Restarting the workflow items in ECC 6.0 system

In 4.6 version we restart the workflow items from SWI1 tcode, but in ECC 6.0 we are not able to do the same from SWi1 , please provide pointers to restart the workitems in upgraded system.

Hi,
You can choose the workitem and click on the Display technical workitem and from edit-change mode
You will get the options on the left side...fill the container and click on the execute after error option to restart the workitem.

Hi all,
Here is quite basic question related to MSS portal:
Could you please advice how the workflow items are transferred from SAP ECC 6.0 to MSS portal?
I guess it is done via some kind of XML file...but does anybody have any better idea how to find this file or a program responsible for its creation in SAP?
We need to remove some items from the file to protect them to be shown in MSS portal.
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

WF items which are available in SBWP is shown in UWL ie in MSS. Its one to one mapping
You can use filtering to hide some items in UWL.

Restart the Workflow

Hello Friends,
I have a problem. Let me explain my workflow design before explaining the problem. This is related to Service Entry Sheet workflow.
Design.
In this workflow, I have added a method for identifying agents. if it doesnt get any agent, it will divert the workflow to another path called as missing agents and workflow got stuck here. Like this i have 30 secnario in PRD.
Idear behind this desing is whenever we get missing agents, we will correct our data and restart the workflow again.
Problem: I want to take ur advice before starting this operation. Two best options are aviable for starting the workflow again.
1. Delete the exsisting workitem logically and create an event through SWUE
2. Set the workitem in error state and restart it through SWPR.
Please give me ur valuable solution. If you have some other option, please share it with me.

Use everything the same workflow. Make use of fork. This workflow will get completed unless the required result has been reached. This you can make sure by putting the whole step in a Loop Ultil step. It is not good to always create new Workflow instance. You should use the same Workflow instance.
As a workaround you should use those SWPR and logical deletion transaction but no client will want that. There is aflaw in design which should have a bad reputation on the Wflow expert who developed it. Think on a broader aspect and do not try to teach me about production environment I think I know better than you about production environment.

How to get the objects from a workflow item's container

Dear all,
We need to get the value of a variable in the container of a workflow item. I can get the workflow item list using function module SAP_WAPI_CREATE_WORKLIST. Then how can I get the corresponding container elements' value?
I tried function mofule SAP_WAPI_GET_OBJECTS, but the returned table OBJECTS and OBJECTS_2 are both empty.

Well, I think you will be getting the value as BORNAME:BORKEY. Get the KEYVALUE into your local variable. And use the <a href="http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw2004s/helpdata/en/c5/e4acef453d11d189430000e829fbbd/frameset.htm">BOR Macros</a> to get the instance and desired contents.

Standard Tool / Program to Change the Workflow Status

Hello,
I would like to know if there is any standard program to Change Status of the Workflow from IN PROCESS to ERROR. I know that there are Standard SAP tools using which we can restart the Workflows that are in ERROR Status. But for changing the Status of the Workflow from IN PROCESS to ERROR, I've not come across any tools / programs. I would really appreciate your help. Thanks in advance.

sorry correction ..FM SWW_WI_CALLBACK_CHANGE_S can be used to correct the status without any check.
I came across this issue where a dialogue workitem was logically deleted in order to remove it from the user inbox. Later an incident was created that the work-item is still needed to perform the rest of the workflow action. The solution should have been to complete the work-item by executing the terminating event of work-item or complete the work-item manually(SWIA). But instead some one performed logical deletion.
so in order to revive the workflow i needed to change the status form logically deleted to ready status. for this i found this FM which successfully changed the status form logically deleted to ready status. It though lost the agent assignment but i forwarded it manually to respective user.

I am facing the following problems in displaying the workflow Items in UWL
I am able to see the work flow items in SAP inbox but not in UWL.
The following are my issues and questions
1. what is the type of system to be created in portal.
BI JDBC System
BI ODBO-Compliant OLAP System
KM Windows System
Portal Tenant System
SAP system using connection string
SAP system using dedicated application server
SAP system with load balancing
Web Service System using WSDL URL
2. what is the configuration need to be done in Universal Worklist & Workflow
3. Any other configurations need to be done in WAS server and SAP server.
Please anyone give me the solutions and it is urgent.

Hi,
1. What is the type of system to be created in portal ?
This depends on what type of a system are you trying to connect to. If it's an ECC system or R3 system, you may use SAP system using dedicated application server. Give an alias to it and check the permissions of that system.
2. What is the configuration need to be done in Universal Worklist & Workflow ?
You have register this system now. Go to System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist Administration -> UWL Configuration -> Chose New -> Enter the Name, System Alias and select WebFlowConnector.
In the System Administration -> System Configuration -> Universal Worklist Administration -> Registration for all types of Universal Worklist WebFlow, register item types by clicking "Register Item types for all systems". Alternatively, you can also click on "Register items types for new systems".
3. Any other configurations need to be done in WAS server and SAP server ?
The portal user should have corresponding user on the ECC or R3 system or whichever backend system you are trying to connect to. This user should be authorized to have RFC access to function group SWK1 and transaction SWK1.

GRC AC v10 SPM WF - Workflow Item not showing up in WF Inbox

GRC AC v10 - SP12
The outlook email notification for the Workflow Item goes out, but there is nothing in the NWBC Inbox for the WF Item. Subsitution is setup correctly.
Any ideas?

this is probably be a silly question but what substitution did you set up for ZFF_CTL_01? I assume the item is in that user's inbox. Which user is meant to be receiving?
I also noticed this KB article (1589130) which mentions the delegated person needs GRAC_REQ authorisation. Have you checked if security access issue?
There was also mention that the delegated approver does not appear in the MSMP instance runtime (your screen shot suggests same situation unless you have not set up the delegation). SP14 delivers the fix or refer to 1915928 - UAM: Delegated Approver is not visible in the Instance status
Possibly have a look at both of them to see if they resolve your issue.

Delete Workflow items from workflow inbox.

Hello All,
We are using workflow in MSS for Compensation Management. As part of this an email will be sent to the managers when a compensation needs an approval. There are some workflow items under workflow inbox ( SBWP ) . How can I delete emails which I don't want to execute. I don't see any delete button. I can see delete buttons for the documents under inbox, but these emails that I want to delete are under workflow in Inbox.

You are refering to the emails in the inbox ( SBWP ) where I can delete my emails with the help of a delete button. But I am referring to the workflow items that are present under INBOX -> WORKFLOW. There is no delete button on these workflow items. If we execute these workflow items then they will be deleted automatically. I am looking for a solution by which I can delete (clean up) all the workflow items that are not executed from last year so that we can be ready for our compensation for this year.

I had configured the UWL and I am able to get the mails of the documents in the inbox of SAP. But I am not able to get the workflow items. Even I had maintained the task in SWFVISU.

How to restart an workflow if ended in error at SEND Mail step.

Hello All
      I am facing some problem in restarting the error workflow.
Issue is:
   Workflow ended in error at the mail notification step, since the mail id is not filled into the container so there is no address (mail id) and ended in error.
   How to restart these kinds of workflow in the system?, we have tried to change the container value by assigning mail id and restarted the workflow but still went into error.
Is it possible to restart an workflow which ended in error other than rule resolution.

I think you went in the write approach. I think you have to change the container properly by populating the ADDRESSTRING container element. Also check whether type of email recipient in your container is et to Email.

Error Occured when trying to progress through the workflow

Tried to move a project from one stage to the next in the workflow and an error popped up saying,
Workflow: Workflow Terminated
An error has occurred in the workflow.
Now when you open the project in PWA instead of seeing the image of the workflow there is a message that reads,
Stage Status image - There is no workflow status to communicate because the project is not yet created
Any thoughts....

Try restarting the workflow. If that doesn't work, then you need to provide a whole lot of details on how the workflow is built, what version you are running, was it working before etc.
