Respond to Human Task via email.

Hi,
I'm trying to setup Human Workflow notification service, so I can get the user to action (reject, approve, etc) on the task without login in to Worklist Application.
I successfully managed to get the email sent to the users email through the notification service. Then for example once the user clicks on the 'Approve' link on the email, a new window with approval data appears and can be replied back.
However I keep getting an email reply with the below text, and the Human Task never get actioned. Could someone please help? Thanks a lot.

I can add the attachment via the worklist app itself using the same user.
I got this code directly from the source for the worklist app. Reference their file WorklistServlets.TaskAttachment.java
I had reverted to using the classes in oracle.tip.pc.api.worklist as the newer ones in oracle.bpel.services.workflow all say they do not support file attachments.

I have problem with complete task via email. I found this blog very useful (http://blogs.adobe.com/ADEP/2010/11/how-to-complete-a-task-via-email-using-reply-to-comple te.html), but...

Hi Diana, thanks for your reply.
You're probably right about 2 different error messages.

So I created new task and tried to complete it via email. Now I receive email with another error:

  • Human task notification email problem

    Hi All,
We are getting a strange error with the Human Task Notification email. All mail settings look fine, but we are receiving "Error 500 -- internal server error" in the notification email. As far as we can tell, the email is sent to the right receipt, which is specified by expression, and Worklistapp is working properly. The error is complaining that the authentication of the user "workflowsystem" fails. I believe that it's a system user, but have no idea why it fails.
This is the notification sent to the assignee and the followings are the details of the error:

Looks like you may be specifying ad-hoc email address (by expression) in the notification configuration, but have not configured the notification for “secure” notification.
If the notification is actionable, then the runtime impersonates the participant to ensure that the form renders as it would in the browser. However if the configuration of recipient is ad-hoc (i.e. an email address rather than participant type) then the attempt to impersonate fails, in this case trying to be “workflowsystem” user, which isn’t a real user in the directory.
You can send a notification to an explicit email, but the notification has to configured as secure, which means they just get a link to the task in the message body.

  • Direct Link to Next Task via Email

I would like to send a direct link to the next process task via e-mail.  In this scenario a user would receive notification to complete a task assigned to them and be able to access that task directly from a link in the mail.
I am currently able to send out notifications and provide test links in that notification.  What I do not yet know is how to link directly to the next task.
Is there a WebDynpro app provided by GP where you can pass a process task id as a parameter and link directly to that task in runtime?  If so how do I retrieve the task id of the next task from the process?
    Best Regards

    Hi,
Before the process step for which you want to send the notification to the user add another process step using the pre-defined callable object Send Notification. You need to assign a mail template to that CO. So create a mail template with a standard message body and include the following as a replacement for the next task URL :
    `
    writeln(sy.workitemurl);
    `
Assign the send mail to the same processor of the next action and when the user gets the mail the URL of the next task will be present in the mail message. Clicking that he/she can directly open the next task in portal.
    Thanks,
    Dipankar

    Dear all community members,
I am using email notification service in human task to receive email notification if task is assigned to me. I have configured email notification in human task & I do receive the email in my inbox as assignee.
The default email subject is like [Action Required: TASK_TITLE], I want to remove this [Action Required:] from email subject.
I tried setting <%null%> in Notification Header in .task file but the email subject is still has Action Required.

  • BPEL Human Task: how to remove task details section from notification email

This is concerning the human task component of SOA Suite 11g. Upon task assignment, the assignee receives an email notification with an administrator configured text. Below this text the task details are automatically added. How can this be removed? Marking the notification as 'secure' also removes the administrator configured text. But that I'd like to keep. Only the automatically added task details section needs to go. Any hints?

This configuration is available in the following navigation. Workflow Administrator Web Applications > Oracle Applications Manager > Workflow Manager > Service Components > Workflow Notification Mailer > Edit > Advanced > Message Generation section > Templates. You can refer to the "Oracle Workflow Administrator's Guide" > "Modifying Your Message Templates" for more information.
Please note that this applies to ALL the outbound notifications, not specific for Purchasing notifications.

  • OIM 11g - Email Notifications configured in human task is not working

    Hi,
My requirement is to send email to the assignee whenever a request is assigned to the user. I created a custom bpel workflow and configured email notiifcation in the human task for the status 'assign'. I have configured Email driver with following properties:
    Sender Addresses = <[email protected]>
    Default Sender Address = <[email protected]>
    Outgoing Mail Server = <Exchange server host>
Outgoing Mail Server Port = 25
Outgoing Mail Server Security = none
    Outgoing Default From Addr = <[email protected]>
I have also set the Notification Mode to 'Email' in Workflow Notification Properties.
However when a request is assigned to the user, email notifications are not sent.
I do not see any errors in the logs. In Enterprise Manager console I navigated to SOA Infrastructure Home > Human Workflow Engine > Notification Management and I could see outgoing email notifications corresponding to the workflow instance with the status showing 'Sent'.
Also the Exchange server that is being used has already been tested for provisioning emails from OIM and it works fine for provisioning.
Any pointers/troubleshooting tip to resolve this issue is greatly appreciated.

  • Human Task email notification and IMS

    Hi Chaps,
I have a requirement to enable the email notification functionality embedded in Human Tasks. This email functionality presumably emails everyone for that role based on their email information located in Enterprise Manager -> Security -> my relam (?), however when I log into Business Process WorkSpace and try to edit the email address - it states that "Do not use this channel for BPEL User Notification or Human Workflow; it is not stored in the identify management system and will not work"
Does this mean that I have to directly alter the LDAP Directory (somehow?) or will logging into Enterprise Manager and changing it manually suffice?
Any help you could provide would be most welcome!
    Thanks..

    http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10224/bp_hwfmodel.htm#BABICIAH
Also, if you are trying to send emails without using LDAP, then simply configure the email driver in */em and assign the roles to whom you want to send the email to.

  • Is there some configuration on human task to delay email generation

We are having a requirement to send notification when some user approve a workflow request.
on approval by one user and on being assigned to some other user we raise event using onAssigned and onComplete callback,
these events trigger another BPEL process which modifies a table.
In the email notification on approval we want to capture changes done by bpel called on event raised using callback.
Is there some way we can delay email notification generation i.e wait for 15 - 20 seconds?

Is it possible to sent email from Human Task notification to several users?

  • BPM human task actionable user notification email not working

    Hi ,
I am triing to send actionable email notification to assignees through the notification tab of the human task. The email settings in the em console has done fine so that I am getting the notification email without any fail.
But the problem over here is the actionable buttons / links (Like Approve or Reject ) are not there inside the email body.
I have checked the make notification actionable check box in jdev human task as well as configured the actionable email address in the server em console.Still the email body is not having the action items.

    Hi All,
I got the solution for it. Now the assignee is able to get the actionable email.
the mistake i did is during the human task notification tab configuration I have put separate email id in the recipient column of first row.You need to do is ,choose Assignees from the drop down value , check the check box make notification actionable, then set the proper email in the email attribute property of the assigned user (user creation time).
    Thanks

  • Complete Task with Payload Problem  -- no Human Task Drop Handler

I'm reading section 26.4.1 of Developer’s Guide for Oracle SOA Suite 11g Release 1 (11.1.1) E10224-01 where it refers to figure 26-5 Human Task Drop Handler for Creating the Task Display Form of section 26.4 Creating a Task Display Form.

  • Add a Human Task in BPEL but it shows as an Auto Task in BPA

    Hi, all,
I create a BPMN flow in BPA and mapping to BPEL. And I add a Human Task in jDeveloper, and saved back to BPA server. But the problem is the updated BPMN flow shows that I added a Auto Task in BPA. Could you help me on that? Thanks in advance.
    Best Regards,
    Bill

    Hi Bill,
Prefatory a quick intro on the basic idea of the BPA concept and a few personal recommendations. In general all changes on the control flow should be initiated top-down from the business process, which means your requirement becomes relevant only in certain cases. If the refinement of the BPEL process is going beyond the technical implementation, then the BPMN diagram itself needs to be corrected. That being said, in certain cases it may be sensible to make use of the improvement proposal feature (e.g. the IT developer recognizes the need of an additional service invocation, so that the control flow of the business process has to be refined).
Referring to your issue these changes are displayed as Automated Activities (abstract) in the superior business process (in BPA). For this reason some activities require a different approach when it comes to accepting or rejecting by the business users. The description below provides an overview about how-to add activities in BPEL subsequently (as improvement proposals) and how they will be represented in the superior business process after synchronization (personal recommendations).
