Rio system software conflict resolution

I noticed the following Conflict Resolution report when trying to start running a LabVIEW 2012 application on an NI-9074 cRIO.
Errors were detected in the target log when connecting to the target:
LabVIEW: Failed to load shared library vxsntpc.out. Ensure that the library is present on the RT target. Use MAX to install NI software or FTP to transfer custom libraries to the RT target.
LabVIEW: Failed to load shared library niDiscSvc.out. Ensure that the library is present on the RT target. Use MAX to install NI software or FTP to transfer custom libraries to the RT target.
LabVIEW: Failed to load shared library niorbs.out. Ensure that the library is present on the RT target. Use MAX to install NI software or FTP to transfer custom libraries to the RT target.
Select "Apply" to ignore these errors and continue with deployment.
NI-MAX reports that the host has newer versions of some cRIO software components than are on the cRIO. I tried to update them using NI-MAX, but got a message that Network Variable Engine 12.0.0, Network Streams 1.2, System State Publisher 3.0.0, and Variable Client Support for LabVIEW RT 12.0.0 all require LogosXT 5.4.0. I'm not sure what this means.
Are the updates available on the host for LabVIEW 2013? How do I discover the components that load vxsntpc.out, niDiscSvc.out, and niorbs.out?

Thanks for your reply.
On Friday evening, per NI suggestion, I installed the latest system configuration. That did not eliminate the problem. On Monday morning, per NI suggestion, I reformattted the cRIO and reinstalled the system software. That fixed the problem.

I went through the sap notes & found that i need to download ST-SER 700_2008_1.
SAP Solution Manager 7.0 (Software component ST 400)
ST 400 SP16 (SAPKITL426)
With SP16 (SAPKITL426) SAP strictly recommends to upgrade your ST-SER tothe release 700_2008_1 or higher. Therefore use transaction SAINT instead of transaction SPAM to patch your system to SAP Solution Manager 7.0. If you try to patch your system via SPAM and your ST-SER release is 700_2007_1 or less you will receive one of the following information within SPAM during phase ADDON_CONFLICTS_?:
                    a) Conflicts Between Add-On ST-SER 700_2005_2 and Support Packages SAPKITL426 Include CRT

Upgrading to 10.3 or 10.4-software conflicts?

I have a Power PC G4 (Dual 867 MHz Processor). Running Classic 9.2 and OSX 10.2.8. I'm looking at the pros and cons of upgrading to 10.3 or 10.4. And I want to minimize upgrade purchases and conflicts for my existing software.
Any known software conflicts with OS X 10.3 or 10.4 and older Adobe products? I'm using Photoshop 7.0, Illustrator 10. I'm also using Dreamweaver MX 2004, Microsoft Office 2004, Quark Xpress (am upgrading to 6).
Also, what's the best browser and email program to use with 10.3 or 10.4?

Is there a particular reason you need to update? Do you use your computer and software in conjunction with a business or job? In the case of the latter you should never upgrade when you depend upon mission critical software or hardware until you have verified compatibility.
In your case you should contact the individual software developers/companies and inquire about version compatibility with different versions of OS X. Sometimes you can find this out by visiting their respective websites and reading the System Requirements information. You can also use the resources at www.versiontracker.com to find out about OS X version compatibility for your various titles.

Personally if you are planning to upgrade I would upgrade to Tiger because it is current. However, before upgrading I would plan to make a bootable backup of your current system to an external Firewire drive. In case you have any problems or change your mind you can always restore the backup. To make a bootable backup you will need an external Firewire drive equal to or greater in size than your internal hard drive. You wil need to download Carbon Copy Cloner from www.versiontracker.com and install it. Carefully read the documentation for CCC to learn how to use it properly to make a bootable clone. After you make your clone test it by trying to boot the computer with it.
In my opinion the best browsers for OS X are Safari and OmniWeb. The best email application is Entourage (part of Office X 2004) or Power Mail. However, you will not find much consensus on either of these applications. Everyone has their opinion. The best suggestion is try them all out and see which ones you like best. Trial versions can be found at www.versiontracker.com for the shareware or commercial products.

Where do I set up rules for conflict resolution when syncing iTunes with Outlook?

I just got an iPhone 5 and I'm coming from a Blackberry. I've been syncing Outlook Calendar and Contacts to a portable device for over 10 years, even back in the day of the pocket pc and more recently the Blackberry. My iPhone 5 syncs great and seemlessly with Outlook using iTunes. I've had no issues as of yet. The problem for me is, it just seems "too" easy. I didn't see anywhere where I could set rules for conflict resolutions. For example, if your pc says one thing but your iPhone says another, who wins and supercedes the other? What if by accident your iPhone loses all of its data, then iTunes syncs with your pc - will it delete all the Outlook data on your pc because it thinks it's syncing with updated data from your iPhone? (in my case data I've had for over 10 years)
With the Blackberry software it asked you to set up rules for conflict resolution when first connecting the phone (including an option to ask you first). In my case, I chose to have it ask me whenever it discovered a conflict. So whenever I synced, it specifically alerted me exactly how many items are being synced, and then if there were any conflicts, it'd stop and then ask me which device I want to supercede the other. This gave me a lot of piece of mind. Now after getting my iPhone and using iTunes to sync, it's been great so far but I have to say that I don't have as much piece of mind. Does anyone have any feedback on how to set up conflict resolution with iTunes and Outlook or does it not exist at all? Again, what would happen if there was a conflict between the two devices?

I followed your example to the letter and it still wouldn't work. Or rather, I followed to the letter expect for the difference between "WEB" and "META".
Once I worked that out, it started working like a dream.
Note to anyone else who has a similar problem, make sure you REALLY look at the answer given. Make sure you REALLY do have all the files in the suggested places. It will save you time.

How can i troubleshoot a "software conflict between a device and something in my original user account"

my canon video camera (HV20) wasnt being recognised by iMovie (error message...in system report was "Unable to list FireWire devices".)
in researching a solution i came across some firewire advice in http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1151#trouble which suggests there may be a "software conflict between the device and something in your original user account."
i changed to another account on my iMac and my camera connected immediately.
is anybody able to explain how i go about fixing this "software conflict".

With the Mail.app quit and using the Finder, go to Home > Library > Mail > Mailboxes > Outbox.mbox.
The Outbox.mbox represents "Out" in the mailboxes drawer and is shared by all accounts.
Delete the Outbox.mbox and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new Outbox.mbox will be created automatically by Mail within the Mailboxes folder and this should resolve the problem.

Business conflict resolution in Streams

Suppose we have 2 or more instances of some Oracle-based ERP system, the first one located at headquaters, the second one and others - in the regional branches. We need to have bidirectional syncronization for some of the system's business entities. During syncronization we need to detect and resolve business conflicts, which are not defined as database constraints.
For example:
some Customer attibute's value can be replicated to the headquaters instance from the branch instance only when it's value in the branch instance is less then existing value in HQ instance
I wonder is there any functionality in Streams, which can be used for such business conflicts detection and resolution (optionally with human intervention) ?

An apply process detects an update conflict if there is any difference between the old values for a row in a row LCR and the current values of the same row at the destination database.

You can code you own conflict handler but you can not change conflict detection. I am not sure if you want to change conclict detection or conflict resolution.
It is not a problem to create conflict resolition procedure.
possible workaround for conflict detection:
It is possible to use DML handler. You can code any bussiness logics to this handler( conflict handler as well).
I have some experience with DML handlers. You need to use DML handlers very carefully because you will use DML handler for each LCR. Replication performance impact can be very significant.
Good thing about DML handlers that you can execute LCRs in parallel (so many DML handlers will be executed in parallel).

Conflict resolution manager having which spid at the database server.

I've come across a situation where in one of the
1.SID was generating high redo SID - 1098 .
2.when i checked what this sid was doing - i figure out that it belongs to a report set, still having the sid at the database server.
3.The client process id(12041) of thie SID(1098) is shown as the spid shown in the system column at system administrator --> concurrent manager --> Administer --> Highlight conflict resolution manager --> click processes.
4. I understand that we need to grep for the osporcess "ps" using spid and not using "client process id" (process from v$session). Please clarify.
5.when I grep for 10241 it is indeed pointing to CRM process. but when I query for spid (12055) associated with sid (1098) it points to a Reports set which completed error and generating some kind of redo ( which triggered all the above questions).
6.Now the question is should we be checking for SPID (120550) associated with SID(1098) which says (LOCAL=NO) and safe to kill. as the status of the SID says inactive, though the last_call_et is just showing 1.

FCP 5.03 won't launch/software conflicts with Avid?

Hi,
I just purchased FCP Studio and a new dual 2.3 G5. Installation ran fine. All other apps open (ie: soundtrack, dvd studio, motion, compressor, etc.).
When I try to open FCP 5.03, it starts to open - anotherwords the rectangular box with FCP and my name and the serial number comes up like it's going to launch, but then the box goes away and no application. The finder then becomes active.
I'm running on and OS 10.4.2 and QT 7.0.1 and would rather not go to 10.4.3 or a higher version of QT as I need this OS and QT for my Avid Xpress application. Plus I do not suspect that the OS or QT version is the problem, as we know FCP has launched on OS 10.4.2 and QT 7.0.1. All other software is up to date.
Possibly there are software conflicts with Avid? The only other software I have installed on this machine is that which was packaged with Avid Xpress Pro v.4.8.1 which is as follows:

I've run 4.5 and Avid Express on the same system. And 5.0.3 (haven't cranked up the Avid software since installing 5.0.3). My first suspect would be some kind of Audio plugin.
Use the Console program to inspect the logs. You might learn something that way. (/Applications/Utilities/Console).

Building semi-automatic conflict resolution

Hi All,
Interesting challenge: When a conflict occurs, my client does not want to bother the operator with the conflict resolution. So in most cases my client wants the conflicts to be solved automatically (which in the simpler cases is not that difficult - somebody changed an attribute on a record that does not affect your work, but does create a conflict when merging your workspace), unless the conflict is too difficult: then a message should simply say: impossible at this time.
So here is the workflow I have in mind:
User A creates a workspace wA
User B creates a workspace wB
User B edits attribute C of record 1234 in wB
User B Commits
User A edits attribute D of record 1234 in wA
User A Commits, gets a conflict
Software checks changes
sees that this change will not conflict
"reloads" original record 1234
makes the change on attribute D
Commits again
Is this doable? I'd like to think so, but have no time for a real test in code.

we're not exactly having the same requirements as your customer does, but some quite similar ones.
that's a quite interesting scenario you have, so here's a question.
how do you do the "reload original record" thing? is it something like this?:
- user A begins merge session (whereas "session" means in our case the user opens the merge/refresh tooling of our application)
- detect conflict on record 1234
- load record 1234 (with the change C already applied) from wB
- add change D to the record
- store record 1234 with now changes C and D into workspace wA
- run merge and commit the change on record 1234 with conflict resolution set to KEEP_CHILD
- end merge session
we also thought about such kind of operations, though we never really got warm with it as we don't like the idea of applying automatic
background patches to data, but probably there is no real choice :)

Hot Synch Manager Settings (Conflict Resolution)

I synch an office desktop and a home desktop with one Palm Z22. I have had a lot of problems with duplicate appointments ! How should I configure the Hot Sync Manager settings? I have the conduits (calendar, note pad, etc. ) set on "synchonize the files". But when I click on "change" and then "settings", I'm brought to the option of "Conflict Resolution" and the choices are duplicate, Outlook wins, Handheld wins, or ignore. Which should I choose if I want to avoid duplicate appointments ?

After reinstalling system software, Apple Loops won't re-index

I have an odd problem that I really need some help with. I feel like there must be a simple solution, and I'm just missing something obvious.
The other day I had to do an archive and install from my original system disks (10.4.2) and then bring myself back to 10.4.11 (running a dual quad-core G5 here). I had to manually move my audio units and virtual instruments back to my current logic setup and application support folders.
I just went into the Loop Browser, and all of my apple loops have disappeared from the window. The loops exist on various external hard drives, and I normally just drop them onto the loop browser and pick "keep at current location" - then the browser indexes them, and everything is fine.
This is the first time I'm accessing apple loops since I reinstalled the system software (and I do still have the "Previous System" folder that the archive-and-install generates), and I got a blank list in the loop browser. So I tried dragging and dropping a few loop libraries, but to no avail - it appears to index them quickly (taking 1-2 seconds) but then there's still nothing in the browser. I've deleted the old index text files, so that shouldn't be a problem.
Can anyone help me figure out how to get my apple loops to re-index properly?

Desktop Software 6.0 (PC) does not show OS 6 system software and core applications

I have installed DM 600_b047 on my PC (running WinXP w/ SP3). I have also installed both OS 6.0.0_rel862 and 5.0.0_rel1385 on the same PC. When I connect my Bold 9000 to the PC, DM shows everything that is installed on the device. However, when disconnect the Bold and I connect my Torch 9800, DM shows only the third-party apps installed on the device. DM does not show the System Software, Core Applications, Phone, etc. that are installed on the Torch.
On another PC (also WinXP w/ SP3), I have installed the same DM and OS software. DM on the latter PC shows all System Software, Core Apps, 3rd-party apps, etc. of both the Bold and Torch.
I would appreciate any suggestions how to get my other PC to show all BB software installed on the Torch. I have already uninstalled and reinstalled the DM and OS software on the one PC. It did not resolve my issue.

Here's how I resolved my issue:
1. On the DM's Applications page, click the "Import files" button.
2. Drill down to the folder containing the .alx files of the BB OS. In my case, that would be "C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\9800M_v6.0.0.284_P6.4.0.120"
3. Select the alx files shown.in the files window..
4. Click the "Open" button of the dialog box.
5. Wait for DM to finish processing the selected files.
Voila! Now I see all the apps.
Maybe RIM's software and/or system engineers can explain how the DM software got into the condition where it apparently had not selected the .alx files.

Desktop Software does not detack BB 6 System Software and Language

Hi,
I wanted to install other languages back to my phone (currently only English). However, my Desktop Software 6.1.0.36 installed in Vista does not detect and display BB 6.0.0 system software, and so is language option. BI can see other installed software, even the application installed a day ago, but just cannot see the OS and language.
I tried installed the Desktop Software to other PC, but they were not detected and displayed either. I checked with my other friends, they are able to see the System OS and Language. What can i do ? Anybody encounter the same problem ?
