Hello
everyone
I created a web service, based on RFC to perform the steps are:
In transaction SE37 to create a RFC
Create a Web Service
I activated the Web Serivice in the transaction SICF
when I go to http://xxxxx:xxxx/wsnavigator
I put the URL of the Web Service,
shows:

  • Excel ( VB ) to ABAP RFC WEB SERVICE Call - No Errors - Blank Output Table

    Trying to get Excel talk to ABAP RFC Web Service.
    -  Excel - 2007 ( Since it is Excel 2007, I didn't had to add any Office Web Services Toolkit or any add on )
    -  ECC 6.0
    Excel (VB) not throwing any error, but is not giving any output ( expecting a table output ).
    ABAP RFC WebService with Uid Pwd Authentication.
    Activated binding for ABAP RFC via SOAMANAGER for clnt 600.
    Using WSDL of WS of Clnt 600 in Excel via VB
    Basic ABAP RFC -
    1 optional import param ( Input Param )
    1 table output  ( Tables Param )
    Basic VB Call Code  -
    Call projHoursWS.wsm_YProjHours("", arProjHours)
    To test if VB and WebService are talking to each other, when i temperorarily change the Authentication method ( uid/pwd ) of Webservice in Sicf it throws "NO MATCHING AUTH" .. So VB and ABAP WS are talking to each other.
    Debugged VB in Excel, not throwing any error , but is always returning the output table (arProjHours) Empty.
    Missing anything?

    Hi,
    Try turning on the ICF Recorder in TCode SICF (check SAP Help for usage details) to establish that the request is reaching SAP successfuly.
    You'll also be able to catch the response that's being generated by SAP this way. Then turn off the ICF recorder.

  • C# Calling SAP RFC/Web Service Failure

    Hi SAP Experts,
    I am facing this problem. When an external system is calling my SAP RFC/Web Service, the external system(which is not SAP) is not getting the correct value. But when I test the RFC in SAP GUI It is working correctly. When I test between SAP server A & SAP Server B it is working correctly which is the recepient server is getting the correct value. What might cause this problem ? Urget help is needed here. Thanks.

    Hi Hadi,
    U need to expose a custom RFC as a Web Service. This is a simple web service that returns Customer Data (from kna1) based on the Customer ID which we provide as input.
    In the RFC, U have to declare an internal table (G_RET) in the tables section of the RFC.
    Now, U have to test the web service, U can see a check box with NULL option beside the G_RET.
    cheers,
    Hema.

  • Example using an SAP RFC (web service)

    Is there a good example out there for using an SAP RFC (web service) with Xcelsius 2008?  I cannot seem to get it to work.  I am trying to use the SAP sample RFC called BAPI_FLIGHT_GETLIST.  If someone can get an example to work using this BAPI, I would love to see it.

  • Session enabled RFC Web Service Fails & WSDL has enablesession=false

    Please help  Thanks in Advance
    A stateful Webservice with 2 RFCs, consumed by a .NET application fails and the cause seems to be because of statelessness.
    The call to 1st RFC succeeds and the call to the 2nd RFC fails with the below error message:
    An exception with the type CX_SY_REF_IS_INITIAL occurred, but was neither handled locally,
    nor declared in a RAISING clause.Dereferencing of the NULL reference"
    Question:
    1- Even though the "Session-Oriented Communication" is checked, the WSDL has EnableSession as false. Is there any special step to make it true?
    2- Even though the SOA Manager says that the Session is enabled and SessionMode is Http Cookie, the HTTPFiddler doesn't show any cookie in the .NET side.
    3- Are Web Service enabled HRXSS RFCs capable of performing Session Oriented Communication?
    Eg. Can the RFCs HrxssPerInitPernr and HrxssPerReadP0002Us be called in a sequence?
    service ws = new service();
                ws.Credentials = new System.Net.NetworkCredential("abcd", "abcd");
                System.Net.CookieContainer cookie1 = new System.Net.CookieContainer();
                ws.CookieContainer = cookie1;
                //BELOW CALL SUCCEEDS
               HrxssPerInitPernrResponse response = ws.HrxssPerInitPernr(new HrxssPerInitPernr()
    { Infty = "0002", Pernr = "52222068", Userdate="2009-01-01" });
                HrxssPerReadP0002Us read = new HrxssPerReadP0002Us() { Infty = "0002"  };
              // BELOW CALL FAILS
                HrxssPerReadP0002UsResponse readResponse = ws. HrxssPerReadP0002Us (read);

    to get this working you need to enable some services in transaction SICF
    to know a complete list of all services to be enabled check oss note number 517484
    particularly these nodes should be active
    /default_host/sap/bc/soap/wsdl and
    /default_host/sap/bc/soap/wsdl11
    (to get the error thrown by the server instead of page cannot be found, in your browser go to tools->internet options->advanced and uncheck the check box "show friendly error messages" and run the wsdl button again)

  • Populating a dropdown list box from from a RFC/web service call

    Hello All,
      So far all the samples that I have on dropdown listboxes pulls their values from the Simple Type Enumeration table. Howvever, If i will like to populate the dropdown listbox with returned values from an imported model, does anyone have any documentation on how this may be achieved ? Thank you.
    from
    Kwok Wei

    Hi
    If u want to populate the Values in DropDown from RFC call u can use the following code
    IWDAttributeInfo  ainfo = wdContext.node<<NodeName>>().getNodeInfo().getAttribute("<<Value Attrib that is bounfd to the Drop Down>>");
         ISimpleTypeModifiable st = aiinfo.getModifiableSimpleType();
         IModifiableSimpleValueSet vs = st.getSVServices().getModifiableSimpleValueSet();
         for(int i=0;i<wdContext.node<<Ur Table Parameter Name>>().size();i++)
              vs.put(Key,Value}
    The Above code is for Drop Down by Key
    For Drop Down By Index
    for(int i=0;i<wdContext.node<<Table Paramter>>().size();i++)
              IPrivateFinancingPlanView.I<<NodeElement>> prodElement = wdContext.create<<Node Element>>();
              prodElement.set<<Value Attribute Bound to drop Down>>(wdContext.node<<Table Paramter>>().get<<Table Paramter>>(i).getDescription());
              <<Parent Node Element>>.node<<Child Node>>().addElement(<<Child Node Element>>);

  • Web Service Commit (BAPI inside out)

    Hi all,
    I want to use update BAPI through web service which made by Web Service Wizard.
    I know we usually have to use BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT to commit.
    Can I call single web service with commit?
    I found optional configrations in Service Definision (TR- SE80).
    "Configration" Tab=>"Operation Profile".
    commit hundling
    tranaction hudling
    It seems we can commit without BAPI_TRANSACTION_COMMIT.
    I tried several options but it didn't work.
    And I could find any document in help.sap.com and SDN like
    http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw70ehp1/helpdata/en/9b/dad1ae3908ee44a5caf57e10918be9/frameset.htm
    Requirement
    1) We want to use BAPI without rapping.
    2) We want to use Web Service Wizard for BAPI/RFC web service generation.
    Environment
    ERP6.0 NW7.0(SP18)
    Regards,
    Teru

    Teru,
    When the web service is made for the BAPI to update, through the wizard,
    1) the endpoint should be selected as BAPI after giving the service name and short text
    2) Next scree, choose the application and the BAPI you need for update
    3) On the next screen, you have the option to add BAPI commit function to the existing list of methods. There is a pushbutoon which appears at the bottom of the table - BAPI Commit/Rollback
    So, the we service will have the BAPI commit included along with the update BAPI. So you need to invoke only one webservice from your end.
    Hope this helps!!

  • Table display from RFC web servcice

    Hi,
    I am calling a RFC web service from my WD for Java app.I am able to get the export param in one of the UI elements.But I am not able to display the TABLES parameter in the WD table.
    I have tested the web service from the WS explorer and it works fine.
    Can anybody help?
    thanx,
    Bhupesh

    Hi Bhupesh ,
    -o Go through the trace files or the log files of the Server,and check if there were no Exceptions raised.
    -o Or there any data type mismatches between your WDtable and your Webservice table.
    Let us know if you could solve the problem. Thanks.

  • Web Service in 6.20 - SICF/Logon Information

    Hello all.  Hopefully I am putting this question into the correct area.
    We are currently running on a WAS 6.20/SAP 4.7 environment.  I have created an RFC and found the WSDL for this module.
    In a 6.40 environment, I was able to generate the Proxy and call the Web Service successfully.  I did get a prompt to login to the 6.20 system.
    We need to be able to secure this web service because it is going to contain HR Data such as SSN#s and Credit Card Numbers.  What is the best way to call this web service to avoid having to manually enter the user id and password?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Raja,
    Thanks for the response.  Our requirements for this have changed since I have posted my message.
    Originally they were going to try and use a 6.40 ABAP system for this call.  Now they are going to develop this application in a non-SAP java environment.  So now I think it gets a little more difficult.  I have looked at the links you sent me and found some additional information so here are some follow up questions.
    1.  I have looked at using X.509 certificates.  Is it possible to have a certificate that is assigned to just this particular RFC that is going to be called as a Web Service?  I don't want to assign it to the entire 6.20 environment due to the nature of the data?
    2.  The RFC Web Service is going to be called in a background process.  So there will not be a user manually running this.  Is there anything I need to consider for this?
    Thanks in advance for any help that can be provided.
    Chris

  • Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC) - Web Service using ABAP Proxy

    Hi there
    I am trying to consume a Web Service using ABAP Proxies.  I have done the following in the system:
    I configured the HTTP and HTTPS Proxy settings.
    I created a package with package interfaces SAI_TOOLS and SAPPINT included under the Use Access tab.
    I created the proxy classes by using the WSDL provided by the system I'm trying to interface with.
    I created my HTTP destination RFC via SM59.
    I configured a logical port for the proxy.
    I developed the ABAP code for calling the proxy.
    In the code the exception CX_AI_SYSTEM_FAULT gets raised with error message <b>"Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)"</b> when I call the method for passing data to the destination system in the proxy class.
    I had a look at SM21 and the following message was written in the log:
    <b>"SOAP Runtime: SOAP Runtime exception: 111 occurred in method XP_READ_TAG of class CL_SOAP_XP at position 1
    SOAP Runtime: Exception message: Unallowed RFC-XML Tag (SOAP_EINVALDOC)"</b>.  I also looked at SAP Note 919886 which states that it can be dumps in the system, missing configuration or the path prefix of the RFC destination that is incorrect.  I cannot find any ST22 entries.  The trace file looks as follows:

  • Web Service from RFC function module

    Hi all,
    I'm searching for a way to create web services from RFC-enabled function modules. I know there is a wizard, but it's not suitable for my problem:
    I have around 30 function modules (number raising in near future) I want to enable for web services, most of them share the same structures representing the underlying data model. When one structure is modified (i.e. a new sub-structure is added) I have to recreate all web services, which is quite uncomfortable.
    In addition, using the wizard results in one wsdl-file for each web service operation, that leads to an administration overhead using this web services from a java frontend.
    So I'm searching for a "bulk creation". I also know the wizard can be used for a function group, but I can't put all my RFC-enabled function module in one function group, that would lead to confusion in the package.
    Does anyone know how web services are created programmaticaly? If I had a function module which creates the web services I could write a function module which creates all web services I need.
    Thank you in anticipation!
    Florian

    I'm not sure I understand the 're-create' part...how are you re-creating the web service?  if you modify the interface of a function-based web service, then you use the 'modify operations' functionality (context menu - right-click) to regenerate the web service interface; this works for a function group based web service as well and hits all of the methods at once.  As for the java overhead on function group services, stating the obvious, maybe you just need to lower the number of functions in your groups.  We use .Net-developed applications with multi-function webservices and don't have any overhead issues.

  • Generate XML file from RFC using Web Services

    Hi,
      I am trying to save an RFC enabled Function Module output to an XML file using ABAP web services.
    I could able to create Web Service and release it using WSCONFIG/WSADMIN. I can actually get the output in XML file when i launch the web service home page. But I need this to be done in the ABAP program itself. So If i run the RFC I could able to create,release web service and capture the Generated XML file by SOAP runtime.
    Any FM available?
    Thanks,
    Ram Sanjeev

    which version of WAS you are on .
    if you are on WAS6.40 check the following weblog on how to consume webservice using the wsdl file.
    /people/thomas.jung3/blog/2004/11/17/bsp-a-developers-journal-part-xiv--consuming-webservices-with-abap
    lower version of WAS use class cl_http_client.
    if this case you have to manually build the soap message.

  • Error during creation of web service from abap rfc

    Hi,
    I'm creating a web service from abap rfc (SE37), but at the end  of Creation Wizard I have this error:
    "web service object already exist".
    This is my first web service creation. Into WSADMIN there are not web services with the same name.
    How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks!

    Hi,
    What system/release/SP do you use ?
    Beginning with Netweaver 7.0 SP14, you configure Web services with SOAMANAGER and you don't see them with WSADMIN...

  • Exposing an RFC enabled function as a Web Service in Minisap

    Hi all,
    i'm trying to expose an RFC enabled function as a Web Service in my Minisap installation. Everything works fine, until i actually want to finish the Web Service wizard. It always quotes that the object can only be deployed in an sap paket. If i try to put it in the $TMP paket, by marking it as a local object, i always get the message that test objects can not be deployed in external pakets.
    Any idea?
    Furthermore the virtual interface with the name i selected in the Web Service wizard seems to exist, at least i can not try to deploy the Web Service again with the same name. Actually, i also can't find a place where i can delete the virtual interface. Any hint on that issue is also appreciated.
    Thanks in advance!
    /Marc

    I wanted to write a web service adapter:
    @WebService
    public class MyWebService implements StreamSender {
         private StreamSender eventSender;
         @WebMethod
         public void echo(String msg) {
              eventSender.sendInsertEvent(new MyEvent(msg));
    After deploying I've got NullPointerException, eventSender is null. This is because MyWebService instance is NOT on the spring context, since it was created by jetty via reflection.
    So now I'm trying another approach. I want to inject an adapter from the spring context into the web service:
    I wanted to write a web service adapter:
    @WebService
    public class MyWebService {
         private MyWSAdapter myAdapter;
         @Resource
         private WebServiceContext context;
         @WebMethod
         public void echo(String msg) {
              myAdapter = getMyAdapterFromSpringContext();
              myAdapter.sendInsertEvent(new MyEvent(msg));
         public MyWSAdapter getMyAdapterFromSpringContext() {
              ServletContext sc = (ServletContext) context.getMessageContext().get(MessageContext.SERVLET_CONTEXT);
              ApplicationContext springContext = WebApplicationContextUtils.getWebApplicationContext(sc);
              return (MyWSAdapter) springContext.getBean("myWSAdapter");
    So far i'm getting java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError for org.springframework.web.context.support.WebApplicationContextUtils (org.springframework.spring-web_2.5.6.jar), and trying to figure out where is the jetty classpath.

  • Exposing RFC as a Web Service

    Hello All,
    I am working on a SOAP to SOAP (Backend as ECC where I am exposing an RFC as Web Service). Once the Web service is generated for RFC and the WSDL is imported in PI, I can see that all the fields in different nodes become mandatory.
    Is it how normally Web Service for BAPI works or can this behaviour (mandatory / optional) be controlled ?
    Also when I execute the end to end scenario via SOAP UI, I don't get any error back but also neither get the Return table nor the Sales Order NO. I am using the BAPI BAPI_SALESORDER_CREATEFROMDAT2.
    Can it be because of no COMMIT (The BAPI uses external commit although this reason seems less likely as executing a RFC wo any commit atleast gives me a Sales Order no) ?
    How can this call be analysed in backend ECC system ? (As I assume that messages will not be visible in SXMB_MONI as explained by the Harald's thread below. I am currently in process of getting authorization of SOAMANAGER logs but wondering how it'll help?
    Thanking you in advance.

    Hi,
    Please see the SOAP ststud..
    http://<host>:5<sys#>00/mdt/amtServlet
    also you might check any error logs.
    The error is because of invalid xml document. So check the validity of the xml message ie. after first mapping i.e Req mapping.
