Retroactive Rebate?

I saw that the free nano for university students promo started today. I bought my macbook about a month ago and am just wondering if anyone knows if Apple would give a retroactive rebate so that I could purchase a nano and then send the 199$ rebate in. I know that a lot of companies honor the new price of an item even if you bought the item at a previous higher price. For example, if I buy a shirt for 12$ and the next day it goes on clearance for 5$, a lot of companies would give me my 7$ back if I proved that I had just purchased the shirt. Thanks for anyone's input. It's worth a shot.

In addition, according to the terms:
Buy a qualifying Mac and iPod from Apple or a participating Apple Authorized Campus Store from June 5, 2007, through September 16, 2007, and receive a mail-in rebate up to $199.
You would have had to buy the Mac and iPod together starting today.

  • Retroactive rebates for multiple sold-to's

    Hi
We have a rebate agreement that is applicable to multiple sold-to accounts (belonging to different payers). We do not currently have customer hierarchy but that is one option we are considering, i.e to maintain the rebate agreement at the highest level and link all applicable sold-to's to this node.
However we still need to apply this rebate retroactively. The invoices do not have customer hierarchy on them and obviously can't be updated with hierarchy node as they are created and posted. So can anyone suggest how we carry out the retroactive rebate process? (We can use the sold-to number in the access sequence / condition record but in that case we will end up with multiple condition records in the agreement and no way to group them!)
    Thanks

    Hi Shiva,
VBOF would not be able to update the billing documents because the data would not match with the condition records. Even if we implement new customer hierarchy and create condition records, the billing docs themselves won't be updated with the hierarchy so VBOF won't be able to match the condition records.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • How to restrict the manual accrual posting in Rebate?

    Hi friends,
I am working with Retroactive Rebate.
As on now, the total accrual posted to FI is 20000 INR.
If I am taking the past Billing documents into consideration then the Total accrual is 35000 INR.
So, I need to post a Manual Accrual for the difference of 15000 INR. It is running fine.
Now, I want that user should be able to post more than the difference amount. During Manual accrual posting, one can post any amount he wants which I want to restrict upto the difference amount.
That means, system should not allow the user to enter more than the difference amount.
Can any body please guide me how to do it?
    Regards
    Pradyumna

    Hello Pradyumna,
there is not standard way to restrict the manual accrual value.
Are you using the old rebate processing (with S136 not active) ?
If so I would advice you to pass to new rebate processing. See the note 105681.
In this way the retroactive rebates can be easily handled.
If you prefer to old rebate processing, please try to test the report RV15B005 to post accrual for old invoices
    Best regards,
    Ivano.

  • Manual Accrual Issue in SD Rebate

    Hello Guru's,
I have accrued amount A via Manual Accrual B4 Document type to the existing accrued amount B and posted the billing document to FI. But when i come back to the rebate agreement and carry out Manual Payment B3 or extended settlement B2, its not allowing me to do so, as it says that Function not possible: There are open documents relevant for accruals. It is allowing me to create B1 final settlement.
    Kindly Help please.
    regards,
    Shahzad

    Hi
In a normal Rebate, you should not use "Mannual Accrual". You should use either "execute final settlement" or "execute settlement via payment screen".
Normally, we use the "Mannual Accrual" button in Retroactive Rebate Agreement.
I feel, you should delete the document which has been created for settlement and settle through proper way.

  • What is Retro active rebates and how there are configured

    Hi,
What it means by retro active rebates and how there are configured. Please also explain how rebates settlement will happen...
    Regards
    Sankar

    Hi,
    Retroactive Rebate Processing:
You can create rebate agreement for which the validity period start date lies in the past. The system takes in to account all the rebate relevant billing documents that were created between the validity start date & the date you created the rebate agreement. In addition to the credit memo request, the system creates a correction sales doc (type B2) automatically for this amount.
Create the rebate agreement in the usual way. The system recognizes that the rebate agreement is retroactive.

  • Rebate Agreement information

    Hi,
When using transaction VBOF the system updtates all relevant billing documents retroactively, what I need is to view the value of that document at a specific date. For example if the value of the document has been updated due to rebate in 01.01.2009 and at 01.02.2009, where can I find the the value of the document at a specific date e.g 10.01.2009, the rebate agreement and billind document.? Wich are the tables with this information.
    Thank's

    Hi Jsoares,
For your information, during retroactive rebate agreement recalculation (Tcode VBOF), the net value of the sales invoice (NETWR) will never be updated. That does not make business sense and that would also result in an error in the VBOF execution.
If you speak of rebate conditions in the sales invoices, check tables VBRK + tables KONV for the rebate condition types.
If you want to see rebate statistics, check KONA + KOTE* as other colleagues already specified + table S060.

  • Rebates - incorrect condition type used

I have one rebate agreement (promotion) that has two conditions types attached, one is for Customer Hierarchy/material and the other is Customer/material, both are a fixed amount but going to different accounts.
The promotion payment has been partially paid but the user paid against the customer /material condition instead of the customer hierarchy /material condition. How would I correct this in accounting and how would one prevent this from happening in the future?

    Hi,
    1) Normally there is a rebate reversal document type set up in the system.
You should use this document type to reverse the entry. You need to close the rebate.
    2) Fix the setting or configuration. The posting to the account must be done automatically.
    3) Create new rebate.
    4) Run retroactive rebate processing.

    Hi Raju.,
        REBATE AGREEMENTS:
A special discount paid retroactively to a customer once he reaches sales volume in a given period of time.
    Structure:
You can define the following data in a rebate agreement:
    • Validity period
    • Status (whether the agreement is released for settlement)
    • Rebate recipient (the party who receives the credit memo)
    • Currency
    • Method of payment (cheque, bank transfer etc)
    Data Defined In Condition Records:
    • Basis for rebate (customer, customer/ material, rebate group, etc)
    • Validity period (the validity must lie with in the validity of rebate agreement)
    • Cond rate
    • Material for settlement
    • Accrual rate
    • Other control data, such as pricing scale type
    Prerequisites for Rebate Processing:
    • Sales orgn: must be relevant for rebate processing
    • Payer: must be relevant for rebate processing
    • Billing type: (invoice, credit memo etc) must be relevant for rebate processing
    Material for Settlement:
You may have to create rebates that do not depend on a material, but instead, e.g. on:
    • A Customer
    • A Customer Hierarchy
    • A Group of Materials
You will then need to refer to a material for settlement. The system uses this material when you pay out the rebate. It does not matter which material type & mat application type you use.
When you create the cond record with in the rebate agreement, the system automatically asks you to enter the no of material for settlement.
Rebate based on Group of Materials:
A rebate group consists of materials to which you want to apply the same rebate. You system administrator can define rebate group in Customizing for Sales according to the need o f the orgn.
You can assign a material to a rebate group in the MMR: view- Sales, field- Rebate Grp. When you create a cond record, you must enter a settlement material.
    Rebate Agreement Types:
Agreement Type Basis for Rebate Cond Type
    0001 Customer / Material % Rebate BO01
    Customer / Rebate Group % Rebate BO01
    0002 Customer / Material Quantity Dependent BO02
    0003 Customer Percent rebate BO03
0004 Customer hierarchy Percent rebate BO04
Customer hierarchy / Material Percent rebate BO05

    Define Condition Type Groups:
Copy & rename: 0002. Give the same code as given to agreement type.
Assign Condition Type to Condition Type Group:
In this activity one needs to assign the cond type from the pricing procedure to the cond type group found on the rebate agreement type. The sequence no column represents the fields in the cond table that determines what the system is to use as the basis for rebate. In this e.g., 1 determines that the cond type should use the fields customer & material. The cond type group 0002 will use pricing cond type BO02. Before assigning cond type to cond type group, you have to create a cond type.
    Cond Technique for rebate processing:
    Create cond table
    Maintain access sequence
Define cond type: BO02 is the cond type used in pricing, copy & rename.
Assign cond type to cond type group: BO02 to 0002
Maintain pricing procedure: assign cond type BO02 to pricing proc, after total discount & before freight. Assign Subtotal: 7, Account Key: ERB, Accruals: ERU (keeping reserve money from customer money), & Requirement: 24 (rebate will get affected in billing doc & not in sales doc)
The cond type BO02 must use cond class ‘C’- expense reimbursement.
The rebate procedure in BO02: indicates if the cond is dependent or independent of sales volume
The accruals correction proc indicates if accruals must be corrected when this cond type is accessed.
Assigning Cond Type Groups to Agreement Type:
Here you are presented with a list of agreement types as created in the system & you can assign the relevant cond type group
    Activate Rebate Processing: at
    • Sales orgn level: activate rebate processing for sales organisations

    Retroactive Rebate Processing:
You can create rebate agreement for which the validity period start date lies in the past. The system takes in to account all the rebate relevant billing documents that were created between the validity start date & the date you created the rebate agreement. In addition to the credit memo request, the system creates a correction sales doc (type B2) automatically for this amount.
Create the rebate agreement in the usual way. The system recognizes that the rebate agreement is retroactive.

  • Rebate on paid invoices

    Experts,
I need to create rebate based on paid invoices only. is there any way i could do this? In retroactive rebate it still gets unpaid invoices.
    Thanks in advance!!!

    Hi,
Which version of SAP you are working on. If it is ECC6.0 you have the option. In ECC6.0 SAP has provided a extended rebate facility through which you can accrue the rebates as usually, but you can pay the rebate amount only after you receive the payment.
This i did not tried but came to know from friends. You need to activate extended rebate processing and check it once and proceed.
Hope this will help you if you are in ECC6.0. prior to this version we do not have any option.

  • Accruals Condition Record posted late in COPA along with the Settlement

    Hi Gurus,
Accruals condition record for 1 item in an Invoice is posted along with the Settlement Credit Note in COPA. While condition records of the other items from the same invoice were posted on the Billing Date itself.
    For eg:
    Invoice 111       Date 01.03.2011
    Items     Condition   value
    1              Z1            100
    2              Z1             200
    3              Z1             300
COPA Doc No.        Value Field        Date
         001                         200             01.03.2011
         002                         300             01.03.2011
         003                         100             30.05.2011
30.05.2011 is the date of Rebate Credit Note for the Invoice # 111
I also got that if Posting of Accrual is not done for an Item, Retroactive rebate settlement automatically posts a new document for accrual.
So the question is why the posting of accrual was not done on the Invoice date in the first place?
Edited by: Parth Kulkarni on Jul 1, 2011 4:31 PM

    Hi Suraj,
i too have the same problem, the condition types for Values and quantity in COPA are assigned. The system updates the quantity for the first billing document but not for the subsequent billing documents.
Cost of goods sold and revenue gets updated.

  • Retroactive accruals using VOB3 (Old rebate functionality)

    Hi gurus,
I already did quite some searches my I did not find any answer to my problem.
    Example:
I have two invoices created on September and another in October.
    I created a Rebate agreement on 01-11-2011.
In order that the two mentioned invoices are considered for accruals, the Validy from date of the rebate was set to 01-09-2011.
In order to create the retroactive accruals, and since my customer is using the old rebate functionality, we run transaction VOB3 (program RV15B002 ) and a Rebate Correction was created totalling 17.200,00u20AC.
My customer needs to have a report that, per each Rebate correction, are listed which Sales Invoices contributed for the final value and specify the value per each sales invoice
    Example:
    Example:
    Invoice 1 contributed with 200,00
    Invoice 2 contributed with 7.000,00
    Invoice 3 contributed with 10.000,00
    My question is:
Is there any table where this relation exists?
Is there any function module that I can use that retrieves this info?
    Many thanks!
    Fátima

    Hi Babs,
To update billing documents for retrospectively created agreements, you need to run VBOF transaction. By this transaction you can update already created agreements.
    In the selection screen key in;
    1) Agreement Number
    2) Valid End date before ( this date should be greater than the end date of the agreement)
    3) FI-Dco Type: SU (Adjustment documnet)
    4) Uncheck Test and nged agreements.
    Hope this helps.

  • Retroactive education rebate?? D'oh!

    Hi there,
I bought my first mac the other day (15 inch macbook pro with A LOT of customization) from the online apple store. I've used Apple products before (at work & school), but I've never actually bought one. So, unfortunately, when I went to buy this one, I didn't realize there was an education discount (I'm currently attending college, so I qualify). One of my friends brought it up to me today, though and now I'm freaked out because I probably could have saved a loooottt of money on the computer, apple care, the programs I pre-installed on it, etc.
I've already received the computer in the mail (it's sitting on my desk unopened until I know what to do). I called apple support, but the education store was already closed so I have to call back tomorrow. Can anyone tell me if apple will let me get the education discount retroactively, even though I ordered it online at the regular price?
It would seem a little silly (and wasteful) for them to force me to reship my fully-customized computer back to them, reorder the exact same thing with the education discount, and then have to wait another week until I get it back in the mail. And Apple seems like they have pretty reasonable customer service... what do you think?

No one can answer this but Apple. Good luck!

  • Rebate settlement at Sales order level

    Insight requested..
How to do rebate settlement at sales order level, generally rebate settlement is done after the invoice creation and with reference to accounting document.

    Dear sud
The definition for rebate is A rebate is a special discount which is paid retroactively to a customer. This discount is based on the customer's sales volume over a specified time period.
Having said that if you are willing to give some discount to your customer, on the order itself, we can call it as DISCOUNT and it should not be called as REBATES.
For discounts, you can create a condition type and assign it to your pricing procedure.
Incidentally, can you please let me know what warrants you to ask this question.  I am sure, the sales process won't be like that.
    Thanks

  • Report related to rebates

    Hi Experts,
Below is the scenario related to rebate and the requirement from client.
    1.     Rebates: A rebate is a special discount which is paid retroactively to a customer. This discount is based on the customer's sales volume over a specified time period.
For example customer (eg H&B company) will be getting 10% amount of discount if they purchase an amount of 50,000 in 3months from that vendor and for particular articles(goods).
Query to be generated : BI has to raise a alert if there is a shortage of certain amount (eg 5000 in this case)or less than that amount  to get the rebate.
MY solution: So first we have to create a query to display : For particular vendor, we have to get the actual purchase amount for particular rebate. Then this purchase amount has to be compared with the rebate amount (here it is 50,000) and present date has to be compared with the end date of the rebate. If there is less(minimum, value is specified eg 10%) difference in actual purchase amount and rebate amount && present date is less than Rebate end date, then BI has to generate alert saying that customer has to buy still 5000 to get the rebate(i.e discount).
My problem : There is a cube name 0PUR_C03 : Subsequent settlement : Evaluation (also called as Rebates) ,but I am not able to understand what are the values it is extracting from the R/3 side .I mean what exactly each key field mean in that cube.
I thought of loading data and comparing data in r/3 side, but it is giving error while installing datasource, saying that the datasource is not active in the source system. When I try to activate it in source system it is saying data source is locked by request.
IF I can know what each field mean in that cube, there will be no need to load data.
I know it will take a long time to understand the scenario and get the solution, but this issue is critical.
It will be great help if anyone can get me the solution.
    Thanks for your HELP.
    Thanks,
    Lalitha
    Ph: 09999078676

    Hi Lalitha,
As the Cube: 0PUR_C03, is a std one so you can go to each field of it and press F1 key, that will open help for that perticular field. And you get to know what that field store in that cube.
I hope it is of some use of you.
    Thanks and Regards,

  • Rebate Agreement Sales Volume

    Dear All,
We have a strange issue in Rebate Agreements.
When we Open Rebate Agreement in Change Mode and click on Sales Volume Button ( Shift F5) then it navigates to Sales Volume Screen. Now if we change the Agreement Status to B ( Agreement Released for Settlement) on the Initial screen and then go to Sales Volume Screen then at the top of the screen their is a Information which says
    There are messages
This Information message is not shown for all rebate agreeements. It is getting shown only for few agreements which we do not have any clue as to why it is happening?
Can any one throw some light on What does this Message " There are messages" means? Because on that screen their is no option to check what messages the system is referring to.
Also in which scenarios this occurs?
    Regards,
    Madhukar

    Hi Aayush
When you rebuild the rebate index table VBOX all agreement conditions will be set to retroactive again. I guess someone has run RV15B001 on your system in the meantime ?
The "Sales Volume is not current" message is issued when the rebate condition is flagged as retroactive (KONP-KSPAE) SDBONT06 resets that when it has completed a successful update
So just run SDBONT06 again, all of you 93 agreements are updated so the report will only reset the KONP-KSPAE field on the conditions in that case.
    Hope it helps you further
    Kind regards
    Brian
