RFC Adapter Configuration

Hello,
I am using the Adapter Engine, but i don´t see an option to configure the RFC Adapter, but in the documentation say this. I can´t understand.
"You can also use the Adapter Engine configuration screen to configure the Java part of the RFC adapter. For more information, see the Configuration Guide - SAP Exchange Infrastructure 2.0."

The thing is that i installed another adapter engine in my local pc conecting with the Integration server, and in this adapter engine i can´t see the rfc adapter. Also i can´t install the rfc adapter because there is not a install_rfc_Adapter installation script.
Do you know how to install the java part of the adapter engine, in a new Adapter engine installation?

    What verison of XI are you using?  In 2.0 the configuration file ("rfc_adapter.properties") is in the tech_adapter/configuration directory on the IS; in 3.0, the program ID (for client systems) is part of the communication channel configuration in the Integration Directory.  HTH; if not, please reply to this post with a more detailed question.

  • Sender RFC adapter - Tight coupling to an SAP client

    Hi ,
    We are using a sender RFC adapter to receive a RFC request from SAP , process the request in XI and then send back a response to SAP.
    Our requirement is that , this request may come from different SAP clients(client 100, 130 , 200 etc). Looks like RFC adapter configured under a Business System in XI cannot listen to calls from multiple clients and works for only one client. We get dumps in SAP when invoking this RFC from other clients.
    Also i hear that the same program id cannot be used in two different RFC sender adapters, meaning i have to create a different RFC destination , create a different program id for each client in SAP.
    Is there a way around for this issue ?

    Hi Saravana,
    you may try a little workaround:
    configure your rfc adapter only with client 100
    and try invoking RFC from clients: 130 , 200
    on the client 100 first (with a dummy RFC on client 100)
    and then from this dummy RFC on client 100 you can start your standard RFC with your rfc adapter
    don't know any other way:)

  • Error in pushing a request to R3 System using RFC Adapter

    I am trying to send a request to R3 system using an RFC Adapter as my end point and pointing to
    the Application server of the  R3 box.
    In the Transaction SM58 I see and error saying "<i><b>Exception in handleRequest of server Xmb2RfcService: java.lang.Exception:</b></i>"
    Here are the corresponding details:
    Caller: CENTRALADMIN
    Function Module: SRFC_ADAPTER_SERVICE
    Target System: AI_RFCADAPTER_JCOSERVER
    Host: .... (The XI Server)
    Program: SAPMSSY1
    Clnt: 100
    As per the SRFC_ADAPTER_SERVICE function module, the <i><b>purpose stated so...
    "This function is the glue between the JCo RFC Inbound Adapter and the XMS Pipeline."</b></i>
    By the by the RFC adapter is started and I can see no activity in the log after startup.

  • RFC Adapter Debug

    I would like to trigger a debug in the backend R/3 system for an RFC coming in through the RFC adapter in XI 2.0.  Does anyone know how this is done.  I suspect that it should be an option in the RFC Adapter configuration similar to RfcAdapter.trace, but I cannot seem to find one.

    I also wanted to debug the RFC coming from BW system to XI. We raised an oss note to SAP , and they said that its not a background job , but it is a module pool . So I am also stuck over here.
    The only debug option is RFC trace Log file , where in the end it gives a message , what went wrong .

    The RFC Adapter configuration has been done successfully and the adapter starts up successfully.
    In our scenario, we attempt to receive an xml message from my local machine through a file adapter, and pass this along to the RFC Outbound adapter to execute a RFC on the CRM box. 
    The following error message is encountered in the XI monitoring tool.

    Hi,
    check out these:
    1) SM59 - test connection
    2) look all the parameters of Receiver RFC adapter configuration
        Proper authentication details etc
    3) Save the RFC adapter channel and activate the same
    4) Refresh the cache for the Adapter metadata. Go to Integration BuilderAdmin>Cache Overview-->Directory -->Adapter Metadata
    5) Probably the problem may be becuase of RFC Adapter is not active. Restarting the RFC adapter at J2EE admin level may solve your problem

    I have a doubt with the RFC adapter.
    Currently I have this interface for an RFC:
    R/3 system A -- XI system B -- R/3 system C
    In this interface in system A I call an RFC through XI system B to get data of system C. The XI system B is the SLD associated to system A. This interface works fine.
    Now the system B have another XI system, the system D. And I need change the XI system in this interface. What I need to do?
    It is only needed create the interface in system D with the same RFC adapter configuration, with the same vales of gateway, program ID, etc... Or do I need additional configuration? SLD in system D? config system A?
    I need to be sure of what I need because I need prepare documentation before to get access to the new XI system.

If there is a TCP SM59 connection with program ID, gateway host and service, and there is 2 XI systems, the RFC was sent to both systems? And then the system that have the same program ID in one interface configuration get it?
    Do it is possible send it to two XI systems? Because I need sent some RFC's through the first XI and another RFC's through the new connection. I don't have a lot of experience with XI configuration and SLD, please explain it steep by steep.
    Can I do it? Or one R/3 system only can send RFC to one XI system?

    I am not n abap developer but I was sure that in the RFC it self you need to specify which RFC destination that particular RFC should use.. and hence when you activate that RFC it will only use the correct SM59 destination

  • RFC Adapter error - http port configuration

    Hi everyone,
    on XI 3.0 I have some problems to invoke RFC functions located on a SAP SRM system.
    No logs are displayed on the XI Monitor: the message is stopped at the "adapter" level.
    It seems that RFC adapter tries to connect to a wrong URL (the Production system URL)and obviously it retrieves these messages:
    "Received XI System Error. ErrorCode: NO_RECEIVER_CASE_BE ErrorText: ErrorStack: No receiver could be determined "
    "Returning synchronous error notification to calling application: XIServer:NO_RECEIVER_CASE_BE:."
    "Transmitting the message using connection http://YYY.sap.xxxx:8066/sap/xi/engine?type=entry failed, due to: XIServer:NO_RECEIVER_CASE_BE:."
    In the SLD, the right port for Development system is 8064, the adapter is also  configured on business landscape YYY and port 8064. I checked both J2EE visual administrator and Business Landscape customizing without success.
    But at runtime the adapter framework point to another system on 8066 http port (and the interface call fails).
    My question is: where is this wrong URL configured and from where exactly does it take these wrong informations?

    There is a very good document on SAP that explains, step-by-step what you are trying to do.
    The name of the document is: 'Validating a Connection Between SAP R/3 and SAP XI with RFC'.
    Give a look on that. I used it to build the scenario here and it works fine.

  • Configuring receiver RFC adapter to use RFC destination

    Hello,
       I have been doing some digging, but I can't find a solid answer on how to configuring a receiver RFC adapter to use an existing RFC destination to call a 4/6C R/3 backend system...  Our scenario is to WS --> SOAP --> RFC which is up and running in production just fine on NW 7.0, SP12.
       I ask this question because we, as a company, do not like to maintain passwords in multiple systems.  That is necessary when we use the receiver RFC adapter now since SNC is a distant pipe dream for us and we would like to use an existing RFC destination that is set up to call the backend system using a logon ticket.
       I checked the relevant links I could find below, but I can not resolve the answer from them.  Has anyone set this up successfully?  This link (RFC Destination type RFC Receiver Adapter?) mentions it briefly, but it does not go into any length on how to set it up.

    I suggest you to create a new user, without dialog access in your ECC system to be used exclusively by the XI system to access ECC. And then, always use this user in all RFC receiver adapter communication channels.

    Can you ensure that Drivers are properly installed and no problem with them?
    Also proper connection parameters are maintained in the JDBC receiver Channel.

  • RFC adapter in XI 3.0 not working properly with BAPI in R/3 4.6C

    Here is the scenario.
    An XML file is received from our customer. This file contains purchase order information that is used to create a sales order in our SAP 4.6C system. Once the sales order is created an acknowledgement is generated and this is returned back to our customer in an XML format.  This scenario is working perfectly fine in our XI 2.0 system but is not working properly in our XI 3.0 test environment. Our custom function module in R/3 is a wrapper function that uses a standard SAP BAPI to create the sales order. Part of the function module does use the statement
    call function 'BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT'
    The last thing the BAPI does is call another function module that using an RFC destination that will return and order acknowledgement.
    Here is what happens within XI and our SAP system.
    The XML file is received and mapped to our imported RFC. The RFC adapter is called and the information is passed onto SAP where our customer function module executed. The sales order is created within SAP without any problems and the second function module is called which references an RFC destination assigned to our XI 3.0 system. The information is sent back to XI and an appropriate file is created for our customer.  All seems to be working properly except that when the original RFC is sent from XI to SAP,  SAP creates a short dump stating
    "call to messaging system failed: com.sap.aii.af.ra.ms.api.DeliveryException:" Then it is put back into the que where 5 minutes later it executes again and trys to recreate the sales order in SAP. (again, this same function module executing from XI 2.0 works fine)
    I believe I have everything configured properly because the SAP side is being executed and I am successfully passing information back from SAP to XI. However the original function module in SAP is failing with the above error message. It appears that the original function module cannot communicate back with XI. I have had SAP looking at this issue and they have not been successful yet in solving this problem.
    Any ideas.

    I think the problem is with the send back of acknowledgement to XI. Does the DeliveryException state something about the sender agreement? I guess you are using a statement like below:
    CALL FUNCTION 'ZABCD'
    destination <tcp/ip destination>
    exporting
    input = ack.
    In that case, check whether the TCP/IP destination is working fine. Also, to be able to exchange message, the structure of the Function Module ZABCD needs to be identified as the sender in XI Configuration (Integration Directory).

    I configure a RFC Receiver adapter to communicate with R/3. In my client application  (via Webdynpro) I send the message that use this communication, but I need to call the RFC using a dynamic user/password, that is, the user credentials that is logged. Is it possible? How I do it?

    I don't think so, it is possible to have dynamic user ID and password for the RFC adapter. As of now...
    Because you need to enter the user id and password while configuring adapter itself.
    But if you want , you can call different RFCs based on the Condition etc.

    any idea where is the exact problem '?

  • Sender JMS adapter configuration for IBM MQSeries

    Dear All,
    i am doing a IBM MQSeries 5.2.x Message ->sender JMS adapter -> XI server -> receiver RFC adapter -> R/3.
    i have deployed the JMS adapter with the required jar files of IBM MQSeries 5.2.x in XI server.
    in Sender JMS adapter configuration for IBM MQSeries 5.2.x, i have put following data:
    1. Transport Protocol: Websphere MQ - is it okay?
    in JMS provider settings:
    2. in channel name - what should be there?
    3. Transport Network protocol should be TCP/IP or WebsphereMQ - how to decide this thing.
    4. JMS Complaint - whether WebsphereMQ or JMS API.
    in JMS Settings:
    5. JMS Queue user - is this IBM MQSeries 5.2.x Queue User or someother user?
    6. JMS Message Selector - what data to take here.
    So if anybody has connected IBM MQSeries 5.2.x to XI via JMS adapter, please answer my above queries.

    one more question - to connect XI server to IBM MQSeries via JMS adapter in ID, do we need to have a MQSeries Client installed on XI server - or - just by configuring JMS adapter, we can send messages from IBM MQSeries to XI server without any MQSeries client on XI server?
    Why Channel name is required in JMS configuration data?
