Hi,
What are the prerequisites for developing applications in Net Weaver Mobile 7.1.
We are in NW 2004s SP 17 with Java Stack.
Is ABAP is required for MI development?
Please let me what needs to be downloaded for server side and for NWDS.

SAP NetWeaver systems that are configured for a specific purpose, indicated by the usage type.
1) Netweaver mobile 7.1 comes as part of SAP NetWeaver system with usage type Application Server ABAP and usage type Mobile. There is no seperate installable unit for mobile than ABAP AS.
Mobile includes DOE (Data Orchestration Engine , ABAP based message oriented middleware)
This constitutes of design time tool for defining data objects and distribution of data.
A runtime to replicate,synchronize and distribute data between the components like Back End and Receiver of data.
Along with DOE, Netweaver Mobile client is an additional installable unit.
Mobile client is installed locally on mobile devices and has a webserver ,database layer and a framework for the mobile applications.
This client framework can be seen as the default client that is shipped by SAP.
Mobile applications can be built using the development environment NetWeaver Developer Studio
In case you wish to use Mobile client also , then additional installable units are required(SAP GUI for windows/ SAP GUI for Java,netweaver developer studio(part of NW CE 7.1) and SAP netweaver mobile client 7.1 )
2) Optionally, you can use SAP NetWeaver 7.0 (2004s) systems with usage types Application Server
Java, EP Core, and Development Infrastructure.

Java knowledge like jsps,corejava...it will be good..If you know well,you can play with webdynpro java.
Also what else, apart from this I should know to become a successful consultant in EP (seen enough of ABAP

No tool generates html flawlessly or for all situations. You will have to know html to figure out what the problem is with the code that the tool generates incorrectly, or you will have to manually code some situation that the tool does not cover. If you don't know html and jsp well, you cant fix the problem and you're stuck. Also, the code it generates is machine generated and isn't easily human-readable.
I suggest you write your own low level code using HTML and JSP. If you can afford them, I suggest reading books on them cover to cover. One on HTML (actually, XHTML), one on JSP/servlets. Then, about 20 other books on all the other related programming topics (along with practice). By the way, the XHTML book is one of the few that you don't really need to read cover to cover, just read part of it and keep it for reference.

one of problem is that I think DEV schema is Created when we install RCU , I've Created UCM and PORTAL schema through RCU .. But mistalenly I've Removed the DEV schema as well

tell me the sqlplus commands fro DELETE schema. and also tell if it is DANGEROUS to delete some schema(example DEV schema) as I’m developing portal via WEB CENTER -Jdeveloper(integrated weblogic) , Xe , RCU, UCM )

Urgent information required on Weblogic Server Development licencing

Hi,
We are a small telecom company using Weblogic Server for our messaging products.
Our customers use system deployed on 6 Weblogic Servers, all of which run valid production licences.
This product has been developed by 4 internal developers, all running Weblogic Servers inside Eclipse in Development mode.
A 3rd party company has approached us saying that we ought to be paying for our development licences as well. One licence per developer machine.
The Oracle's OTN Term and Conditions states otherwise.
Can someone please verify this?
We need the information as soon as possible.

If you are putting the developed applications in production - you must have the proper licences, which you already have.
So i think your licences are in order.

What kind of user priviledge required to run SQL Developer?

So far, I was able to run SQL Developer with local admin rights in my workstation. It is ok in my Development environment. However, I don't have local admin right in production environment. I would like to know which folder and what kind of permission I should have to run SQL Developer.

I assume you are talking about Windows.
SQLDeveloper doesn't require any specific privieleges. You need to have write permission to some directory to allow you to install it and you need to have write permission to your profile (e.g C:\documents and settings\%USERNAME%) to save sqldeveloper's settings and preferences.

i have gone through a lot of blogs but did not find any relevant JAR's specially for PI 7.31, I am planning to go for custom module development for conversion of .xlsx file into xml
so need your help for finding the JAR's for PI 7.31 and also some custom JAVA source code for conversion of excel spreadsheet into XML.

The module key seems correct ffor you. But the blog you shared is cozy. I developed 4 adapter modules using a document. Please refer that.
And NWDS EHP1 is available you can use that to be perfectly sure on compatibility.

Please provide following screenshots
NWA->configuration->infrastructure->Application Modules-> and search for *xlmodule*
if you find your module then click on it and at the bottom there will be a window with JNDI Name. Share that JNDI name and use that JNDI name in your Module. (localejbs/JNDIName).
Also go to NWA->TroubleShooting-> JNDI Browser and see where is your Adapter module situated. I mean under which directory. Either directly inside root/localejbs/ or root/localejbs/sap.com.
Please verify your steps according to that and redeploy and share result.
and Go to NWA- Site Map-> find Start & Stop
In that go to Java Applicaitons Tab and search for your module. It must be started. If it is stopped try starting it.

When there are changes in VC characteristic allowed values or in VC tables there is need to ensure that they will not affect existing orders or orders created with reference to the ones that have the corresponding value. Currently there is no report that will tell whether it is safe to delete a VC characteristic value and the solution has so far been to rename the description as u201CDo not useu201D. In a similar way, when a VC table is changed often existing orders need to be changed so that they take the new determination of value starting from a certain date.
This requirement is for a report to show not archived orders that contain a certain value for a characteristic.

Java.exe Requirement to run SQL Developer?

Hi all, I'm very new to this so pardon my basic questions. I recently installed Oracle 11g and it came with SQL Developer.
However, when I attempt to start SQL Developer from the Windows Start menu, I get a popup that says cannot find SQLDEVELOPER.BAT.
I have looked around for this file in the Oracle folder in Program Files but did not find it. I did find the sqldeveloper.exe.
When I double click on sqldeveloper.exe I get the following, a dialogue box pop-up that wants the full path name for java.exe.
What do I need to do?

Hi Nyssa,
Note that the version of SQL Developer that ships with Oracle 11g is rather old. In my opinion, the best approach would be to download the latest production release:

Choose Windows 32-bit - zip file includes the JDK1.6.0_35 and unzip it into an empty directory. It will run on either 32-bit or 64-bit Windows systems and already contains the correct JDK, so you avoid having to worry about that.

Help required in J2ME for developing software

I want to make an application in J2ME for Sony Ericson K700i mobile phone which is connected to the serial port of the PC,this application would be running inside the cellular mobile phone,when I will run this application all the files in the "File Manager" folder of mobile with .txt extensions would be copied to the PC to some paticular folder passing through the serial port to which the mobile is connected,I am facing some problems while devloping this application,my questions are as follows:
1) Is it possible to transfer a file on the serial port,off course we can transfer interger type data to the serail port but integer is a primitive data type and while transferring files we will actually pass the object related to that file to the serial port of the PC,is this really possible?
2) Sony Ericson K700i does'nt implements JSR 75(PDA Optional Packages for the J2METM Platform,which is used to access PIM data and file systems) which means that we can not access the file system of this mobile so is it really possible to access the files stored in this mobile through my application?
3) Once the file is transferred to the serial port than will its contents of the file ramains in its original state or will be transferred to some kind of bianry data and we have to bring it in the original state.On the PC end will I need to write some other application which continiously monitores the serial port and will receive this file.

Define a plant/storage location for the delivery items which plant/SLoc combination is assigned to a warehouse (in data table T320 you can check plant/SLoc-WH assignments or SM30 V_T320.) In this case your delivery item should be relevant to WM-picking.
W/o warehouse management it is also possible to print picking list (you need a suitable output type for it for application "V2" (shipping)).

How are the realistic system requirements for a complete development environment
under Forms 11g (Forms11g/Reports11g/Weblogic-Server) ?
From our experience there is a problem with the RAM-limitation of Windows 32 bit !
Is there anybody to exchange his experiences ...

The Oracle Solaris Studio 12.4 will officially support Oracle Linux 5,6 when it releases later this year.
Since Oracle Linux is based on RHEL, Oracle Solaris Studio should work on RHEL.
Support customers may report issues against RHEL and the Oracle Solaris Studio team will do its best to address these issues but fixes are not guaranteed.
Oracle Solaris Studio components such as compilers and command line tools do not require Java. If you install the product using the Oracle Solaris Studio Installer in non-interactive mode you can install the Solaris Studio product without having Java on your system though the installer will issue a warning message if Java is not found on the system. Alternately you can install the product using the tar file distribution if Java is not installed. If you install via the tar file, it is not possible to install patches later.
