Restricting Service Plant from order the Manufacturing Materials

Hi Techies,
For My client who wants to shift from Mapics to SAP wants to restrict the Service people from odering the Materials. This is because when their product comes to the service plant they should be ordering only the service kit which comes with few packagings and should not order the original material.
I Suggested the following:
1. The Manufacturing Materials should be available only in the manufacturing Plants and should not be extended to the service Plant.
2. The Service Kit can be extended to all the plants and hence service plant can order it and the manufacturing plant can sell it to the service plant.
The client wants to create all the material to be restricted from the service as ROH and the materials for which commercial or service can order as HALB.
I feel it does not give a propoer structure of it.
I would like your advice on this.

Hi Kris,
First of all you can not have different material type for the same material for different plants.
I think whatever you have suggested is absolutely right.
There is no point in creating all the materials in service plants as your client wants.
However, if you still want all the materials in service plant you can go ahead and create it.
But, for service plants you can restrict the manufacturing materials by giving Plant specific material status as blocked for procurement for service plant in purchasing view of material master.

Our SAP plant maintenance system is configured to create a purchase req when a non-stocked material is ordered. We would like to prevent hourly employees from creating a purchase req or ordering non-stocked materials. Only supervisors should be able to order non-stocked materials and create a purchase req. Clearly there will be 2 ways if not more. One is the Authorization object route and another is Enhancement route. I'm not going to touch the former one. So let's expect answers from other members for that. For the later one, we need to know the answer for the question below:
'Can we distinguish the hourly employees from regular employees by the user-Id or some other means? If yes, how ?'
Once we know this, we need to use some user-exit or enhancement spot of the program SAPLCOIH to capture the event of 'N' in the ItemCategory field of Components tab by such UserIds and trigger an error message. (Suitable user-exit is not striking my mind, so this might go the implicit enhancement way of Order program SAPLCOIH ).

Information to user who creates PR for spare parts & service PR from order.

Hi experts,
Is there any standard workflow available by which the maintenance user will get message in his SAP inbox , whether material has been recieved for the Purchase requisition created through maintenance order as well as manual PR by t-code ME51N.
Also whether payment has been done to the vendor or not for the service PR created through maintenance order by the maintenance user.

It is possible with std work flow trigger Business object BUS2045
(Inspection Lot) but nees to have used for QM quality Module.
inspaection lot created wvent will activate work flow to creator ID.
Also the same can be used for other application like outlook for information by Std functionlity.
you may need to take help from your ABAP Team.

Restrict a user from approving the PO that he had created

Hi experts,
Few users have the ability to create and approve Purchase orders.
However, the user should not be able to approve a Purchase order that he has created?
We are on ECC 6.0 on Enhancement Pack 04. Is it possible to achieve through SAP delivered authorization objects?

Hi,
You may have to define your release strategy accordingly such that if a PO is created by a particular purchasing group (buyer) then the strategyA should come in picture if by another set of buyer then strategyB should be activated. This can be possibly defined at the charatceritic level for classification and is more of a MM functional know how rather than authorizations. Obviously, authorizations would come into picture if there are seperate release codes assigned to the release strategy and the users role has authorization to other release codes except for the strategy for his purchasing group.
M_EINK_FRG as already mentioned would be the object used.

How to restrict a user from using the transaction code SU01?

How can I grant a profile to a user with the profile SAP_ALL except running the transaction code SU01?
I know how to lock the transaction code using SM01 but is there any other way to do it.

Go to S_TCODE
Double click on it and give the combinations like        A* -   X*
                                                                             SU00
                                                                             SU02 - Z*
                     Try this one definately it will work.

Stopping the assembler from deleting the war file

Is there any way to stop the Web Services assembler from deleting the build directory (or the war file) after it is done packaging the ear file? I want to take the war file and package it into my own ear file.

Using wsa from 10.1.3, you have the -war option wich can be used to provide the location where to put the file that will be otherwise packaged in the war file.

Are non SOAP/WSDL OSB business services accessible from outside the OSB? Or are these only accessible from other services within the OSB?

You do not need to purchase service from a carrier unless you want to utilize the iPads connection to a 3G Network on it's own (directly). You may choose to add a Tethering plan onto your existing cell phone plan and to have an iPad connect to the Wifi connection that the Tethered phone would offer.
Always compare your usage and your costs, as your mileage may vary.

A manufacturing plant is where stocks of a material are kept and is assigned to a company code.
If a plant is assigned to the Sales Organization and Dist Channel, it is called Delivering Plant. Basically without this assignment, you cannot make any deliveries.
The system copies the plant data into the sales order from the relevant entries in the master records based upon the following priorities:
1. Customer material information master record
2. Customer master record
3. Material master record
The plant data is coming into sales order because of assignment of plant to Sales Organization and Dist Channel.

Make to Order Repetitve Manufacturing Restrictions

Does anybody know that the reasons behind the restrictions of Make to Order Repetitive Mfg in SAP?
Restrictions like :
              1- Impossibility of reporting point backflushing despite of MTS Rep Mfg
              2- Impossibility of component/activity backflushing despite of MTS Rep Mfg
I am working as a PP consultant in a SAP implementation project for a car manufacturer and we choose the MTO Rep Mfg as our manufacturing scenario, but we need to track the production.
Is there any suggestion for handling these restrictions in MTO Rep Mfg?

The car manufacturer, that we are implementing SAP for it, produces the vehicles with make to order strategy,
and according to the nature of its production, we decide to use MTO repetitive manufacturing and configurable material for their sap architecture, but there are some limitation in MTO Rep Mfg.
For example:
        It is needed to track the vehicle from start to end of production,and the standard way of satisfying this requirement is using of reporting point backflushing, but this feature is not supported in MTO Rep Mfg despite of MTS Rep Mfg (that supports the reporting point backflushing). How we can handle this requirement without using the reporting point? and I'd like to know the reason behind this limitation.
Do you have any idea about this problem?

Delivery from one plant taking order of another plant

Hi,
Please share your view that how it is possible to delivery from one plant taking the order from another plant where production is made in later plant and material is moved by STo to the first plant for despatch.
     So stock is ready in first plant but since the order is of second plant , if we bypass the first phase check in shipping point while create delivery by VLO1N , inside the document the second plant is determined. is there any way around?
Please explore.

   There is no problem about STO. Problem is that we have to issue the sale order in manufacturing plant and with respect to the same order we have to make the delivery by VL01N from another plant. So MRP will run in manufacturinf plant. Stock will built up in manufacturing plant, then it will be transferred to another plant and from there the same material is to be despatched where the delivering plant in sale order is the manufacturing plant.
    SAP does not allow to do it as the delivering plnat specified in the order is different from thye plant from where it is to be despatched.
   We have thought also to create customized routine for it where we may bypass the check of shipping point in copy control as well as the population of the plant which is to be filled up manually by user in delivery document.
   Is there any other alternative . please explore.

Creation of Sales Order and Service Contract from Inbound IDOC

Hi Experts,
My requirement is to create a Sales Order as well as a Service Contract from one Inbound IDOC. I am getting the Inbound IDOC from a third Party. The message type is ORDERS and Basic Type is ORDERS02. How ever i am using an extension type IDOC which carries all the required data for Sales Order and Service Contract. My requirement is like, to create a Sales Order first.
I have created a Z FM which is attached to the Process Code and subsequently to the message type. Inside the FM i an calling FM 'IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS' for creation of Sales Order. After that i am changing the IDOC data for the Document Type. I am changing the document type which is responsible for Contract Creation.
Then I am again calling the FM 'IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS' for creation of Contract with the help of IDOC data. But here the Contract is not getting created. It's getting failed during the Batch input session.
I need to solve this problem as soon as possible. Please help me. If there are any other options also please share.

Actually there is problem with BDCDATA. Inside the FM it's calling transaction with help of BDCDATA. If i am creating a Sales order or contract alone its creating successfully. But when i am trying to create both, it's retuning sy-subrc '1001' after calling the transaction on the second attempt. Is there any problem with BDCDATA like we can't handle with less time gap? Please help and give your inputs.

Have you tried a soft-reset to see if that fixes it ? You might be able to get warranty service in Egypt for your iPad, but the warranty includes :
IMPORTANT RESTRICTION FOR iPHONE AND iPAD SERVICE.
Apple may restrict warranty service for iPhone and iPad to the country where Apple or its Authorized Distributors originally sold the device.
As it's wifi-only you should have a better chance of it being serviced under warranty, but there are no guarantees, it might depend upon the repairer.

Copying of Service items from contract into Purchase order

Dear Friends,
We have upgraded from 4.6B to ECC6.
Previously when we create Purchase Order with reference to Contract(i.e.Release order),we select service line items by selecting service selection button from PO and select the service line items from Contract,then whatever the line item whether line item 30,or line item 60 copied from Contract is copied into line item 10 of Purchase order in 4.6B version.
But in ECC6 ,it is copied into other line item but not copied into line item 10 of purchase order.
Please suggest ,what needs to be done, what went wrong.

Hi,
Pl. elaborate whether the quantity 1 is appearing at Item Overview level or at Item Details level. At the item overview level the quantity will aleays be 1 with unit of measure as AU. At item details, you will be able to view the actual quantity of services copied from contract.
