Rewind audio attached to an image

I am building a slide where there are 3 buttons a learner can click on. There are 3 images each with audio attached to them
Clicking any of the buttons executes an advance action that shows a specific image and plays attached audio. It also hides the others so they can click on any button at any time so only one image shows/one audio plays at any given time.
My problem is with audio not rewinding e.g.:
if you click on Button1 image shows and audio plays - works fine
then if you click on Button2 - image1/audio1 goes away and image2/audio2 starts - works fine.
butif you were to click Button2 before audio on Image1 is finished then when you go back to Button1 the audio starts where it left off. Is there anyway I can have audio rewind so no matter when you click each button audio always starts from the begining?

Yeah, I realized that, was just posing a potential problem with that solution if anyone was still searching for this.
One thing I did try which seems to work well is making a few more advanced actions to each click box.  Let's say we have 3 clickboxes (click_box_1, 2, and 3), each shows an image and wants to play an audio file associated with that image.  Each clickbox will need to show it's own image and play the audio.  Each clicbox would also need to hide the other images/audio of the other clickboxes.  Our problem when the audio is attached to the image is that if you move away and activate another click box, the audio will always resume from where you left it when you return to the click box, the audio won't restart from the beginning.  Try this, has worked for me and curious to know if it works for anyone else.
To each click box, add the following advanced actions to your existing advanced actions:
click_box_1
Play Audio - select your audio file
Hide - click_box_1
Show - click_box_2
Show - click_box_3
click_box_2
Play Audio - select your audio file
Hide - click_box_2
Show - click_box_1
Show - click_box_3
click_box_3
Play Audio - select your audio file
Hide - click_box_3
Show - click_box_1
Show - click_box_2
I would have thought that hiding the clickbox you just clicked wouldn't play the audio, but that's not the case, it continues to play.  When you click the other boxes, it stops the current audio, for instance, from click_box_1, and starts audio from whichever click box you just selected.  If I go back to a click box that I previously started and left before audio finished, it restarts it from the beginning.  By the way, this was done using Captivate 7.

  • Text Message Audio Attachment

    Hi all,
My friend recently sent me a text message with an audio attachment that she recorded on her phone (not an iPhone). My iPhone plays it fine, it just comes up as a Quicktime movie/file with no other options besides playing and pausing. Is there any way I can get this file onto my computer? I've poked around using Google, but I haven't found anything yet that seems helpful.
    Thanks!

Thought I'd bump this thread as I was about to ask the exact same thing. Thanks...

  • How to open a pdf file and then attach it with images

I am new to Indesign Server.
I'm currently working on a pdf.
I have a white blank pdf template.
that I want to attach/glue it with images.
How to open a pdf file and then attach it with images.
    Please, help me.
    Thanks.

First step would be to make yourself familiar with InDesign desktop version.
Whatever you intend to achieve, do it there manually. (see regular app docs or forums)
Then try to automate your steps with scripting (see scripting docs or forum)
If you can do it with a script in the desktop version, that script will likely also run in ID Server. (see server forum).
If you can specify missing features not achievable thru scripting or manual use, reconsider to write a plugin (this forum).
A seasoned C++ programmer will need a few months to learn the basics, wade thru tons of documentation etc. Alternatively consider to hire a consultant to do the development work for you.

  • Audio attachment will not open and play on Ipad4 but works fine on PC. Any suggestions?

I have been sent an audio attachment in an email to a Hotmail account. It opens and plays fine on my PC but will not open on my Ipad. I get a pop up wanting to forward the attachment from my Comcast email account but neither will open and play it. Any suggestions?

I kept looking and found this answer in an Ipad forum from IpadJunkie. "Try the OPlayerHD lite app...free. When pressing and holding the WMA attachment select open with OPlayer and it works fine."

How do I play audio books in my car using USB cord?
Does the sound system on your car have a usb input? If so connect your iPhone to the radio with your cable and play the audio book on your phone. Note that your vehicle needs to be able to accept audio input through thr USB port and not just provide a charging circuit. Check your vehicle's manual if you are not sure.

  • Adobe has a Terry White TV program that covers attaching a copyright image to a photograph. Can you please tell me how this is done or the name of Terry Whit's program?

Adobe has a Terry White TV program that covers attaching a copyright image to a photograph. I have not been able to find this topic in the Adobe Photoshop CS6, Classroom in a Book. Can you help me with a reference on how this is done or possibly name the name of Terry Whit's program?
    Thank You

    >> then I get a completely blue screen.
That probably means that you're not looking at a bug in Photoshop, but a problem with a driver - and the most likely cause would be your video card driver.
And sure enough, your video card driver is almost 2 years out of date.
Please go to NVidia's website and get the latest driver - then follow their directions for installation (so you don't get bits of old driver left over).

  • I have five buttons with audio attached to each button. When I publish in html5 and test the buttons the audio cuts out at random times. Any suggestions. I have the latest version of Adobe Captivate 7

Can someone please help me with this problem I cannot see how simply attaching audio to a button can be so problematic. I have no idea how to fix this.

I am using CP8 and have found similar issues. When using the responsive project, my slides with multiple buttons have audio attached via advanced actions that will cut out if a user attempts to click another button before the first has finished playing. When the user listens to the entire audio file attached to the button, there are no issues with audio btw. I have tried attaching it to the button, but it plays when the button appears rather than on success. Furthermore, setting it to play audio on success is a problem because there are multiple actions that must be completed for each button. I have also found that setting audio any other way besides through advanced actions can create an audio overlap of more than one audio file. I haven't been able to find a way to time the advanced action or slide so that the user cannot click through the buttons without hearing all of the audio first.
Any ideas on how to get around this problem would be fantastic if it doesn't require an entire rewrite. If I wasn't already 86% through the course development, I would use buttons to initiate branching scenarios which would fix a lot of my issues, but don't want to start over at this point.

  • It's about attaching scaled down image

    hi...
i'm attaching an image that has been scaled down from 3040 x 2016 to 1200 x 796 (using photoshop) to a jpanel via drawImage...
it works fine, but then a message occur on the console when the program terminated :
'Corrupt JPEG data: 3304 extraneous bytes before marker 0xed'
i've tested attaching the real image (3040 x 2016)... there's no problem, but it's way too big,
    slowing down the program initialization...
so is it a problem attaching a scaled down image ?
    thanx !

Does the image open properly in photoshop? What type of image is it?

  • Manual Transition When Audio Attached?

    Hi all,
hope someone can help me out.
Is there a reason I can't use 'Manual Transition' with a slide slow that has audio attached? It only seems to offer 'Fit to Audio' or 5, 10 secs etc as options.
    Cheers....Scotty

Sorry to pop in, the youtube video you mention there was based on my post about micronavigation, and what you do here is mixing up things totally. You should add the code that you use for the Replay button as well, because if for the On Enter action of the slide you are capturing the slide number instead of the number of the first frame of that slide, you also have to change the Replay button code. Please post the code you are using there.
And moreover I find it much easier just to assign this advanced action to a Replay button, there is no real need for a user variable or an On Enter Slide event.

  • Keeping Audio attached

I have been having trouble lately keeping the audio attached to video when I put it through Shake. I've been using Shake to crop video from 16:9 to 2.35:1, and when I render a file out node its missing all sound.
I can't find anything in the manual specifically addressing problems with sound.
Any ideas? What can I do to the render parameters to keep the sound intact?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

How have you added the audio to your slide -- attached to Object/Slide/Background?
Can tell how many slides do you have and what is the duration of audio VS Slide duration?
    Thanks,

  • Close captioning Captivate 8 for audio attached to image. This audio is outside the main timeline audio

I have a slide with some introductory audio that prompts users to explore the images on the screen. Each image is a button that plays an audio clip when pressed. The audio clips that play when clicked are narratives. These need to be closed captioned, but are outside the "timeline" therefore they don't show in the "edit" window of the audio to be captioned from slide notes.
How do I close caption both the slide audio and the clips that are attached to the button?  I am required to make this training accessible by including closed captioning  (not just rollover text) of ALL audio on a slide. This is for full compliance for hearing impaired learners.
    Thanks!

It's not possible. Really the only thing you can do is to jump around the timeline depending on what the user clicks on.
You have to figure out which frames to jump to and use advanced actions.
You could also jump to separate slides, but that may interfere with navigation if you are using the playbar.

  • Is it possible to add audio files without an image placeholder?

Every time I drag audio onto my webpage, I get the audio controls (play, volume control, the play bar, etc) but I also get an image place holder. Is it possible to just get the audio controls and not have an image placeholder?

You can also upload the file to your server and use the embed code to get rid of the image placeholder.....

This still won't be of much use to PC users with Internet Explorer so its better to use a flash player....

  • [nForce] no audio on disk or image when burning a dvd movie

i've recently bought a K7N2 Delta I lsr and since i've had this i have never been able to burn a dvd movie no matter what i try. I've started from scratch trying with just the AC-97 audio drivers installed and downloaded the latest nforce audio drivers from nvida website, nomatter what i do i cant get a movie on disk correctly. When i build an image on my harddrive, i play it and theres no audio and when i build a dvd disk either the audio wont play or the entire disk wont play. my dvd player either says disk cannot be played or the disk is dirty. But when i import the image or disk into dvd shrink the film plays fine with audio. I'm at a total loss. i dont think that my processor has anything to do with it but i have an AMD Athlon 3200+ and 512meg 3200 Geil ram. If anybody has any ideas or better still a solution i would greatly appreciate a reply.. Thankx for your reply in advance...

    Hello SON!
Recently bought, you say. Does that mean you have installed all mobo drivers, repair installed Windows, etc?
Have you tried the disks in another system?
Do you use the same software for playing and recording?
I don't think this is it, I think it is a software/driver problem, but two quick ones:
Untic in Device Manager for the optical device "Recognise insertion", as that can ruin a burn.
Remove the audio cable if you got one between the optical device and the sound card.
