Rightfax server with Brooktrout Analogue interfaces to cisco Voice gateway

Hi,
I have Rightfax server that will be connecting into a Cisco Voice Gateway via analogue interfaces. The Brooktrout card is model : Brooktrout TR114-P4L. Could anyone advise what type of VIC module I require. I will need to support DID and DTMF-relay on these interfaces.
thanks

We have made these work a few times in the past. The cards expect work as a FXO interface, and expect battery feed from the external device. To make these work on IOS gateways, use a FXS card on the router, and H323 operation to allow the POTS dial peer to send digits out the voie port.
The cards will answer on ring signal from the FXS port and expect DTMF digits to route the call to the correct fax mailbox number. This is why you need H323 operation - MGCP will supress the DTMF tones from being sent out the voice port. You also need a 'prefix ,,' to add a delay as the cards are a bit slow to answer.
A config like this should work -
dial-peer voice 1000 pots
description - fxs port to fax card
destination-pattern 1...
port 0/1/0
prefix ,,1
This will send numbers in the range 1XXX towards the fax card

  • Setup of 2 B-channel transfer (TBCT) on Cisco Voice Gateway

    Hi all,
    In my scenario, I have several remote locations, each with their own T1-PRI connection to the PSTN via Cisco voice gateways.
    The call flow has the caller calling a PSTN number at the remote location.  This call hits a CUCM translation pattern and is immediately hairpinned/tromboned out to a PSTN number located at the UCCE central location.
    The customer would like to perform a 2 b-channel transfer back up to the CO switch, to free up B-channels to the remote location.
    My question is this:  Assuming my switch type is supported and the PSTN provider supports 2 b-channel transfers, do I simply need to add "isdn supp-service tbct" to my serial interface configuration?
    I have seen discussions that it is as simple as this, to needing some tcl/xml code, to also requiring aaa to be setup.
    As there are over 100 locations being considered for this enhancement, the customer would like to know if it is 15 minutes or 2 hours per location to implement.
    Thanks,
    Joe

    Thanks Paolo,
    That was my expectation.
    They have this going on the VG's utilized by CVP, so I will ask them to review the XML in use there for tweaking for the remote locations.
    Thanks again!
    Joe

  • Is there a possibility to retreve Data from the OPC Server with the XML Interface

    Is there a possibility to connect a OPC/DA server with the help of the XML interface with Labview?
    I need to retrieve Data from a OPC Server running on Linux, so i got no Dcom System an I need to use XML. The server is running and with OPC client-tools i can access de different data. So now I want to visualize all Data
    that come from that server on Labview.
    1. Is it possible to realize that?
    2. Is a library or a demo vi available ?
    Regards
    Densel

    Hi Densel,
    Sure, you can use XML within LabVIEW, the question is which syntax do you use?
    Are you able to send the XML statements via TCP/IP?

  • Long PDD in cisco voice gateway

    Dear All,
    I have same network scenario as below:
    Mobile phone (Originate PSTN) -------------------> AS5400XM( H323)-------------------> (H323) Gateway ( Terminate GW )---------> client Mobile phone.
    I have problem as below
    1. how to check Post dial delay between Originate PSTN to AS5400XM?
    2. I have sent call to terminate gatway with H323 protocol and is there any command to check PDD in AS5400 to
    Terminate GW? How to solve long PDD in such case in each segment?
    Best Regards
    Dan

    Hi Dan
    If the call is originated from PSTN, just check with your PSTN provider and identify the Interdigit PDD timer and try to reduce it. Also when the Dial-pattern is configured correctly at the PSTN then the PDD is minimal. Make sure your provider has configured it properly.
    PDD will be longer as a call that is completely dialed has to wait several seconds for additional digits to be sure it has all the digits.
    Thanks.

    Hello,
    the pinout for the router is documented at at:
    http://cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2641/products_module_installation_guide_chapter09186a008007cb4c.html
    You will need to configure both PBXs for ISDN PRI as described at;

  • Include multiple sub-interfaces in Cisco ASA for VPN tunnel

    I am trying to create a VPN tunnel between two Cisco ASAs where one ASA has multiple sub-interfaces.

    Inside, int0/1 : 10.1.1.0/24
    DMZ, int0/1.100: 10.1.100.0/24 (VLAN 100)

    So far, I have only been able to provide outside access to one of the sub-interfaces as NAT rule on inside interface didn't work for VLANs. Hence had to issue Global NAT rule to be applied on Production subinterface so that production VLAN can have outside access. I have managed to establish VPN tunnel between two ASAs on Production sub-interface only, Source interface = Production subinterface
    Additional settings:
    Have ACL to allow all sub interfaces to access outsite ( lower security level)
    NAT rules is configured on Production subinterface with Source NAT Type as Dynamic PAT; when this was configured with source interface as inside, PCs behind various VLAN coun't access internet.

  • Zone with multiple logical interfaces

    Hi,
    How can multiple logical network interfaces be added to a running zone?
    I have configured and installed a whole root zone with one shared-ip network interface.
    Now, I need to add more logical interfaces to the same zone.
    On a physical server with a bge interface, I would create a /etc/hostname file for each logical interface such as
    $ ls /etc | grep host
    hostname.bge0
    hostname.bge0:1
    hostname.bge0:2
    hostname.bge0:3
    hostname.bge0:4
    hostname.bge1
    hostname.bge1:1
    hostname.bge1:2
    hostname.bge1:3
    hostname.bge3
    hosts
    $How can the above be done for a zone?

    Hi
    This requires 2 steps. Firstly update your zone configuration to add the logical interface and its associated IP address.
    Assuming from below you want the logical interface to be added to bge0 then do the following replacing the zonename and ip address for whatever is appropriate for you.
    # zonecfg -z itchyzone
    zonecfg:itchyzone1> add net
    zonecfg:itchyzone1:net> set address=192.168.1.21
    zonecfg:itchyzone1:net> set physical=bge0
    zonecfg:itchyzone1:net> end
    zonecfg:itchyzone1> exitYou can do the above as many times as you like to create multiple logical interfaces for the zone.
    After doing the above you will need to reboot the zone to get the new logical interface.
    However if you cant reboot the zone you can plumb a logical interface into the zone by running something similar to the following (change for your zonename, IP etc) from the global zone:
    # ifconfig bge0 addif 192.168.1.21 netmask + broadcast + zone itchyzone1 upyou will now have an extra interface in the zone (in this case called itchyzone1). To verify, login to the zone and run ifconfig -a and you will see your new interface.
    # zlogin itchyzone1
    [Connected to zone 'itchyzone1' pts/4]
    Last login: Mon Oct  5 22:24:15 on pts/4
    Sun Microsystems Inc.   SunOS 5.10      Generic January 2005
    # ifconfig -a

            inet 127.0.0.1 netmask ff000000

  • CR Server 2008 / Using openDocument interface with a no-logon wrapper

    Hi, all!
    I had a problem with the openDocument.jsp interface and a no-logon wrapper which took me quite a while to figure out. I'm now posting these results here in the hopes that someone else will find them useful. Of course, if anyone has input how to improve the solution, it's also welcome!
    The system on which this was developed and tested was a vanilla Crystal Reports Server 2008 installation on Tomcat / MySQL / Windows Server 2003.
    The problem was that calls to openDocument interface left sessions open and this quickly led to the situation where all the concurrent access licenses (CALs) were used. It seemed nondeterministic when a session was released; it could have been minutes or hours.
    The solution: write a HTTP session timeout listener which logoffs the CRS-backend session. (The code below has still some dubug output enabled.)
    package fi.niscayah.util;
    import com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.IEnterpriseSession;
    import javax.servlet.http.*;
    import java.util.Date;
    import java.util.Enumeration;
    import java.text.SimpleDateFormat;
    public class KillSession implements HttpSessionListener
        public void sessionCreated(HttpSessionEvent event)
            debug("sessionCreated()", event);
        public void sessionDestroyed(HttpSessionEvent event)
            HttpSession session = event.getSession();
            try {
                java.util.Enumeration name = session.getAttributeNames();
                while (name.hasMoreElements()) {
                    String attributeName = (String)name.nextElement();
                    Object attribute = session.getAttribute(attributeName);
                    if((attribute != null) && (attribute instanceof IEnterpriseSession)) {
                        debug("  attribute : " + attributeName);
                        debug("  type      : " + attribute.getClass().getName());
                        IEnterpriseSession ies = (IEnterpriseSession)attribute;
                        ies.logoff();
                debug("sessionDestroyed()", event);
            } catch (Exception ex) {
                debug("sessionDestroyed() exception");
        private void debug(String msg)
            SimpleDateFormat sdf = new SimpleDateFormat("HH:mm:ss");
            String timestamp = sdf.format(new Date());
            System.err.println("[KillSession] [" + timestamp + "] " + msg);
        private void debug(String msg, HttpSessionEvent event)
            HttpSession session = event.getSession();
            String id = session.getId();
            String context = session.getServletContext().getServletContextName();
            debug("[" + context + "] [" + id + "] " + msg);
    (If you want to test the above code, create a .jar package out of it and put it in webapps/OpenDocument/WEB-INF/lib.)
    Next we need to register our listener. I noticed that the openDocument-webapp's web.xml-file already contained a listener definition that claimed to expire enterprise sessions on HTTP timeout. I never saw such results; I tested it by registering my own listener, which only outputted debug information, and then when ever a session timeout happened, I checked the amount of licenses in use via the CMC - it never dropped predictably.
    So, comment out the SessionCleanupListener and add KillSession.
    <!-- SK: Added own listener. -->
    <listener>
        <listener-class>fi.niscayah.util.KillSession</listener-class>
    </listener>
    <!-- SK: Commented out. -->
    <!-- SessionCleanupListener is used to expire the EnterpriseSession when the web session is timeout -->
    <!-- <listener>
        <listener-class>com.businessobjects.sdk.ceutils.SessionCleanupListener</listener-class>
    </listener> -->
    After the above, change the HTTP session timeout to something more suitable. If you're creating really big reports, one minute might be too little. Also notice, that the value is an approximation. The timeout event might happen just as one minute has passed, but usually it takes more.
    <session-config>
        <session-timeout>1</session-timeout>
    </session-config>
    Now we're good to go and test the openDocument interface. The result should be that every time a HTTP session timeouts, an enterprise session (which was initialized via the openDocument call) is logged off.
    Next the no-logon wrapper.
    I found a lot of examples for logging in automatically, but every one of them exhibited a strange behavior (at least when used in conjunction with the openDocument interface) where the session count was increased by two. A lot of head scratching later, the solution below was devised.
    <%@ page language="java"
        import = "com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.CrystalEnterprise,
                  com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.IEnterpriseSession,
                  com.crystaldecisions.sdk.framework.ISessionMgr,
                  com.crystaldecisions.sdk.exception.SDKException"
    %>
    <%
    ISessionMgr sessionManager = CrystalEnterprise.getSessionMgr();
    IEnterpriseSession entSession = sessionManager.logon("Guest", "", "<server>:6400", "secEnterprise");
    String entToken = entSession.getLogonTokenMgr().createWCAToken("", 1, 1);
    // So that this can be logged off when the session timeouts
    HttpSession httpSession = request.getSession();
    httpSession.setAttribute("nologon_SESSION", entSession);
    String query = request.getQueryString();
    String redirectURL = "http://<server>:8080/OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?" +
        query + "&token=" + entToken;
    response.sendRedirect(redirectURL);
    %>
    You can put the above .jsp-file where you like, but I dropped it in webapps/openDocument, since it's no use by itself.
    The use of nologon.jsp is simple: use it as you would openDocument.jsp.
    And there you have it. A word of warning though, if you're not sure what you're doing, I wouldn't recommend trying these things out. And you certainly shouldn't deploy these on a production environment.
    As said before, any input is welcome!

    I'll comment on the BusinessObjects Enterprise logon tokens that you may generate via the Enterprise SDK.
    DefaultToken - this is used for failover - i.e., if the original EnterpriseSession object is destroyed without having logoff() method invoked, the failover can be used to re-connect to Enterprise without redo-ing authentication.  This token is immediately invalidated with EnterpriseSession.logoff().
    CreateLogonToken - token represents an EnterpriseSession independent of the original EnterpriseSession that generates it.  So you should generated the CreateLogonToken and log off the EnterpriseSession before using the token, or you'll have two licenses being used.
    CreateWCAToken - the Web Component Adapter token - this token is tied to the EnterpriseSession used to create it.  If this EnterpriseSession is invalidated, the WCA token can no longer be used.  Since this is essentially re-use of the original EnterpriseSession, license count is not increased with its use.
    So in your application, you're generating the WCA Token, and using the Session Listener to explicitly log off the originating EnterpriseSession.  The SessionCleanupListener is for cleaning up sessions created within InfoView on Web Application Server Session timeout.
    Sincerely,
    Ted Ueda

    Hi,
    For sync interface. You have to have a sync MI with both request and response message type.
    when you generate a proxy for the same , you will get a method called execute_synchronous, and import and export parameter.
    You don't have explicitly identify anywhere that the interface is sync.

    There was another posting concernging the same question, so I'll just paste here what I responded to the other:
    I've searched around to try and find one for you, but I haven't seen anything with this. Does the Cisco 2511 have a specific API to control it with? I don't know much about it, but if it has some specific interface, there may be an example we could find that relates to the Cisco 2511 interface.
