Reverse engineering an iweb project

I sort of inherited a website that was built with iWeb and need to make a few (hopefully), small (hopefully) changes.  I'm not an iWeb user.  The website has a navigation bar at the top that is tied via a .js to a file called "feed.xml".  What is the purpose of the URNs in the feed.xml file and what's a good way to either create a legit URN or fake a "good enough" one?
TIA,
eric

Thanks for the info.  So navbar.js (the ajax widget) uses feed.xml to populate the navigation bar.  The urns are used to link navbar items in feed.xml to the corresponding, actual html pages in the site.  And there's nothing really magical about using uuids except that a program can generate a unique uuid without having to know what uuids already exist.

  • UML modeling by reverse-engineering a JAVA project

    I can't seem to get over a basic hurdle to get started with UML modeling. I open an existing JAVA project. I then start a new project and choose "UML" and "-Platform model by reverse-engineering a JAVA project". Next I give the UML project a name and try to open my existing JAVA project. But the wizard does not show any project!
    Appreciate your help.
    Phil

    UML in JSE8 can reverse engineer all 4 built-in types of Java project defined in IDE. To prove that, I just downloaded apache ant source 1.6.5 from http://ant.apache.org/srcdownload.cgi and successfully reverse engineered it with JSE8.
    If you have a project with existing ant script , it's extremely easy, you absolutely don't need to hand-create a java project from scratch to specify source, library dependency etc. Just follow the wizard "create a Java project with existing ant script" to specify your Java project location, the ant script location, and * don't forget * to specify the source location. Any project without source folder specified is not considered a valid candidate for Reverse Engineer, and you won't see it listed under the project chooser in UML wizard when trying to associate the current UML project with a Java project. Please right click to bring up your source project properties to verify if you have source package folder correctly spelled out.
    It IS a supported feature, do let us know if you still have troubles to RE your project.

  • Reverse engineering tool from the uml modeling tutorial

    My problem arises at the point where the tutorial wants you to generate code. I generate the code for the bankAccount.java and the accountTest.java and that works fine. I add setBalance(getBalance()+amount); to bankAccount.java. I then add the main class to the AccountTest.java and reformat the code. That all works fine. Then when I do the reverse engineering going through steps 8-10, the Model Element Overwrite Authorization dialog box, never appears, and the main() method never gets written back into the AccountTest class. Does anyone have any suggestions as to why this is happening?

    What version (or build) of UML are you using? You can find out by going Tools->Module Manager, find a uml module under UML category, right click on the module and bring up Properties, build number is listed under "Expert" section. What's your system platform? JDK?
    In step 9, is the target uml project selected? Do you have other uml projects open at the same time?

  • Forward and Reverse Engineering

    Hello,
    Iu2019m very new to ABAP Objects and I want to know, if there any solution for Forward Engineering, which means you modeled some classes in an UML tool like ARIS and import the XMI-File in the SAP-System and its generating the classes automatically?
    Well, I´m also interested in Reverse Engineering. Do you know a solution for an export of classes to an external UML tool (maybe via XMI)?
    Thanks for your answers.
    Edited by: Neil Gardiner on Sep 24, 2010 9:47 AM

    Hi,
    ABAP -> UML reverse engineering functionality is available starting with release 7.02 and 7.20.
    You will find them in transaction SE80 in the context menu of classes, interfaces, programs and function-groups (Display -> UML Class Diagram). The UML class diagram cannot be manually modified but there are many options to configure it. There is no plan for supporting two-way-editing functionality in the future. Nevertheless you will be able to print the UML class diagram, export the UML class diagram in XMI format (without graphic) or as an bitmap and you will be able to generate an ABAPDoc like HTML document including UML class diagram bitmaps.
    The XMI file can be imported in third party UML tools (e.g. StarUML and Altova UModel), to generate UML diagrams and to modify the classes and interfaces. Therefore, XMI download can be very useful in ABAP refactoring projects. Because of the ABAP Objects UML Class Diagram is designed for reverse engineering, there is currently no plan for an XMI upload functionality.

  • Reverse engineering with Rational Rose

    Is anybody using the above?
    If so, have you developed any scripts to facilitate updating the Rose model,
    and which you'd be willing to share? Or perhaps discuss jointly writing
    same?
    Ideally, there would be an Fscript to facilitate exposting Forte projects,
    and a Rose script to facilitate import.
    TIA,
    Eric

    Eric,
    As part of tool evaluation for modeling, We evaluated Rational Rose 98i . We
    were able to import forte pex files into Rose model.
    We had no problems with reverse engineering but there were problems related to
    round trip engineering.
    Since Rational Rose 98i did not have a repository based solution for
    configuration management, it was quite a task to keep the model in sync with
    multiple users updating it. However, I believe you can use Microsoft Source
    safe for configuration management though we did not try this.

  • Reverse Engineering fails to "identify" parent - child relationship

    Using Reverse Engineering I obtained two classes - visual compapesence clearly shows that one is inherited from another.
    I wish I could copy and paste individual "class Diagrams' for each of those two to demonstrate my point ...
    How I could merge those two class diagrams together and "force"
    to recognize "parent" <-> child relationship /

    On possible solution is to create a diagram in each pacakge that was reverse engineered.
    I agree with peter, that a single diagram would not be useful when revese engineering a large project. When diagram get that large, it is hard to see more than a couple of model elements at one time. While we do have the Navigate Link tool, it is still painful to navigate around the diagram. If you printed a diagram that big, it would take up an entire wall.
    It is hard to determine what diagrams are needed to explain a software project. For this reason, we have tried to make it easy to build diagrams. Peter, mentioned the first mechanism. Create Diagram From Selected (CDFS) was designed to allow the user to select the model elements that need to populate a diagram. When performing CDFS the diagram will be populated, Relationship Discovery will be executed, and the diagram will be layed out.
    Another approach is to create a dependency diagram. You can select a model element, and create a dependency diagram. The contents of a dependency diagram will be the model elements that the selected model element uses. For example, if the model element generalizes from another model element, the super class will be present on the diagram. If another model elements extends the selected model element, the subclass will not be represented on the dependency diagram.
    Another diagram creation tool that might be needed is a inheritance diagram creator. An inheritance diagram creator, would make it very easy to see model element super classes, implemented interfaces, and the subclasses.
    I hope this helps.

  • JSE 8 reverse engineering trouble

    I am a complete noob to Java...programming as a whole actually. I am trying to reverse engineer a java project created in NetBeans to get a UML class diagram. I am trying to do it through JSE8, but it doesn't seem to be working at all. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    For my Java course I created a project with two classes in NetBeans. I downloaded/installed JSE8 because it is supposed to be able to reverse engineer from NetBeans.
    I did a search and didn't come up with the tutorial you listed...but I'll give it a shot in a moment.
    In JSE8 I open the java project I created in NetBeans, then open a new UML project for reverse engineering with the link to the java project. Then I get nothing. Both projects display in the "projects" section, but I can't figure out how to get a UML class diagram to display. When I right click on the new UML project and choose class diagram, nothing happens. The first time I tried I got a diagram of only one class from the java project, so I closed both projects and tried again. Now I'm getting nothing.
    What I need is a UML class diagram that involves both classes. I've been trying different UML modeling programs all morning and haven't been able to find one yet that will include both classes and show interdependency.
    Can you suggest an alternate method?
    Here's the program in case it matters:
    public class ToysManager
    private static int Train1;
    private static int Train2;
    private static int Train3;
    public ToysManager()
    public static void main(String[] args)
    System.out.println("ToysManager");
    ToddlerToy Train1 = new ToddlerToy(489, "Big Train", 19.95);
    ToddlerToy Train2 = new ToddlerToy(489, "Big Train", 19.95);
    ToddlerToy Train3 = new ToddlerToy(477, "Small Train", 12.95);
    Train1.printProductInformation();
    Train2.printProductInformation();
    Train3.printProductInformation();
    public class ToddlerToy
    private int ProductID;
    private String ProductName;
    private double ProductPrice;
    public ToddlerToy()
    public ToddlerToy(int prodID, String prodName, double prodPrice)
    ProductID = prodID;
    ProductName = prodName;
    ProductPrice = prodPrice;
    public void setProductID(int prodID)
    ProductID = prodID;
    public int getProductID()
    return ProductID;
    public void setProductName (String prodName)
    ProductName = prodName;
    public String getProductName()
    return ProductName;
    public void setProductPrice (float prodPrice)
    ProductPrice = prodPrice;
    public double getProductPrice()
    return ProductPrice;
    public void printProductInformation()
    System.out.println("***********************");
    System.out.println(ProductID + ", " + ProductName + ", " + ProductPrice);
    System.out.println("***********************");
    }

  • How can i transfer iWeb projects to a different computer?

    This may be a simple question, but does anyone know how I can transfer an iWeb project from one computer to another, so that I can work on the site from a different computer than the one that created it?

  • IWeb projects from two computers. How do I combine onto one machine.

    Hi,
    I have been working on five sites in total. Three of them were satrted on my iMac G5 and recently I have just started two more but on my new MacBookPro.
    They are all published, but I now want to combine all of the projects onto my MacBookPro. After some research it seems that iWeb saves one file called Domain in the iWeb folder. I can't have two Domian files in the same folder (one replaces the other)
    Question is, how do I combine all of my iWeb projects together into one Domain file?
    Any help appreciated.
    Keith

    I was wondering the same thing, for the same
    reason...it sounds as if the separate domain files
    must be maintained separately [maybe in separately
    named folders in AppSupport/iWeb? and then just
    switch between the separate folders to be able to
    edit on one machine....but then be careful when you
    do an Announce, because it'll only send
    http://web.mac.com/nameofuser to the people and it
    might open up Site #2 and not the one you sent,
    right??
    This is the reason there are applications like iWebSites (http://mistergregg.com/cocoadrillosoftware/) that help you to switch in and out different domain files. With multiple sites, you must specify the longer URL in order to get people to the specific site. I don't think the Announce email function is really up to snuff in this regard.
    Any easy way to cure this issue of being able to
    easily announce Site 2 to some and Site 3 to others?
    without visiting sites and sending the LONG link????
    that's inelegant.
    See my post to you about subdomain forwarding in this thread...

  • How do I find the 'name' of a photo I've used in iWeb project?

    I've built an iWeb project.  I've used a certain photo as a background.  I've got three versions of that photo, almost identical, in my 'photos' folder.  I want to find out which was the exact one used.  Is there a way IN iWeb, while working on a project, to get the names of the various elements being used, specifically the photos?
    All ears,
    Ben

    In iMovie 9, look in your iMovie Events and iMovie Projects folders.
    In iMovie 10, look in your .imovielibrary package (right click & select "Show package contents")
    The default location of these is in your Users / ,user name> / Movies folder.

    Hi,
    Under the readme eRPI : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/readme/erpi_1112200_readme.html
    I find this :
    ODI Setup Steps to Integrate with Financial Management
    To setup the ODI to integrate with Financial Management:
    Rename odiparams.bat located at <ODI_HOME>\oracledi\agent\bin to odiparams.bat.backup.
    The default installation location is C:\app\Oracle\product\11.1.1\Oracle_ODI_1.
    Download Oracle Data Integrator Companion CD 11.1.1.6.2.
    Unzip the contents of the Companion CD to the temp directory.
    Unzip oracledi-agent-standalone.zip.
    Copy the contents to: <ODI_HOME>.
    Make a backup of the HFMDriver.DLL.
    For the 32 bit operating system, copy HFMDriver32_11.1.2.2.dll as HFMDriver.DLL.
    For the 64bit operating system, copy HFMDriver64_11.1.2.2.dll as HFMDriver.DLL.
    Rename odiparams.bat.backup from Step 1 to odiparams.
    Edit the PATH to include: <ODI_HOME>\oracledi.sdk\lib
    Restart the ODI Agent.
    I try this procedure, but now, I have a new error :
    - Unable to connect on "myhfmserver" with "admin" user
    I think that, there is another step to do, because now HFM 11.1.2.2 use directly the "EPM Registry" (into Shared Services Schema) to retreive the HFM servers ou Clusters.
    But I don't find any information, how to setup this part into ODI.
    Or may be, we need to setup "Regedit Keys" into Windows registry like previous HFM release ?
    If you have any news, please inform me

  • Unable to generate Logical Model Diagrams through Reverse Engineering

    Hi,
    I am currently using SQL Developer Data Modeler Version-3.0.04.
    I have generated Logical Model Diagrams from Relational Model Diagrams through Reverse Engineering (Done by pressing an" engineer to Logical Model button" on top panel of sql developer) .I saved the DMD file (source file) once i had done generating the logical diagrams.Now if i reopen the DMD and open the logical diagram again I found that most of the tables had lost their relationships.So i tried to regenerate the Logical Model Diagram again from the same Relational Diagram but it is not being generated unless i create a new Relational Diagram.Is there a way to generate multiple Logical Diagrams for the same Relational Diagram rather than creating a new one for each Logical Diagram to be created.
    Regards .
    Thanks in advance.

    Any comments on this issue?. Please let us know.

  • Error in Reverse Engineering an XML file

    I am tring to set up ODI to read and XML file and post it to a DB.
    I am using Oracle Data Integrator 10.1.3.5
    I have set up the Connection in the Topology Manager and when I ran the Test it returned OK.
    I went to the Model tab in the Designer and tried to Reverse engineer the file. I followed the instruction int he User's Guide but I get an error:
    The Technology or the Driver used doesn not support Reverse Engineering. The User's guide says you can do it, but Designer tells me I can't.
    Has anyone received this error before and how can i get around it.
    I am using:
    com.sunopsis.jdbc.driver.xml.SnpsXmlDriver
    as the JDBC Driver. THat is the one used in the guide and example.
    JDBC URL:
    jdbc:snps:xml?f=c:\OraHome_1\Oracledi\MercuryGate\MGTransImpTemplatev1.0.1.xml&re=MercuryGate&ro=true&case_sens=true&s=MercGate
    Any help will be appreciated.
