  • How do I reset the e-printer's web embedded server network password?

I have an HP Photosmart 7520 e-all in one. I use Windows 7.  I could tried to set a password in the EWS network tab. I could not change the user name so it remains "admin". I set the passwork and it seemed ok. But when I tried to log on again, it would not let me in. How do I reset the network password?

I recommend that you run "Restore Network Defaults" from the front panel and then run the wireless setup wizard again.  This will wipe out all your network settings.

  • Bugs in the installer

I have run into a problem reinstalling SOA Suite 11.1.1.4 on a Windows XP laptop. In the confirmation page of the installer I can see that all SOA apps and libraries have target as AdminServer. I can modify it manually but I am not sure how it happened and what is the exact list of apps/libraries that needs to be deployed to the AdminServer vs soa_server1.
After running the installer I've noticed that the BPM Workspace (and all other soa apps/libraries) was deployed on the AdminServer and not on the managed server soa_server1. Soa_server1 was created and I was able to start it but it does not contain SOA libraries. I have uninstalled all FMW components, and also unistalled WebCenter and UCM. I am now trying to do a fresh/default install on the same machine. When running the config domain for WebLogic, I chose to manually configure Managed Servers, Clusters, and Machines. The default settings were empty. So, I had to manually enter settings for LocalMachine, localhost, and soa_server1. I also moved soa_server1 under the LocalMachine. Still, all soa-infra components are deployed to the AdminServer as indicated in the installer confirmation page.
Has anyone experience this problem? What can I do to fix it on this Windows XP laptop? Simple uninstall/reinstall of SOA Suite 11g did not help. In the confirmation page of the installer I can see that all SOA apps and libraries have target as AdminServer. Do I need to clear Windows registry entries so that installer uses normal deplyment targets? I'd appreciate your advice please. It could be that my laptop was "broken" by the WebCenter or UCM because I did not have this problem prior to installing UCM.
    Thank you,
    Igor

I think that on Windows XP single server deployment is not recommened, I saw it somewhere in the documentation. Linux is fine since it allows for larger than 2G process memory space. Let me know if you had a different experience.
I managed to manually configure deployment targets by running the weblogic installer on a different machine and looking at target setting for each component there. It was a tedious process and I wonder if there is any way to "reset" the installer. Also, is it documented somewhere which app/library should be deployed to which server?
    Thank you,

  • HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format - Can't reset the paper size - won't print!!!

I have a new HP Officejet 7500A Wide Format All-in-one printer.  I love it and have had no problems with it...until now.  The other day I went into Photoshop and printed a 4x6 photo and now my printer will not allow me to print on 8.5X11.  I have checked the paper size in Photoshop, Word, Excel, Acrobat...everything I used that day, but it all shows "letter" size paper in the properties.  I also checked the printer utilities...letter size paper is selected.
But when I try to print, the printer and the computer both give me a "paper mismatch" error and my only option is to change the paper or cancel.  I went back into photoshop again and was able to print a 4x6 photo again - once I put in 4x6 paper - but then I changed it back to an 8.5X11 size photo sheet and tried to print on letter size paper and..."paper mismatch'.
I changed the printer back to factory settings.  Nothing.  I just had to reset up my printer on my network, but it still won't print.  I tried to re-install the printer software from the installation disk, but it won't install.  It says "already installed".
HELP!!!!!!  I honestly don't know what to do at this point!!!!!
    Thanks in advance!!

I have struggled with a similer problem with my new 7500A.  I've done all the things you did. I made sure I had all updates and the firm ware update. I spent time on the phone with a lady who meant well but clearly didn't know the product. I had a difficult time communicating with her. Her accent was in the way. This morning I realy didn't want to face another day of this struggle.  As I walked into my studio I had a idea. Instead of going to the computer to try to solve my problem through menues, HP Customer Service and or communities. I went dirrectly to the printer.  I turned the printer on, the little screen on the printer lit up I touched the arrow to go to the next screen of menus. I touched "Set Up"  then scrolled down through the choices. I picked "Preferences". At the bottom of the list was.............. Media Width/Type Sensing (ON)............I promptly turned it (OFF) ......................I am printing as I was told I would be able to do prior to buying. I am not getting that anoying screen  "Paper Mismatch" . The printer is printing now on my 12 x 12 stock regardless of the type. ie: cardstock, plain paper, colored paper, construction paper. I hope this helps some of you out there.  Clearly HP was of "NO" help to me. I have read that others are installing HP 7000 drivers etc.  I've solved the problem without going to those lengths, no thanks to HP.

  • HT4356 I checked everything out and had no problem printing from IPAD/MINI using the HP Photosmart 6520 printer, but the next day, using same application, my HP did not show, but was looking for the AirPrint Printer, what am I doing wrong?

Using IPAD2, IPAD MINi, HP photosmartE6520 set up on wireless network.  No problem printing from my devices, but the following day, it is looking for AirPrint printer, why?

    Hello lenc48,
    Welcome to the HP Forums.
I see that you are having a few issues when it comes to printing from your mac as well as some two sided printing issues.
I do have a some suggestions that we can try in the attempt to troubleshoot this issue.
First off, please make sure that you have the printer power cable connected directly to a wall outlet and not a power bar/strip. Here is a document that uses a LaserJet printer as an example but it is meant for HP products in general. Please click on the following link that explains the Issues when Connected to an Uninterruptible Power Supply/Power Strip/Surge Protector.
Please remove the usb cable (if using wireless, disregard this step) from the printer and from the Mac and leave it disconnected until further notice.
Please click on the first link that will give you instructions on Uninstalling the Printer Software.
Once the software has been removed, please disable any anti virus protection that you may have on the Mac.
The next step we are going to take is downloading the HP Photosmart 6520 e-All-in-One Printer Full Feature Software and Drivers - OS X 10.9 Mavericks.
The installation will prompt you when to connect the usb cable (You will see a prompt for a wireless connection as well if that is the connection type you would like to use) so please do not connect the cable until prompted to do so.
If you are still having issues, feel free to write me back or you can contact HP Total care direct.  If you are calling within North America, the number is 1-800-474-6836 and for all other regions, click here: click here.
    Thanks for your time.

  • I can't get my HP Printer to appear in the installation list

I have a HP Photosmart 5520 printer that was, until I moved, working fine wirelessly with my Macbook Pro.
I tried restarting the installation and now, cannot even get my laptop to locate it for the installation. I have tried to do the HP installation download but that can't locate the printer either.
The printer is saying that it is wirelessly connected to my network though?
    HELP ASAP

Hi ALV170991:  I understand you are having difficulties connecting to your network since you have moved. Restore network defaults on the printer Touch right arrow on display screen of printer Touch Setup(the wrench) press ok Select wireless press ok Arrow through until you see restore network defaults Select restore defaults press ok As this printer is usb setup of wireless you will need to temporarily connect  the printer with a usb cord to the mac Open Hdd/applications/Hewlett Packard/ device utility/setup assistant Rerun the setup assistant and configure for your network. Once connected to your network you will be prompted to disconnect the  usb and add the printer back into print and scan. If you require further assistance please reply back  http://goo.gl/jSJpog

  • Reseting the date and time on photosmart 5510

Having replaced the internal battery, the date and time on scanned items to memory card is giving 1st january 2001.how can i reset this.

    Hey @dube55,
I am aware that your Photosmart model does not have a fax. Because I do not have a Photosmart 5510 here and have no access to the Embedded Web Server I gave you the generic tab options. My apologies for the confusion.
The Date and Time option under the Embedded Web Server for your printer should be located under Settings or Tools. It may be under a sub-menu on the left hand side, such as System or Preferences. Feel free to click on the options to explore what you are able to alter on your machine.
If you still do not see a Date and Time option we will need to run a Power Reset on the printer. Doing so should prompt you to enter the date and time when reconfiguring your printer. If this fails, we may need to run a Factory Restore.
How to Perform a Hard Reset:
    Turn your printer ON
With the printer ON disconnect the power cable from the rear of the printer for 30 seconds
Plug the power cable back in
The printer should start back up on its own
Once the printer returns to the ready state, try another scan to verify if the time and date stamp is correct
Should the issue persist, please proceed with the reset below.
    How to Restore Factory Defaults:
    Turn your printer ON
Touch the right arrow button until you see Setup (wrench)
    Touch the Setup button
    Select Tools
    Select Restore Factory Defaults
    Choose Yes
Once the Restore is complete your printer should start back up and may prompt you to enter the date and time.
Please let me know if these steps work for you. Best of luck!

  • I have already reset the printing system after my Epson workforce 600 keeps saying "filter" stopped in the print queue...

I have a Epson Workforce 600 all-in-one printer and it will STILL not print anything after the Mountain Lion upgrade.  I have downloaded the latest drivers from Apple's site, tried to print thru TextEdit, it connects via Verizon Wireless 4G hotspot Wi-Fi network, printer is getting signal, macbook picks up nearby printer and installs and configures it, but when looking in Print and Scan, it shows printer is "Idle".  Then when you try to get computer to communicate with printer via configuration utility, it says "communication error."  What else can I do??

OS X Mountain Lion: Reset the printing system

  • How can you reset your Installer even though you forget the old password?

I forget the password to Installer (username of the laptop). Now, it asks me for the old password to reset
    Please Help

    Forgot Your Account Password
    For Snow Leopard and earlier
Mac OS X 10.6- If you forget your administrator password
    For Lion/Mountain Lion
        Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
When the menubar appears select Terminal from the Utilities menu.
Enter resetpassword at the prompt and press RETURN. Follow
instructions in the dialog window that will appear.
Or see Reset a Mac OS X 10.7 Lion Password and
OS X Lion- Apple ID can be used to reset your user account password.
If you are unable to boot from an installer DVD:
(these will only work on Leopard or earlier)
      1. Boot to Safe Mode by restarting and after the chime press and hold down
the COMMAND-S keys until a black screen with white type appears.
      2. At the prompt, type the following commands pressing return after each
          command line:
         /sbin/fsck -yf
If you do not receive a "Filesystem OK" message then repeat this command
until you do.  If after seven tries you still do not receive a "Filesystem OK"
message, then the system is corrupted and needs to be reinstalled.
         mount -uw /
         cd /private/var/db/netinfo
         mv local.nidb local.old
         rm ../.AppleSetupDone
         shutdown -r now
The second-to-last command above will cause OS X to think that the operating system is newly installed, and when the new owner starts up the computer it will send him/her to the startup wizard where he/she can start a new user without reinstalling.
This last method does not actually change a password. It simply removes the user accounts and lets you create an initial admin account as if the computer were new out of the box.
Reset Admin Password Using The Terminal
You can reset the password by printing out (or writing down) and carefully following these steps.
First, find the short name of the admin user on the machine. The easiest way of doing this is by looking at what the directory is called in the Users folder.
Now, start in Single-user Mode. It should boot into a command line.
Enter these exact lines. Press RETURN after each.
    mount -uw /
    ifconfig lo0 up
    cd /var/db/netinfo
    netinfod -s local
Now you'll need that short name. Enter "passwd", a space, and the short name of the admin. For example, if the admin was rather prosaically called "imadmin", you would enter "passwd imadmin".
The computer will now prompt you to change the password for "lmadmin" (or whatever the short name was). Go ahead and enter a new password.
    Now, enter:
    sync
    reboot
and the machine will reboot. The admin password should now be changed.

  • Print Failure: How Do I Reset the CUPS folder?

HP support says the problem with my 4 mo old laser printer is Apple’s cups folder and that it needs to be rest. Can anyone explain this to me and give me directions? Verbiage from the back and forth with HP is below. Thank you very much!!!

Thank you for contacting HP Total Care.
If you have already reset the printing system manually with the
instructions that we have provided to you then I would recommend
contacting Apple as it is likely that the cups folder needs to be reset.
If the manual reset did not resolve it then it will need this folder to
be reset in the terminal and only Apple can direct you within the
    terminal on your Macintosh.
    This should resolve the issue.

Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately, what you suggest is basically what I had already done as detailed in my initial e-mail to you. Just to be sure, however, I did it again, exactly as you suggested, with the same non-results. The printer is on my USB chain: It shows up in Printer Browser, but it cannot seem to find the drivers it needs. Any help you can provide would be most appreciated! Thank you!

    My Request
Hi. I had a system crash yesterday and now cannot get my printer to work. It worked superbly up to this point. OS 10.4.10. 1.6 GHz PPC G5 with 1GB factory RAM. HP LaserJet 1022 installed April 2007.
Ran Software Update and all is up to date. Ran Applejack multiple times. Uninstalled HP LJ 1022 drivers per article on your WEB site. Reinstalled HP LJ 1022 drivers from LJ1022_SeriesOSX.dmg which, when unpacked, led to hp LaserJet 1020 Series.pkg v 1.2.0 (modified 4/27/06 9:23 AM). This takes 10-15 minutes, but eventually completes successfully. I then go to Printer Setup Utility v 4.7 (161.10) and attempt to pick my LaserJet 1022 (I can send you a Grab screen capture (TIFF) if you like). I am able to see the 1022 with USB listed as the connection, and the name at the bottom of the screen reads HP LaserJet 1022 and right under it the location is r-mymac. However, the spinning icon goes for many minutes while it looks for drivers, and eventually stops. If I use the Print Using bar and choose HP, I get a zillion HP options, but can’t find the correct hp LaserJet 1022 option. Of note, the HP 1022 does show up in About this Mac under the USB window. Thus, I’m unable to print. Any help would be greatly appreciated| Thank you very much.

Thanks for posting and sharing your knowledge!
Unfortunately, this didn't work. I went to the Printer Setup Utility Finder menu and hit "Reset Printing System" several times. Then I followed thee HP uninstall and then did reset:
    (4) How to delete the printer per HP
    (a) Close any open windows.
    (b) Open the hard drive and proceed to the /Library/Printers/ folder. Drag the HP folder into the Trash.
    (c) Open MacHD/Library/Receipts/ and drag hp LaserJet 1022 to the trash.
    (d) Open MacHD/Library/Frameworks/and drag libZJBIG.dylib to the trash.
    (e) Close any open windows.
    (f) Open the hard drive and proceed to the /Applications/Utilities folder

    (h) Restart the Macintosh
    Empty the Trash
    (j) Install the latest available driver
    (k) Went to the Printer Setup Utility Finder menu and hit "Reset Printing System" several times
Any other suggestions? The HP folks said I would have to go to terminal and use UNIX commands to reset the cups, whatever that is.
    Thanks again.
