RFC/Report from ITS

ITS is a black box to me.
I have a requirement of calling a RFC/ABAP Report from a button placed in an Internet service.
I need to display the data from an RFC/Report in a popup window when a button is clicked. Button is placed in a standard Internet service.
This is an SRM requirement. SRM server is 5.5.
(Note: The standard service is editable)
Kindly suggest.

yes, but not all RFCs. your RFC has to have the same signature as WWW_GET_SELSCREEN (import,export,tables,etc paramters)

I/O Error in saving report from ITS as a Spreadsheet

Hi Friends,
Our user's are accessing the R/3 Server via ITS server through portal.
We are getting issue in report query, if we try to save the report results as a spreadsheet we are getting java I/O Error in the screen and unable to save the report.
It is very difficult for us to solve this issue, Please help.

What ITS are you using? What is your BASIS and Kernel versions?
The download and upload functionality of the SAPgui for HTML (WEBGUI)
requires a Java Virtual Machine (JVM). Check of you have a supported JVM installed at the front end browser computer. Use the following link to check your version:

Sending a PDF document with email from ITS.

Hi all,
I'm working on the following scenario:
I've a sapscript form which is being converted to PDF and then being dispatched to logged in user's email id. All this is happening in a report.
Now, when I call this report from ITS, the email with PDF is not sent.
I'm using following chain to do this task.
1. Call a RFC function (FM1) module from ITS.
2. Call another function module (FM2) from this function module starting a new task.
3. From this second function module, I submit my aforesaid report with this code.
SUBMIT ZV_SCRP_DOWN_PDF
WITH s_vbeln   = contract
WITH p_parvw   = p_parvw
with user      = user
and return.
4. Commit work in first function module(FM1).
The problem is that this chain does not run when I call it from my ITS application whereas the same chain runs smoothly from sap, i.e I call the first function module and the email with pdf is sent to my email id. What am I missing here. Pl. help.

Call Component from Z-Report in ITS

Hello Folks,
I have an Issue with the ITS.
We have a Z-Report called from ITS. It works fine except one thing. The Report show some campaigns in an ALV and if you double-click on one entry it calls Transaction: CRM_MKTPL. But this Transaction is not supported anymore in CRM 7.0. So I have to navigate to the WebUI Component.
But how do I do this? I want it in the same Window. Any Ideas?

For calling a SAP transaction in ITS, the basic form of url is:

Pl. replace the values with whatever is relevant to you.
Following code is an example. This is opening the called transaction in a new window.

Can we call report from rfc.

i know the process to call rfc from report and from rfc.
but i dont know how to call report from rfc FM.

you call report from rfc.
but you have to write the logic for that..
ex: 1st of all you have to create the fm in target system
then you have to call that fm using that rfc
and then you can call the report form the target system.

Printing from ITS report

Hello,
When the users are printing reports from the ITS it prints only the first page.
Is there a way to print all the report?
We dont have a portal.

Have a look at note 351230 - it describes an option for sending the print output via the ITS to the browser as a PDF, which can then be printed with the standard Adobe Reader functions. It looks pretty much identical to the report as seen on the screen.
You basically set up a new printer (e.g. LPDF) in the backend system and the users select that to generate the PDF. You do need the Webgui toolbars enabled so users can do the printing via SAP rather than the web browser. If you want a simpler version of the toolbars, have a look at note 1010519.

Get the sales order text from ITS and save it in SAP.

Hi,
I have created an application to create sales order from ITS. In this app i'm having a text field to fet the header text for the order. & after that I'm calling an RFC which has a BAPI to create the sales order.
Now, when i enter the text for header texts in frontend (separated by ENTER), then it saves only the first line of the text.
I've tried using :
SPLIT ordernotes AT cl_abap_char_utilities=>cr_lf INTO TABLE t_ordnotes.
and using FM: CREATE_TEXT,
but still, it is saving only the first line.
Can anyone please help me with this ?????

Error publishing reports from BW

Hi,
I am facing some issues while publishing reports from BW system. I have taken care of all the settings mentioned in Integration Kit guide. We are using BOXI 3.1 SP3 OS:windows 2008 (64-bit)
The error that we are getting is:
"0000000001 An error occurred when retrieving the role metadata for YBW_BO_CONTENT_PUBLISHER. Returned with RFC code 18 and message: See RFC trace file or SAP system log for more details"
I have enabled the trace also, still not able to find the root cause.
Need help urgently. Thanks.

I have matched the auth. as per the admin guide, everything is fine with the role. I have checked the trace file logs, part of which is below:

I haven't really done much enhancements on MAM 2.5, but Im sure sami will let you know where to add the code, or you can review the MAM enhancement guide on the CD.
In regards to printing the PIOS API is pretty simple. If you are using a laptop to print to a normal printer then you can just use the Win32 Drivers..(installed via driver addon from web sap console.)If you are using the handheld you will need to find the appropriate drivers.

This should give you an idea, you should also read through the MDK documentation for the printer API (PIOS). Its quite easy to pick up and as long as you have the driver and connector installed it prints right away.(You could also use the Peripheral emulator in
NWDS to test the code first)

I am not sure about it. But i remember once running into a similar issue where i made some changes in the metadata or outline and few members were dropped from the hierarchy and it came up with this error at the time of running
the report as my report was still trying to query the dropped members. But u said you have already checked and all your members are valid on the report. Is this happening with all the reports or just one. If its all the reports i would
restart the BI+ reporting services and then try to run the reports!

Microsoft excel error while exporting a FRS report from Planning to excel

I have multiple screen shots of the issue.
are getting issues when within citrix trying to run an FRS report from workspace into excel.
first they get a windows login window looking for credentials of a User name and a Password.
the first error:
"Could not open 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'.
second error:
Microsoft Excel cannot access the file 'http:SERVERNAME:19000/hr/hrget/modules/com/hyperion/reporting/web/office/HROfficeReport.jsp/FOLDERNAMEandFILENAME.xls?format=excel.20028viewAs=excel&instanceId=11165278&previewDone=true'. There are several possible reasons:
The file name or path does not exist.
The file is being used by another person
The workbook you are trying to save has the same name as a currently open workbook.
Third error:
The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file do you want to open the file now?

I am trying to figure out if its a CITRIX issue? An EPM issue? or what
We have Office 2010 32 bit with smart view and excel add-in.

When you export a FR report to excel, yes, you will get a prompt for credentials, but as said in 11.1.2 HFR guide, you have to ignore that by clicking "Cancel" and then you will get a second warning pop-up saying "The file you are trying to open, 'FILENAME.xls', is in a different format ........"... Click on "Yes"... you should be able to see the report in excel....
Both these are known issues in HFR export to excel and you can find them in oracle features guide. And they are not related to Citrix.
As in Oracle HFR user guide "When exporting a Financial Reporting document to a Microsoft Office format (Excel, Word or PowerPoint), when using Microsoft Office 2007, you may receive the following warning: "The file your are trying to open <filename>, is in a different format than specified by the file extension. Verify that the file is not corrupted and is from a trusted source before opening the file. Do you want to open the file now?". This warning notifies users that, although the file has an Office extension ( ".xls", ".doc" or ".ppt"), the content of the file is different from the expected (native) Office format. Although Financial Reporting reports are generated in an MHTML format during export, this is not a security concern. Microsoft Office is just warning a user of a file format that is different than expected. Upon selecting “Yes” in the warning, the file will successfully open in Microsoft Office."

Error running reports from Crystal Server XI R2 with datasets

I have a problem. I'm programming with Visual Basic .NET 2008.
I'm using Crystal Reports Server and programming under Visual Basic to take reports from crystal Server, changing the tables from the report to datasets and scheduling this report.
Crystal server change connections to CrystalReports.Dataset.
Preview reports from server sends me an error "DataBase connector unknown"
If I run this report (with datasets) into my VBNET application (into a CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer control), IT WORKS!!!
I need help because I need to schedule these reports (to send them by email, export to PDF formats, ...)

Reporting off of a dataset is reporting off of a disconnected datasource. The reason your application works is beacuse you most likely populating a dataset in your application and passing it to the report at the same time. When scheduling, there is no interaction with the report so unless the report is using an xml file on disk as its datasource, how can it retrieve data?
To get around this, you can build a dll (.net data provider) that returns either a dataset or datatable and point your report to this dll. this way, when the report is executed, it loads the dll which fetches the data for you.
- so the first step is to compile a dll that returns a dataset or datatable.
- to design your report off of this dll open the database expert and create a new ADO.NET connection.
- in the File Path area, click the ellipsis ("...") button to browse to your dll and make sure the selected File Type is ".Net DataSet Provider".
- once the dll is selected, you can choose the dataset/table returned by the dll.
If your method in the dll is parameterized, it will add a parameter to the report (similar to stored procedure parameters.
note: the location of your dll must be in the same path on the CR Server as it was when you designed your report in order for it to be loaded correctly. I usually put the dll in a folder that I know will exist on both machines.
