Return (\r) showing as a Seperate Line

Question

I have a Java Application, after processing inserts the results into a table, and write the results into a file.
From the Forms application, i query the same table, but it appears as having a second line ie [] after the enter character.
But in the DB as well as in file, it is showing correctly.
Like from java if i write,
first line + '\r\n' + secondline
In db n file it shows as
first line
second line
and in forms it shows as
first line[]
second line
I am using '\r\n' combination for the next line in Java.
When i change it to '\n' alone, it opens up correctly from Forms, but opening the file in Notepad shows junk characters.

Strangely, Forms doesn't recognize chr(13). You need to strip out the chr(13) and replace it with chr(10).
