Reset, now all that comes on is the apple Icon

I bought an ipod touch for my son. He now has an iphone and gave the the ipod touch. I went to reset it and after it reset, all that comes on is the apple icon. You can do a hard restart but after that, it does the same thing. I doesn't even show up in devices under itunes. How can I reload everything like new through teh computer? I called service and support but they want 149 to fix it, i just as soon buy a new one for that price.

Sounds like your iPhone was hacked to unofficially unlock it. You can put it in Recovery mode, connect it to iTunes and Restore it in iTunes. Then you will need to call AppleCare, give them the model and serial numbers and find out which cell provider it is locked to. After you get that information contact that cell provider and see if you can get it officially unlocked.

You may need to hold the sleep/wake button and the home button until the apple logo appears. Or anther thing you can try is draining the battery until the battery is dead. That's what i tried and worked. You may need to do those things more than 2 times. OH anther thing is you can try connecting you ipod to your computer and see if it appears on itunes. If those don't work you can send it to apple. So that's what helped me I hope I answered your question.

I suggest you get 9.2. You need to install the same or later version of the OS. One some computer the shipped version has extra drivers. The drivers will not be in the official release in this case 9.1. They would be in 9.2.

Try holding down the option key then power on. This brings up the startup manager. Click on your hd. Click on right arrow key.
You need to figure out the level of your firmware before installing 10.2 or greater. ( The PC name for firmware is BIOS. ) Installing 10.2 with a down level firmware will most likely make your iMac unusable and difficult to fix.

I really can't tell from your post but did you try rebooting the iPad?
Reboot the iPad by holding down on the sleep and home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons.

It depends on several things:
If your call recipient is another iPhone, your name won't come up unless you are in that person's contact list.
If your call recipient is a land line capable of displaying caller name and telephone number, but all they see is your number, then your cellular carrier needs to fix that. Contact them and ask for your name to appear also.

3. Try another cable (make sure it's an original Apple cable)

Is there a lock symbol at the top of the screen next to the battery indicator ? If there is, then depending on what you've got Settings > General > Use Side Switch To set to (rotation lock or mute notifications), then you can lock/unlock the rotation by the switch on the right hand side of the iPad above the volume switch, or via control centre : swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen and it's the right-most of the 5 icons in the middle of it (if the icon is white then it's 'on', tap it to turn it grey and 'off'). so yeah i bought "Glam Nation Live" (by Adam Lambert) and it came with videos. after i bought the album, i synced to my itunes and now the videos wont play. there will be some weird error code about the URL and then it will close. they were able to play before. how can i fix this?

You should really read the manual.

They would only be where you put them. What program did you use to import them? Pics/vids taken with ipod are not part of the sync process at all. You should be importing them just as you would with any digital camera.
If you did not import them, then they are not on your computer.

Your phone was previously hacked to get it to work on a carrier other than the one it was locked to. Restoring it restored the carrier lock. Only the carrier it is locked to can authorize an unlock. Not all carriers will do this. You will have to find out who it is locked to and contact them.

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.
(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)
If perchance you can't find your install Disc, at least try it from the Safe Boot part onward.
If 10.7.0 or later...
Bootup holding CMD+r, or the Option/alt key to boot from the Restore partition & use Disk Utility from there to Repair the Disk, then Repair Permissions.
If that doesn't help Reinstall the OS.

Try to force your phone into recovery mode. Disconnect it from the computer's USB cord. Turn it off if you can by holding the sleep/wake switch until you see the red slide to off. If you can't turn it off, please continue. Press and hold the home button while plugging it into the computer's USB cord. Continue holding the Home button while iPhone starts up. While starting up, you will see the Apple logo.
