i have 3 question hope to find an answer to them soon
first i created this report where there is grouping on 2 levels and then created a formula column now am trying to order by this formula column but it is happening what shall i do i used the break order property but it didnt work
second the report displays info from database in database it is for example "C+"
in the report it is displayed "+C" how can i solve it
last i created this formula column that returns a number with a decimal and then multiply it by 100(to get a percent) but instead it returns a number approximated so it displays 0 although that it is much higher than that (am not using round)

So now you have grouping at three levels and only dummy column is in the last group. You don't have to show or create a repeating frame for this dummy column/group. You order by on formula column should work now. There is one restriction: (from the reports builder's help)
"A formula column that depends upon a summary column cannot be a break column and cannot have Break Order set."

i just get a black screen with the pc-mouse on the screen. Is it the harddrive that is broken and needed to be changed or is it something else that cause this problem?
Could be you have a drive with advanced-format technology. See if you can introduce a new driver during the restore process.

Windows XP and PDF Reports Trouble

Hi,
We have Oracle 10g Application Server up and running.The application we r using generates some reports in pdf format but our clients ( running windows XP and Windows 2000 Server) have trouble viewing PDF reports generated. There s no problem with clients running Windows 2000 Pro.Xp clients trying to generate the report gets no error messages printing the report on the screen,application seems to work properly but the client can not get the report that should come up in a pop up window in PDF format.
Any help will be appreciated.

Hi,
The fact that your Windows 2000 machines are able to display the reports while the Windows XP machines cannot points to a Windows configuration issue and not a problem with the Reports server.
All I can suggest is you compare the security permissions between the Windows 2000 machines and the Windows XP machines and see if you can find a difference.

Generate Report Troubles with Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer

I'm new to Captivate 5 and am trying to utilize the Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer.
I've enabled report for my project to Acrobat.com and configured as instructed in the online help. The Post Result button appears on the Summary page and appears to work for the two colleagues taking the quiz. But when I click the Generate Report button in Adobe Captivate Quiz Results Analyzer, I get the message "Data is not present on local file system, downloading course data," but nothing occurs - no course data appears from the colleagues who are helping me test the quiz.
I'm able to sign in to the Quiz Results Analyzer and it does display the organization, department and course name, but no course data (see image below).
What am I doing incorrectly that keeps this from generating a course report?
Any help will be deeply appreciated.

Your solution worked at first. I went in, took the course, and then went into Analyzer and was able to Generate Report and look at my stats. However, I had a colleague take the course. She did and posted the results and received a "successful" posting message. Then, I went back into Analyzer and clicked the Generate Report button to see how the system worked when there was new learner data. A "Checking for new data" played for a half hour before I finally gave up.
I know that you were able to reproduce this issue where in clicking the Generate Report a second time brings up the loading animation that stays forever and that you were investigating the issue, but I thought I should post here just in case anyone else has a solution.

Trouble upgrading to Busy Cal 2?

I have been trying for a week to upgrade from version 2.5.4 to Busy Cal 2 version 2.6 on the Mac App Store and it is not working. I get error sign messages that the Store is having trouble (try again later) or just nothing happens. Busy Cal Support reports troubles, but they say it is the Mac App Store's issue. Any one else experiencing this and found a solution?

You can download iTunes from here:

You need to save the installer file on your desktop. When you are prompted to Run\Save, choose save.
Then you run the installer, iTunesSetup.exe, from your desktop.
If that doesn't work, it may be necessary to manually remove iTunes before reinstalling, but I won't go into that unless you need to do it.

New Airport Extreme and iPhone Issues

I've had the networking day from ****. I previously had a 3rd Gen Time Capsule at our restaurant, connected to a Cisco 26port gigabit POE switch and Comcast digital voice and internet. Over the past few days, employees have reported trouble accessing the the Wifi network. After several restarts and firmware upgrades (including the dreaded "firmware problem" to fine update), nothing worked. I changed channels, back to auto, back to specific channels, back to auto. Made open guest networks. Nothing worked consistently. My iPhone might connect and my friend's might not. Nor his laptop consistently. Our Axis network cameras might take a bit extra time to connect. All quite random and quite frustrating.
So I swap out an older Airport Extreme (4th gen I believe) using the same configuration as the TC (Time Capsule). It works fine, except for the last port not working as expected. No matter, I plug the mac mini into the Cisco switch and off we go. Nevertheless, I'm still told we are suffering random Wifi issues. So I buy a brand new AE (5th gen) today to replace that one. Should work like a charm I thought. Right....
Several hours later, I finally have the new AE working, but only after doing several hard resets/factory restores, the works. For some reason, the mac mini could not successfully update any of the connected AEs - whether connected directly into the same AE, or if the Mini was connected to the switch. Nothing worked. Every time I tried to update the AE, it would hang and force me to unplug and plug it back in. It would also never save setting changes. I finally resorted to a friend's macbook to be able to restore it successfully. And once that worked, the mini was able to update the AE flawlessly. Our Point of Sales (POS) machines connect fine, our cameras connect fine, wifi printer connects, and the mini connects, and everything has internet.
Except my iPhone 5. Of course. It gets a signal fine (full bars). It gets an IP address. But I can't surf the web. Or download email. Or iMessages. Anything. No internet access. I try hard restarts on my iphone. I try assigning IP addresses by MAC address. I try resetting the AE. I try renaming the WiFi name. Nothing. I can make a guest network that works (on a different IP table, btw - 172, not 192.) But other than that, no access. Grrrr.
So I have a "working" AE router where some devices successfully connect (through wifi and ethernet) and some dont' (wifi iPhone). My iPhone connects fine to my home TC. So shouldn't be anything to do with that. But I'm at a loss. I'm going to go back and restore everything and power cycle everything tonight or tomorrow night. I don't know if that will help, but it's worth a try. Lord knows it feels like I've tried everything else.
Anyone have any good ideas of where to start besides voodoo dolls and baseball bats?

I took mine back, because I was having these very same issues. We use contivity too. I was able to connect only to one of three of the servers we manage (in Europe). I couldn't connect to the servers in Asia or here in the USA.
Replaced the Airport Extreme with my trusty old d-link 624, and no issues connecting to any of the three hubs.
Otherwise, I liked the Airport Extreme, and I'll consider buying it again when and if they address this VPN issue. I work at home so its obviously a "deal breaker" for me.

Mail does not allow signed message with .Mac certificate

Hi all,
until a few weeks ago, I was able to send signed or encrypted message with my .Mac account and .Mac certificate. Both of them are still valid, and I can still read all messages I sent as encrypted and/or signed, however, Mail does not show the two buttons to crypt and/or sign emails. The certficate seems to work to encrypt iChat dialogs as well.
I repaired my Keychain, looked at how certficates were configured, everything seems normal to me.
Any clue ??

Well, it seems that we've come across something finally.
In comparing notes, my friend (who is currently able to sign and encrypt messages) and I were comparing notes on our respective certificates. In doing so, he pointed out that he'd noticed a difference in the PURPOSE of my cert versus his cert.
His cert shows the following purposes:
1 - Client Authentication
2 - Email Protection
3 - Apple .Mac Identity
4 - Apple iChat Signing
5 - Apple iChat Encryption
Whereas mine only shows these purposes:
1 - Client Authentication
2 - Apple iChat Signing
3 - Apple iChat Encryption
Another thing I noticed while comparing his cert to mine after he pointed this out...his cert is due to expire at the end of October. Mine, on the other hand, was created this past Friday.
Now, from what I understand, these certs expire one year from date of issue, unless they are revoked earlier. So, I suppose the big question to everyone else out there that is having trouble with using their .Mac issued certificates is "When did yours get renewed?".
I'm suspecting at this point that somewhere around the end of June the certificates issued by Apple for iChat signing suddenly stopped having the "Purpose" of mail protection. It would also seem that they suddenly stopped having the purpose of .Mac Identity.
Now I'm curious why Apple would do this, make it actually relatively easy to create a cert that could be used for iChat and Mail encryption, then suddenly take it away. Is this actually what has happened here?
I'd be really interested in seeing what the renewal dates are and the corresponding "Purposes" are for many of the folks that are reporting trouble with this very issue.
If you are one of those people who had mail encryption working using your .mac certificate, and it suddenly stopped working...feel free to post your cert information here.

Wireless stopped working after blue screen crash. Please help

Hi am desperate
I was working on vista doing some graphic job when suddenly the screen turned blue with some message and a count down like thing. After a while vista rebooted fine but since then my wireless is not working anymore.
I checked my device manager and everything is fine over there, driver installed correctly. But when i try to click on the power on button nothing happens and its not connecting or detecting to any wireless network.
Then i try to uninstall the device from device manager, as soon as the uninstallation was done, vista installed it back. I checked the power button again and it worked this time. The window opened up and i could see the avaible networks to connect to. As soon as i clicked on any one of them. Some service crashed and i got this

What i noticed is that the MAC address of the card was something different before the crash and after the crash its just FF:FF:FF.....
The card is physically connected to the PC i my guess is that is fine.

Beige G3 Tower no longer boots

Hi, I took a look through this forum and found a few people with the same problem, but unfortunately their solution didn't work for me. I was wondering if anyone could help.
I have a Beige G3 266Mhz PowerMac that no longer wants to boot. No post, no beeps, no video, no power light on the front - just a hum of the fan. The memory is 3x128MB DIMMs, I've upgraded the VRAM to 6MB. I believe the ROM is "$77.40F2" (which is "A" I believe?). I can't confirm the ROM since I can no longer get it up and running. Everything else is stock (6GB hard drive, personality card, zip drive, CD-ROM).
The problem:
When I hit the power on the keyboard or on the front of the Mac I can hear a fan startup (power supply fan), but nothing else.
I have tried the following:
resetting the CUDA
bought a new battery
did the PRAM trick
reseated all the cards, memory
reseated all cables
removed upgrades (VRAM and memory)
tried a different power supply
No luck. I'd like to get this box up and running again if possible, but I'm running out of ideas. I thought I'd post it here to get some advice on the problem.

Do you know if a faulty "voltage regulator" would produce these symptoms?
Steve, you can't rule it out now that you seem to have arrested and released the usual suspects. The voltage regulator modules (VRM) that were in question were those marked "Royal." The reported trouble happened when you installed a processor upgrade, a G4 I think. However, if a VRM didn't have the moxie to handle an upgrade, it could say something about its ability to "age gracefully."

Also, make sure the personality card in the PERCH slot is fully seated and square to the logic board. If it tips up slightly, it can cause a dead computer.

My iPad New camera won't focus when taking a picture or video!!

Today I bought the iPad New. Camera started acting up at once!! Everytime I try to take a picture the camera will not focus making all of my pictures blurry. What can I do to fix this? Anyone else experience this issue? Camera on the front of the iphone works and focuses just fine, however the back camera will only take a clear picture if you're like 6 inches or less away from the target. The tap to focus feature doesn't do anything for it.
Is that hardware problem or not?

I had not seen that. It appears several people reported trouble, but no solutions.
Yes, I am sure that being out of focus beyond six inches is a defect.
There is another problem that you may encounter which is due to noise appearing as grain when there is not enough light for a useable picture. The "cure" would be to turn on more lights. The same thing might be true for focusing, which also requires enough light to function. See if it works better outdoors with daylight illumination.
Other unusual problems that have been reported for the iPad 3, have responded to a reset (reboot) of the iPad. Hold both the Home and Sleep buttons for several seconds until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the "Slide to power off" arrow. The iPad will restart after a couple of minutes. Resetting this way will not hurt anything, and sometimes clears up mysterious problems.

Thinking of giving up BT TV as it's not fit for pu...

Just a month ago i reported trouble with my BT youview box and the blocking / freezing with the box putting up messages banner that signal is bad and code ipc2063 ...BT did reply to this and it took a few days to fix a network performance and for about 3 weeks i had a OK service. ....BUT I now having the same troubles on all the channels on BT. ....sadly I gone over all the rebooting to the Hub5 and the Box yesterday and still **bleep** viewing with so many breaking up in an hour and sometimes minutes that is worth me getting on the phone line again and go through all the trouble of reporting and in few weeks doing it all again? ?????

Okay I have now phoned BT and told them the trouble and they was nice and helpful and done the same thing of testing the line and then phoning back to say that was ok just as the tests i done and then the hub5 reset then youview box switch off / power off at plug switch then 10 second wait to switch on then reboot and then checking out the channels then he said that he would send a text message and if i still have troubles to text back and someone will phone me after reading report to what has been done. So we see how long this last after this.....

Email an iWeb page

I want to email a page (with video) that I designed in iWeb. I opened the page in Safari and e-mailed the page from there - neither the iWeb graphics or mp4 video came through. Amy ideas?

In the "In Concert" page the white portions extends way below the content. What is the Content height shown as in the Inspector/Page/Layout pane?
It's loading now for me in Safari. Don't know why it didn't before. Are you using iFrame code and an HTML snippet to add the movie? Do you want to movie to be shown without the controller displayed? Without the controller the viewer cannot start or stop the movie. If they are knowledgeable they can do it with the space bar.
Finally got to where I could email the page with the video in Safari. Emailing to myself it came thru with the video playing as it should.
What platforms were reporting trouble with the email? Windows? Macs?

Can't sync a blackberry with the new Macbook

I'm asking a question for a friend of mine who bought the new MB. She can't get her blackberry to sync using either pocketmac or missing sync. She's been talking to folks at Apple stores and pocketmac, and they've said it's a known hardware issue. So far none of the updates have made a difference. I haven't seen any posts about it here, but am wondering if anyone is aware of a solution.
