  • Help: Sending HTTPService request using POST to a php script

    Hello all,
    I need help in learning the proper method of communicating to php scripts from flex 3. I am very new to flex 3, php and web development. Thanks!
    What I am trying to do is as follows:
    1. User drags and drops a few items in a list control
    2. user clicks a button to send these keywords to server php script
    3. server will form a query based on the words sent and retrieve records and send them back
    Here is what I have done so far:
    1. When I send a request to server without any parameters, I amable to receive the request and query the database and send results in xml format
    current issues I am facing:
    1. I am gathering the list of entries in list control as follows:
    <*** this function is callled when user decides to send request to server ***>private function startsearch():void {
       var i:int;
       var myAC:ArrayCollection = ArrayCollection(SelCtypes_id.dataProvider);
       var nct:XML = new XML("<contenttypes></contenttypes>");
       // add contenttype child now
       for (i = 0; i<myAC.length; i++) {
        nct.appendChild(XML(<contenttype>{myAC[i].toString()}</contenttype>));
       var params:Object = new Object();
       params.contenttypes = nct.toXMLString();
       getsearchresults.send(params);
    <*** my http service entry****>
      <mx:HTTPService id="getsearchresults"
       method="post"
      url="http://localhost/search_xml.php"
      result="handlesearchresultsXml(event)"
      contentType="application/xml" />
    This is what I see in flex debugger just when the request is sent out:
    -> just before gersearchresults.send(params) call:
    params.contenttypes = "<contenttypes>
      <contenttype>AVI</contenttype>
      <contenttype>SWF</contenttype>
    </contenttypes>"
    <*** within the HTTPrequest send function, I see th following in debugger ***>
    message.contentType="application/xml"
    message.body = paramsToSend shows "<contenttypes>&lt;contenttypes&gt;
    &lt;contenttype&gt;AVI&lt;/contenttype&gt;
    &lt;contenttype&gt;SWF&lt;/contenttype&gt;
    &lt;/contenttypes&gt;</contenttypes>"
    This looks like my XML object is again formatted by an out <contenttypes> tag and the string is converted to be HTML safe (i.e. &lt, &gt notation).
    It looks like I am not doing something right with my params formation to XML and HTTPservice is reformatting it to be some form of XML (I do not know XML well either :-)
    My questions:
    1. What am I doing wrong?
    2. If there is a good example where I can send multiple parameters from flex client to php server and get data back where the request parameters will beof the form...
    <query>
    <type1>
         <type1val>value1</type1val>
         <type1val>value2</type1val>
    </type1>
    <type2>
         <type2val>value3</type2val>
         <type2val>value4</type2val>
    </type2>
    </query>
    Thanks for your help!

    Hi, I'm having a problem with a similiar issue :/
    I'm getting the error #1010 (A term is undefined and has no properties):
    at flexGraph/httpResultHandlerUserInfo()
    at flexGraph/__userInfoXML_result()
    etc.
    I removed some parts of the code so it's easier to read, if you can help me. I'm trying to populate a datagrid with info from a database, according to the alias I choose in the ComboBox. I get the error when I pick an alias from the ComboBox.
    <mx:Script>

              usersInfo = event.result.users.user;
         private function chooseUserCB(event:DropdownEvent):void{
              userInfoXML.send();
    ]]>
    <mx:HTTPService id="userInfoXML" url="http://www.mysecondplace.org/flex/userInfo.php"
    result="httpResultHandlerUserInfo(event)"
    useProxy="false" method="POST">
    <mx:request xmlns=""><alias>{usersAliasCB.selectedItem.alias}</alias></mx:request>
    </mx:HTTPService>
    <mx:ComboBox id="usersAliasCB"
    x="10" y="10"
    labelField="alias"
    close="chooseUserCB(event)"/>
    <mx:DataGrid id="testing"
    x="10" y="100"
    dataProvider="{usersInfo}"/>
    Here's an example from the PHP file:
    $query_user = "SELECT * FROM users WHERE alias='.$_POST["alias"].'";
    Help me please

  • Rdvdp - easy dvd ripping script

    rdvdp is a script I wrote to make backing up DVDs to x.264 simple and fast. It uses handbrake and dvdbackup
    What I wanted was a simple bash script where I could pop in a dvd, run the script with no special options, and come back 45min later with a nice x.264 rip. the other task I wanted the script to handle was being able to rip a dvd with episodes on it (tv shows, etc.). rdvdp handles both cases with ease.

    Forgive my ignorance but I'm trying to compile dvdbackup but am unsure of the libdvdread directories. The install instructions are:
    Compile dvdbackup.c in the src dir like this gcc -o dvdbackup -I/my/prefix/to/libdvdread/include -L/my/prefix/to/libdvdread/lib -ldvdread dvdbackup.c
    From what I can gather is libdvdread 'includes' reside at /usr/include/dvdread and the 'lib' is in /usr/lib but this doesn't seem to be working. Any help or knowledge would be appreciated.

  • DHCP request at system startup via shell script

    Hi all,
    I administer about 120 macs and a couple of weeks ago the network admin changed the ipv4 network and the dhcp-leases, -ranges.
    My macs do not get an ip address when they start up.
    It takes about one minute until the request is succeeded.
    I am about to write a shell script that starts a dhcp request over the network.
    I want to use the same command that the network system pref (Renew DHCP Lease) uses.
    I read the bootpd, xinetd, lookupd manual but I am not sure wich one is the correct deamon to use.
    Someone can help?
    Thanks in advance
    Cheers Thorsten

    Seen the ipconfig yet?
    http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Darwin/Reference/ManPages/man8/ipconfig .8.html
    Two ways to renew a lease in Terminal, adjust your enNUMBER accordingly...
    sudo ipconfig set en0 BOOTP;sudo ipconfig set en0 DHCP
    sudo ifconfig en1 down;sudo ifconfig en1 up

  • Old transport request for sap script (form)

    Hi,
    I want to find the old transport request for the sapscript(form). Just now it has been over written by the latest CTR. So i need to transport the old one.
    How to find out the old transport request.
    Thanks,

    Try giving the script name in OBJ_NAME field in table E071 and then execute and it will give you a list of all transports. You can sort it in descending and see the order of transports.
    Thanks,
    Srinivas

  • Cdrip - my cd ripping automation bash script

    Some time ago, I wrote a bash script to automate the ripping, encoding, and organization process for my cd collection. I hadn't used it in a while, but recently `axion asked to have a copy, which led me to realize that it was broken in bash 3. So I rewrote it, incorporating some new ideas I had.
    Similar projects, like abcde, act more like a frontend for specific tools, whereas CDRip can use any tool at all. You can even set it up to automatically perform filters using sox, burn backups of your albums, or upload files to your jukebox server's ftp once the ripping is complete.
    Anyway, I ended up starting a project on sourceforge, including some nice documentation for configuring the script, and I thought this is a perfect time to make an Arch Linux package!
    PKGBUILD
    pkgname=cdrip
    pkgver=0.5.1
    pkgrel=1
    pkgdesc="An extremely customizable CD ripping script. Looks up album info with FreeDB. Supports any cmdline ripper, encoder, tagger, etc..."
    url="http://cdrip.sourceforge.net/"
    license="GPL"
    depends=('bash' 'wget' 'cd-discid')
    backup=(etc/cdrip.conf)
    source=(http://dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/cdrip/$pkgname-$pkgver.tar.gz)
    md5sums=('d0eda52556b321e6b4070a95c82b783e')
    build() {
    cd $startdir/pkg
    mkdir -p usr/bin etc
    mv $startdir/src/$pkgname-$pkgver/cdrip usr/bin
    mv $startdir/src/$pkgname-$pkgver/cdrip.conf etc
    chmod 755 usr/bin/cdrip
    chmod 644 etc/cdrip.conf

    i used rip for my ripping encoding when i was using linux for ripping.

  • Trying to deploy a batch or powershell script unsuccessful

    I've deployed a .cmd file out that contains a WMI script to uninstall all instances of an application called "VirtViewer". The script looks like this:
    taskkill /F /IM remote-viewer.exe /T
    wmic product where "name like 'VirtViewer%%'" call uninstall /nointeractive
    exit /B %EXIT_CODE%
    Previously, I had used MSI product codes for the uninstall, and got the same result. My original problem, is that there are currently 9 different versions of this app out there, so i am ripping them all out and replacing with 1 version. Installing over an
    old version does not overwrite the older one, it instead installs a new instance.
    Reading through the execmgr.log on the client, everything looks as it should.
    The end result, is that nothing happens. I had originally set the program to run as hidden, but then changed it to normal but still do not see it run. The application is right where i left it, untouched. If i run the script locally it works fine, but not
    when deployed. Am i missing something??

    I just tried using powershell to accomplish the same task, and got the same result. Script ran fine, but nothing resulted. 0 errors in the execmgr.log on the client.
    Program options:
    Command Line: Powershell.exe -executionpolicy Bypass -file .\VirtUninstall.ps1
    the powershell script looks like this:
    $app = Get-WmiObject -Class Win32_Product | Where-Object {$_.Name -match "VirtViewer*"}
    $app.Uninstall()
    exit /B
    Again, the script runs great when launched locally, but not wehen deployed

  • [SOLVED] EurKEY PKGBUILD request for comments

    Hi, I just finished a PKGBUILD for EurKEY "European Keyboard Layout". It installs and removes fine on my system, and I took care to respect the packaging standards, but before submitting it to AUR I would like to get any comments/suggestions.

    'sed' and 'awk' are neither build nor run-time dependencies, both are install dependencies, but I did not find a proper option for that.
    The (un-)install-scripts are taken from the Debian source, however with deb-packages it is obviously possible to abort  pre/post_remove on failure (here used if the keyboard layout is still in use => no uninstall). I did not find a proper way to accomplish this with PKGBUILD install scripts.
    Both scripts a rather long, but in other review requests forum veterans preferred to have scripts posted here instead of a link to AUR or pastebin. If it's nevertheless wrong I will relocate the scripts.
    Thanks in advance.

    If you still want to modify the XML, I would use xmlstarlet instead of awk/sed. I haven't tested the following scripts so they will probably need some debugging but they should give you a general idea of what I would do.
    The post remove script would be reduced to:
    set -e
    # xpath selector to select layouts that are named eurkey
    xpath='/xkbConfigRegistry/layoutList/layout/configItem/name[text()="eurkey"]/../..'
    for file in /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/{base,evdev}.xml; do
    [[ -f "$file" ]] && xml ed --inplace -d "$xpath" "$file"
    done
    And the post install script would become:
    set -e
    xpath='/xkbConfigRegistry/layoutList/layout/configItem/name[text()="eurkey"]'
    for file in /usr/share/X11/xkb/rules/{base,evdev}.xml; do
    if [[ ! -f "$file" ]]; then
    echo "File $file is not a regular file (skipped)"
    elif xml sel -t -c "$xpath" $file >/dev/null; then
    echo "File $file already constains eurkey (skipped)"
    else
    echo "processing $file"
    xml ed -P -L \
    -s /xkbConfigRegistry/layoutList -t elem -n layoutTMP -v '' \

  • Problems by getting info out of XML file with a HTTP request

    Hi,
    I have a litte question. I'm working on an application that works together with google maps. In my java code, I get general information about address out of one database table, and I want to add some geographic information like coordinates that I want to retrieve from Google Maps through HTTP:
    Right now my code is like:
    while (resultSet.next())
                             title = resultSet.getString("title").replaceAll("'","''").toUpperCase();
                             author = resultSet.getString("author").replaceAll("'","''").toUpperCase();
                             location = resultSet.getString("location").replaceAll("'","''").toUpperCase();
                             straatnaam = resultSet.getString("straatnaam").replaceAll("'","''").toUpperCase();
                             nummer = resultSet.getString("nummer");
                             landcode = resultSet.getString("landcode").replaceAll("'","''").toUpperCase();
                             address = straatnaam + " " + nummer + " , " + location + " " + landcode;
                             url = "http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=" + address + "&output=xml&key=+key+";
                             String query = "INSERT INTO data2 VALUES ('" + i + "','" + title + "','" + author + "','" + resultSet.getString("date1") + "','" + resultSet.getString("date2") + "','" + location + "','" + resultSet.getString("postcode") + "','" + straatnaam + "','" + resultSet.getString("nummer") + "','" + landcode + "','+something like url.getCoordX+','something like url.getCoordY')";
                             success = sql2.executeUpdate(query);
                             i++;
    Now I don't know how I can handle that. Is it possible to do an HTTP request in Java without using Java Script of servlets? I just want to get the X and Y coordinates out of the XML file.
    The XML file will be something like:
    <kml xmlns="http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0">
    <Response>
    <name>1600 amphitheatre mountain view ca</name>

    <Placemark>
    <address>

    </address>
    <AddressDetails Accuracy="8">

    </Point>
    </Placemark>
    </Response>
    </kml>
    many greetings and thanks in advance
    Mathias

    Hi, sorry for being not so clear. My question was actually if it is possible to do a HTTP request in Java without using servlets or being in Java Script. Actually my question was more specific for Google maps, because it didn't seem to work. It was my mistake, and already solved, to forget to make the webservice-call "URL-encoded". Because of that, I always received a HTTP 400 error, and that's why I thought it wouldn't be possible.
    But now I have another, perhaps for you guys stupid question. The result I get from the webservice URL is of the form:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <kml xmlns="http://earth.google.com/kml/2.0">
    <Response>
         <name>nieuwelaan 38, Hamme</name>
         <Status>
              <code>200</code>
              <request>geocode</request>
         </Status>
         <Placemark id="p1">
              <address>Nieuwelaan 38, 9220 Hamme, Hamme, Belgium</address>

                            </Locality>

    </Response>
    </kml> Now I want to get the value of the coordinates field.
    This is my code:
    address = URLEncoder.encode(address, "UTF-8");
    urlString = "http://maps.google.com/maps/geo?q=" + address + "&output=xml&key=ABQIAAAA9fEXNK-q6vKpPU0JCmPPkxQjbVBpjtblJJYkDfbMo0e51afwehRmujfvBtJqx1Qehg6e6QgCRY8poA";
    url = new URL(urlString);
    XPath xPath = XPathFactory.newInstance().newXPath();
    Document domDoc = processData(url);
    path = "/kml/Response/Placemark/Point/coordinates";
    coord = xPath.evaluate(path, domDoc);
    System.out.println("coord : " + coord);Now, in the last line, by writing out the value of coord to my screen, I get the value "1", instead of "4.126295,51.097724,0" I would expect, anyone knows what I'm doing wrong?

  • Problem in converting Spool Request into PDF format

    Hi,
      I am facing problem to convert spool request (which store output of sap script) in to PDF format. Actually I have converted it with function module 'CONVERT_OTFSPOOLJOB_2_PDF' and it is working properly but the problem occurs where the BOLD fonts are used. I am unable to see the Text/Address where i have used Bold Font in script (PDF FORMAT). Even though in (SPO1) spool request shows every thing perfectly (along with Bold Font). It will great if you could suggest me something.
    Thanks,
    Pradeep

    Hi Pradeep,

  • Devtools update causes problems with sudo when used in a script?

    I'm a little confused by this one, but I'm not convinced that it's a bug.. yet.
    Long story short, I compile packages using the ABS via a script/wrapper which uses devtools. The script is available here: https://github.com/WorMzy/compilepackage
    Now, this script is far from perfect, but has worked perfectly well (in various states of completeness) for the past year or so. However, with the recent update of devtools (20120720-1 => 20121013-1), my script fails to execute correctly. After entering the password when prompted (by sudo, at this line: https://github.com/WorMzy/compilepackag … tions#L107), the script terminates unexpectedly.
    Downgrading devtools "fixes" this problem, but I'm not sure if this is a bug in devtools, sudo, zsh, my script, or something else.
    Here is the full output from the compilation of "arch-install-scripts":

    Further information will be provided on request. Suggestions for improving the script will also be appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Update: It appears that the cause is systemd's nspawn. Disabling it in mkarchroot (have_nspawn=0) resolves the problem.
    However, I don't understand why it's causing this behaviour. User input works fine for the sudo password prompt, but then fails for the pacman user prompt? Do they use different input buffers or something? Does that question even make sense?
    Anyway, I'll open a bug report on flyspray and upstream about this when I get the chance.

  • Running scripts from Java user permissions

    I have a web based application running on JBoss application server. It during its processing of certain requests has to call some cshell scripts using Runtime.exec(). Now it seems to be working fine in development environment, however on testing environment it seems to freeze. On further debugging, and digging up the issue it came up that it could be a permissions issue, as certain users have the permissions to run the scripts and some don't.
    The Question therefore would be that, once a script is executed from an app server, which user is used? and in order for the script to be executed who should be granted permissions.
    Thanks in advance.

    Peter__Lawrey wrote:
    When any application starts another application (java or otherwise) it does so as the same user by default.
    The user running the JBoss is the user used.
    This is how all OSes work (to my knowledge)
    Which operating system are you using?Thanks, in that case I have a second question. Is there a way to force a certain user? I mean somebody other than the one who started the app server programmatically?

  • Problems With Transporting Interaction Center Scripts

    I have problem when I select a Script and click on Transport button in the Web UI for the interaction center, IC_Manager Role. After clicking on the transport button I need to check in the back end (transaction code SE01), if a customizing request has been created for that script I selected.
    So the problem is how do we find out if there is customizin request for that script or not? Is there a Pop Up window which comes after clicking on Transport button which would give me a customizin request number, which could be later used to find the request in backend?

    Hi,
    Try checking this in the BSP Application CRM_IC_ISE.
    If you open the script on the third tab (Script Transport) you can see the transport details.
    Hope this helps.

  • How to create a queue using CVP with ICM script(Comprehensive mode)

    Hello Guys,
    I would like to know how can I configure a queue in a comprehensive mode using micro-app at CVP + ICM environment. I work with UCCE at least 2 years, so I know how to create a queue using UCCX and/or IPIVR (I do a queue application using UCCX Editor and at ICM I use the Run external Script component), but at CVP I don't know how to create a application at Call Studio and how to call this application at ICM Script Editor to run this queue if there aren't agents available.
    Can someone help me to understand how can I do that?
    I attached the ICM Script using micro-app. This script runs ok, I call to a Route pattern and CVP route request ICM, so ICM run the script, but if there are no agents available the call drops, so I would like to know how can I create a queue to hold the call and to come back to a available agent.

    Out of the check mark in the queue to skill group node you go to another run external script node, then you loop into that over and over again until the call is answered.
