Rounding profile: convert ordered qty to another UoM

Hi all,
I would like to convert the ordered qty on the sales order into a different unit of measure. This can be done with rounding profile. However, I don't want it to round if it is not exact.
For example: 1 case = 100 EA. If a customer orders 100 EA, it will automatically convert it to 1 case. This should work.
However, if customer orders 75 EA, I don't want it to auto round to 100EA (and convert to 1 case). Instead I want an error to occur, or atleast give the user the option to round or not round.
How can this be done?
Thanks

Rounding profile is used to adjust the order proposal quantity to deliverable units.
Sales unit will default the order item to cases (As entered in material master).
Now, if you want to give an options to the user
1st thing to check at order item level is
1. Is the Sales order UOM = Sales UOM of material (VBAP-VRKME = MVKE-VRKME)
If not then
Check if the sales order unit satisfies the conversion factor (if VBAP - VRKME can be converted to MVKE-VRKME)
If yes then change the sales order unit and make it equal to material sales unit
If not then
switch off round up, have a pop up asking user for pop-up
You will have to utilize
1. Rounding,
2. Sales unit of Material
3. Exit to change VBAP.
4. Screen changes for pop up.

  • Rounding Profile for Sales Order Quantity

    Hi ALl,
we want to set up sales order such that order can be logged in for min. qty of 100 and further in multiples of 50 . So we created a rounding profile in PP->MRP->planning->lot size calculation. But the profile created here is not available for selection in material master sales org. 1 view.
Where do we need to maintaion this rounding profile in order to be able to select in sales 1 view of material master.
    Prashant

firstly, setup the field Rounding permitted of item category you used in S/O.
secondly, setup the field RoundingProfile in material master data.
thirdly, check the value in transaction OWD1, Maintain Control Profiles for Quantity Optimizng, Assign Control Profiles.

  • Order qty Based on ROH qty

Hi I want to round off my order qty based on ROH. Say ROH is available multiples of 0.6 TONS.My Fert is need to plan so to that it consumes  0.6 ,1.2 , 1.8 etc TONS.
Without using Material-Qty calculatiuon is it possible?? Because I am using Discrete Mfg.

    Hi,
You must be having the Lot-size as EX.
In this situation, For your lot size : EX, in OPI4, Activate the MTO Lot size as "1" (Lot-for-lot with Rounding).
Maintain the Rounding Value in MRP1 View.
Now the Order will be created with Multiples of your rounding Value.
    Hope this helps..

  • Usage of rounding profile in manual created production order

    Hi,
We are making usage of various static rounding profiles.
For each of the materials produced, the rounding qty can be different, depending on the workcenters used to produce the materials (but for one material, there is only 1 rounding profile possible)
This works fine as long as we create planned orders via MRP runs (rounds up according the values set)
However, this rounding value is not taken into account (proposal, warning, error,..) when a user creates a planned order manually via MD11 or a production order via CO01.
Furthermore there is no warning message or whatever at the moment a user is converting a planned order (with a correct calculated rounded value) into a production order and manuaaly adapts the order qty.
As were are talking about a few 1000 different materials, the production planner cannot know all by heart and the rounding proposal would be excellent.
Anybody an idea how to implement this ?
    Thanks and regards?

    Hello again,
    thanks for you prompt answer.
This would certainly solve our problem in case we would have always one and the same quantity to produce for a given material; but this is not always te case.
Perhaps it was not clearly explained in my first mail, but we would like to work with one (1) ROUNDING PROFILE per material.
Example, material A can be produced in multiples of 14; as such it should be possible for the production planner to create production orders for 14, 28, 42 , 56,..... pieces. When entering a order for eg. 25 pieces (= example the qty needed for a certain sales order), the system shpuld round to 28.
Other materials (having another rounding profile) are produced in multiples 3, im mulitples of 5,...
For this particular plant we have about 50 different rounding profiles in place.
So it somewhat logic that a production planner does not know all these by heart.
If you have a solution for this as well, please let me know.
Anyway already my thanks for feedback.
    Regards.

  • Rounding Profile on Sales Orders

Hi  Guys, I am trying to set up a rounding profile on sales order. I did a config and is working fine for PO but not for sales order. I have rounding permit option selected in item category in sales order too, I have rounding profile defined in sales and MRP 1 view in material master but its just not rounding up to the value i defined when i save the sales order, Does any body know why?? Can you help please! Thanks

create your static rounding profile and plant  in OWD1
    like:
    Threshold value    Round Value
    1                            5
    6                            10
    11                           20
    21                           30
    31                           40
assign the profile in the Sales Org data 1 in material master
    enable rounding permitted in VOV7

  • Restricting production order qty while the converting planned order

    Dear all Hi,
I have a planned order for 10 qty. While converting it to production order the system is allowing me to increase the qty to more than 10 (eg 11 qty) & it is saving the production order.
But the clients requirement is that system should not allow the user to create the production order for qty more than palnned order qty.
Please help/suggest how to get this restriction from the system.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
If that is the case, then eliminate the Process of manual conversion of Planned Order to production order.
You can use the Program PPBICO40.
Schedule this Program as a background job, after the MRP Run.
Authorization management with strict monitoring will eliminate this type of process.

  • Rounding Profile for Transfer Order

    Hello all,
I want to ask a question about the rounding profile for transfer order. I have a material number which has rounding profile for PO
from vendor. You can only order 60 packeges in carton. We have no problem here. The problem is after we get the order from vendor to DC we want to distribute to the store.Store create transfer order from DC with the same rounding profile. We want to transfer this item wiht the lower rounding profile from dc to store like 5 pieces minimum. If store want to create Transfer PO it has to create with 5 piece or multiple of 5.
How can I create new rounding rule for store without changing vendor rule. is that possible ?
    thank you for your help..

In addition to the rounding rule in PO, you can maintain it for vendor master also. This would be specific to the vendors.
So for your store you can maintain a separate rounding rule, and create a PO. SO whenever PO is created an predefined rounding rule will get activated in the vendor master.

  • Confirmation of the production order qty equal to sales order qty

    Hi Experts,
I need to control the confirmation of the production order should be equal to sales order qty.
I'm having the scenario as follows
If sale order qty for X material = 3
while running the MRP, system will plan the order qty as 8 because of we maintained rounding profile in the Material master and enhancement we used for this.
    Rounding Profile Qty=5
    Total Production Order Qty=8.
But, finally they will do the GRN for sales order qty only, remaining will be used for testing purpose.
So, the confirmation also has to happen for only sales order qty. There, we need to control the qty based on the sales order.
Is there any exit or Enhancement is available for this.
    Please help me.
    Naren

    Hi,
Exit for confirmation check is CONFPP04.
However, opening orders for quantities higher than demand and leaving pieces undelivered and unconfirmed in production orders does not make sense. I could not get the requirement of incresing production quantity by adding rounding value? Moreover, if rounding is to be used for test purposes, why not do you receive them into stock? Why don't you receive 8 pieces into stock, deliver 3 pieces to sales order and transfer 5 pieces to related department?
If it is because of MRP and you really do not want to produce extra 5 piece immediately, you may use material reservation or any other form of demand for 5 pieces, use EX for lot size calculation and have MRP create two planned orders for sales order and testing requirement, then you can convert planned order for sales order requirement into production order and continue processing.
    Regards.

  • FiX lot size & minimum sale order qty .

    hi all
We maintained minimum order quantity  for material ; can we put massage sale oraganization wise
ie for SO IN01 Massage type is 'E"
    & for IN02 massage type is 'W"
If my minimum order qty. is 10 then SAP will accept the sale order qty. with multiple of 10 .
Eg. If customer placed order qty. 15 Nos. Dose SAP convert  it into 20 automatically ?
PL. suggest me how to configure this scnerio

    Hello,
Min sales order qty is controlled through MMR Sales Org 1 - if you want it to round up or down to the correct order quantity then you will need to create a rounding profile (see below).
Otherwise to change your message from a info or warning to an error goto transaction OVAH message V4 082 and change to E = error.
    Rounding Profile
Key that the system uses to adjust the order proposal quantity to deliverable units.
    Procedure
In Customizing, enter a threshold value from which the system should round up to the next value per deliverable unit:
If the requirements value exceeds the first threshold value, the system always rounds up to the next multiple of the level found
If the requirements value falls below the first threshold value, the system copies the original requirements value.
Two other types of rounding exist:
    Dynamic rounding profile:
These profiles are used to round up quantities to logistical units of measure (for example, layers). The contents of a logistical unit of measure does not have to be know when creating the rounding profile. It is determined by the master data from the material master.
Rounding profile with quantity to be added/subtracted
With these profiles, the given quantity is changed either by adding a percentage or subtracting a percentage.
Only static rounding profiles are taken into account in requirements planning. Neither dynamic rounding profiles not quantity addition/ subtraction are taken into account.
    Examples
A material's base unit of measure is 1 unit; the purchase order is to be delivered in layers (1 layer corresponds to 5 units) or in pallets (1 pallet corresponds to 8 layers which contains 40 units).
You maintain the profile as follows:
From a requirements of 2 units, the system is to round up to 5; from a requirement of 32 units, the system is to round up to 40.
This results in the following order proposal quantities:
    Requirement from 1 -> 1 requirement from 31 -> 30
    Requirement from 2 -> 5 requirement from 32 -> 40
    Requirement from 6 -> 10 requirement from 74 -> 80
    Requirement from 7 -> 10
    Dependencies
If no rounding profile has been entered, the system uses the rounding value entered in the material master record for the planning run
    Kind regards
    Sue

  • Purchase Order qty changed from 10 to zero, system takes as one

    Hi experts,
SRM 7.0 EHP2 without EP. PO is created with 10 line items and qty of each line item is greater than zero. The qty of one line item is changed to zero and clicked/saved. The system takes the qty as one inspite of original qty more than one changed to zero.
    Thanks
    Vijay

    Hi,
Standard behaviour shouldn't allow to choose zero as quantity, when you enter a zero quantity for a line item, when you choose check / order, system throws a error message by asking please enter quantity.
Coming to rounding of to '1', it depends on UOM decimal place's setup in SRM for that particular unit of measure.
You can verify this in CUIN > choose UOM > choose details> check the field decimal place's. By standard it will be zero, so when you choose any decimal place less then 1, it will automatically becomes '1'.
You can change this by entering some decimal place's to be considered before rounding off, so that system allows to create fractional value between 0 to 1.

  • Minimum Order Qty on Info Record for MRP

    Hello All -
I have maintained an info record for a material with a minimum order qty.  When MRP runs and generates the planned order/purchase requisition, it is not taking into account the min order qty on the PIR.  Is there some additional set up that I need to do?  I have a source list set up with a 1 under MRP relevant.  Thanks!
    Jane

I also tested and SAP didn't consider minimum order quantity that is maintained in info record (EINE-MINBM), but w/o success... minimum lot size (MARC-BSTMI) maintained in material master is considered.
I assume Charlie is right and minimum order quantity is valid in case of purchase orders:
    http://help.sap.com/erp2005_ehp_04/helpdata/EN/67/c50d38c5a5c82ee10000009b38f842/frameset.htm
You can use this function to round off order quantities in POs and contract release orders.
If you enter a minimum order quantity in the purchasing info record, the PO quantity will be rounded up to the desired minimum quantity after evaluation of the rounding profile where appropriate.
(based on this I think order optimizing is valid for POs)
So, whether you use the mentioned minimum lot size and rounding profile fields in material master (suggested by Charlie) or you can maintain rounding profile in the purchasing info record and thus you can have vendor specific minimum lot size.

  • Order qty by alternate unit of measures

    Hi All,
In casting senario I want to map follwing.
I have created a material having UOM as "g"  i.e. grams and maintained a conversion factor in alternate unit of measure to convert it to "MM" i.e. milimeters. I have also maintained alternate unit of measure in work scheduling view. Now when I create the order its in MM which is correct but I want to restrict order qty to 500 mm.
Means if the requirement is generated for say 650 mm length then order qty should be 2 having 500 mm length each.
How do i do this? Please advise.
    Regards,
    UG

    Dear ,
You can achieve the same by keeping Fixed Lot Size FX  and keep the quantity as 500 in the same UOM at material master level -MM02. in MRP1
Or if you want that 500 mm  is your Maximum Order Qty , then you can mention the same in Maximum Lot Size  field in MRP1
    Try and revert back

  • Rounding Profile for Material Staging

    To All
Is it possible to use a rounding profile for materials used in material staging transaction LP12?
Currently it totals production order demands. e.g.
    Prod Order 1000000
    Material A
    Requirement 0.6kg
    Prod Order 1000001
    Material A
    Requirement 0.7kg
So quantity to be staged to the PSA is shown as 1.3kg.
I know I can manually overide the quantity and enter 2 kg and process. However, how can I get LP12 to 'round up' the total quantity so that the screen diplays 2 kg to process instead of manually entering it?
Do I use the Rounding Profile in MRP1?

Rounding Profile is used to define the quantity of the planned orders during MRP run. It's not related to staging.
I wonder if you can use some different strategy in the control cycle : "2" crate parts and this can solve your issue...
But if you can work wtih cummulative quantities from released order, there is no solution in the standard.
Another option to explore is the HU (handling units) .

  • RBA - use of rounding profile/settings during Interchangebility

    Hi,
We are using the product-location interchangebility dung RBA ATP check at the time when PR's get converted into PO's.
Rounding profile/value of predecessor product is different than that of successor product. We want both the values to be considered while system perform ATP check through Rules maintained at location level.
The illustration of the same is -
Product A has rounding profile/value = 54, it has stock of 30 at location L1
Product B has rounding profile/value = 84, it has stock of 100 at location L1.
PR of quantity 54 is been created at location L1 for product A. We confirm this PR into PO & during this time, ATP check is performed for product A@L1. As it has not sufficient stock, product A is been replaced by product B (the substitution is maintained in RBA). But, in our case, the PR of 54 is getting created for product B wherein it should get created for 84 as rounding profile/value = 84 is maintained for product B@L1.
Can anyone come across the same problem?
Your inputs on the same are highly appreciated...
Thanks for looking into the issue.
    Rgds
    Jay

Data is always maintained on an article, sales organization and distribution channel basis. It can be made customer-specific through the creation of customer-article information.
You have the following control options:
    1. <u>Customer master</u>
You can deactivate rounding at customer level for each distribution chain by deselecting an indicator.
    2. <u>Item category in Customizing</u>
In Customizing for sales documents, you use an indicator for each item category to switch the rounding function on or off.
    3. <u>Article master / customer-article information</u>
Minimum quantity (Minimum order quantity or Minimum delivery quantity field)
Maximum quantity (Max. delivery quantity field)
Delivery unit (two fields for Delivery unit)
The delivery unit comprises an increment and a unit of measure. If you define an increment, the system rounds off the delivery quantity so that it can be divided into whole numbers by the increment.
You only have to enter a unit of measure for the increment if the unit of measure is not the base unit of measure. Otherwise, the increment refers to the base unit of measure.
    Rounding profile (Rounding profile field)
Unit of measure group (Unit of measure group field)
    Variable sales unit

    Hi ,
If the order qty is 44,  operation qty should become  3 because 21 + 21  = 42 and one more 21 should come into picture.
Currently it is becoming 2 and this is wrong.
Increasing decimal place will  not hep.
