Reports generated with null data

Hi,
I setup a role which has read access to all records under different tab corretly. However, the reports are displayed with null data. Any idea?
Thanks VK

Hi Bobb,
"Role-Based Can Read All Records" equal to No in my configuration. Requirement is not to allow report creation on others data.
So, if I make it Yes, then they can access all data in CRMOD and create report. Please let me know if my understanding is correct.
Thanks VK

Set up steps so inset, update or delete operation takes place across the servers.

  • Gantt chart with null dates

    Hi,
Kylie discovered here that you couldn't have null dates in the project gantt query
APEX 4.0.2 Project Gantt Chart - Error Code: 2002 Message: Empty input
As Valentina suggested, I found the actual dates are mandatory, while the chart tolerates missing planned dates - which is a complete reversal of what actual project data would have.
baseline project gantt with parent-child relationship
What I found though is if some planned dates are missing, the generated XML seems to default with data from previous rows.
As detailed in this screenshot, my red lines indicate missing from/to dates (actual data also shown underneath chart)

    Hi Ahmed
    Thank you for your reply.
The time scales in Gantt chart specifically shows the year, month and weeks from the start date of project definition or basic start of WBS.
Since it is not a decided project, the Gantt chart need to show 0, 1st week, 2nd week, 3rd week etc.
The actual schedule from PD start date can be produced on actual initiation of project.
It means, i am looking for having Gantt chart for duration and not for specific start and finish dates.
    warm regards

  • Bug: when fetching arrays of rows with null data values

Using Oracle ODBC Driver 8.01.73.00 or 8.01.74.00 (called
8.1.7.3.0 and 8.1.7.4.0 on the Oracle downloads page).
When fetching multiple rows, and where some of the data is null,
the the indicator variable quite often (but not always) has
    incorrect values.
Is this a known bug? This seems like something that lots of
people would encounter so I find it hard to understand why it
    hasn't already been fixed.
Also, how do I report this as a bug to Oracle? I couldn't find
the place on the site to do this.
    To reproduce:
Create the following data in Oracle
    create table null_test
    item_id number (10, 0) not null,
    data1 number (10, 0) null,
    constraint null_test_pk1 primary key (item_id)
    insert into null_test (item_id) values (1);
    insert into null_test (item_id) values (2);
    commit;
When you run the code to print out indicators and values, you
    get this output
    4: 1 -1:
    4: 2 0:-858993460
The code to do this is as follows (put in your own values for

We get this problem too. We do a large fetch (200K rows)and find
that not only do the null indicators report incorrectly, but the
data for the nullable column is corrupt as well.

  • Region Report reloading with wrong data

    Hi all,
I'm having an odd problem with APEX that I'm hoping somebody could help with.
I have a region report containing 30 text fields, VALUE_1 to 30. The report contains several Validation rules and when submitted with no errors it works fine. However, when any of the Validations picks up an error, the page reloads as expected with the inline error text showing fine...but the text in the VALUE_7 field has been copied into the VALUE_17 input field (so both fields are displaying the same text). The data in all of the remaining cells displays fine. I've checked all of the obvious report and column attributes but can't see anything wrong and I'm happy that the copied data in the VALUE_17 field is not coming from the database.
Can anybody point me in the direction of things to try? Can a report become corrupted or are there known report issues with my version of APEX? (v4.0.2.00.07).
A large amount of Googling hasn't shown any similar problems.
    Many thanks,
    ~H.
PS: Apologies for the username, the Preferences option refuses to admit that I've changed it!

    Hi Hinden,
Is your report based on a table or a collection? Normally if it is based on a table the report would revert back to the original values of the table, when you first went to this page, if the validation fails. If it is based on a collection then you need to check the code where you fill up your collection, my guess is you insert the wrong values there.

  • Forms Service generated pdf null data

I'm using the Visual Studio project from the livecycle blog (http://blogs.adobe.com/livecycle/2008/01/invoke_livecycle_with_visual_b.html) to merge the sample purchase order (PO.pdf) with xml data.
lcFormsResult.outputContent.remoteURL comes back with a valid url, which I can open in IE to view the pdf. However, I would like to get the binary data and display that instead, but lcFormsResult.outputContent.binaryData is coming back as Nothing, likewise with blobRenderPDFForm.binaryData. Any idea why this might be or how I can get the binary data?

The BLOB type is used to represent the com.adobe.idp.Document object in WSDL. The BLOB type is used to send/return the data to/from the LiveCycle server via the following ways: <br /><br />(1) Base64-encoded string passed in the BLOB.BinaryData field.<br />(2) MIME or DIME attachment with the attachment id passed in the BLOB.AttachmentID field.<br />(3) Web hosted resource addressed with HTTP URL passed in the BLOB.RemoteURL field.<br /><br />Sometime back, the default way for result BLOBs has changed from (1) to (3). The reason is that the SOAP Reply message is much smaller this way, as it doesn't include the actual Document content. <br /><br />If you still want to get the data as base64 encoded string in BLOB.BinaryData field, then you will have to update your code to enforce the base64-encoded way. <br /><br />To achieve it, the service SOAP URL must be appended with a special "?blob=base64" postfix. Here is an example of how this can be done in C#:<br /><br />EchoServiceService service = new EchoServiceService();  <br />service.Url = <br />"http://<host>:<port>/soap/services/EchoService?blob=base64";<br /> . . .<br /><br />Here is a Java example:<br /><br /> EchoServiceServiceLocator locator = new EchoServiceServiceLocator();  java.net.URL url = new java.net.URL(<br />     "http://<host>:<port>/soap/services/EchoService?blob=base64");<br />EchoServiceService service = locator.getEchoService(url);  <br />. . .<br /><br />Thanks,<br />Mayank Gupta

  • Column chart with null data items

I have a Column Chart with an ArrayCollection data provider.
The data will sometimes have missing items in some "rows'. For
example, it might look like this where the second object has no
    "Male" property:
public var myData:ArrayCollection = new ArrayCollection([
    {School: "Priorford", All: 95, Male: 92, Female: 98},
    {School: "Giffnock", All: 87, Female: 89},
    {School: "Hastings", All: 80, Male: 78, Female: 82}
Sometimes I get the following error:
TypeError: Error #1009: Cannot access a property or method of
    a null object
    reference.
    at mx.charts.chartClasses::NumericAxis/mapCache()
I'm assuming the error is because of missing data items, but
I'm not 100% sure. Some data sets with missing items will display
with no error. I can't see a pattern to those that don't.
-- I can't produce the error when using a "static" data
source set in the Flex app itself (such as the example above).
These always display correctly, even with missing items.
-- In the problem case, the source data comes from a MySQL
database through a PHP script that is called with a Flex
httpService. The returned data is parsed in Flex, and put into the
ArrayCollection. I was suspecting that the returned data was flawed
in some way, but the same ArrayCollection displays correctly in a
DataGrid. The problem is only with the Chart.
-- I can work round the problem by adding the missing
properties and setting them to an empty value. But I don't think I
    should have to do this.
Has anyone seen this problem, or know of any obvious thing I
    might be doing wrong.

    Thanks Arthur.
Your first suggestion is effectively what I'm doing as a
workaround. But it is a bit of a pain to have to account for this
each time when displaying a chart. It's a particular problem when
you don't know in advance what "categories" might be returned by
the data and that have to be charted.
My biggest concern is that this looks like a bug, and the
fact that it seems to occur intermittently is a bit worrying. (I
also know that eight out of ten reported "bugs" are user error,
which is why I was wondering if anyone else had experienced this.)
About your second suggestion, I think the interpolateValues
    property only applies to lineSeries.

  • YTD report generated from excel data yielding incorrect results

I am trying to generate a YTD report from the data present in an excel sheet. However the result is coming out to be incorrect for YTD sales
The data sheet looks like this.(SaleDate is in *3/14/2009 format).
SNo     manufacturer     date     # of CarsSold
    1     Hyundai     1/2/2010     10
    2     Maruti     1/2/2010     15
    3     Hyundai     1/14/2010     11
    4     Maruti     1/14/2010     15
    5     Hyundai     2/1/2010     10
    6     Maruti     2/1/2010     13
My logical layer consists of the following 3 tables
Manufacturer Dim table with only 1 column 'manufacturer'
Date dim table with only 1 column 'date'. Additional derived columns in this logical table created for YTD calculations are as follows:
    CALENDER_YEAR_NAME---- EXTRACT( YEAR FROM testdata.TimeDim."date")
    QUARTER_OF_YEAR------- EXTRACT( QUARTER_OF_YEAR FROM testdata.TimeDim."date")
    MONTH_OF_YEAR----------- EXTRACT( MONTH FROM testdata.TimeDim."date")
    CALENDER_QUARTER_DESC------ CONCAT( CAST (testdata.TimeDim.CALENDER_YEAR_NAME AS CHARACTER ( 30 )), CAST (testdata.TimeDim."QUARTER_OF_YEAR" AS CHARACTER ( 30 ))) ////appending year name to month name for uniqueness
    CALENDER_MONTH_DESC------ CONCAT( CAST (testdata.TimeDim.CALENDER_YEAR_NAME AS CHARACTER ( 30 )), CAST (testdata.TimeDim.MONTH_OF_YEAR AS CHARACTER ( 30 )))
After that time dimension was created with the following levels.
    timedimtotal
    year
    quarter
    month
timedimdetail-Chronological key has been specified at all levels of the time dimension created for YTD calculation. The key at the lowest detail level was specified as 'date' column. At the upper levels it was CALENDER_MONTH_DESC,CALENDER_QUARTER_DESC,CALENDER_YEAR_NAME etc
Fact table with 1 column '# cars sold'.The fact table is joined with both the dim tables by complex logical join. Sno has been ommitted and not used in any of the logical tables. Sale YTD column was created in fact table using todate function(year).
The result am obtaining if i run the report today is:
    CALENDER_YEAR_NAME QUARTER_OF_YEAR MONTH_OF_YEAR # of CarsSold SaleYTD
    2,010 1 1 51 51
    2,010 1 2 23 46
As you can see YTD for month 2 is coming incorrect it should be 51+23. This is jst test records and the same difference exists even if i run against my actual excel sheet
    I would like to know:
    1. Is it right to run YTD report against excel sheet as I checked for the query beign generated by answers, and its firing a lot of functions like Quarter name and monthname etc which i am not sure are supported by excel for answers.
    2. If i am going fundamentally wrong somewhere in this entire approach as i am new to obiee and chances are i might be missing something important.
    Would highly appreciate your help
    Regards
    Himanshu Hira

I have another solution and that is to actual discard the result before you get to the report stage.
You can do this by use of the Override Callback SequenceFilePostResultList and if Skipped then discard the result from ResultList.

  • Report Output with Key Date

    Dear All,
I have the following fields in DSO.
    Key Part: EmployeeID, DateTo, DateFrom.
    Data Part: Designation, AnnualSalary.
I have data in the DSO as follows:
    EmployeeID DateTo        DateFrom      Designation AnnualSalary
    1                 12.11.2008 01.01.2008    Worker        10000
    1                 31.12.9999 13.11.2008    Officer         20000
    2                 14.11.2008  01.01.2008    Worker        10000
    2                 31.12.9999  15.11.2008    Officer        20000
Now If I give key date as 13.11.2008.
The Output of the Report should be like this:
    EmployeeID Designation AnnualSalary
    1                 Officer         20000
    2                 Worker        10000
How can I achive this ??
    Cheers,
    Neel.

    Hi,
I think you can achieve this by using a formula with boolean operators "is less than" and "is greather than", and then also use row/columns settings and/or conditions to suppress rows that does not contain the key date.

  • 10g Reports issue with XML Data Source

    Hi,
Has anybody ever encountered an issue with Oracle 10g report using an XML as the data source? What happens is, some of the values in the XML are printed to the wrong column.
One of the elements in our XML file is a complex type with 10 elements under it. The first 5 are picked up properly, but the last 6 are not. Elements #6 to #9 has a minimum occurence of 0. What happens is when element #6 is present, but #7 is, the value for element #7 is passed on to element #6.
The XSD and XSL files are both valid since the reports were working when we were still using 9i. There is no hidden logic in the report which might cause this issue to come up, i.e., the report just picks up the values from the XML and prints it to the appropriate columns.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Difference in the appearance of HTML vs. Standard reports generated with the Report Generation VIs?

If you look at your html source the spaces are there. The problem is the way html is rendered it removes the spaces. You will either need to add in <pre> </pre> tags to tell the browser to include those spaces, or insert the string &nbsp; which the browser interprets as a single space.
    Regards,
    Steve
OK, thanks. I guess I'll end up living with it the way that it is because
using either method seems to also have the side effect of causing the output to become double-spaced and
the only reasonable place to implement the change (so that it did not also impact the "standard report" output) would be within the report generation VIs and I'd rather not be modifying them.
