Response.sendError(200)does not work in Tomcat
Hi,everyone,
I'm using a servlet named as "Router" to receive messages from client. Because the processing time of "Router"is quite long, I want it to send back the "200 OK" response to the client at the beginning of the service() method. My Router.java is like this:
public class Router extends HttpServlet
public void service(HttpServletRequest request, HttpServletResponse response)
throws ServletException
// send a response code "200 OK" to the client
response.sendError(200);
//processing the received message
My program works well in ServletExec server, but in Tomcat, it does not work. In tomcat, the 200 OK can only be sent back after the whole service() process is finished. The "response.sendError(200);" seems does not work at all. Can anyone help me to resolve it?
Thanks a lot!
grass
hi, greatmazinger,
Thank you very much! I changed my code
"reponse.sendError(200);" to:
"reponse.setStatus(200);
response.flushBuffer();"
Then the response was sent back immediately.
Thanks a lot!
Ying

I have a manual that contains headings and index entries that contain less than and greater than characters, < and >. The Publish to Responsive HTML5 function escapes these correctly in the main body of the text but does not work correctly in either the Contents or the Index of the generated HTML. In the Contents the words are completely missing and in the index entries the '\' characters that are required in the markers remain in the entry but the leading less than symbol and the first character of the word is deleted; hence what should appear as <dataseries> appears as \ataseries\>. I believe this is a FMv12 bug. Has anyone else experienced this? Is the FM team aware and working on a fix. Any suggestions for a workaround?
The Index issue is more complicated since in order to get the < and > into the index requires the entry itself to be escaped. So, in order to index '<x2settings>' you have to key '\<x2settings\>'. Looking at the generated index entry in the .js file we see '<key name=\"\\2settings\\>\">. This is a bit of a mess and produces an index entry of '\2settings\>'. This ought to be '<key name=\"<x2settings>\" >'. I have tested this fix and it works - but the worst of it is that the first character of the index entry has been stripped out. Consequently I cannot fix this with a few global changes - and I have a lot of index entries of this type. I'm looking forward to a response to this since I cannot publish this document in its current state.

Tomcat does not work when using only netcfg to start network
hello!
for myself i wrote a script to connect automatically to a wireless network using netcfg. i do not start my network via the daemon (/etc/rc.d/network).
i have a project and so i want to use tomcat. but it does not work correct, i can start it, but i can't connect via "localhost:8080". when i start my network using the network daemon it works! apache runs fine, but i need tomcat!
can someone help me please?
thx, marvwhere is "lo" enabled in the network script? i did not found it and/or i have no idea which function enables it.
can you help me please? can i just copy the lines of code to my own script and it will enable lo?

IChat 4 AV does not work in Leopard
iChat 4 AV does not work in OS 10.5. iChat 3 worked in OS 10.4.x with no problems. Why the problem?
I have iMac G5 20-inch with 2.5-gb memory using Motorola SB5101 cable modem provided by ISP Roadrunner (Brighthouse Bakersfield CA).
I am relatively new to the Apple world (12 months switching from the dark side). I am not a hardware-software engineer. Read discussions, and tried a few things to no avail; eg, no where to set port settings on cable modem.
It appears most people paid for something that does not work. So, now what? Is Apple working on a fix? If so, any idea when it will be released?Got similar problems. Interesting, I can chat with Test Buddies but not to real buddies. Here is the error message:

JMF on Dell Vostro 200 JMF not working
We have new Dell Vostro 200 and the JMF does not work.
Gee. Tom_Jansen, what a useful response. The audio chipset in the Vostro appears not to be compatible with JMF, a software product that hasn't been updated in several years. The user is looking for some assistance, maybe a firmware update someone knows about or has tested, or a patch to JMF. You have an unfortunate existence if the extent of your knowledge is to post responses like that.

I have thee Mac computers with Mac OS 10.6.8, one of which is a Mac Pro. No matter how many updates I install from Adobe, their Flash Player does not work on any of these 3 computers. I don't know how to contact Adobe Systems about this problem, but I think it is their responsibility to make sure that their so-called "universal" software works proplerly on a relatively recent operating system like OS 10.6.8 that is still in widespread use. When you install the updates, nothing happens -- not even an error message. What is the point of a universal player that is not universal? It works fine on my MacBook Pro with OS 9 Mavericks, but it does not work at all -- indeed, has never worked -- on my 3 Macs with OS 10.6.8. Has anyone contacted Adobe Systems to find out why the Flash Player does not work with OS 10.6.8 and what they plan to do about it?
Where are you getting Flash from?
Get the appropriate dmg installer here and then run it.
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/distribution3.html
If it still won't install, do these two things: First uninstall any Flash by going into the second level Hard Drive Library>Internet Plug-ins, and trash the Flash Player.plugin and flashplayer.xpt. Then boot into Safe Boot, Shift at the startup chime (give it much longer than a usual boot) and run the installer while booted in Safe Boot. -
I am trying to hook up a logitech revue unit to my hitachi hdtv. It requires an hdmi input. When we first got fios, (qip 6200 p2 stb), no amount of fiddling with cables, settings and what not got hdmi to work. After much frustration, etc. said to hell with it and went with component output. Worked fine. Now I need hdmi. TV keeps saying "no video signal. " Tried all three hdmi tv ports and tried all tv input option settings. No go. It did come on intermittently , but only after an un-acceptable delay. Yes! I did disconnect the component outputs before trying the HDMI. have rebooted and resetted the world to no avail. According to the various forums, this Motorola hdmi fiasco has been ongoing for almost three years. I want a fix, ASAP. Or at least a reliable date for a fix. BTW I am an EE+ computer science engineer. I've tried the entire customer service 101 stuff so please don't tell me to change my cables.
Boris {edited for privacy}As I said in my posting, I am a professional. I would not have bought the unit had I not seen the logitech listing of compatible STB. Also, be assured that I have hooked it up correctly. There does not appear to be any way to do it wrong.
1. STB hdmi OUT to Revue hdmi IN
2. Revue HDMI OUT to TV HDMI IN Tried all three ports. NO Go.
How pray tell could I have screwed that up?
Read my post please. Went through the cable **bleep**
Revue HDMI out to TV works okay I get a signal and can start the initialization procedure. I have a wifi problem which
I may fix by opting ethernet if high gain antenna does not fix. As I said, I am a professional..i have read thoroughly the Actiontec (router), logitech and Verizon Forums. This STB misbehavior is endemic to to the benighted Motorola STB and has been endemic from the start. Obviously, Logitec testing of the Motorola STB was inadequate. My original question
stands, since the MOtorola STB does not work on HDMI. Please confine your reply to a substantive response to my question.
1. When will the Verizon STB be made to provide fully functional HDMI outputs.
if not that,
2. When will Verizon provide a fully functional STB?

Minetest translation does not work on my machine.
Hey there.
After trying my luck in the official Minetest forums a week ago and got nothing more than the initial “try this-and-that” thing as response in the German discussion section and no reply at all in the regular discussion section I decided to ask on Reddit on last Saturday afternoon, too. On Reddit my question only got 3 upvotes and no comments.
Since no-one seems to know what’s going on I decided to post my question here, too.
It sems like the translation feature in Minetest does not work on my machine for unknown reason.
The language files are there and according to it’s oputput and the PKGBUILD Minetest was compiled with gettext support. LANG and LC_MESSAGES are properly set (I even tried LC_ALL). Localization works properly in all other applications that support localization.
Here’s some relevant system information.
$ uname -rms

According to the discussion in the German discussion section in the Minetest forums I tried to set language = DE (and variants like de_DE with or without .utf8 in all possible variants) in minetest.conf but it didn’t change anything. Also: Here’s the output of running Minetest with --verbose parameter.

Since it seems to work for everyone else (otherwise there might be more replies to my quesions in several places, I guess *g*) I’m pretty sure that’s a local problem on my machine. But since gettext properly works on my machine in all and every application that use it I have no clue at all where to start debugging.
Hints are highly appreciated Thanks in advance!

FLASH PLAYER 10.3.183.7 DOES NOT WORK IN FULLSCREEN
FAO: Mr CHRIS CAMPBELL
Hello Chris
You're probably getting this from all angles but the newest update to Flash Player (10.3.183.7) JUST DOES NOT WORK PROPERLY.
I keep my browsers up to date and as of today (5 Sept 2011) Flash WORKS in "small pane in browser" mode (for example, in Youtube) BUT GOES BLANK AS SOON AS FULLSCREENED.
Note that overlay captions and the pause / play graphics DO all work - it is only the video decompression that doesn't - leave screen blank and black.
This is BOTH in FireFox 7.0 and in latest Google Chrome: I have carefully uninstalled & replaced Flash form the links you posted here and IT STILL DOES NOT WORK in fullscreen.
You really should NOT release new version of auto-updating code like this that are not properly tested: this has mucked up video viewing for millions of people needlessly.
Is it because of the new accelerator support ? who knows. This is a mid-life Toshiba Satellite Pro (we don't all go out and buy new PCs every ten weeks like you developers do) and it has a P4 and standard onboard Intel 82852 graphics: perfectly fine up to last week. But it has 64MB of graphics space and I see that 10.3.183.7 now "requires" 128MB ? You just cannot make assumptions like that : I bet there are 50 million plus PCs out there with 64MB (or less) VGA RAM.
Adobe is a lovely product, but this is a complete and utter bal*ls-up as we in the UK call it: please excuse my anglo-saxon directness. Sort it out, please.
Mike, London, exasperated
Hi Chris
Thanks for your rapid feedback.
YES - you are right - turning off hardware accelerate FIXES it on this machine.
(For anyone else trying this, note that if your PC is busy you may not be able to get the Right-click menu to work while the video is displaying, so PAUSE it first, then right click in the pane, choose "Settings", and UNtick the hardware acceleration tickbox. Then unpause, and bob's your uncle.)
Interesting: Chris - I also notice that Not All Videos Do it - some are fine (adverts seem to be, on youtube) - but this (below) is an example of the one which will not fullscreen with the HW acceleration on (nice watching, too :-)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lb3VWZj_I6g&list=PL0F01AFE18471E7B8&index=1
NB Might it have anything to do with the transcoding YouTube are supposedly doing, over to VP8 ? I wonder if they change the content of the stream, when you choose fullscreen perhaps ? And so perhaps confusing the HW accelerator which may not know VP8 ?
Thanks again for rapid response. GOOD LUCK ALL

Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade
Discoverer Reports does not work in Multi-org Environment after R12 Upgrade. Created a simple report using the below query:
SELECT po_header_id, segment1, type_lookup_code
FROM po_headers
WHERE segment1 = '5000002'
Query works perfectly fine; when i set the ORG_CONTEXT in the database using the command:
EXEC mo_global.set_policy_context('S',129)
But the report doesn't fetch any data when ran from an Org based responsibility. We've ensured that the MO: Operting Unit is set accurately and general Oracle reports (PLSQL Program OR XML Publisher) are working perfectly fine.
===========
I followed the steps provided in Metalink Note: 732826.1 - It works for some responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is not set; but fails for those responsibilities where the MO: Security Profile is set.
I am looking for specific solution that works irrespective of either the MO: Operating Unit profile is set of not.
Please suggest. Appreciate your response.

CMC does not work after deploying to Websphere
Description of Problem or Question:
We have an installation of BO XI R2 SP2 on Tomcat (default installation).
Now we installed Websphere Application Server 6.0 on the same server and deployed BO war files on it.
The existing installation of Infoview & CMC on Tomcat works as it did before.
But, CMC that runs on Websphere does not work.

CMC doesnot work. IE Says "HTTP 500 Internal Server Error".
What has already been tried (where have you searched for a solution to your question/problem):
On searching the web-forums, I found this:
http://www.forumtopics.com/busobj/viewtopic.php?t=112151
So, I tried to install WCA for Websphere. The scenario mentioned in that article deals with new installation of BO.
But, since ours is an existing installation, I cannot install WCA for websphere.
I do not want to re-install BO.
Please advise.
Thanks,

Configuration Template Builder WL8.1 does not work
Hello,
After spending nearly 2 days now trying to get a Configuration Template
built, I've concluded this simply does not work. Has anyone used the
Config Template builder to package a semi-complex application on top of WLI?
I'm trying to have 2 of my applications, the JMS and JDBC resources,
and a WLI event generator packaged up for easy deployment to someone
else's server configuration. The problem with this is that there are
required resources for WLI, namely a database. The Pointbase database
included for WLI does not get included in the template automatically.
There are also some flat-out bugs:
If you choose to include a resource adapter "application", such as
jms-xa-adp.rar, the template builder does not bundle this in the
template and deploy it correctly. The template builder restricts you to
putting applications in the relative path starting at ./
For jms-xa-adp.rar, its original location is in $WL_HOME/server/lib, and
the template builder defaults to put it in ./lib of your template.
However, when you create a domain with the template, jms-xa-adp.rar does
not get placed in your ./lib directory. This causes you to then go and
manually edit your config.xml to point back at $WL_HOME/server/lib or to
manually copy jms-xa-adp.rar into your ./lib directory (which the
template mechanism should do for you).
Relative paths in the config.xml file require you to execute the config
builder from the directory of the domain you are making a template for.
The template builder should instead be smart enough to realize that
relative paths in the config.xml file are relative to the directory that
the config.xml is in, not the one you are running the template builder
from. You'll get an error when trying to create the template cause it
won't find the resources if you're not in that directory.
If anyone has successfully used this to package a WLI application in a
template, please share your experiences and how to do so. In the
meantime, I'm claiming there is no way to nicely package up a server
configuration for a WLI app in Weblogic, and this is a big shortcoming.
Weblogic needs a simple transferrable way of creating server
configurations (it tries to do this with the template, but that is
failing). With JBoss, for example, you simply copy your server directory
into another installation. This doesn't work with Weblogic unfortunately
because it puts hard-coded paths in the config.xml file.
ThanksRuss,
Thank you for the detailed responses. The only one I'm currently
struggling with still is the #5, with the scripts between the two. One
of the major benefits of using a J2EE App Server is supposed to be the
portability between servers. I find it disconcerting that BEA Weblogic
restricts me to the platform I created the domain on by creating
platform-specific startup/shutdown scripts for only the platform created
on. It's understandable that a script converter would be difficult, but
at least both the .sh/.cmd files should be created from the first time
you make a domain. If the user only wants one or the other, they can
delete the appropriate one. It's also understandable that the
users/deployers shouldn't have to manually convert a startup/shutdown
script to take the domain to a different box.
JBoss clearly has BEA beat on ease of deployment here. Their model is
the concept I'm thinking of: you have some generic startup/shutdown
scripts that can load a platform-independent server configuration. You
truly can copy directories as-is between JBoss installations.
I was hoping to package up a server domain for use on any of the
supported platforms, but since I don't have the time to manually convert
the startup/shutdown scripts, I'm going to have to tell people it's only
for Solaris now.
Hopefully BEA can fix this in a future SP. There's no need for this
platform-dependency. Also, if the Windows version can generate both
scripts at creation time, then the Solaris should be able to do this as
well (or at least give you the option).
Thanks again for the replies

Hi Steven,
I have several comments and questions about your last two posts. I will try to
address them in order.
1) "The Pointbase database included for WLI does not get included in the template
automatically."
By default the template builder only includes the *.cmd and *.sh files in the
template from your domain directory. If you begin building with an existing
domain template all files that were in the template will get included. This was
done because there is no way for the builder to automatically determine all the
files that are required by your template/domain and we steered away from recursively
including all files from the directory so that unused files were not needlessly
included. We can extrapolate some files based on the application paths in the
config.xml, but the rest is left up to the template builder to be aware of what
is needed for their domain to run. So, if you need the Pointbase *.dbn and *.wal
files included in your template just select these files on the ?Add Files? panel
of the template builder and add them to the ?Domain Directory?.
2) ?If you choose to include a resource adapter "application", such as jms-xa-adp.rar,
the template builder does not bundle this in the template and deploy it correctly.?
The template builder considers application files to be in two categories: Imported
or Internal. When you are at the ?Add Applications? panel of the builder you
will see a checklist of all the applications that are in the domain you selected.
On the right hand side there are two text fields. The top one displays the application
path as it is currently set in the config.xml of that domain. The bottom field
will be different depending on what category the application falls into. As you
click on each application in the list, you may notice that the bottom field may
change from an editable field titled ?Imported Application Path? to a non-editable
field titled ?Internal Application Path?. The difference between the two categories
is that an ?Imported? application?s files will be included in the template jar.
An ?Internal? application?s files will not be included in the template jar because
they are considered internal to the weblogic installation. The jms-xa-adp.rar
should fall into the internal category and should not get included in your template.
From what you are describing it sounds like the builder attempted to import that
application when it should not have. In an attempt to recreate the problem you
are seeing I deployed that Connector Module through the WLS console and ended
up with an application path of ?C:\bea\weblogic81\server\lib? where ?C:\bea\weblogic81?
is my WL_HOME (a.k.a. USER_INSTALL_DIR). If I then attempt to build a template
from this domain, the builder recognizes this as an internal path and does not
include it inside my template. If the current application path you had looks
different from the one above, that may explain why the builder was attempting
to import it. What was the value of the ?Current Application Path? for that application
deployment?
3) ?Relative paths in the config.xml file require you to execute the config builder
from the directory of the domain you are making a template for.?
The builder is ?smart? enough to determine relative paths. You should not have
to invoke it from the domain directory you are working with. There is a known
bug in the WebLogic Platform 8.1.1.0 release of the template builder that will
cause it to not find files with relative paths in your domain directory if the
application path in the config.xml is just a ?.?. If this is the case, you should
see a FileNotFoundException when you attempt to create the template. This will
be fixed in SP2 and you can work around this problem by changing those paths to
?./? instead. If this was not the case, what was the path the wizard choked

4) ?Looking through the config file, it seems that it's all of the WLI components
that have absolute paths in the config file. In addition, BEA_WLS_DBMS_ADK has
an absolute path, not sure if that is WLI or WLS. ?
BEA_WLS_DBMS_ADK is an integration application. If you created the original
domain using the configuration wizard most of the applications in an integration
enabled domain will reference paths inside of you installation directory or ?internal?
paths. For instance, I used the wizard to create a ?Basic WebLogic Integration
Domain?. The path for that application in this domain is: ?C:\bea\weblogic81/integration/adapters/dbms/lib/BEA_WLS_DBMS_ADK.ear?
where ?C:\bea\weblogic81? is my WL_HOME or USER_INSTALL_DIR. When I load this
domain into the builder it shows this application as ?internal? and the ?Internal
Application Path? is "$USER_INSTALL_DIR$/integration/adapters/dbms/lib/BEA_WLS_DBMS_ADK.ear".
This will be set as the path value of this application in the config.xml that
will be included in the template you build. When you later use the Configuration
Wizard on this template it will substitute the $USER_INSTALL_DIR$ to the value
of the installation directory of the machine you are creating it on.
If you were to Change these to relative paths, as Mark previously suggested,
it will only work if you copy the domain directory to the same location relative
to your installation directory on the target machine. Also, if you copy the domain
in this manner you will more than likely run into problems with your start/stop
scripts and be forced to hand modify all the paths contained within. The configuration
wizard tries to alleviate these problems and make the configuration entirely portable.
This gives the user who creates the domain from your template the ability to
put it anywhere they want regardless of the paths in the config.xml.
5) ?However, there is another major problem with the Template Builder: it only
includes the startup/shutdown script for the platform you create the template
on. ???I built the template on Solaris with the UNIX scripts. However, I tried
to create a new config on Windows with this template, and the scripts were not
converted to .bat files!?
As I stated previously, the builder will only include *.cmd and *.sh scripts
into your template by default. If you created the domain on a unix platform using
the configuration wizard it will not extract the *.cmd files since these aren?t
considered to be useful on unix. If you were then to attempt building a template
from this domain and take it onto a windows platform, it will obviously be missing
any windows scripts. Conversely, the wizard will extract *.sh scripts on windows
because they can still be useful if a user has an MKS or Cygwin type environment
installed. The config wizard and template builder do not have the ability to convert
scripts. The builder will only include existing scripts that are in your domain
directory and automatically determine any necessary string substitutions that
will be needed. Please note that since WebLogic is only supported on the NT/2K/XP
versions of windows you will find that the wizards use ?.cmd? files and not ?.bat?
files since these are more commonly associated with Win 95/98/ME.
I will be happy to answer any more questions you may have and would also like
to take a look at your domain configuration to try and get a better understanding
of the problems you are encountering.
thanx,

After Recovery with CD Satellite C660-1FE keyboard does NOT work
Hello,
A month ago I purchased a Toshiba C660-1FE. After three weeks my HD broke down. I bought a new HD from Western Digital and replaced the broken HD. As I did not make an recovery image of my HD, I had to order the Product recovery discs off the Toshiba website (3 discs, of which disc 1 and 3 were the only one's required for installation).
Now, I have the problem that my laptop keyboard does not work. I am currently using a USB keyboard and mouse to replace my keyboard and touchpad of the laptop.
The laptop keyboard works fine in BIOS. Therefore, I hope it's just a driver problem.
I have:
tried finding and installing lots of drivers on from the toshiba website, no result.
tried changing settings in the bios (usb enable/disable).
tried to fix the problem by re-installing the entire computer again several times.
The keyboard seems to work until windows loads. When the system is starting up I can press caps lock and num lock and the green lights come on. This all stops working once the windows startup symbol appears.
Perhaps a second problem in the device manager: under the display-adapter, 2 subcategories have exclamation marks: it says Mobile Intel(R) 4 series express chipset family twice! I can't seems to fix these with any drivers I can find either. When I check the settings I have this message (google translate since it was in dutch):
+The digital signature for the drivers for this device is required, can not be verified. Possible after a recent hardware or software change a file that is installed incorrectly signed or damaged, or is malicious software installed from an unknown source. (Code 52)+
+You need to restart the computer to this device changes to take effect.+ (obviously I tried that too)
Can someone please give me some help? I am at the end of my wits.
Sincerely,
DanielHi MisterX,
thank you for your response. I have tried these things and there is no such thing as PS2/keyboard in device manager. It's as if the Hardware is not even recognizable in windows. I am starting to doubt whether I got the right Backup CD.
I wrote the following e-mail to [email protected]:
+Dear Toshiba,+
+after receiving the recovery CD's for my toshiba c660-1FE, it turns out that the drivers for the keyboard and touchpad are not installed. I have tried many things to get around this but it seems to me that I have received the wrong product recovery CD's. The chipset drivers are not the right ones, the overall layout of this version of windows 7 is different from before and when looking for answers in the toshiba forum I have concluded that the recovery CD's could be the wrong ones.+
+My laptop: Satellite C660-1FE+
+serial: 5B378048K+
+Part-nr: PSC0LE 02M0TU26DU+
+Recovery CD's I received are CD's 1-3 with serial R14254DU+
+Would you be so kind to check whether these CD's should be 100% compatible with my laptop?+
+This would be greatly appreciated,+
+Daniel+
MisterX, do you know any other emails I can forward this too? Or anyone who could perhaps tell me if I got the right CD's? They are taking their time to respong to this...
Kind regards,
Daniel
