RFC iview
Hi,
I have created an RFC iview but I have a fatal error :
" Could not connect to back-end application. Check your system. The server may be down or there may be an error in a system parameter"
thanks
Dodo
Hi,
I guess you should check your portal connectivity with the R/3 backend. Do this in the system administration where one has to create a system. Plz check if the system created has the correct Backend details and test the connections.
If successful only then continue with the creation of iviews.
Regards,
Akshay

Hi ,
I am new to create RFC iview,
So please let me know steps to create RFC iview and one Example.
regards
mmukeshIn its simplest steps:
1 Create an SAP system in the system landscape - don't use Conenction String as the type.
2 Give it an alias.
3 Set permissions so your administrators and endusers can access the system.
4 Use the RFC iView creation wizard and select the system alias and your RFC.
5 Make sure you do step 4 as a user who has RFC access to the SAP system.
6 Test it!
Please note that changing the RFC iView after creation is a little messy. You might be better off using the Visual Composer - it is much neater at displaying RFC table data than the RFC iView.

Create SAP RFC iView with a structure as import parameter
Hello All,
I'm creating a SAP RFC iView from Portal SAP 7.4.
I try call a RFC that have as import parameter a structure with various fields, but the portal recognizes the structure as string field, then I cannot fill the fields values, and when I do a preview the iview, the following error occurs:
Function execution failed. Exception message: class java.lang.String:null incompatible with class com.sapportals.connectors.SAPCFConnector.execution.structures.RecordWrapper:sap.com/[email protected]MultiParentClassLoader@80d4ed6@alive
And only is possible select a output object.
Exists any way of receive a structure or a table as import parameter?, and as output parameters more of a element?

Passing parameters to RFC iview
Hi
Can anyone let me know how to pass parameters to RFC iview ?
i want to pass the parameter through URL to the RFC iview (funtion_params_name1)
thanksHi Thanks for your reply. I have a RFC function module that accepts two input parameters, queries R3 database and returns table output. Need to create a Portal page for the end users out of those returned data. Your help is much appreciated!.
Hi
Well it is possible
try this....
Create a abap webdynpro application, here you can call the RFC function module as a supply function
get the data from the function module and display it on the webdynpro view
convert this webdynpro to a iview and attach this iview to the portal page.( this is just a few steps process)
thanks -
Hi all.
I want to create a RFC iView passing a few parameters, but I cannot input a fixed value; I want to call it using SY-DATUM, SY-UNAME and things like that...
Is it possible?? How??
Thanks in advance.Hello Carlos,
M not sure weather m rt or not but as far as ur RFC for R/3 is concerned you can create either SAP transaction Iview or SAP WebDynPro Iview Aftre creating system that connects ur Portal with R/3 Backend.

Hi,
I have created my first RFC Iview and was trying to preview it. But when i hit preview button i just get below message :
<b>com.sapportals.connectors.SAPCFConnector.execution.structures.RecordWrapper@86fcbc</b>
Before you ask i have tested system and its working fine.
Will appreciate if you can give some ideas.
Regards,
JeetHi Jignesh,
When you display the list of PRs in the first table, you have few options for navigating to SAP Screen like:
1. You can set an action to any one of the column by double clicking it.
2. Add a new column with a Button(Eg. Show Details) and set an action to it.
the action should be an customer action for opening an url and the url should be composed like this:
'/irj/servlet/prt/portal/prtroot/com.sap.portal.appintegrator.sap.bwc.Transaction?System=SAP_ECC&TCode=ME53&GuiType=WinGui&DynamicParameter=EBAN-BANFN%3D' & @<your PR No> '&AutoStart=true'
You can paste the above link in the formula editor and replace @<your PR No> with your PR number ( drag and drop from store or data ) and also 'SAP_ECC' with your system alias
Regards,
Trikanth -
Hello all,
We have a RFC that calls a SAP screen. Is there a way showing this screen from a RFC iView? Parameter I can set on the iView, connector, SAP system?
Other RFC'S work great, but this one contains a SAP popup.
Thanks!
Martinif there is a screen processing it will not work with RFC iview. (general rule of RFC is not to have screens in them)

cui zhaoHello Cui Zhao,
Have you create a reference system for RFC ? If not ,you should create a reference system first.
PS check this link for create reference system:

No WebDynpro iView Template found in content administrator menu (NW 7.1)
Dear Sir/Madam,
I tried to integrate a sample application in my local portal, but I did not found the webdynpro iview template to accomplish this in the content adminstrator menu.
I found the webdynpro iview template for webdynpro ABAP, but not the on for webdynpro java.
Is this a problem of my installation or are there some prerequisites which I miss?
Many thanks in advance for any input on this.
I am using Netweaver 7.1.
Wolfgang Rothmayer. Thanks for the quick answer.
My problem is, that I do have the New->iView Menu but then I miss the

What do I have to do to see any available system aliases in "Choose System Alias" listbox when I create a Web Service iView in Portal Content Studio:
Content administration -> Right click Portal Content folder -> New -> iView -> Choose iView Template -> Choose Web Service iView -> Enter required data -> Choose System Alias
Now it is empty although I have two configured systems (may be they are configured incompletely, but SAP RFC iView are created and working normally).
Regards.Hi,
To create a web service iview u need to have a System Object.
Create System Object
System Administration>System Configuration><u r folder context menu>-->system
Give the required entries and finish it change the propertie WSDL to ur url ( u can find it in http://http://<host>:<port>/QuickCarRentalService/Config1)
goto System Aliases and create a new alias.close the system object after saving it.
Creating the iview
Simple create an iview with the template Web Service iview and select the system alias and give other info if required and finish it.
Good Luck,

Formatting web form query fields to be passed to RFC query FM
We have a web front end used to query the SAP sales database. The fields can accept multiple or range selections. We have written a couple of FM (RFC enabled function modules) to retrieve the data based on the queries.
The question is, what is the best way to handle multiple selections in the FM interface. Currently we are using SELOPT structures to handle the select criteria.
On the web front end, is it simple and feasable to format the form fields in the SELOPT structure or is there a better way.
Below is the interface currently proposed for the FM:
FUNCTION ZE_GET_SALES_ORDERS.
""Local interface:
*" IMPORTING
*" REFERENCE(I_ORDER_STATUS) TYPE CHAR01 OPTIONAL
*" REFERENCE(I_INVOICE_AUTH_FLAG) TYPE CHAR01 OPTIONAL
*" TABLES
*" T_VALID_SOLDTO STRUCTURE SELOPT
*" T_SOLDTO STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_CUSTOMER_PO STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_SALES_ORDER STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_DATE_RANGE STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_STARS_QUOTE STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_BILLTO STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_SHIPTO STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_INVOICE_NUM STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" T_ORDER_HEADERLIST STRUCTURE ZORDERVIS_ORDERHEADER OPTIONAL
*" T_INVOICE_LIST STRUCTURE ZORDERVIS_INVOICE_LIST OPTIONAL
*" T_ORDER_HEADERLIST_SUMM STRUCTURE
*" ZORDERVIS_ORDERHEADER_SUMMARY OPTIONAL
*" T_SELECT_PARAMS STRUCTURE W3QUERY OPTIONAL
*" T_ORDER_CREATE STRUCTURE SELOPT OPTIONAL
*" EXCEPTIONS
*" VALIDATION_CUST_MISSING
Any advice or direction would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
JenniferBasically you can't! The RFC iView is in my opinion a bad way to get data out of SAP. It is difficult to edit and passing paramaters is a nightmare.
Any chance you can use Visual Composer instead, or maybe right a little portal component to do the same thing?
Ps: if you're using SSO< the username that is used to start the RFC is the same username in the backend system, so maybe you can use sy-uname?

BAPI not returning dataset thru iviews to EP from ECC
Hi All,
We have ERP 6.0 and we are trying to use BAPI to pull data from ECC to EP using SAP RFC-iviews.
We have configured the system object , we are getting the all the BAPI FM info from ECC during creating of new rfc-iview, but when we try to preview the iview by giving the input to the FM is not returning any data.
We have tested the same FM from SE37 and able to get the dataset.
Please suggest me if any configuration to be done.
Thanks,
Subhash.GProblem is solved, while giving input in iview we have to give exact details like for customer number it stores like 0000000001, if we give only 1 it's won't interpet as it was in Data dictionary... but while testing in sm37 you can give as 1 for customer number.
Thanks,

Hi All,
My requirement is to Display a Custom Report in Portal. This Report is developed in Abap. Since I am new to this portal thing I can think of only 1 idea to display these reports in Portal by creating transactional iViews . But In HTML transactional iViews I noticed that everytime I scroll through the Report the page is getting refreshed. I am worried about the performance of the portal since I have to display around 5-10 HR Reports in Portal. Also I am not able to hide the System Details that appear at the bottom of the SAP Screen.
Please help me out how can I hide those details. Also I need to provide Print Option for these reports. How can I acheive that ?
Is there any other way I can Display these reports in Portal. Please Help !!
Regards,
Akhil Raihi rai,

This has probably been asked and answered, but I couldn't find the answer when searching the newsgroups. On most of my database tables, there is a date column to store the date when a row was added (it is never changed after insert). Without Kodo JDO
