Hi,
The name of the Colour you want is 'OLAFVeryLight' - note this is case sensitive, this works for the BLAF and the new 11g SWAN themes.
This colour will change depending on which scheme you use, if you use the old darker schemes such as TEAL or BLUE then 'OLAFDark' is the background colour you want.
This is a list of the Oracle Look and Feel (OLAF) colours, note they are all case sensitive:
automatic (this changes depending on the object it is applied to)
OLAFVeryLight
OLAFLight
OLAFDark
OLAFVeryDark
OLAF0
OLAF1
OLAF2
OLAF3
OLAF4
You might want to create a form with items using all these colours and run them using the different schemes to get a feel for how they work.
A word of warning though, these colours are undocumented and may not work in future releases or even patches, but they do work with 10g and 11g at present.

Adjusting PDF properties changes canvas color?

When I adjust properties on a PDF the canvas color changes from nearly black to bluish gray. Is there a way to prevent this from happening? Or a way to change the color back?
I'm not talking about the background color of the PDF page itself (which can be accessed at Document > Background > Add/Replace). I'm talking about the color that surrounds the page and is the screen background in Full Screen Mode.
I have tried this in both in Acrobat 8.3.1 and Acrobat 11.0.0 for the Mac and the same thing happens.

Thanks! Selecting "Hide window controls" does seem to be the only trigger.
The good thing is that the effect is reversible (deselecting "Hide window controls" returns the background color to what it was before).
Is this a bug? I don't see the point of it as a feature. For that matter, it would be useful to have background choices beyond these two colors.

How do you add File name to returned forms as a field

I'm sure this can be done just not sure how, I have begun a database using returned forms but want a field/footer at bottom of page showing the file name of the returned form so that each returned form can be identified easier for the purpose of the database. That is when I look up the dataset file I wouls like file name as one of the fields. The files use the format Sub Defect Form (1), Sub Defect Form (2), Sub Defect Form (3) etc etc. It is this file name I want to include in the dataset information and as a field on the bottom of the returned form. Any help with this would be much appreciated.

Now it's taking hours for emails.

Text missing from returned form

I created a PDF form in InDesign CS6 on a Macbook Pro. The form is quite complicated with many form fields, radio boxes, check boxes, a few required fields and an email submit button. It is used by our sales reps to fill out their customer information for each sale. They hit the email submit button and return the email to our business office, which receives the PDF form in whole (not just the data), and uses it to enter the information into a database. This has been going very smoothly for over a year.
Rather suddenly a few weeks ago, the business office noticed that form fields in returned forms were acting strangely. Text was invisible until the field containing the text was clicked on. Then the text became visible.
The business office was only aware that the text was missing because it was unusual for those particular form fields to be left empty, so they called the sales reps to question the empty fields and were told they had been filled in...once they knew the fields should have been filled, they clicked and voila!...they weren't really empty.
The method used to create the tickets has not been changed in the past few weeks and no updates have been made to the computers that have been creating the tickets, so we believe we have eliminated errors there (but we're open to suggestions there, of course!)
The PDFs are being filled out mostly on computers running Windows XP or above (none running Windows 8) and using Acrobat Reader 10 or 11. They are being opened in the business office on computers running Windows XP. The business office computers are running Acrobat Reader 11.
If you have any thoughts or suggestions on what might be causing the issue of the disappearing text, I'd love to hear them!

This is happening because your user filled the PDF form using MAC Preview. Ask them to fill and submit the form using Adobe Reader and Acrobat only then everything should work fine.

Can anyone advice how to do this ?
Can the currCanvas.inheritProperty(arg0) be used in this case ?

Note that I used a Footer Row in my Table. Headers and Footers have special properties. (A poster in the last couple of weeks asked for a summary of Header and Footer properties - somewhat frustrated that he couldn't find a succinct description in the User Guide. Well, there isn't one and the answer is so complicated that nobody has taken on the project. Now we have a new version of Numbers and the answer would need to change.)
The way to avoid the error is to use a Footer Row and to use the shortcut cell reference notation: =SUMIF(C,TRUE,B). The columns are specified, but the row range is not. Footers are exempt in this notation, so no error is generated regarding a circular reference.

You will have to move away from the "submit form" event and run a javascript. I have attached the script below. Please note that it has a down side it will toggle your local email client by default. I am working on a script that will offer a selection between local and internet based email clients.

Canvas Color

I just started using Illustrator CS4 and I'm finding the canvas color (not the artboard color) a little bright for my eyes' comfort.
I'm aware of the ability to change the brightness of the interface, but this does not affect the canvas color. Is there a way to change this?

Turn on the Transparency Grid in the View menu. Change the grid colour in Document Setup. No need to draw anything.

Canvas color won't change, only remains white.

I opened Illustrator and my canvas color is white. I tried changing it in the user interface but it just remains white. I checked and unchecked Overprint preview and nothing. I think maybe I hit a key or somehting but does anyopne know how I can change the canvas color back to a dark gray?

Turn on simulate colored paper
Set top swatch to color to a dark grey
Click ok
The only really use for this is if you have colored paper/canvas, is this what you want. If not just dray a dark grey rectangle adn send to back.

the windows primary canvas is the stacked but only the DEFAULT&SMARTBAR is displaying ...!!!

Saving returned form data?

Hi,
I'm wondering if when I have my returned form data back I can then export it including the answers as a downloadable PDF?
I know you can on a paid account which is fine but I would like to know if it will be in the format and design of the original form only now including the filled in fields or is it just a PDF of the form results in a table?

Hi,
Yes, you could export the responses as PDF. In 'View Responses' tab, you should have an option to "Save as PDF" which is saving the selected response as a PDF Form - one response at a time.

Yes - in both the "Basic" and "Plus" level account you will be able to "Download Response as PDF Form" which downloads a PDF that looks like the original form filled out. There are a few caveats to that, the layout may change in the PDF to accommodate fields where the text input was larger than the field, the field will "grow" to display all of the text so it can be printed correctly. Also, attachments would not be included in the downloaded PDF response.
Have a look at this PDF since it goes over designing for PDF, and the information on "Page Breaks" in "Page View" will apply to any PDF saved from the form (not only for distribution, but also the Response PDF), you will want to use that info to add Page Breaks in Page View for your downloaded PDFs: Tutorial: Creating and distributing fillable PDF forms

Help me show rowcount of a cursor on forms canvas,,

i mean..
The program unit is not in the forms application but in the oracle server side.
i need to show a cursor's rowcount on forms canvas
while a cursor is running loop in the program unit in real-time..
so i used the when-timer-expired trigger that reads a data(related record count from some table) every 1second.
i hoped that the timer trigger synchrozes with the server program unit.
but there was only one time event when the server program unit has finished.
How can i resolve the problem..??

I have changed my background canvas color too White through the preferences system... but it hasn't changed. Can anyone help me with this as I'm tearing my hair out!!

That is NOT the way it is supposed to work. The background color preference is global to the application, it does not work on a project by project basis. This preference setting determines what FCP X displays in the Viewer in areas where you have no content (or where the content is transparent) - as in the present case, where the photos do not cover the whole viewer area.
You can easily confirm this. Open some project with a transparent area, and set the background to say, white.
You should see white showing through any transparent area (that's what the OP was expecting, and it should happen!).
Now close this project, open something else. Switch to, say, checkerboard background.
Open the previous project and see the checkerboard (not white!) background.
One workaround for the present problem is to place a custom generator behind the content, and set its color to white. But of course this should not have been necessary.

About the canvas color

i had made a visual attribute,
changing the background color property at runtime by set_va_property().
suppose i am changing the background color value R0G0B100 by set_va_property().
when this value set at design time of visual attribute gives exact color.
when this value set at runtime gives different color.
i am using forms6i.

<p>I don't understand why Sandeep cannot use the full range of colors. He did not explain what happens. But that reminds me... there IS a Forms bug where at some versions, the runtime stops translating the color changes, and reverts back to using colors only from the color palette. Oracle knows about it, but is taking forever to fix the problem.
<p>There is also a Windows screen display setting where the blended colors will not display -- If you use a 256 colors setting, the result will be solid colors, or something worse with Forms runtime.
<p>If you want to experiment with color shades, you can download my Color.fmb form. It even has a pl/sql translation function to convert (both ways) the 0-100 Forms Builder colors into 0-255 actual color settings used at run time. The Color.fmb form is aware of the Forms bug, and issues a message when the run time stops displaying colors correctly.
