Revenue a/c determination

Dear all,
                I raised a sales order - Delivery - Billing.
At VF02 when i am trying to pass it to a/cing i am getting an error "Error in in a/c determination"
I checked the revenue a/c analysis at VF02 there i find VPRS and for it A/c key is missing.
I checked my pricing procedure at V/08 there i find for VPRS there is a tick mark against Required. There i changed it to Stastical and again ran a cycle from VA01 to VF01.Then my problem was solved.
I want to know the link between Tick mark for VPRS in pricing procedure to Revenue A/c Determination. How the the controls in pricing procedure are controlling Revenue A/c determination?
Thanks.
Regards,
Aditya.

Hi,
If you set the Field Required, means it will be Mandatory to determine the Price and hence pass the value to Accounting using the Accounting Key.
If the field is statistical, then the value wont be used in calculating the Net value and hence the value is not passed to Accounting and no Accounting Key.
So for Statistical, the value is not passed to the Accounting .
Hope it is clear

santosh

    Dear Gurus,
I required the suggestion of the subject mentioned.
Why the field --2'nd field of G/L account is there in account determinatin.
If it is useful, where we are using
If not, please suggest its significance.
A bit of confusion is there.
    Please throw some lights

This is a Provisional Account. In the year starting a particular Value will be posted against Example EB, 1 lac per year, whereas in every month the EB charge is 10k, then in the year end it will be 1.2 lac, the diff 20 k will get posted against the EB account.
In the year end they will find the differentiate amount and post the difference if any or reverse it if it excess.

  • Project POC to determine actual cost and actual revenue

    Dear all experts,
please help me on the following issue.
i am working on a project for sales.
the project actual cost and actual revenue will be determined by the project POC.
i have read the SAP help about project progress.
    but it confused me.
my first question is how can i caculated the actual POC?
is there a standard predefined way to solve it?
please give me some hints or suggestions.
    thanks a lot.
    Judy

    Hi,
Can anyone detail the steps involved in carrying out RA with Valuation Method 7 with progressive value analysis. Here, we can give a percentage of POC into the system as certified by the Engineers unlike Valuation method 3 where the POC is calculated on the basis of actual costs incurred.
In the case of valuation method 3, only revenue is analysed by the system with reference to the POC and necessary entries are posted as Revenue surplus or Revenue in excess of billings. Whereas in the case of valuation method 7, both the revenue and costs are analysed and necessary provisions are made both for revenue and costs.

  • Difference between Revenue Acct Determination , Revenue Recognition

    Hi All,,
Can any one exmplain me clearly the difference between Revenue Account Determination, Revenue Recognition and Reconciliation Account determination
    Regards
    Rajesh

    Hi Rajes
    REVENUE ACCT. DETERMINATION:
    Account Determination
    Use
To be able to use revenue recognition, you should select several special general ledger accounts. Choose: Sales and Distribution -> Basic Functions -> Account assignment/Costing -> Revenue Recognition
    Determining the Revenue Account
Revenue recognition uses revenue account determination. To set up revenue account determination, use transaction VKOA.
    Determining Non-Billed Receivables Accounts
The account for non-billed receivables is a special general ledger account, used to determine revenue which has been implemented but not yet billed.
If you want to set up an account, join an account with non-billed receivables together with a customer reconciliation account which is a part of your chart of accounts. You can use the transaction OVUR for this.
The standard system has the balance sheet account 142100 for non-billed receivables in the USA and in Canada (Accruals and Deferred Income).
    Determining the Deferred Revenue Account
The deferred revenue account is a special general ledger account, used to determine revenue which has been billed but not yet implemented.
The system determines the deferred revenue account for a document item using standard SD account determination. Use the transaction VKOA for this.
    REVENUE RECOGNITION:
Revenue Recognition Method 1: Sales Basis
This is the method that probably makes the most sense to investors. Under the sales basis method, revenue is recognized at the time of sale (defined as the moment when the title of the goods or services is transferred to the buyer.) The sale can be for cash or credit (i.e., accounts receivable.) This means that revenue is not recognized even if cash is received before the transaction is complete. A magazine publisher, for example, that receives $120 a year for an annual subscription, will only recognize $10 of revenue every month. The reason is simple: if they went out of business, they would have to return a pro-rated portion of the annual subscription price to the customer since it had not yet delivered the merchandise for which it had been paid.
Revenue Recognition Method 2: Percentage of Completion
Companies that build bridges or aircraft take years to deliver the product to the customer. In this case, the company responsible for building the product wants to be able to show its shareholders that it is generating revenue and profits even though the project itself is not yet complete. As a result, it will use the percentage of completion method for revenue recognition if two conditions are met: 1.) there is a long-term legally enforceable contract and 2.) it is possible to estimate the percentage of the project complete, revenues and costs.
Under this method, there are two ways revenue recognition can occur:
Using milestones such as number of railway track complete
A construction company is paid $100,000 to build fifty miles of highway. For every mile the company completes, it is going to recognize $2,000 in revenue on its income statement ($100,000 / 50 miles = $2,000 per mile.)
Cost incurred to estimated total cost
Using this metric, the construction company would approach revenue recognition by comparing the cost incurred to-date by the estimated total cost. For example: The business expects the same $100,000 of highway to cost it $80,000 in parts, material, labor, etc. At the end of the first month, it has spent $5,000 working on the project. $5,000 is 6.25% of $80,000; therefore, it would multiply the total revenue ($100,000) by the percentage of the cost incurred (6.25%), or $6,250, and recognize this amount as revenue on its income statement.
One caveat: if you find yourself reading through the 10K of a company that is utilizing the percentage of completion revenue recognition method, you may want to watch out for premature booking of expenses such as the purchase of raw goods. Until the goods have actually been used in the production cycle (e.g., pouring the actual concrete on the job site, not purchasing the concrete at Home Depot), the cost should not be counted. A business that does not make this distinction is prone to overstate revenue, gross profit, and net income for the period as a result.

  • SD planned revenues from inactive price condition

    Hello,
    please assist.
Revenue elements from the SD pricing procedure (coditions) that are not statistical are updated as planned revenue on the sales order item (within table COSP with the business transaction SDOR).
The relevant revenue accounts are determined within the revenue account determination.
Is the revenue account determination processed also for SD conditions, which are inactive (KOMV-KINAK)?
We have got an issue, that also some conditions, which are inactive because of subsequent price (KOMV-KINAK=Y) are updated into the COSP-SDOR as planned revenue. Therefore the position has more planned revenue within the result analysis and as we use the revenue based result analysis method, it influences the WIP calculation.
    Thanks in advance
    P

    Issue solved.
The reason was the SAP Note 1062462.
This note is used to extract also inactive conditions into BW. Unfortunatelly, due to this modification, the inactive conditions are not deleted from xmckomv, which is used also for updating the planned revenues (and other SIS statistics, which are based on the conditions), so they were added to the planned revenues.
We have to deimplement the note.

  • Revenue accout and reconsilation account

    Hi gurus,
what is diffeerence between reconcilation account and revnue account.  anothe one is differrence between smartform and script.

    Revenue account and reconciliation account
    Revenue Account
It is for Sales Revenue and is determined by SD-FI integration , which is linked in pricing procedure by Account key and other combinations as defined in Tcode VKOA. So sales revenue account is updated every time when billing document is posted.
    Reconciliation account
A customer master record in SD is also an A/R (accounts receivables) in FI. When you create a customer master record you also have to specify the reconciliation account. Account in G/L accounting, to which automatic entries are posted during a business activity. It is generally the case that several sub ledger accounts post to a common reconciliation account.
This ensures that the developments in the sub ledger accounts are accurately reflected in the general ledger (i.e. in line with balance sheet conventions). You can set up a reconciliation account for, say, all overseas customers.
for further info, view following link
    revenue account and reconciliation account
    Smartform and script
    Smartform
Forms define the text format and page layout of documents. You can format them for display on the screen or output to a printer according to the definitions.
    1. supports multiple pages ; 2. main window  not necessary ; 3. Labels cannot be created ; 4. routines can be written ; 5. A functional module is generated on activation ; 6. Cannot be downloaded to hard disk ; 7. smart form is client independent.
    Scripts
    Its nothing but layout.
    1. multiple pages not supported ; 2. main window is necessary ; 3. Labels can be created ; 4. routines cannot be written ; 5. no functional module gets generated on activation ; 6. can be downloaded to hard disk ; 7. sap scripts are client dependent.
SMART FORM IS MORE PREFERRED PRINTING UTILITY.
One request, kindly check SDN or google before you post you query on SDN.
    Hope it solved you query.

  • Bill doc could not be released to accounting automatically

I have a problem on a particular billing type (document category P u2013 debit note) where the billing document could not be released to accounting automatically upon saving. The message VF050 is shown with Document xx saved (no accounting document generated). Subsequent release of the billing document to the accounting manually has no problem and no error was thrown. Looking through the account determination analysis shows that the correct revenue account is determined, so there should be no problem with the account determination setup. The billing type is also not set up with posting block, so it should release to accounting automatically.
What could be the possible problems or any other areas that I could check to trace the problem?
    kt

    Hi KT
First of all check in VOFA wheather Posting block has been maintained or not
Secondly also check wheather Revenue Account determination procedure has been done or not
Run VFX3 and finally pass it on to FI and while passing it on to FI you can check why the error has occurred

  • VF01  Issue: no accounting document generated

    Dears,
While Billing the Down Payment (VF01) in ETO case of IDES, the system issued a message: no accounting document generated. So the payment data can not be updated. Does anyone know how to solve this problem?  Thx!

    Hi,
If the accounting document is not generated there might be couple of reasons.
    To know the reason
Goto change mode of Billing document VF02, and goto top left corner menu, Billing document -> Release to accounting.
Then you will get the reason why the accounting document is not generated.
    The reason might be
    1. Revenue Acc. Determination is not done properly
    2. Or the G/L account which you maintained might not be maintained properly.
hope it is useful. Reward the points if found useful.
Get back in case any help is needed.
    Thanks!

  • Separate account billing

want to have separate billing for account >Personal information deleted. To the poster, this is a public forum. You need to call Customer Service at 800-922-0204 to have your request address<

    Hi,
If your requirement is to post IV revenues to diff a/c from regular revenues a/c you would have to proceed as below-
    1) Assign a different" a/c assignment group" to your internal customer master. ( customer representing the buying sales org) as compared to the regular customers.
    2) In your revenue a/c determination map the revenue account based on the customer a/c assignment group. This way you can differenciate revenue accounts.
    3) It would also help if you maintain a different reconciliation a/c in the internal customer master so that receivables can be managed separately fron the regula receivables.
Pl let me know if this helps.

  • Rev account determ based on customer account assign group of ship to party

    Hi
In our company revenue account gets determined based on Sales org/cust acc assignment group / mat acc assignment grp / Dest Cntry / ActKy (VKOA table 502) . Customer account assignment group and Dest country are from sold to party customer account assignment group.
Our client wants these to come from ship to party rather on sold to party, I checked fields and tables in SPRO-> sales & dist  How can we achieve this?
    Thanks,
    Vaishnavi

    Hello,
As per my knowledge, the Dest country, Shipping Address & other shipping related data are determine from SH-Ship to party.
Whereas, pricing & shipping condition related data are determines from Sold to Party.
To add 501-Sales org/cust acc assignment group / mat acc assignment grp / Dest Cntry / ActKy for your VKOA is not a standard table. check the same using tcode in V/14.
Thus, I like to conclude by stating that the Destination country is actually is determined from Ship to Party, not Sold to Party and the table suggest/maintain is the best solution to your customer requirement.

  • Not able to release to accounting Document

    Hi Friend
Billing document created, but subsequently not able to release to accounting document.
Error messgae: Acct determin error  (message# VF051)
    Please advise.
    Rgds

    Dear R G,
Check the v/08 settings. The relevant conditions on the billing documents should be linked to account keys which are mapped in vkoa. It is not only revenue keys that may be affected. Check whether there are other conditions (like rebate, discounts, etc) on your billing documnet, and make sure that they are mapped to the appropriate accounts.
You may want to have a look at the wiki posting "How to trace Account Determination for SD billing " This may help you while you are at VKOA with reference to your billing document to trace what is missing. Check at https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/wiki today's recent posting.
    Beside that
    Plz check 2 things.

  • CProjects Planned costs display

Can you display planned costs in cprojects after doing financial integration(Calculated on Role/Task revenue rates) against each phase or task without going into each individual task separately.
Which all options of displaying planned costs are available and how are these configures ?
Is this carried out via the planning mechanism chosen Role-based resource planning or Task Based. If yes, Where do you specify which of the 2 options to choose ?whether you want to choose role based or task based planning.

    Hai Pooja
Costing is carried out in cProjects based on the project roles r tasks.
Reg tasks based cost planning u can assign the required capacity to the individual tasks during the planning of the project structure. This required capacity is multiplied by the cost/revenue rates ti determine the planned costs and planned revenues.
Task is done by a role  - means for example Project Manager specifies which positions are to be filled up - these positions are called in cProjects as Roles(resources for the project). Thye are assigned to the tasks in which the positions are involved.
Check the configuration in - SPRO - cProjects - Connection to external system - Accounting Integration - Integration using Single Object Controlling in SAP R/3 CO - Make General settings

  • CX debit entry

    Dear All,
I am creating a SD invoice for new company code. when i checked accounting doc after creating a invoice, debit entry and credit entry get posted to same G/L account.

    Dear Friend,
If you are using TAXINN procedure, then your Tax conditions would be either JIVP (VAT) or JCST (CST).
Now as you might be know, Sales & other revenue accounts are determined & posted thru GL accounts mentioned in VKOA (Assign GL Accounts).
But Tax Accounts are determined thry GL accounts mentioned in OB40 against account Key.
What you can do is While maintaining Condition records for VAT or CST, enter Tax Codes in Tax Code column.
Now go to OB40, select the account key mentioned in Pricing Procedure against Tax Conditions & mention required GL Accounts against required TAx Codes.
By doing the above you can have seperate GL accounts for VAT & CST... These accounts can also be seperate for each state...
    Hoep this helps...
    Give points if useful...

  • Haulier Self Billing (ERS) produces zero value invoice on RSEG

    Hi,
I've been looking at this problem for two days now without any joy.  I'm getting zero value invoices that I can find on RSEG.  I suspect that I have corrupt shipments and am trying to compare the corruption on RSEG to files VFKK \ VFKP where the self billing originates from.
I cannot find how these tables are linked in order to trace the problem back.
Does anyone know or has anyone else come accross this problem.
    Any help much appreciated
    Many thanks

    Hi,
Go to, T. Code: VF02 --> Key-in your Invoice No. and click on the green flag (release to accounting), now the system will show the exact error.
    > When I did this, it says:
An accounting document is not required for this billing document.
    Message Number: VF076.
    Diagnosis:
The billing document has the net value 'zero' and does not create an accounting document.
Despite this, the posting status 'C'(Posting document has been created) is set internally for this billing document.
Alternatively, you may also check with:
    VF02 --> Invoice No. --> Enter --> Header (Menu-bar) --> Environment --> Account Determination Analysis --> Revenue A/C determination
    > When I did this, it just shows as:
Left Column: Procedure: KOFI00 and Description: Account Determination thatz all.
    Right side: Overview -
    Everything is blank.
