Reporting Requirement based on Key Date

Hello Team,
My Requirement is , User is giving a key date & I have to find the Fiscal year corresponding the date keyed in , calculating all the fiscal periods last date & then restricting a key figure with every fiscal year period last date.
To achieve this , I have created a 1 Manual input variable on 0Calday & then 12 Customer exit variables each for last date of each fiscal year period.
Now my issue is as 0CalDay is not mapped from anything from Source.
So how should I prompt user to key in date .
Please suggest .

Are you sure you want to use "Key Date" entry in Query? Because it works with Time dependent Master data only.
If you just want to enable user entry, you can follow Arun Thangaraj 's reply.

FI-CA Open Items based on key date Business Content

Hi,
I am using BI content infocube 0FC_C07 to extract contract account open items data. Our requirement is to do the data load weekly basis based on key date.
I have enhanced the extractor and i can see data for the enhanced fields in RSA3. But now, i am not sure how to load data into BI.
At the infopackage level(PSA level) there are 2 mandatory fields (DateID(LAUFD) and Additional Identification Characteristic(LAUFI)). Do i need to change the date every week manually? I have to create a process chain to automate the dataloads.
Also, i need to use counters for Each unique Contract Account and Contract Account Document .
For the contract Account Document number , i am thinking to us this formula(If contaract document item =1 then document counter =1 otherwise 0). But i am not sure how to count each single contract Account?

Go to InfoPackage selection tab.
Now in the Type select 6 which is for ABAP Routine.
This will open the ABAP Editor.
Write your code there.
Sample code.

Open orders display in BEX report based on Key date

Hello All,
I have a requirement:
We have an existing report which needs to have input selection as Key Date.
The report should display the Open orders based on the key date mentioned.
For Eg: if an item A was Opened on 20th Sept, 2010 and now CLEARED and if I run the ECC report today and mention the key date as 20th Sept, 2010, then the report will show me the item A status as OPEN
Plz help me with the logic for the same at the earliest

Hi Sneha,
I assume you have open and crear dates in your query. So put an open date in your query filter and restrict it as less then Key date variable(which is a variable of type user-input on 0calday), then create another variable that feeds from keydate variable (it can be a replacement path or simplest user-exit).
Note: the another variable is needed because as far as i can remember you cant use the same variable to restrict two different chars in the same query/anyway test if it's not possible - then create another variable as i mentioned.
Take Cleardate in your query filter and restrict it as more than keydate variable andr # (not assigned). (in case if it hasnt been creared at all yet at the key date time)

Crystal report -Subreports and BW key date

Hope your in good spirits, we had to install the SP 7 on bw for our webi reports to work, i have an issues here with Crystal reports
I need to develope a crystal report with two BEx Queries as Data Sources, I suggested to use Subreports, where the promts of the reports can be linked, but i have a Keydates in these two Bex Queries which are poping up as two parameters when i run the report is there any way that you can link those to key dates,where the user can enter for one key date Parameter and the value is passed to the Sub report Key date parameter, please help me

did you manage get the solution, i also want to know how to share date parameter from subreport to main report?

Fixed report period based on current date

I want to create a report containing records over a fixed period without using a date parameter. As a example I would like the report to continually draw on data that is no more than say ten years from the current date.
E.g. Current date (xx/xx/2008) to (Current date - 10 years) or xx/xx/1998 then next year the formula would automatically adjust to current date (xx/xx/2009) to (Current date - 10 years) or xx/xx/1999.
I am only a novice when it comes to designing reports so please bear that in mind.

Create a RecordSelectionFormula and subtract 10 years from the current date with the DateAdd formula.
E.g.
//DateAdd (intervalType, nIntervals, startDateTime)
{Table.Date} > DateAdd ("yyyy", -10, CurrentDate)
The DateAdd function has more interval types, so you can subtract months, days, hours as well. Check the CR help file and search for DateAdd for details.

Report Requirment based on different Balance sheet type

Hello Experts ,
                          As per our client requirment we have created a Standard financial statement report using   0FIGL_VC1 and using datasource 0FI_GL_6 , Now as there are four type of balance sheet define in S_ALR_87012284 transaction in ECC R/3 in special evaluation tab ,these are
1          Standard financial statement
2          Flow of funds analysis
3          Balance sheet accounts like type 1; P+L accounts like type 2
4          Opening balance
We are giving report only for "Standard financial statement " , Now our client require all other report with 3 remaining balance sheet type . Can any body tell me how i can provide the report based on Balance sheet type . or how i can create diiferent report based on balance sheet type defined in S_ALR_87012284 . Please suggest me the best possible way to do this .

G/L Balance based on Key Date

Hi,
I have a requirement to make a G/L ledger.
Currently i want to get the g/l balance based on a particular date.
ex: 12.05.2008 to 15.05.2008
How can i find the keydate balance.
I think there is no direct way to do that. Want some suggestions on workaround.

I know. Above 2 are not used for G/L accounts
Third one will get period balances only.

A/r Invoice report query based on posting date selection criteria

Hi experts,
I am trying to write a query to get the A/r invoice report including Docnum, Docdate, cardname, project, linetotal, taxcode, taxtotal.
and i tried the below query
SELECT T0.[DocNum], T0.[DocDate], T0.[CardCode], T0.[CardName],T1.[LineTotal] FROM OINV T0 INNER JOIN INV1 T1 ON T0.DocEntry = T1.DocEntry WHERE T0.[DocDate] >=[%0] AND T0.[DocDate] <=[%1]
In this query ,
1) i am unable to sum up the linetotal( total before tax)
2) also unable to fetch the sum of taxamount.
3) its more important , the above query will me docnum , when i try to open that doc, it opens the 2007 docments. whereas the other details are correct like docdate, amount and all.
example:   from date: 1/04/2011    to date: 28/07/2011
Docnum    Docdate cardname   linetotal.... etc
    2              1/04/11   XYZ              5000
when i click the 2 (docnum) it opens me the 04/04/2007 documents.
how to limit the doc within the periods given?

i have selection criteria as T0.[U_Sec_Category] = '[%2]' and this has 3 values like 1)CIM 2)BIN 3)DMP
among these CIM should be seen only only user1 and BIN & DMP only by user2.
can u plz get me this

I have to create a report in which it should show me the daily quantity produced and the average quantity of the given month.
In report it should show me the daily produced quantity for the given month and the average of the month.
as this is a web template requirement i need the report as shown below.
For ex : Cal month     01/01/2007 02/01/2007 .......31/01/2007
quantity                           100        110                 80
Average                             -
         100
When i tried to create a report it shows me the daily average but i need only the total average.
Can some one help me as this is my daily issue i need to solve it before deadline please!!!

P6 Report - Filter based on activity dates

Good morning,
I'm working on a report that should include all the activities in a project that respect the following condition:
Finish date > BL1 finish date + 3 months
As i can see I can compare a date with a standard date variable (Earliest project start, Latest project finish etc...) but i can't compare two date attributes.
Is it possible to define new date variables?

Can I pass parameters from a dashboard via a dashboard prompt and presentation variable to publisher report based on a data model with select statements in OBIEE 11g ?

I have a publisher 11g (v 11.1.1.7) report with a single parameter. The report is based on a data model not a subject area. I created a dashboard put a dashboard prompt and link to the report in separate section on the same page. The dashboard prompt sets a presentation variable named the same as the parameter in the report.
The problem was when I created the dashboard prompt, it forced me to select a subject area which I did (though did not want to) and then I created both a column and variable prompts. But clicking on the
report link completely ignored the value that I thought would be passed in the presentation variable to the report.
Side note : My report uses a pdf template for its layout where I have mapped the columns names from my data model to the form fields on the pdf form. I noticed that if I create a publisher report based on a subject area, then I do not have the choice to choose a PDF as a template type for my layout. (I only see BI Publisher Template as a choice).
I see some documentation online that suggest it could be done in 10g.

Ok,
I just tried that and it still doesn't pass anything to the prompt.
I changed the prompt to an edit field and I made the following weblink but when i click the link from an account it doesn't put anything in the prompt and all data for all accounts is shown.

Pass Key date from Sender to Receiver Query

Hi,
We have a requirement to pass key date from the sender query to receiver query.
In our sender query we derive the key date based on the calendar month value entered by the user on the variable screen and this is used to determine the hierarchy structure to be used for report.
The user have the option to drill down to detailed query (using RRI) from the context menu option. We would like to use the same key date in the drill down query as the sender query. The drill down query does not have any variable selection.
In RRI settings I can not see the way to pass on the key date.
Any help is appreciated.

Yes, we do not have variables in the receiver query as we expect the settings in RSBBS to pass the filter values to the receiver query and which is being done consistently.
The problem is that we do not have any option to pass key date. If required we can add a customer exit variable but how will it work if the user does not want to enter the variable values for the drill down report.

Reporting on Time Dependent Master Date Info Provider

Dear All.
We have a info object Employee which is time dependent master data containing all the information with time dependency, when i create the query over this info object it give me the option to select the key date and it show the accurate information which is lying according to the key date.
my requirement is to show all the records in the report which are there in master data but i am not able to show more then one record cause of the key date, can you please let me know how can i show all the records for any given employee id in the query.

By standard if you create query directly on time dependent info object, it would display the active records as of the report execution (if no key date has been provided). In any case you can only see one record per the info object key, not the history.
In order to fulfill this requirement, you may need to create infoset on this infoobject and select "date from" and "date to" as part of infoset fields.
Then create bex query on the infoset and drag the "date from" and "date to" also into "rows" section of the query (apart from infoobject key, time dependent attributes). This will let you see the history of changes to time-dependent attributes of the infoobject.

Key Date variable; Interval in query properties for Time Dep. Masterdata

Hi,
I've been searching on the forum, and I think I know the answer already, but still I'd like
to ask you all whether it's possible to create a Key Date Interval variable to be used in the query properties.
As far as I can see you can only report by a single key date used in the query properties field for time dependant masterdata, but my customer has asked me to investigate the possibility to enter a date range.
As all masterdata is time dependant I don't see how this would work, but if someone can shine a light on this maybe there is a solution available?

I had an idea for a workaround.
If you can create master data compounded with Valid from and Valid to both of these characteristics , how the query is computing
the keyfigures.
Every change in valid from or valid to is unique for the system in this case.

Hi Aarthi,
This is relevant for the time dependant master data that is being pulled in thw query. Like if you are using a nav attr in the query and this nav attr is time dependant, then which record (from the char master data) is to be pulled into the report, depends upon the key date that you specify.
The default key date value is the date on which the query is executed, that is <Today>.
