Restore through DFU mode, lost content!

i restored my ipod through DFU mode, and lost all the apps, music, and all other content. I restored it through the previously synced version, and still no content. How do i get my apps back?

I understand. Thanks. Maybe I should rephrase my question.
I had come to the conclusion that I needed to do a restore of my iPod from a backup, since I was having a big problem. Since I was going to restore from the same backup, regardless of which method I chose, would more data from that same backup have been restored if I had chosen the "recovery mode" instead of "DFU"? I'm asking because it seems that once you get past the factory OS re-installation, the steps to restore from a backup seem to be the same, no matter which method you choose. So, would using "recovery" mode restore more data from a backup than "DFU" mode would? Like, would data be pulled from a backup any differently if I had chosen "recovery"? Thanks again, and sorry if I sound redundant.

My iPhone charges normally trought power outlet, But it won't charge or recognize trough USB connection on my MacBook, even in restore or DFU mode.
Please help me! I'm stuck on restore mode.

I tried on 3 different MacBooks, it doesn't work.
I have some updates though... It is recognized on my car sound system, and It is working fine when connected to a windows PC, I was able to normally activate it... so the problem is not on the connector, Macs just don't recognize it.

    - Plug the device's USB cable into your computer only.
    - Hold down the device's Home button as you connect the USB cable to it.
    - When you see the Connect to iTunes screen, release the Home button. If you don't see this screen, try steps 1 through 3 one more time.

  • My iPhone 3gs is stuck on apple logo even after a restore on DFU mode, what can I do?

Hi guys, I just got an iPhone 3gs from my girlfriend and it was working perfectly, I restore it from the phone by erasing all data on it, and it wont boot after that, it is stuck on the apple logo, I've tried restoring it in recovery mode and even in DFU mode, but it's not working, what should I do?

If you live near an apple store make an appointment.  They will perform a DFU restore using known good equipment.
If that doesn't work you probably have liquid damage.

  • Unable to restore from DFU mode (v4.2.1)

I'm trying to update my iPod touch 3rd gen from version 4.2.1 to 5.0.1. However, the update failed due to various errors (3002) so I attempted to goto DFU mode and complete restore my iPod. For some reason, the restore procedure failed with the error message (11). Please help me as soon as possible!!

    Errors Encoutered:
    1) tried to shift+update (ios5 ipsw) ==> error 3002
    2) tried to restore (ios5.0.1) ==>error 3194
    3) tried 2 in DFU same issue

  • Iphone 4 stuck at itunes logo, failed to restore/recover/DFU mode

    Hi,
I just bought an Iphone 5 today. So I have decided to restore and update my Iphone 4. However, when I reset all settings and choose to update my Iphone 4, the screen shows the "connect to Itunes logo', and so I did (I TRIED ON MY MACBOOK / HP AND LENOVO), but all laptops' itunes gives me the same error message as mentioned in the next statement. It seems like all laptops aren't happy about my Iphone software and refuses to read it AT ALL.
System gives me the exact same '2001" error message saying that an unknown error occured.
N I also did the 'HOME + POWER BUTTON 10/20/45 seconds hold down and release home button way but it doesnt work (multiple times).
Last but not least, I followed the DFU MODE METHOD and it is also failure.
Tried to googled everywhere but it seems like no one has encountered the same issue as I am now.
Connect to itunes logo and tried the recovery/DFU/hold down the power and home button way and screen GOES BACK TO ITUNES LOGO. Sigh..
Experts, I really need help on this.. I need someone to tell me of a new/other way on how I can get my phone back up.

Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer, hold both home and power buttons for about 20 seconds until iTunes recognizes iPhone in Recovery Mode. Click the Restore button of iTunes. If still problem, try
DFU Mode Restore: Open iTunes on computer, connect iPhone to computer. Hold both Home and Power Button for exactly 10 seconds, then release the Power button, keep holding the Home button until iTunes recognizes the iPhone in Recovery Mode, the iPhone screen should be black, blank. Click the Restore buttons of iTunes.
iTunes needs to be up to date version 10.7, if you need this, click the iTunes tab at the top of this window screen.

If you have a cold backup (database shutdown properly) without the redo logs, change this :
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "XE" NORESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOGto
CREATE CONTROLFILE REUSE DATABASE "XE" RESETLOGS NOARCHIVELOGYou have to change the NORESETLOGS to RESETLOGS for Oracle to recreate the online redo logs.

    Hello agardner37701,
I found some steps you can take when your iPhone is not recognized by iTunes when in Recovery Mode.  I recommend reviewing the steps in the section titled "If the device is not recognized while in Recovery Mode" under step 5 in the following article:
iOS: Device not recognized in iTunes for Windows

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

  • After i updated to ios 7 and then downgrade to 6.1.3 on my touch 5 i saw this text on my display "This iphone is currently linked to an apple id. Sign in with the apple id that was used to set up iphone". I've tried to restore in DFU and normal mode. What

    subj

Downgrading from a developer seed of iOS is not supported and often not possible. If you've tried restoring through DFU mode and are still having problems, ask for assistance in the developer forums you have available to you as an iOS Developer Program member and through which you can address issues with seed versions of Apple's software.

  • Lost my iphone ios 7.2.0 with a pass code an iCloud activate the thing is who ever finds my phone puts it on DFU mode and restore it I'm aware he can do that but can't use it without my iCloud will I be able to track the phone if connected to wifi

Lost my phone it had ios 7.2.0 with pass code and I cloud  I'm aware it can be restore on DFU mode but can't use it if they don't have the iCloud user if and password the phones linked with. Question is in this process if the person connects it to his or her wifi to setup up the phone will I be able to track the phone after the restore ? Even though he can't use it because he has no Id no password

You can do nothing if it's not online. With a passcode and iOS 7.1 (there is no 7.2) the device is uselss because it cannot be erased except by you.

If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if it is connected to the Internet by Wi-Fi or cellular. • Error 21 (and 1600 in DFU mode) when updating/restoring to iOS 5.0.1

I am getting Error 21 when I update or restore my iPhone 3GS (currently at 4.2.1). I don't have any security software installed so that shouldn't be the problem. Trying to restore in DFU mode brings up an Error 1600 instead. I have also tried using a different USB port with no luck. I have tryed redownloading the update with still no luck. Also my iPhone is not and has never been jailbroken. Anyone got any ideas?

I had the same issue where my iphone was stuck at "connect to itune" screen and would not install ios 5.0.1 and found an easy way or atleast worked for me. My phone was jail broken and this is the problem I guess.
But any ways, I had my shsh blob save for ios 4.1. I tried installing ios4.1. by starting tinyumbrela TSS server. It progressed to a point where iphone is clean/formatted of any previous iOS/jailbreak and started installing iOS4.1 (although I got some other errors on iOS4.1 but thats a different story). At this point i went back and started installing ios5.0.1 and worked perfectly.
I hope this help you guys.
In conclusion, I think if you remove jailbreak before upgrading to iOS 5.0.1, you may not see these errors.

  • I sleep my iPhone 4 and then it enters DFU Mode?

So basically, I downgraded iOS 7.0.6 (because it looks horrible and it's laggy) to iOS 6.1.3 on my iPhone 4 using a custom firmware I created with my SHSH Blobs for iOS 6.1.3. During the restore, I get error 37 and have to boot it tethered with a recovery fix in RedSn0w so that it will boot. So I syncronized my iPhone with iTunes so all my movies and music were stored on the phone. However, I press the sleep button and then after about a minute, it just shuts down, enters DFU Mode and then won't boot up again. Any suggestions on how this can be fixed?

Congratulations. You've rendered your phone unsupportable. Downgrading is not supported at all.
If it won't restore in DFU mode, you've permanently bricked it.
    Buy a new phone.
