    Hi All
I'm also having problems burning DVDs on my MacBook Pro, no problems buring CDs.
Each time I try to burn a DVD the disc is ejected, often during finishing, and 'medium write error'is displayed. I have tried different media and varying speeds but with no success, Suggestions?
After reading and testing a lot, I am convinced this is a DVD ROM problem. I believe, MATSHITA DVD-R UJ-857E has some problems with some brands DVD+R discs.
I simply cannot figure out what is the reason to go on using those dvd roms in MakBooks after so many problems reported...

  • EMac optical drive: Reads but ceased writing.  I get "Sense key=MEDIUM ERROR, Sense Code=0x0C, WRITE ERROR.  Drive is Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-127D.

eMac optical drive: reads fine but has ceased writing.  One day it's working fine, burning DVDs, then after repeated attempts stops copying and gives the following error message:  "Sense key=MEDIUM ERROR, Sense Code=0x0C, WRITE ERROR".  Drive is Pioneer DVD-RW DVR-127D.  Is this a software issue or is the drive half dead?  Get the same result with either Popcorn or Toast 10.

Are you using Roxio Toast? That error seems to be discussed a lot in the Roxio forums. Scroll down this thread:

  • Report Painter Error

    Hi Everyone,
I am creating a report for profit centers Actual/Plans and YTD .I am using lreport painter and library 0FL which uses table FAGLFLEXT.I defined  some revenue accounts and got the following warning message. When I was creating rows and updating cost elements with account numbers.I set up 3 revenue accounts and then ran the report to see if I get any data for profit centers.I did get data but when I double clicked on one of the account,it displays this messsage.I read the msg. but could not make any sense with it.for example in definning row I put account number from/to  400000- 400000    Explode. and thats a characteristic.
No valid master data for characteristic 'Account Number'
Report MEG1 does not contain any data pages.
No valid master data for characteristic 'Account Number'
    Message no. GR633
    Diagnosis
No valid master data within the specified interval was found for the characteristic 'Account Number'.
    Explanation:
For each characteristic that is processed in a report, the Report Writer optimizes the interval limits which are relevant for selecting data from the database.
    Example:
A report contains the characteristic 'account', for which an account interval from 100000 to 200000 has been entered.  However, if the master data validation shows that the lowest/highest account in this interval is 110000/190000, the selection will be limited to accounts 110000 to 190000 only.
The system returns this error message if no master data exists for the interval.
This error is typically caused by an invalid version.  In FI-SL Special Purpose Ledger, for example, versions are assigned to the ledger and are defined in configuration.  The report definition can then contain a non-defined version.  A similar situation applies to controlling (cost center accounting): here, versions are assigned to the controlling area and fiscal year and can be defined in planning.
Another cause of this error is a ledger that is not assigned to the table for which the report was created.
    Technical information:
The field name for 'Account Number' is 'RACCT'.
    System Response
    The system cancels processing.
    Procedure
Check the report definition, or the specified master data, or the intervals.

    HI Abhijit,
I check the master data for cost element ,its there with cost element category 11. I also checked the  library for field RACCT Account number, its also defined properly. Is that may be related wit version or number interval?? Please suggest.
    Regards
    Shaun

  • I have a MacBook Pro, Matshita UJ-857E while recording music my drive reported an error: Sense Key=HARDWARE ERROR Sense Code=0x03,0x01 I have no idea what this means, and now my cd burner/player won't work. can someone help me fix this problem?

Please Help me. I am having problems with my MATSHITA UJ-857E DVD-R burner/writer. I burned 4 cd's and then it stopped working.
I can select my songs, and then it asks for a blank disc. It starts preparing to write the disc, then it says,"
The drive reported an error: Sense Key= HARDWARE ERROR Sense Code= 0x09,0x01 TRACKING SERVO FAILURE.
Can anyone give me some advice on how to fix it or what this means because I have no idea what it is talking about or how to begin to fix the problem?

This is an error reported by the optical drive's firmware. The tracking servo is the servomechanism which guides the laser pickup along the track on the optical disc. The error means that the servo couldn't do its job within the programmed parameters. What it doesn't say is why.
You have to be very precise as to when this error occurs. If it occurs as you wrote, while it "starts preparing to write the disc", and not when it has actually began to burn, then it's likely that the drive has gone bad and needs to be replaced.
There are other possibilities, so you should check them, but they would be more likely if the error occurred after the drive began to write. OrangeMarlin has suggested two options -- try a different brand of CD or DVD, and try cleaning the lens.

  • Write errors when using non-administrator shared accounts

    Dear all,
we're experiencing an apparently weird issue with our Xserve machines. The entire setup comprises of 4 Xserve, all of them running Lion Server, connected together and to the network of our institution through an Ethernet switch.
I've set up an OpenDirectory master on one of these servers and created several shared user accounts for the various people working here (the /Users folder is hosted on that machine and shared across the other three). Users can access any of these machines via VNC.
A few days ago a guy reported to me that he was getting random write errors when attempting to perform basic operations on his shared user folder (e.g., unzipping a file or running a software which write data on the disk). I had a look into it and found that the guy was right. When attempting to extract a zip archive (which, I'm absolutely confident, is a non-corrupted .zip file) from the Terminal - using his account - a few errors came out, like:
    error:  cannot create pybrain-pybrain-87c7ac3/pybrain/auxiliary/importancemixing.py
    error:  cannot create pybrain-pybrain-87c7ac3/pybrain/rl/learners/meta/meta.py
Every single time I run the unzip command the errors are related to different files.
Weirdly enough, the problem arises only when the user works on one of the three machines that don't host the shared /Users directory. Furthermore, it only applies to non-administrator accounts (if I try to perform the same operation using my admin account everything works smoothly, no matter on which machine I'm working). Promoting that guy to administrator (Server->Users->right click on the username->Edit User->Allow user to administer this server) made the problem disappear. Even more weird, after I removed the flag on "Allow user to administer this server" for that user, he is not experiencing the issue anymore.
What the heck is going on?
    Cheers,
    Fabio

    1.  You can delete the Test1 and Test2 accounts if you log into your Administrator Account. Once in your Admin Account, open System  Preferences > Users & Groups and you will see and be able to delete the Test1 & Test2 accounts.
    2.  Leave your Guest account for, well, guest users.  Do not use it in the normal course of events.  When you log out of the Guest account, all the settings, caches, etc. are wiped, as are all files and folders that you may have saved in the Guest account home folder.  The Guest account is truly designed only for temporary, guest use.
    3.  Leave your Administrator account for use only for installing programs, doing system administration, managing accounts, etc.
    4.  User your named account as your regular account.  It appears to already be a User account.  The primary limitation is you cannot install programs in a regular User account.  This actually helps protect your Mac from viruses and other malware that would need to install software in order to corrupt your system.
    5.  You can turn off the need to enter a password when your computer sleeps in System Preferences > Security & Privacy > General.  UNcheck the option called "Require password for sleep and screen saver."
