Reservation block for Zero Stock material

Dear Experts,
Material stock is zero in my plant, still i am able to create reservation for material.
Please tell me how to block this creation when the stock is zero. User should not create reservation agist any mvt type.
Regards
TG

I have not had a need for this scenario, but you might try the following IMG path.
Materials Management -> Inventory Management and Physical Inventory -> Reservation ->Set Dynamic Availability Check
or
TCode OMB1.
You could assign the dynamic availability check key, " B " - E mess. only issued in the case of non-availability, to the desired movement types you are using for reservations.
You can then assign the checking rule to the MB21 reservation creation TCode.
Another thing you might try would be to set the Dynamic Availability Check for Reservations for movement type in TCode OMJJ on the Update Control screen.
From the help:
Dynamic availability check
Indicates whether outstanding material requirements are to be checked in
    the case of this reservation.
Use
An availability check is only carried out if this indicator is set.
Regards.

  • Automatic PR to PO conversion for non stock material

    Hi,
Can  Automatic PR to PO conversion be done for non stock material (with account assignment category and no material master).
We are presently doing only for stock material with transaction ME59N.
    Thanks and Regards,
    Pratap

Some of the pre-requisites for automatic generation of PO from PR are
    1. The system selects only those requisitions for automatic PO generation for which the indicator Automatic purchase order has been set for both the material and the vendor.
    2. It can only generate purchase orders from requisitions to which a unique source of supply has already been assigned.
So material master is mandatory if you want to create PO automatically from PR and you need to activate this option both at vendor and material master.

  • No Inventory record generated for zero stock check

    Hi All,
The issue is no inventory record created for zero stock check.
    prerequisite:
    1. I activated the zero stock  check for the storage type in warehouse,
    2. I also activate the PZ inventory method for zero stock check for this storage type.
    3. storage type is under with 'P -Storage unit type" putaway strategy.
    Steps:
    1. First time I moved the last SU out of the bin, it generated a physical inventory when creating the TO.
we can go to the item - other data of the TO, and found that hte inventory record created with "PN" inventory method. and the zero stock check indicator is 1.
    2. Then I continued to confirmed the TO with empty bin check. the invetory record was cleared when confirmed the TO.
    3. Then I moved that SU back to the same bin.  (only has one SU in the bin)
    4. Try to create the TO to move the SU out, the TO created, and if we go to TO item - other data, the Zero stock check indicator is 1, but this time, it doesn't create any inventory record?
Can anyone tell me why it didn't create the inventory record in the 2nd TO?
    Thanks,

i tried to replicate the case and got the same result that only first time inventory documen was created.
seems its standard behaviour and if the inventory is already done for the bin then it does not carry out again for the same bin automatically as it did earlier.

  • Moving Average Price for non stock material

    Hi All,
We are looking at loading a large number of material masters for items that will not be stocked - i.e. an account assignment will always be provided during purchasing.
When we load these materials - what should the moving average price on the accounting tab be set to? If we put an estimated price in - then when we purchase we will get a warning if the variance between the purchase price and the moving average price is too great. And then when the material changes in price (in lets say a year because the vendor has increased prices by 10%) we can no longer update the moving average price.
What is the best practice in this scenario?
    Kind Regards,

non stock material (standard material type NLAG) does in general not have accounting views, hence it has no fields for moving average prices.
however it can be customized to have an accounting view, we did it too. This  servers the requisition process, with accounting view the price defaults to the requisition. without accouting view, the valuation price needs to be entered manually by a user in the requisition.
The MAP gets only updated if the stock is posted to inventory, which will never be the case for non-stock material, because of this you should always be able to change the MAP directly in the material master with MM02, or if not possible in MM02 with MR21.

    Hi

and more same thing is maintained in another material which is got the invoice block while do the miro.

  • PP-MM-FI integration for Non-Stock material consumption

The client is expecting a simple solution for a Std SAP process which is LIKE subcontracting....but actually not.
The requirement is to set up a process of external operations using a NonStock (NLAG) material ( which will have no physical stock updation when GR is done). This material is a part of BOM with item category N. The material will have S price control. ( Must from business requirements). PR gets created from process order --> converted to PO --> then 101 and simultaneous automatic consumption gets debited to order. (with a price = PO price). PO has a account assignment F and item category blank Standard).
Question - This behaviour is not desired. The "Std cost" should be used in posting a consumption posting..& the rest ( PO price less Std price) should be shown as purchase price variance in a different acount. How to customise this break up ? Is there way in MM pricing conditions or something else ?.
Pl note that there is no stock entry...only consumption will be debited with GR offset at PO price. Also at invoice verification, the price if different should be posted to price difference account ( which is not assigned to process order...it is directly going to COPA).
Might be a very simple SAP solutions / answers from MM /PP......so that we avoid the ABAP development for reposting..
    Could somebody help pls ?
    Regards
    Ram

    Hi,
Since Material is Non-Stock Material so it is must to maintain the Account Assignment Category in PR or PO for this Material. And once you maintain the Account Assignment Category in PO and do GR w.r.t. this PO then it will not consider the Material Master Price (Standard Price) since there is not any Stock Account Entry during GR, it will hit the Expense Account. And Price Difference Account will get debited only if Stock Account will come in picture.
    So following Accounting Entry will get generated;
    During GR (MIGO);
    Expense Account - Dr
    GR/IR Clearing A/c - Cr
    During LIV (MIRO);
    Vendor Account - Cr
    GR/IR Clearing A/c - Dr

    Kind regards,

    Hi,
I'm not familiar with Serial Number Management but I guess you can apply it only to materials with stock.

  • BOM explosion in MRP for non-stock material

    Dear friends,
I have a non-stock(bom item category 'N')  service material setup as a component in my production BOM, which during MRP run, should create a Planned order or Purchase requisition for that non-stock component. But, when I run MRP for the top-level material, it doesn't create any requirement for that service material, while all other stock material(Bom item category L), it generated dependant requirements.
    Appreciate your help.
    Thanks
    Suri

    Dear Suri,,
    Please go through this.
<b><u>Non-Stock Items</u></b>  Use this item category if you want to enter a
material that is not kept in stock before use, and that is only procured for a
specific planned order or production order.
The material is only rarely required for a custom-made product and is used
directly in the product as a purchased part.
    <u><b>Before you start</b></u>
You can enter a non-stock item either with or without a material master. If you
enter a non-stock item without a material master, you must enter a description.
For non-stock items, you have to maintain purchasing data in the bill of material.
You enter the following materials as non-stock items because the quantities are
not updated in the material master record:
o     Materials with a material type that supports configuration
o     Pipeline materials, which can be taken from a pipeline at any time
    <u><b>
    Special functions</b></u>
The following functions are supported for non-stock items
    •     You maintain purchasing data for non-stock items in the bill of material.
    •     In the planning run, the system generates purchase requisitions
instead of dependent requirements for components that are procured directly.
When you configure your R/3 System for MRP, you can define whether direct
procurement is triggered by the planning run or by production order management.
    •     Product costing processes take valuation data from the BOM item.
The system determines the release strategy on the basis of the price data you
enter. The material group is required to produce a purchase requisition.

  • How to deactivate Split valuation functinality for a  Stock Material

    Hi All,
I have one issue on Split valuation like by mistake user has extended the material with the Valuation category and he has extended to one Valuation type and received a stock with this valuation type.
Now they want to deactivate this split valuation functionality for this material, Can any one tell me the prerequisite process for this scenario?
    Regards,
    Nag

    Hi Nag,
Maybe you can change it - I'm not 100% sure since I have never done such thing.
    But:
    - Please eliminate transactonal data (delete all of them)
    - Remove the stock in current and previous period (possible via MB1A + 201 + posting date)
    - Archive the views of your material master (records in MBEW) with valuation types
    - After removing the views with valuation type, hopefully you can remove valuation category
Changing the field and trying to save SAP will give error message > click on appearing 'Display Errors' buton > you will get information about what hinders you from being able to execute the change > eliminate these problems
    This is just my opinion.

  • Sub Con Process For Special Stock Material

    Dear Experts ,
Can somebody please tell me , what is the procedure for sending the special stock(project) material for sub contracting .
    Thanks in advance

    Hi Avid,
Materials assigned to sales order or project (that are located in sales order or in project special stock segment) are not "transported" in SAP to the subcontractor.
    Please check SAP online help:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/4d/2b90b043ad11d189410000e829fbbd/frameset.htm
Subcontracting is also possible in conjunction with sales order stocks and project stocks. The subcontracting orders are account-assigned to a sales order or a WBS element. Thus, the components are not transferred (using a transfer posting) to the "stock of material provided to vendor" but are directly withdrawn from the sales order stock or the project stock at the time of the goods receipt. The material manufactured is also posted to the sales order stock or to the project stock. The cost of subcontracting is then debited to the sales order or WBS element.
Since the components are not transferred to the "stock of material provided to vendor", we recommend that you use a transfer posting to transfer the provided components to a new storage location (for example, 9999). This enables you to obtain an overview of those stocks that are physically located at the subcontractor. This information is particularly important when you carry out a physical inventory of the sales order stocks and project stocks.

    With regards,

    hi
You can send material to quality via delivery schedule tab in purchase order item level, Then while migo goods is in quality inspection , after that use 321 movement to remove goods from quality inspection , so that you can make miro after that .

  • Reservations are not creating for a stock item PO

    Hi All,
I have an issue with reservations for a stock material PO,
    Our's is extended classic scenario(BBP 3.0 & R/3 4.7), I have created a cart and approved the cart for a stock materials.
As per business process, for a stock materials reservations are to be created but here after cart approval, under follow on documents tab, I am not getting any reservation details except shoopping cart number and its approval status.
Can any one have idea on it?
    Through me some light,
    Thanks in advance,
    Govardhan,V.

Hi. Reservations are not supported in extended classic.
Or at least they were not when I last asked SAP about 3 years ago.
Unless something has changed the only solution was to use the BADI BBP_EXTLOCALPO_BADI to deactivate extended classic if it is an item you want a reservation for.
You would then end up using the classic scenario for these reservation items only.
    Regards,
    Dave.

  • Negative Stock for Zero Quantity

    Hello SDN Gurus,
We are facing a problme in Inventory .
We have loaded the data for 2LIS_03_BX and initizalized the Stock and compress the cube with marker update.
Later loaded the data for 2LIS_03_BF and compress the cube with the Marker.
since beginning that is from 01.2006 for ZERO stock we are getting the negative values. As i have serarch for losts of mateirla and found that it cound be incorrect compression hence loaded the data 5 times till now but same issue. Loading has been done by different people still the issue is the same.
Can any one has any idea where is the problem.
    Quick response is much appreciable.
    Thanks

    Hi,
Can u check if your are getting the proper values for the stock from the date of initialization.
If the values are true since from the date of initialization and the prior values to it are negative it means that you have loaded using data sources 2LIS_03_BX amd 2LIS_03_BF.
When ever the data source 2LIS_03_BX is used , it will create the opening balance of stock on initialization day. This data source has to be used when u dont want to load the archived material documents using 2LIS_03_BF.
so, the values prior to initialization day will be negative because the system assumes that as you have done loading with 2LIS_03_BX, u have decided not to load any archived records. So, some incomplete records are loaded. So, all records prior to initialization day will be marked with negative values and negative value of the first record will be the negative of opening balance created on initialization. The negative value for the first record is created just to wliminate the incorrect data that may be shown in the report if at all some documents are archived and not loaded using 2LIS_03_BF.
But from the date of initialization you will start seeing correct values for the stock as opening balance is created on initialization day and follow on material documents are loaded by 2LIS_03_BF.
If you decide to load archived records then use alone 2LIS_03_BF.  This will bring all material movememt records into infocube and the correct stock value will flow.
    Thanks.

Its upto you if you want maintain material master record or not for non valuated material. With material master you have a material code to input in the field of PO, without material master you put in short text.
