Reports Output in MULTIPLE Languages..

Hello -
We have a customer with operating locations in China, Japan and USA. They are OK with using the application (Forms, Java etc) in English. But they have few Customer facing reports (Invoices, Statements etc.) that need to be printed in the local language (Both DATA and Labels).
So it is NOT just labels but also the data (right, even the item descriptions, styles, color) etc needed to be printed in Local Language.
I know one way we do this is by storing the data in multiple languages (Items Descriptions, Colors, Styles) in a table. But I am wondering if there is ANY Dynamic conversion utility that can be used at the report run time that can convert ENGLISH to local languages before printing.
Any suggestions?>

Hi Norman,
We have Siebel 8.0.0.8 implemented in ENU and FRA. I have an XLIFF for each language. However , when I run the report from the French application, the report generated has all the labels show up correctly in French. However, the LOV values still show up in English. If I set the Language Code parameter in the XMLP Report Server component to FRA, then the French LOV values show up in English and French reports.
How do I get the correct LOVs to show up on the correct language reports. Any ideas ?

    I think it's not possible to show all field values in another Language (Eg Thai) But it's possible if it's short Text, Long Text etc
    SE63 and follow menu
    Translation
    ABAP Objects
    Short Text / Long Text Etc..
    AND
    Translation
    NON ABAP Objects
    For that also you have to maintain it first in SE63..

  • Single report's output in multiple language (EBS R12)

    Hi,
    Many of us would be aware that customer invoices are sometimes generated in their preferred language which may be different than our langauge.
    For example we are using English but customer always need their invoice in German/Spanish/Portugese etc.
    Now our invoice creation XMLP program will generate receivable invoices for all the customers in an Operating Unit through a scheduled batch program. This batch program may pick any number of customers with any preferred language if their invoice is ready for printing. This means that program may select 10 invoices to be printed in 10 diffrent languages.
    We can create our localized/translated layout templates to print invoice in diffrent language. But my question is how to ensure that program prints 10 invoices each in diffrent language using correct localized/translated layout in a single run?
    As per my understanding in a single run of a concurrent program, we can attach only one template of a particular language-territory combination.

    Our system has to generate an Invoice per day.
    This Report is printed fine for single day.
    But our users have 2 requests:
    1. To print all the invoices for 1 month
    2. To save them to file.
    At least printing will do for now.
    The problem I got is pagination.
    When I made Month&Year as parameter and user selects 2001-OCT
    to print all invoices in Oct,2001, the Report is unable to print one invoice per page. In between the layout is rolling over to multiple pages.
    Is there a way I can control pagination or any settings?

    Hi all.
    Can we design a template such that the excel output is populated into tabs?
    Otherwise, do I need to write 3 templates and define 3 layouts to show in three reports instead of tabs.
    The user doesnt want to run the report thrice(selecting layouts). Instead, he would like to run the report once . is there any way that I can merge these three templates into a single rtf document such that it gives output in 3 tabs.

  • BI Publisher bursting report Output stores in which table

    Hi gurus,
    I need to develop a functionality where in need to cut report output into multiple pieces based on the customer/invoice.
    Like if i generate Pdf output of XML publisher report, then I need to cut again this report as per invoice number related to customer.
    I know that bursting does this part and emails out. Based on the group it will trigger those emails to customer. Here i want to capture all those invoice wise pdf files into any clob custom table, which i will create. But I am not aware whether this files will be stored any else in the server of Oracle applications.
    I want those pdf files need to be stored in to my custom tables else if already stores where can i find that information.

    1. click on Edit.
    2. This brings to a screen where you see templates defined for your report.
    3. On the Right Hand side, one will 'View Thumbnails' and 'View s List'. Click on 'View a List'.  Please make sure Excel output is part of outputs enabled for the template and also is the default output.

    I remember Portal(first version and WebDB prior to that)
    perfectly saving a Report as File even if the Report output
    spans multiple pages.
    Now I am using the latest version of Portal and I am unable
    to save the Report to file when the Report output paginates to
    several pages.
    It always saves the First Page of Report.
    Please throw light through any form of Solution.

  • CMS crash with core files and multiple report output generation

    Happy new year to everyone,
    Our BOXIR3.1SP6FP2 env has recently started behaving weirdly by triggering multiple output to users inbox and email notification out of scheduled reports. Also we have noticed the CMS crash with core file (almost 4GB) generation at the time of multiple report output.
    Most of the times, CMC crashes and recycles itself. At few times, CMS services alone went shut down.
    OS details: RHEL 5.5, 32 GB RAM, 8 core processor on each of the clustered node, Oracle 10GR2.4 CMS DB server, 11GR2.4 oracle reporting DB server and oracle 11.1.0.6 client.

    1. CMS breaks at threshold of 3.9 G.
    2. CMS DB sits in a different Linux server than BOE server.
    3. All core files were generated by boe_cmsd process and are almost 4GB in size (same as max threshold which it breaks).
    4. Shell script which I've added in the BOE servers shows that the CMS DB is available/connecting at the time of CMS crash.
    5. SAP analysed the Core files and skeptical about the below lines.

    We have a Web I report built based on universe(Oracle DB- Utf-8 codepage), In Data base tables there is a data with multiple languages. But when I run Web I report it is showing the data which is in english but data other than english is showing inverted "?". Could any one please suggest me how the data to be supported in all languages for the Web I report.

    You should be creating a universe using the table with filter utilizing a column which accepts a parameter value of language and shows the data in that specific language. This concept is already used in SAP standard audit universe which accepts language for any query and shows the data in that language.. The logic for the derived column for the table should look something like below Table.LANGUAGE = @Prompt(Select language)

    Hi Kumar,
    It's not that report be written in multiple languages. The coding is normal and all that you have to do is, create text elements, selections texts and messages also normally as you do regularly.
    As per your requirement, in order to display your report in multiple languages, all that you have to do is maintain translations to all the above texts. You can do this from the same report in SE38.
    GOTO-->text elements. Here goto --> translations. Here you will find all the texts. You maintain the required translations here.
    You can also maintain translations for any given object like function modules, reports, dictionary objects etc from SE63.

    I am working on 11i to R12 up-gradation process.
    I need to move some reports from 11i to R12 and resolve bugs which report faces after shifting.
    I am working on one report of output type : PDF named 'Delivery Note Report' in SCM-Order Management,
    It is a RDF with template report and not XML publisher(there is no separate RTF).
    RDF template is prepared with English text.
    In 11i report output comes in EN-US(Standard English) language
    whereas in R12 it is coming in Kenyan language.
    I need to set output language to default EN-US, how can I proceed ?

    I checked user preferences : it is set to EN-US
    I checked concurrent program language details : it is American English
    I got to know about a file named : uifont.ali (present in middle tier /ora/R12/apps/tech_st/10.1.2/guicommon/tk/admin)
    it contains PDF:subset section in it we can specify the particular language/font in which we want output of our report.
    I tried replacing this section with default language and restarted report server, even I tried removing that file from middle tier(just for testing purpose).
    Can anyone suggest any other approach as still the issue exist.

    10 different languages for my 4 reports.  I only want english.  I would think that like any other sccm report I can just delete the others I won't use, but am concerned since this is a component of mbam and it might be expecting those reports
    as "placeholders" for that data.  Can I just delete the folders for the unneeded languages?  Additionally I am getting an error when launching the reports when the window for the report opens it has at the bottom of the report:  ERROR:
    the mbam policy view does not exist.  I am assuming this is because not all the components have been installed in the mbam environment as of yet.  We are upgrading from mbam 1.0 and I am doing the sccm integration piece.  I realize the monitoring
    server needs to be installed, the policy template also needs to go somewhere as well, so  suspect this is expected behaviour with only the sccm integration piece involved so far.  THanks!

    It's more of housekeeping issue.  I am going to have to delete that folder anyway as right now I am connected to a test database and will need to uninstall mbam and reinstall it when they are ready to point to a different database after testing is
    complete.
