The same. And i solved it moving to SuSe 6.2 with their patch
file. But it seems that RedHat 6.1 is able to solve that
problem. Don't know. Never tried.
Surely you can do nothing to overcame that errors with RH6

8i + RH6.1, install problems
Hi,
I am currently trying to install 8i EE (8.1.5.0.0) on a RedHat 6.1 Linux, and I am experiencing more and more problems.
My tests are using a french evaluation version, along with the needed patches (to .0.2), the specific documentation and tips for RH6.1, the requested jre, etc. hardware and system requirement are ok too.
I found almost impossible to install the product ; besides the numerous installer bugs, there are some other ones nobody seems to have noticed : the linux.sh does not work (ordsdo8 lib missing, gcc cannot link some stuff), the dbassist complains it cannot "detect the cdrom" (yes it is working) to copy the file for creating a database, and it cannot build it either, for some other reasons.
As most of you here could install, I wonder : is there stg wrong with the french version? Or with a recent version I got? (Mine is from LinuxWorld fair, Paris, feb-2k).
The install has been tried by 2 persons on 2 machines, one of them had 8.0.5 installed for RH6.1 a few days ago, and was working ok.
Any help?

nullTry my help pages. Though it is for RH 6.0, I have some notes about RH 6.1, and a lot of RH 6.1 users have e-mailed me success using the steps I outlined:

Serious problem after install 126670-01 patch
Hi!
After install the 126670-01 patch (who replace the file /kernel/drv/sparcv9/scsi_vhci) the system can not boot:
/kernel/drv/sparcv9/scsi_vhci: undefined symbol 'scsi_uscsi_alloc_and_copyin'
/kernel/drv/sparcv9/scsi_vhci: undefined symbol 'mdi_pi_kstat_create'
/kernel/drv/sparcv9/scsi_vhci: undefined symbol 'mdi_pi_kstat_exists'
/kernel/drv/sparcv9/scsi_vhci: undefined symbol 'scsi_uscsi_copyout_and_free'
/kernel/drv/sparcv9/scsi_vhci: undefined symbol 'scsi_uscsi_handle_cmd' I uses the smpatch update and shutdown -i 6 -g 0 -y to install this kind of patch.
The only required pacth (120011-14) was installed before...
This bloody patch breaks all the systems where was installed and the only solution was replace the file from other unpatched system (booting using the installation DVD).
If anybody have any idea about how fix this problem, thanks in advance....

Edited by: h.molina on Oct 8, 2007 12:26 PMI had almost the same problem after patching a Sunblade 100. After following Matt's link, I found out that we had patch 125081-16 installed.
I booted it off the net, mounted the root filesystem, and patchrm'd 125081-16.
A reboot reconfigure and the system was back up again.
Here was the exact error I had:

If your software requires exactly patch 125100-10 and is not compatible with its successor, then you can try remove patch 120011-14.

Error when try to install CPU - Critical Patch Update with OPatch
Hello gurus,
I´m faccing with a problem... After I update the patch set to 10.2.0.4 and install the interim patches for Linux X86_64 now I´m trying to import/install the Oracle Critical Patch Update - Oracle CPU patch!!
I´m trying to import it with OPatch, and I already update this OPatch tool for the last version even before proceeding with installation of Oracle CPU!
I've tried to import it by two methods. The first I tried to apply as described in the relevant README file inside of CPU patch directory, and I used in this case the following command:
redhatsap:orajmd> unzip p9119226_10204_<platform>.zip
redhatsap:orajmd> cd 9119226
redhatsap:orajmd> opatch napply -skip_subset -skip_duplicate
opatch: Command not found
After that previous error, I tried again but now with other method that is described in note 839182 (Installing patches using OPatch) with the following command:
redhatsap:orajmd> cd 9119226
redhatsap:orajmd> $ORACLE_HOME/OPatch/opatch apply

Can you help me please?
Best regards
João Dimas - PortugalHello again Joe Bo... and all of others,
I´m with a doubt after installing the CPU patch, which is related to post-installation tasks. I´m in this momment install the SAP System and it was during this installation that sapinst asked me to install the database and all other activities after this installation that are related to the database, for example, the updating of database patches.
At README file in chapter 3.3.2 Post Installation Instructions is described the following:
After installing the patch, perform the following actions:
1.Load modified .sql files into the database, as explained in Section 3.3.2.1.
2.Recompile views in the database, if necessary, as explained in Section 3.3.2.2.
In this momment, as you certainly know, I still don´t have a database because the sap system isn´t yet totally installed (I´m in phase 8 of sapinst wizard).
I only have to do this "Post Installation Tasks" when I have a database, this database will be created after that phase 8 - so now I don´t need to perform the post steps... am I right?
Thanks in advance,
João Dimas - Portugal -

Flash Version: Adobe Flash Player 10.3.183.7 (2,94 MB)
Windows: Win 7 - 64 Bit SP1, German
Hi,
My system hdd crashed last week (yes, I have a data backup) and last weekend I'm started to reinstall everything.
At the point, I started to install flash player or acrobat reader, I came to an problem.
I download the installer "install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe" and put it on the desktop. Right click, start as admin and the exe disappeares. (I'm member of the admin group, system is not member of an Active Directory)
I checked process list an I found the process which flips:
started with: install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe
this started install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1.exe which started
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1.exe and this started
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1.exe
After the new process started, the older process kills automatically. Only two adobe jobs are in the process list all the time.
In the temp folder, I found
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih.exe
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1.exe
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1.exe
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1.exe
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1_1.exe
install_flashplayer10_chrd_aih_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1 _1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1_1.exe
and lot of more.....
I restarted my system several time, disabled AVG antivirus, installed lates Microsoft patches and I tried to unpack the Adobe executable but stops with a password request. Looks like the exe is password protected.
The funny thing is, that I have the same problem with the acrobat reader X.
I never saw this problem before, all other installer (Office, Firefox, Irfanview, Itunes, ....) works well, only the Adobe installer are all broken.
How I can fix that whithout reinstalling everything. Please help.
Thanks a lot

Solaris 8 Install Problem - Partition(s)
First, I am a relative "newbie" when it comes to SUN Solaris and System Adminstration, though I know enough UNIX to be dangerous (read "get me into trouble" - hahaha).
I tried to do an "upgrade" to the O/S (2.7) on my Ultra 5, but when doing an "initial install", the system will only allow me to set the partitions/slices manually at the cylinder level. Any attempts to do so have failed, as I keep getting an "overlapping cylinder" error message, regardless of how I try to setup root, /usr, etc. The Solaris 8 O/S setup swap as follows:
Starting - 3275 Size - 1110
FYI, I was trying to do the install using the Solaris 8 CDROM, Solaris build date 2/02.
Overall, I appear to be having a lot of issues with the Seagate Medalist ST34321A (4.1 Gbyte) drive that came with my Sun Ultra 5. The drive appears to work correctly, but an attempts to "wipe out" the drive (reformat) have not met with success.
Any suggestions anyone can provide regarding the install problem would be appreciated. If you are trying to Upgrade to Sol 8 it is strongly suggested that you do not use the Installation CD. Use CD 1 of 2 with a boot cdrom. You will have to answer the sysid questions and then should get prompted for Initial Install or Upgrade. If you do not get the Upgrade prompt then there is a problem with your original Sol 7 system. Things like nfs mounts in vfstab, links to /var/sadm/patch, pkg or install/contents.
An Upgrade should not be asking you to lay out filesystems. It should use your existing ones. -
Dear everyone,
We are trying to install the below KB in our windows server 2008 R2 SP1, however, it will show "The update is not applicable to your computer". There is no problems to install the other patches except this one. Do anyone have idea about it?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2677070
Thanks,
UsersHi,
According to this KB article, there are many exceptions where this KB is not applicable.
Please perform the following steps:
Expand the “For all supported…” title in the File Information section in the KB article.
Find Crypt32.dll.mui files on your machine.
Then compare the file version, file size, data and time with the ones listed in the KB article.
If there is a match, then this KB doesn’t apply to your machine, which is by design.
Hope this helps.
Best Regards,

Linux install problem (UnsatisifiedLinkRrror)
Installing on RH 6.2 weblogic 510 (SP4).
I get an exception at startup: UnsatisifiedLinkError: ...
libweblogicunix1.so:undefined symbol:makeCString
I verified that $weblogic/lib/linux is in LD_LIBRARY_PATH. Anyone have an
idea where I may look? I have already installed the SP4 patch and tried
setting native IO to false, but the problem persists.
Thanks!
JohnI've unpacked with ./creator-2_1-linux-ml.bin -is:extract. Than i've installed patched jre from installation archive (1.4.2_04). Than i've lauched java -jar linux.jar. Hi, After I applied the 5 patch to oracle 9201 on Win XP the export utility has started to complain about
EXP-00008: ORACLE error 942 encountered
ORA-00942: table or view does not exist
EXP-00024: Export views not installed, please notify your DBA
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully
And after I applied catexp.sql script, it didn't fix the issue with export, the error message has become like this:
EXP-00056: ORACLE error 31600 encountered
ORA-31600: invalid input value EMIT_SCHEMA for parameter NAME in function SET_TRANSFORM_PARAM
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_SYS_ERROR", line 105
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA_INT", line 3926
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA_INT", line 4050
ORA-06512: at "SYS.DBMS_METADATA", line 836
ORA-06512: at line 1
EXP-00000: Export terminated unsuccessfully
Can someone advise, what's wrong with it? With oracle 9.2.0.1 export worked fine, after upgrade to 9.2.0.5 it fails every time it gets to the table data export stage.
Thanks in adviseIt seems that you have found an answer in other forum :

OS 9 Install problem on imac G3
hello all,
i have an OS install problem on my imac . I just finished formatting the drive . the drive is
paritioned :
1st partition = HD1: 5.5 Gb
2nd partition = HD2 : 2.5 Gb
3rd partition = HD3 : 110+ Gb
Then, in order to save some time ( i thought ) , i tried directly install os 9 from an imac
DV CD , on HD1 : i thought i d be quicker so i would have to start with os 8.5 then upgrade to 8.6 and etc .
that turned out to be a bad idea. the system install warned me it couldnt install Air port because the hardware wasnt compatible . it gave me two options : either ignore this message or quit . i chose ignore : again certainly a bad choice .
After the install was finished , the mac wouldnt start on HD1 . the sytem install is apparently incomplete ,or anycase it doesnt work .
i then installed os 8.5 from original imac tray load install CD on HD2 , and it works fine .
now the question is : what should i do with my bad os9 system ? i need an operating system on this partition. perhaps i can trash it and reinstall mac os8.5 on it ? i hope there is a way to get out of this without formatting the drive again .
thanks for any advice .about the os9 CD : it is a retail verson , only not of the same imac model .
That is not a retail version of OS 9. A retail version of OS 9 has no dependencies on any model of Mac. You have a machine specific disc which probably won't work with your iMac.
1/ i dont know how to reformat a partition without formatting the entire drive . perhaps you can explain .
In OS X you use Disk Utility and only select the partition that you want to reformat. It has been ages since I used OS 8 so I'm not sure if it is even possible using "Drive Setup". -
Nano install problems. Works on USB 1.1!
Twelve months ago I went through the getting an IPOD to install properly problems with my son's IPOD, on his all singing all dancing new PC. Only finally resolved this by installing via the firewire port rather than USB. Therefore it was with some trepidation that I recently got a Nano for my wife's birthday, but hey I thought someone like Apple would have got their act together in the interim and installing should be straight forward. Have they? NO! Tried installing the Nano on my aging Pentium III which has a USB 2.0 PCI card, and for which all other devices plugged into it worked OK. Couldn't even get Windows to properly recognise it "A problem occurred during harware install your device may not be working properly". Tried Apple's suggestions and other users suggestions all to no avail. Firewire install option is not a possibility with Nano, but finally thought why not try one of the USB 1.1 ports on my aging computer, and guess what it installed first time and works without any problems. Transfer rate is not to bad either 850 songs in 1hr 10min. The only slightly different thing I did (which some other users also say) is not to re-boot the computer at the end of installation when it prompts you to and start using Itunes straight away and do some downloading then re-boot later.
Not much comfort to users with newer PC's but if you have an older computer with a USB 1.1 port and have install problems, try it as it may work for you as well.
Like every one else with install problems on PC's I say "come on Apple" individually or together with Microsoft please get this sorted out. My view of Apple was that they have great products (still true) that are easy to use (still true) and install without problems (patently not true).
Pentium III 800 Windows XPGosh, I have tried this many times. Over several days. I have also reset the shuffle, which as far as I can tell, consists of turning it on and then off.
Last night, it started updating the music via the keyboard USB 1.1, which I know takes forever. Then it lost communications and quit. -

at a guess, CBS is encountering this access denied error and aborting due to an inconsistency in the servicing store.
check your CBS.log file
you should check your system health with SFC /scannow
also check system health with DISM:
