Resource date assignment

Dear All,
I have created a resource with St date as 01.03.2009and end date as 31.03.2009.in change mode while changing the dates as st 01.04.2009 and end date 12.12.2009 system is getting saved but it is again showing the previous dates.pls help

But while creating the resource i wrongly entered entered the validity dates as from 01.03.2009 to31.03.2009 in the costing tab validity dates and saved,while changng the dates system showing the below msg

Analysis service cubes - Utilisation report, how to extract resource, team assignment information

I am using Excel 2013 and attached an external data source from analysis services OLAP cube that Project Server 2013 builds.
The cube I am using is portfolio analyser.
I would like categorise the resources by which team they are part of firstly, i.e. Project Management, Technical Services, Delivery
I have created a PowerPivot table and would like group each user by team and then by resource name, capacity, work and availability. Time across the top, so I can see this for Year, month, and weekly utilisation.
How can I get the team that each is resource is assigned from this cube?

I think the field I require is listed in the Enterprise Custom Fields and Lookup Tables section of PWA, however I believe it was a default field that came pre-configured OOB after install. The exact field I require is located if you go to; PWA Settings
> Security >Manage Users > Select User> Team Details > Team Name.
As you can see by the description next team name, there are instructions advising on how to populate the team names for your organisation. So it was a pre-configured field.
Team Details
Team Details are optional and are used to define team membership and the team resource that represents a team. Before you set these options use "Server Settings"/"Enterprise Custom Fields and Lookup Tables" to create a lookup table that
contains your team names, and edit the "Team Name" resource custom field to use this lookup table.
Team Name is used to indicate team membership - each resource in a team will have the same value for Team Name.
The Team Assignment Pool check box is selected for the team resource, used when assigning tasks to the team. Often a generic resource will be used with the assignment owner field set as the team manager.
So I have entered in all my appropriate organisation team names in the Lookup Table for Custom Field; Team.
I have assigned each resource to one of the team names.
Now I would like to create a PowerPivot Table and incorporate the resource team to be able to create a utilisation report based on each team within my organisation.
After receiving the link from you above I have gone to central admin > Service Application > Project Server Service Application > OLAP Database Management > Configuration of Cube > Cube Dimensions > Resource >
I have added "Team_Resource" to the selected dimension list. Then I completed a "Build Now".
When I go back to my PowerPivot Excel sheet and refresh data I am able to see the new field however, it is not the field that I need.
Can you confirm which field I would need to add?
Is this field a multi field?

Role - Resource - Task Assignment

All,
We have a requirement where a cProjects task may spread along for, say, 6 months. Resource needs to work on this task for only 2 days per month, every month (say) (Work - 12 days).
When the role is staffed for 6 months, this resource will not be available for the other projects. And therefore, we want the resource assignment to the task to drive his availability.
Is there a way out? Or do we have to staff the role 6 times (with the right dates)? The second option works, I know, but is not an elegant way to do it.

The business isn't quite liking the idea of doing so much when a resource is supposed to be working on the task 2days/month. For every time that the resource is to work, the cProjects user would have to staff to the role (or create a role, as you suggested). Everytime, the dates have to be mnaully entered for staffing, Project Role, Resource to task assignment and so on.
They want this to be done at one place and would like this data to reflect elsewhere. For e.g. when the resource is assigned to the task, this data should drive availability of the resource - is what they want.
Let me know if I am missing on any of the obvious functionalities of cProjects resource management that I may try to resolve this issue.

Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool?

we are trying to migrate an OIM development environment to a preproduction environment and we need to migrate more than 400 IT Resources. We have exported some IT Resources and when we imported them in the preproduction environment their data was not migrated. Is there any way to export IT Resource data from OIM using the export tool? Or is there any other way to do this without doing it by hand?

Resource control assignment failed for project

I've setup a new project (we run sap), and keep getting the following msg

Provide Resource Data - Page customization

1.End-user requests a new resource . Lets say "AD User".
2.In the second page (Provide Resource Data) , end user will choose the IT Resource (created a Resource Object form for end user to choose a AD IT Resource from the lookup)
In this page, the OOTB jsp displays the below info in the jsp
*"Provide the following AD User >> AD Object Form details for Thomas A[THOMSAS A]: "*
Is it possible to remove only "*AD User >> AD Object Form*" from the above message?

VBA Project Export Resource data vith TimeScaleData ON FILTERED TASK

I have been using the common code you can find at the following website to export resources data using the TimeScaleData function :

It works fine. Now, I need to do the same export but at the same time, I need to filter some tasks by a specific value in the Text1 column for example. Thus, I would like to extract the resources data, not on the all tasks, but only on filtered tasks.
How is it possible ?
I tried to setup a filter by VBA, but the filter is not take in account. The TimeScaleData retrieved the value of the all tasks and not only of the filtered tasks.

Jack's macro loops through all the resources but your filter is a task filter, so even though you may see the filtered Gantt Chart view, the macro still exports all resource data. What exactly do you want to do?

Resource Data Found Damaged: Adobe Elements 10 Organizer.app

I ran DiskWarrior, which "scanned the disk named “Macintosh HD” checking all files and folders for damage and potential compatibility problems.
1 file had resource data that was found to be damaged.
File: “AdobeSWFL.rsrc”
Detected that the resource header is damaged and cannot be repaired.
Location: “Macintosh HD/Applications/Adobe Elements 10 Organizer.app/Contents/ElementsAutoAnalyzer.app/Contents/Frameworks/AdobeOwl.framework/Ve rsions/A/Resources/AdobeSWFL.bundle/Contents/Resources/”
I deleted Adobe Elements 10, as well as Adobe Elements 10 Organizer, reinstalled Adobe Elements 10, and ran DiskWarrior again. Again, the same file had resource data that was found to be damaged.
Should I be worried about the problem? Has anyone else found the same damage? What can be done about it, short of Adobe fixing the problem and issuing an upgrade?

First of all, I personally don't think it's wise to run pre-emptive strikes with repair utilities. Use them when you actually have a problem.
If you uninstalled PSE by deleting it, you have a problem. You MUST use the uninstaller in Applications>Adobe Photoshop Elements 10. PSE is not a nice tidy package like most mac apps, and there are bits and bobs all over your hard drive. Try running the uninstaller now, but it may well not work. If it doesn't, post back.
IMHO, running DW unecessarily is more likely to cause problems than to fix them. I'm always hearing from enthusiastic DW users about how it narrowly saved them from a major failure of this or that, while people who don't run these utiities don't have these crises at all. It's great when things really have gone wrong, don't get me wrong. It's the very best for fixing serious problems, but OS X just doesn't need all that maintenance and actually runs better without intervention, most of the time.

Date Assigned versus Date of Delinquency

My husband has a Time Warner bill from when he had roomates back in 2009....he didn't even know it still existed, and it went to collections and he paid it when he got a notice last year in April, 2014. His report shows "date assigned: April, 2014". The date of deliquency is like, July 2009. Under "negative factors" on his credit report it shows that his latest collection was that Time Warner Bill "1 year, 2 months ago." Is that right? Shouldn't it be from the date of delinquency, not "date assigned"??

It can only report for a max of 7.5 yrs from the OCs DoFD (sometime in 09 from what you have posted here). How to trigger approval request for resources after assigning role

We have a use case where we need to assign resources to user via assigning roles.
In order to achive this use case
1. we have created a role and assigned the access policy to it which contain the resources to be provisioned once the role is assigned to the user.
2. Created a SOA composite having manager approval and assigned this composite to a approval policy of type 'Assign Role'.
3. I am already having the approval policy for the resources which are present in roles. The approval policy of resources is of type "Provision Resource".
4. Also the SOA composite for resource apporal is deployed in OIM and assigned to the approval policy.
5. Now when I am raising the request from OIM of type "Assign Role" the approval defined in the SOA composite for Role approval gets triggered. After approving the role request the role is assigned to the user and also the resources defined in the access policy gets provisioned to teh user account.
Now I want to trigger the resource approval process after the role approval instead of directly provisioning the resources. So that once the role is approved the individual Approval Process of resources part of roles should also gets invoked. Based on the approval or rejection of resources approval, the resource gets assigned to the user.
Please let me know how to achieve the above use case.

Access policy is saying whoever gets xyz role, will get this abc resource. Now once a user gets xyz role, you are stopping to get abc resource? both are contradictory. Don't go through access policy. User is anyway going to request for roles. Modify your flow and make user request for resource. Have your composite and approval policy attached. User will get resource once it is approved.

About Thread resource (data) sharing

I am new to java. In my project, there is scenario where one thread (Main Thread) creates a resource (data) and create new thread and then that resource (data) needs to be access by thread which is running on same application which is created by Main Thread.How can access a thread resource (data) which is created Main Thread from another thread which also created Main Thread in java?

You could pass it as a parameter to the constructor to your class that implements Runnable (do not extend Thread). Or you could make it available via some globally accessible variable--e.g. a public static member of some class. Or, I think there are tools in java.util.concurrent that you could use for inter-thread data sharing, depending on how things change as you two threads do their work.
You haven't provided enough detail for a more specific answer than that.

For basic understanding of Dashboards and Models you can use standard Templates or samples which ll come along with dashboard designer(Formly Xcelsius) installation.
For path File-->Templates(or Samples).
Under Templates you ll have different categories and for each you ll find the dashboard Templates.

Bad resource data offset 0

GraphicConverter (an image processing program) is dumping this message onto my console about 2 of my files:
bad resource data offset 0 and size -928468624 in file
     I routinely check my file system with DiskUtility, Disk Warrior, etc. for any inconsistencies. I can open the files fine from Finder; what is a "bad resource data offset" and does it mean anything about these files in my file system that I should be concerned about?

Import an excel file which contain resource data to P6

Hii,
I had a problem of importing an excel file into p6 which contain resource data to p6.
I used the import option which is present in file-import i followed the instruction and at last while clicking the finish tab its showing the import was successful.
But in the resource it is emplty unable to display a single resource.
plz help me or is there any other procedure for it plz let me know.

As the previous poster stated, you need to export using resource assignments not activities. The only changes that P6 will accept will be to information about activities (Description, duration, etc) if you choose activities. Choosing Resources will allow changes to information with resources and resources asignments will allow changes to information pertaining to the interaction of the activities and resources.
