Result shown in Bex Report is different from Infocube

In BI, Flat file loading, I got data correctly into the cube. But when I tried to generate the report its showing all the key figure values divided by 10. Keyfigures are of type Amount. And when I checked for scaling factors, its showing nothing 1 only (ie nothing).
I am working in BI 7.0 and the reporting tool Business explorer is 3.x version. is this can be a problem?
Can some one help me to solve out this problem?

As my currency is OMR, I required three decimal points. So in SPRO it should be maintained as 3.
I checked the scaling factor. Nothing is maintained.
Eventhough I mentioned while creating key figures that decimal places 3, in the infocube its coming only two decimal points.
So if the value is 335.824, I am getting 335.82 in the InfoCube and 33.58 in the report.
I created the keyfigure with fixed currency OMR. But in the flat file the currency filed is not there. So while writing the transformation I gave the currency as NO Conversion.
Where I went wrong, please advise me?

  • Key Figure values in the Bex Report are different from the cube

    Hi all,
When I tried to pull data of the cube, the values of the Key Figure 0Lotsize_cm was showing 100 EA. But when I try to run the query of the cube, then the key figure is LotSize is showing up as 500 EA. I don't understand why this is happening.
When I checked for Aggregation in the Key Figure. It shows up as "Sum" under aggregation and "Last Value" under Exception aggregation.
Could some one help me find a solution to this issue.
I look forward to hearing from the experts.

    Hi Arun and  Zegion,
    Thank you for your responses.
Arun, I do not have any aggregates on the cube. I changed the aggregate properties of the Key Figure from SUM to Minimum. this has solved my problem temporarily.
the reason I am saying temporarily because this is a SAP delivered InfoObject. This is for the datasource 0CO_PC_PCP_01. When I read through the documents, it said, SUMMation for Aggregation and Last value for "Exception Aggregation" will display the value of KF as the last value and does not add them up.
Since this wasn't the happening in my query, I changed the Aggregation from SUM to Minimum.

  • Wrong values shown in Bex report

    Hi,
I've created a Bex report using 0IC_C03. my report is pretty simple, it has 0VALSTCKVAL as the key figure. As characteristics i have plant/ Movement type/ Storage location
Initial view it shows by Plant and no problems with the figures, but when i drill down on Location it shows 1 additional line for storage location with #, all the figures are assigned to this row. The row with the correct storage location has 0 in the key figure ! when i checked the cube there is no records with storage location #.
    Table
Plant                          Storage location                                             Movement Type     Value of valuated stock
    WH05     WH05     #     WH05/Not assigned                                    963                           15,224.97 EUR

All the above values should be assign to WH05/E005 not to #. any help on the right direction is greatly appreciated.
    thanks

    Hi,
I do not know in which case Storage location values will not be maintained but what i can suggest this is something to do with ECC.
I feel data comes froM ECC to BI side so whatever is not there will not be present in BI as well.So its better to take help of functional guys and let them understand the issue and probably they can decide whehter theings to be done in ECC or BI side.
    Hope it helps.

  • BEx report -two different calculations for a result for one key figure how?

    All,
Maybe someone could help me with the following, we have a requirement to setup for one key figure two calculations for result rows. One result (average) for one level, and on a higher level -grand total have a (sum), as for our business it makes sense to do it this way. We have setup average for this KF, we get correct results (see below values 7,5 & 6,5) however for the grand total (across multiple products) so for one level up we need to have a different calculation. How could we achieve this?
    Here is an example:
    location     product          inventory
    AAAA     11111          5
    AAAA     11111          5
    AAAA     11111          10
    AAAA     11111          10
    AAAA     Result          7,5      ---> average
    AAAA     22222          5
    AAAA     22222          6
    AAAA     22222          7
    AAAA     22222          8
    AAAA     Result          6,5       -
    > average
AAAA     Result (across products)          14      ---> here I want to have a sum of averages

This could be achieve only IF you upload a hierarchy for product inventory with different levels, wherein each level show subtotals and finally grand total will be shown at the end of the results.

  • Calendar year / Month (0CALMONTH) values format differs from Infocube

I run BEx query which is based on Infocube, the values of 0calmonth displayed as 01/2008 whereas in infocube the values are shown 200801.
How to change the 0calmonth format in query result same as Infocube .( ie. 01/2008 into 200801).
Note : I need to load this query result through flatfile into Infocube, here the 0Calmonth values format mismatches.
    Thanks,

    Hi,
The Standard date format for saving in sap 0CALMONTH is YYYYMM.
And , the same fields displayed in query is MM.YYYY
This is the standard format in sap to store the values.
And if you want to store with flatfile then change the format in flatfile to MM.YYYY
Hope you get what i suggested.

  • Colours in result vastly different from preview

I've just installed the latest Photoshop CC. Whenever I go to Image → Adjustments → Anything, the result turns out to be completely different from what I see in the preview. For example, when I use Hue to colourize a picture:
If I do the same using the corresponding adjustments layer, I get the same result as in the preview on the screen, but as soon as I save the picture to a non-psd format, the colours are off again.
It is impossible to work like that. Do you have any idea why this happens? I should note that I work in the standard RGB mode, and the "Proof Colors" option is disabled (but if I enable it, the results are the same).

Well, I construed "preview" to stand for Apple's Preview Application.  Not my bad this time, but yours.

  • Using Report-to-Report Interface (RRI) in BEx Report Designer?

    Dear experts,
I would like to know if it is possible to use Report-to-Report Interface in BEx Report Designer?
From what I read from this article
[(Creating Formatted reports using BEx Report Designer)|http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/00ae5173-6112-2d10-d78f-e7779d269f25?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true], the RRI capability of query is not supported in BEx report. So is it true? And are there any workarounds to enable/emulate RRI capability in BEx Report?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards,
    Joon

    Hi Joon,
It is possible to make RRI in BEX Report Designer by using Transaction Code - RSBBS .
Here you need to give the Target Query and Source Query names and than you can easily connect two reports or two levels of same report.
For further step wise description please check the below SDN document :
    http://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/scn/go/portal/prtroot/docs/library/uuid/607e63d5-b56f-2c10-718f-8e33a08baa89?quicklink=index&overridelayout=true
I hope this document helps to sort out the queries.

    To maintain Query Description :Table?
To maintain Desription of Key fig and CKF and RKF : Tables

thanks for replying, but i tried this option too, it did not work for me, neither isnull nor coalesce. I mean, the solution work for single value but when i pass multiple values then separated by a comma then it doesn't work and shows me an error like "Incorrect Syntax ','". I am using SQL server as DB and bip is 10.1.3.4.1
also please share the SR number, so i can also check the same.
can there be any other work around to this?

  • Row and column results to be calculated differently in BEx report

    Hi
I have a BEx report which consists of profit centre characteristics in the row and headcount key fig in the column over 12 fiscal periods.  This headcount key fig has been set to Calculate Results as 'Last Value'.  This setting is correct because I want the Overall Result of each profit centre along the row to be the heacount value of period 12 or 11 or 10 depending on the period range entered by the user.  Due to this 'Last Value' setting, the Overall Results at the bottom of each fiscal period column also shows the last headcount value ie. the headcount value of the last profit centre displayed on the BEx report.  This is incorrect as the Overall Result should be the summation of headcount for all profit centres for fiscal month.
What settings should I make to achieve my reporting requirement.  Please let me know.
    Many thanks,
    Anthony

    Hi Uli
Changing the 'Calculate result as' to 'counting all values' didn't work.
What I'm getting from the BEx report is:
                   Headcounts...............................
    Profit Ctr  P1   P2  P3.....P12  Overall Results
    P120         5     6    6        7                7
    P121         6     5    8        9                9
    P122         6     9    8        7                7
    Overall
    Results     6     9     8       7                7
The last row's Overall Results are incorrect.  It should sum up instead of taking the last profit centre P122 's periodic headcounts.  The last column's Overall Results are correct as they are the P12's headcounts.
I want the BEx query to look like this:
                   Headcounts...............................
    Profit Ctr  P1   P2  P3.....P12  Overall Results
    P120         5     6    6        7                7
    P121         6     5    8        9                9
    P122         6     9    8        7                7
    Overall
    Results     17   20   22     23              23

  • Strange Behavior: VO query result shown in UI different from backend

    Hi Experts,
I have an issue with one of the VOs in my application. The VO uses an expert query.
The application uses ADF faces for the front end. The UI is created by dragnDrop method from ViewCriteria(Datacontrol for this VO) to the page.
I would expect the page to always show the data which I would get when I execute the query from the backend.
But the data that comes up in the UI(through the VO and queryPanel, af:table) is different from the data set if I execute the query directly from backend. (Oracle 11G Database)
The issue occurs for one set of data and not for another set of data.
    I tried the following:
In VOImpl, the executeQuery method is overridden to add additional filters.
Just before super.executeQuery, captured the getQuery() result.
The query got this way, I am running from back-end(SQLPLUS/Toad) returns expected results, whereas when the Application is run, the UI table shows duplicate data for one set alone.
Please share pointers on how to debug this issue further.
Please note that this post is not about the query but I am illustrating the query here just in case its needed.
The query is something like this:
Fetch rows from maintable that belong to either the set mapping to :bindvariable1 or the set mapping to bindvariable2. This could be represented as a union between the two selects as well.
    select
    col1,col2,col3...
    from main_table, table1, table2
    where
    (main_table.idcolumn =:bindvariable1
    and table1.referencecolumn =:bindvariable1
    and table2.referncecolumn =:bindvariable1)
    or
    (main_table.idcolumn =:bindvariable2
    and table1.referencecolumn =:bindvariable2
    and table2.referncecolumn =:bindvariable2)
    and
    maintable.idcolumn2=table1.idcolumn
    and maintable.idcolumn3=table2.idcolumn
Thanks for your time and help.

Do you have a security policy associated with the table?
Oracle 8i supports virtual private database where the server can dynamically modify a query.
The query 'SELECT * FROM EMP' could be modified by the server to 'SELECT * FROM EMP WHERE DIVISION = 'AIRCRAFT' by putting a security policy on the EMP table.
You, as a user, would never know it happened.
A security policy based on some arcane rule such as the time of day could cause the problem you are describing.
The only other way I know of is if you logged in as two different users and each user has different privileges on the table.
    Good luck!

  • BO migration from BEx reports

One of my client is running on SAP IS Retail 6.0, and they have few BW reports. Now they are looking for migrating the BEx reports to BO XI.
They do not want to change anything, but want to port the reports as is to BO from BEx.
My previous experience of porting BEx reports to BO as is, without puting extra filters of something, to reduce the huge data size images was not good at all.
Is there any way to have better performance in BO than the current BEx performance, if we want to port the reports as is without any structural change?
Please share your experience with me.

My company is running Webi reports using BOBJ XI 3.1 (up to current fixpack level) on SAP BI 7.01 EHP1-SP5. This config gives 50% reduction in Memory, 30% improvement in runtimes, on average compared to 7.0 BI, according to SAP. But is it good enough for full corporate deployment?
My understanding of the Webi <-> SAP BI architecture is that we still have a large image sent to the XI Box from the query -> universe -> Webi report refresh. The big flaw here in my view is that Webi is disconnected from the OLAP database tables after the refresh, thus must 'image' everything the report requires, in our case into a 32 bit Windows NT box.
This is quite different from the SAP BI OLAP front-end model, in which user navigations are threaded in various ways (sometimes from cache, from aggregates, from indexes on the DSO characteristics etc), as we can see in our BI OLAP processing steps in BI statistics.
After the Webi refresh, there are no 'threads', or calls, back to BI ABAP tables, as the Webi report has to represent all the potential navigation in the MDX model. For this reason it seems a fundamentally resource-intensive architecture, that can induce instability when very large sets of data are retrieved in concurrent user sessions. By "large"  think of the 'cubed' size (count of characteristics X count of key figures X number of transactions).
If user activity results in concurrent refresh calls to generate large report 'images' from SAP BI, I have observed 100% CPU freeze in BOBJ XI, and user lockout until resources are again freed up, which can take a very long time for certain reports. Subsequently when the large images are subjected to user OLAP navigations, CPU processing again will spike.
When running large image reports, the Webi performance has been an 'order of magnitude' slower than our reports running on ABAP web. Unfortunately, the risk is greater than just slow performance - there is the CPU and memory resources that are engaged during that extended processing interval as well.
Much depends on the normal level of user activity. This is a matter of simple statistics. Say your overalll production BI system load averages ten users per hour running reports. If Webi report runtime averages 30 minutes per refresh, and BEx ABAP runs in 5 minutes, the probabillity of concurrent resource collisions is much higher - from 10% to 50%, thus the situation can snowball rapidly.
I think SAP is working very hard on this problem, but has issued guidance as recently as May 2009,  that if you have current BEx reports that are working, don't migrate them all yet. Unfortunately our users are anxious to run everything in the Webi tool, because it is indeed a super user interface.
However, customers have until 2016 until the Bex tools are phased out. Interviewed by Searchsap, Jonathan Becher, SAP Sr. VP, said, "There are lots of scenarios that BEx does just fine, if you're confident using BEx, don't rush."  The same article also quoted Cindy Coyle of Coors, who had tested the Webi BOBJ: ""Don't go near Business Objects [until you get a BWA]," Coyle said, "because it'll only add more performance problems on top of what's there today." • Concatenation of Data from 4 infoobjects into a single cell in Bex Report

    Hi,
I have loaded ODS with the description data. The source system for loading the ODS is the flat file. The ODS data should be a replica of the flat file.
In the flat file, there is a description field corresponding to a particular ID. This Description is greater than the standard 60 char length. So, I had to split the description while loading the flat file using single line routine in the Transfer Structure.
So, while loading different  the data, I split the description field data from the flat file into 4 infoobjects and the flat file data was loaded into the ODS.
Now, from the reporting point of view, I need to display the entire description data from the 4 info-objects into a single cell in the Bex report.
Please suggest a solution for this.

  • Best approach to "migrate" from BEX reports to Webi reports ?

    Hello,
i have read lots of documents regarding best practices on how to built webi reports and universes on top of BW.
But i can't find any document about best approach, not in performance way of thinking but in best way of using reports.
i mean: when end users are coming from bex reports (where they can drill down through hierarhies and use free filters ) to webi reports (where layout is quite beatiful and user can change it easely), this is not the same way of consuming reports.
I come from BO world and are new on reporting on top of BW.
for me webi is good for quite static layout reporting where data is clear and available.of course you can have prompts for interactivy and more accurate reporting.  Drill down is just a functionality but is not the real purpose of the report tool.
So ,according to me there is a gap between both tools (BEX and WEBI) but end users are the same.
So i 'm wondering if you have any feedback for the best approach to build webi reports where end users are coming from bex reporting.
And how to choose between prompts, drill-down (with available filters on top of the window), fold/unfold and input controls or just having diffrent levels of hierarchies in the table/ section/ breaks but without drill down (because if you drill down, report begins weird with diffrent levels) ...?
So , if you have any feedback , advise....
    thanks in advance,
    Rgds,

WEBI don't replace BEX reports, is for different audience, in fact BEX is for OLAP reports and analysis.

  • Data load from BPC into BI 7 cubes for Bex reporting

    Hi,
Can we pull BPC planning data into the BI cubes so that Bex reports can be created for combined data from BPC cubes and BI cubes?
Also can we create Bex reports on BPC cubes just like we create for BI reporting cubes?
Let me also give an example of the scenario we face.
We have actuals data in a BI 7 basic cube(Actuals cube). Planning is done in BPC, so I understand  that the planned data gets automatically stored in a BPC cube in BI7 system. I want to load the data from this BPC cube to BI Actuals cube and create a combined Bex report to show actuals and plan data.
    Please let me know.
    Thanks,
    Archana

AS of now, if you report data in the BPC7NW cubes through BEx, you may not get the same result as you get from BPC reports. The reason being BEx won't do the same calculations (for example sign reversals) that BPC client would do. In addition, you won't be able to report the results of the dimension member formulas when you report through BEx. If you have to get data out from BPC cubes to other cubes, you can go through SQE (shared query engine) and that way, yyour results will match with what you get in BPC reports. Once you get data out through SQE into other cubes, you can use BEx to report if you wish.
More functionality will be available in near future to accomplish BEx reporting for BPC data.
