Route CTR-Out to RTSI

Hi everybody!
My Project: control synchronous motor
To control a synchronous motor, I need 6PWM signals
3 for the highside as well as 3 for the lowside. For the application I use a PCI6602-Card.
At the moment I generate a main clock (Counter 7) to synchronize. It starts the highside, which triggers the lowside.
I routed the gates of the highside to GATE0. I connect CTR-OUT7 and GATE0 by a wire. I think its better to route it internal!
The programming occurs in C (MATLAB/SIMULINK) at register level for xPC Target. In the manual I couldn't find any information concerning this. I know how to route a Gate to RTSI, but I don't know how to route a OUT-Signal to RTSI. Is there any way to do this in the INPUT_SELECT_REGISTER?
Thanks a lot!
René!

Hello rhenrich,
i think the information is included in the NI Measurement Hardware DDK (Driver Development Kit)
There is also a thread setting 6602 registers to latch encoder values on RTSI trigger
I hope the infomarmation helps you

  • Route a signal to RTSI when AO starts output

I would like to route a signal to RTSI when AO starts output using "Route signal.vi".
Now I choose the signal source as "AO update" so that a series of TTL signals are routed to RTSI.
If I would like only to route a signal to RTSI when AO starts output, what option of signal source should I choose??
    Thank you for you help!!

I will answer you question assuming you have an E Series Board.
The signal that should be routed to the RTSI line is the PFI6/WFTRIG signal. That is AO Start Trigger in the signal source and RTSI line in the signal name of the "Route signal.vi". You can find an explanation of the signal in the E Series User Manual, whose link is: http://digital.ni.com/manuals.nsf/websearch/CA6CAEC450BD7E3786256721007D6A30?OpenDocument&node=132100_US

  • Temporarily routing System.out and System.err to a String

    Hi everybody,
Does anyone know of a way to temporarily route System.out and System.err directly from the console into a String, then set it back to its default to the console? I know how to reroute to a text area:
    TextAreaOutputStream taos = new TextAreaOutputStream(yourTextArea);
    PrintStream ps = new PrintStream(taos);
    System.setErr(ps);
System.setOut(ps); But it doesn't seem like there is either a way to reroute to a String or a way to switch back to the default routing afterward. Can anyone give me some advice on how to do this, please?
    Thanks,

  • Wireless Router cuts out at the same time every day.

I'm having an issue with my WRT160N router.  I'm noticing that my internet connection cuts out for about 5 minutes every day in between 5:30-7:30 pm.  Without fail, every single day, I can count on it going out for about 5 minutes during this time.  The desktop, which is wired, remains working during this time.  I'm at my wits end here, since I'm an online student, and this is my best time to schedule quizzes and exams.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks.

    Is your network is secured?
If the network is not secured than put some security on the router or else if the network is already secured then try to increase the security level by WPA or WPA2.
Also change the network name to some unique name.
Open an Internet Explorer browser page on your wired computer(desktop). In the address bar type - 192.168.1.1 and press Enter...Leave Username blank & in Password use admin in lower case...
    Click on the Wireless tab
    - Here select manual configuration...Wireless Network mode should be mixed...
    - Provide a unique name in the Wireless Network Name (SSID) box.
    Click on Advanced Wireless Settings
Change the Beacon Interval to 75 >>Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2304, Change the RTS Threshold to 2304 >>Click on "Save Settings"...
    For Wireless Security : -
Click on the Sub tab under Wireless > Wireless Security...
Change the Wireless security mode to WPA, For Encryption, select TKIP...For Passphrase input your desired WPA Key.
NOTE : Passphrase should be more that 8 characters...

  • How To Use Your Own Router with Out Loosing Verizon's FIOS Services

How to use your own router with Verizon’s FIOS Service
First, you need a basic understanding of how FIOS works but unfortunately there are two types of FIOS systems out there. All of the systems utilize a fiber optic cable to bring TV, phone and internet to your location over one optic cable. In addition these systems provide interactivity including widgets, remote DVR, movies on demand and so forth via an IP (Internet Protocol) signal.  Your STB (Set Tip Box) requires both a video and IP signal. The IP signal is necessary for all of the aforementioned interactivity.  The fiber cable terminates at the Optical Network Terminal or ONT for short.  The ONT converts the optics into a digital signal that can be utilized by ones equipment.  From the ONT your video, phone and internet are provided to the location.  This is where things can differ as the internet signal can be provided via a coaxial (MoCA or Multimedia over Coax Alliance) or RJ45 Cat5 (Ethernet) cable.  It is important to identify and understand the differences of these two setups.  In my case I have my internet entering via Ethernet cable, which in my humble opinion makes things a heck of a lot easier.
How does one tell the difference? In most cases it’s rather simple; just look at the Verizon’s router WAN (Wide Area Network) Port.  Does it have a RJ45 (Ethernet) or Coax (TV cable Cord) going to it? If the router’s WAN port doesn’t have a coaxial connector then one will need to convert the MoCA signal into a usable Ethernet signal that routers understand. The easiest way is to use Verizon’s router as a bridge. In this method the Verizon’s router simply converts the signal and passes it along to your own router. The challenge is to try to maintain the interactivity that FIOS TV provides. Because of this one needs to supply the IP routed signal back to the FIOS router.  There are multiple methods for doing this and I would recommend investigates which one make the most sense.
In my particular case the IP signal was provided by Ethernet.  Again there are various ways of installing one’s own router. The hardest is to utilize Verizon’s router as a bridge.  This setup requires configuring Verizon’s router as a bridge and also creating a VLAN (Virtual Local Area Networks). In addition one needs to set up their own router so it will work with the various routing tables and networks. For me this is too complex for the average person and it can be difficult to trouble shoot if something goes wrong. Please consider that Verizon will not support utilizing third party routers.
The easier method is to request an Ethernet signal (if you don’t already have one) from their ONT.  I would highly recommend getting your hands on a NIM or Network Interface Module. This device is used to convert Ethernet to Coaxial so it can be fed back to your STBs.  These can be purchased online and Verizon technicians can be a valuable resource with these sorts of acquisition.  At the very least they can point you to the right direction.  Once you have a NIM the rest is rather simple.
Log into the current Verizon Router.
Located the router’s MAC address and copy it down.
Go to the port forwarding section and copy down the Applied Rules.
    Example:
    Network Computer/Device: 192.168.1.100:63145
Application & Ports Forward:  Application UDP Any -> 6347
Note: There may be up to three entries for each one of your Set Top Boxes.
Look at your current device list, typically found on the home screen. Copy down your STB MAC and IP address.
    Example:
    IP-STB1
    Connection Type: Ethernet
    * IP Address: 192.168.1.100
    IP Address Allocation: DHCP
    *MAC Address:                07:73:fFe:ad:8b:3f
    * Things you will need to write down
Go to the network section and look for the main Ethernet connection.  Select this and then select more setting, typically found at the bottom. Release the current lease.
    Remove the Verizon router
    Install your router
Connect the NIM by plugging in an Ethernet from one of the routers LAN (Local Area Network) ports to your NIM. Then connect the coax cable, the same cable that was used by Verizon router.
Set you DHCP routing IP pool to accommodate Verizon’s STB IP’s  (note their IP’s start at 192.168.1.100)
Go to DHCP section and reserve the STB IP’s by inserting the IP’s and MAC addresses. This shall ensure that nothing else utilizes the same IPs as the STBs thereby preventing IP address conflict.
Add the port forwards from Step 5 above.
Clone Verizon’s Mac Address utilizing the info from step 2
Finish setting up the router in typical fashion.
Unplug and re-plugin your STB’s and test functionality.  It’s best to try using a widget or Movie on demand function.
Note: if the new router can net get an internet signal contact Verizon’s support and have them release the IP and reset the ONT.
EVERYTHING should be working at this point.

3 Go to the port forwarding section and copy down the Applied Rules.
    Example:
    Network Computer/Device: 192.168.1.100:63145
Application & Ports Forward:  Application UDP Any -> 6347
Note: There may be up to three entries for each one of your Set Top Boxes.G
Your display obviously is not like mine as mine does not dosplay the port associated with the ip address
whatever, the STB's start at 192.168.1.100 and icement by 1 for each
the port addr's will be 63145 alo incrementing by 1
there is 1 entry for each in my pf list
however each ip addr also has a port entry starting at 35000 also incrementing by 1 for each ip addr
For some unknow reason these are duplicated e.g I appear to have 11 entries exaactly the same for each stb and as the fios services rules have no action switc there is nowhere to delete the extraneous garbage.
Why do you clone the mac addr??

  • Does a router "cancel out" OS X Firewall?

I'm using a Wireless Belkin router with a Mac Pro running 10.7 on one partition, Snow Leopard on another. I don't have wireless operating all the time; for 98% of the time, I use it as a wired router with the MP..ocaisionally we use wireless.
In a discussion elsewhere, it was stated that the router basically renders the OS X firewall (and "stealth mode" and "block incoming") useless, and that it is the router on which you're relying for all security between the wild and wooly web and your Mac.
    Is this the case?

Some of them have a firewall, some don't.
But what I am getting from you, etresoft, is that my enabling the OS X firewall, along with "Stealth" and "Block incoming" provides protection to me independent of, and not weakened by, the router. Is this what you're saying?
That is correct. No "weakening" is going on. It is just that as long as you are behind the NAT with the router, you are only protecting yourself against threats inside your own house. Nothing on the other side of the router would ever reach you. If, however, you take your machine to some coffee shop or wacky university that hands out public IP addresses, you may want that firewall.

  • Routing audio out of logic

I have just purchased a Korg Monotron and am trying to send sound out from Logic into the Monotron, and then filter the audio in the Monotron and record this back into Logic, however I have a problem.
The audio I want to send out of Logic is routed to the only 2 outputs '1 & 2' on my Edirol UA-25 interface.
I take a mono output from one of these outputs on the rear of the interface, and feed this into the Monotron headphone socket.
The issue is that when the sound is fed back into Logic, I can't hear the filtering effects because it is drowned out by the audio track I am sending out.
How can I mute the sound of the outputted audio so that I can only hear the subtleties of the filtering effect in Logic.
Can anyone explain a workaround for this.
I have tried to set up an aggregate device (can I record audio from my iMac instead?) and use the I/O plug in but with no success- any suggestions welcome!
    Cheers,
    Mr Rock

Sorry- that was a typo- I take the output from Logic into the aux-in of the Monotron and then feed the output from the headhone out of the Monotron.
The issue is I cannot just hear the subtlety of the filtered Monotron signal back in Logic as the Logic output is playing at the same time.
    Any solutions appreciated!

    Any advice welcome!

    Hi Dat Stream Studio,
    This sounds very promising!
Can you please confirm when in 'Audio Midi Setup', do I go to 'Audio Devices'.
If I select 'Audio Devices' then I have two setting- 'Default Output' and 'System Outputs'.
At present both are set to 'Edirol'.
Can you please suggest which ones I need to configure as 'Mac Internal'.
When this has been set up is all sound outputted through 'Mac internal' audio, and do I connect a lead from the iMac headphone socket into the Monotron?
To get sound back into Logic, should I connect the Monotron into say Input 1 on the Edirol, and then set up an audio track with the 'I/O' plug in set to audio 'Input 1 (and leave the 'output' blank)?
I look forward to your response.

  • Routing start trigger to RTSI/PFI (NI-6110)

We've got a customer who is trying to route a start trigger to a PFI or RTSI line.  He is not using LabVIEW as can be seen below and is using traditional NI-DAQ.  Can you please confirm if it is possible to do using the NI-6110 and traditional NI-DAQ.  I've included his email as well which contains the relevant information.
"As explained I use 2 Ni6110 cards at Wits. These cards are synchronized via a rtsi cable and operate in pre-trigger mode based on an analogue trigger on channel 1 of the master card.
Everything works well, but I need to be notified via a digital line (or RTSI line) when the trigger condition is met. At present because of the stop trigger method of configuring the card, I get notifed when the stop trigger condition occurs. This is obviously too late in the process.
The following relevant commands are used:
    DAQ_StopTrigger_Config(NiDev1,1,PostTriggerPoints*NoofChannels);
    Configure_HW_Analog_Trigger(NiDev1,ND_ON,LowValue,HighValue,TrigMode,TriggerChannel-1);
    Select_Signal(NiDev1,ND_IN_STOP_TRIGGER,ND_PFI_0,ND_LOW_TO_HIGH);
//The following line is used to get the second card to be synchronized with the first card
    Select_Signal(NiDev1,ND_RTSI_1,ND_IN_STOP_TRIGGER,ND_LOW_TO_HIGH);
    On the second card:
    DAQ_StopTrigger_Config(NiDev2,1,PostTriggerPoints*NoofChannels);
    Select_Signal(NiDev2,ND_IN_STOP_TRIGGER,ND_RTSI_1,ND_LOW_TO_HIGH);
How can I be notifed of the start trigger condition?
I thought that something like the following could work, but I have not verified it. I need the signal to be available on a 6224 M Card:
    Select_Signal(NiDev1,ND_RTSI_1,ND_IN_START_TRIGGER,ND_LOW_TO_HIGH);"
    Thanks for your help.

I looked at the Device Routes and the Device Pinouts in MAX and
found that you are not able to route any of the digital lines on port 0
to the RTSI lines, only those that are directly linked to the PFI
lines. The counter lines are all directly routed to the PFI lines. In
the Device Pinouts chart it shows that the digital lines on ports 1 and
2 are directly routed to the PFI lines. Please refer to that chart and
then you can use the DAQmx Connect Terminal VI for simple easy signal routing.
To see the Device Routes in MAX: Select your device and then select the tab at the bottom titled Device Routes. Green means you can use the DAQmx Connect Terminal VI. To see the Device Pinouts in MAX: Select your device and then press the button at the top labled Device Pinouts. You can also right click on your device and it is listed there.

  • Router Timing Out?

    Hello.
I posted a related query few weeks ago about my failure to open the vast majority of web pages.
I’m using a dual processor (Intel) iMac running OS 10.4.9 (updated with the latest combo update, and permissions verified and repaired) and accessing the internet via a Netgear DG632 Router connected through the Ethernet port. The firmware of the Router is updated to the latest version.
When I ran a software update check, it confirmed there were updates to install, but when I attempted to proceed, my connection timed out.
Network Diagnostics on the iMac confirm I am connected to the internet.
I can access the Router through my browser, check the settings, but despite it telling me I am connected, I cannot view the Netgear home page as confirmation that my connection is OK.
I can, however, view Google, perform searches, view Google Maps, view Google Earth - I even downloaded an updated version of Google Earth.
However, practically every other web page (www.bbc.co.uk, as one example) I attempt to view fails to load. The iMac doesn’t crash or freeze and I don’t get a warning telling me the page cannot be found. It simply can’t complete the opening procedure.
Presumably this is all a problem related to this 'timing out'? Yet the timeout value is set at 0 minutes in the Router settings.
    Any ideas?

    Hi ActionBaby,
I see from these Pics (Which are for AIM Talk only in this case) that this device has a WAN page that might be similar to the DG834
(The port Forward site this link goes to suggests that this device does not have UPnP and does not have enough spaces to open the required 29 ports for iChat, not that this is a particular issue in this thread)
However in the WAN page disable any SPI or DOS setting by ticking it as this may be blocking large amounts of data coming to you.
Sites like the BBC have lots of content that is more than just text and maybe this is an issue.
The site I have linked to may not be the most up-to-date version of the the Firmware and you may in fact have more port entries available or UPnP as a way around any issue this poses.

  • Router goes out when a cell phone connects via wifi

I have the Westel 9100em router. Whenever I or someone connects to the router with a cellphone the router will stop working. No internet access on cellphones or computers until the router is restarted.
It is using WPA and TPIK.
I have no problems connecting with a laptop or ps3 wirelessly. But if a cellphone tries to connect this problem happens.
I doubt it is my cellphone. As I have had the same problem with multiple people trying to connect with different cellphones
    Any solutions? Thanks

change the wireless signal.  you can do that in the router.   open a browser, and go to http://192.168.1.1
user name is admin.  and the password is most likely the serial number found on the service tag of your VZ router unless you changed it. Once you login succesfully, go to the top and hit wireless, then on the left basic security.   then go to option 3 which is channel  1, 6 and 11 and are the only channels you should try.
So it will likely be set to auto, change it to 11 and put the check for keep settings even after reboot (Directly under the channel) and then hit apply.  after you hit apply,  test your connection out, if you notice a difference, leave it like that until the problem happens again, and if it happens again, go back into the router, and try channel 6,     test it out.  and then finally 1 if the first two don't work.
Also take a look at page 2 of Actiontec's Wireless PDF File.  It gives you some idea's with regards to position and orientation of where the router sits and how it can best be positioned for maximum coverage.

q1) Not being able to set IP to the interface as shown above, I would believe it is really a switch port.  Is there anyway I can see what kind of port a interface is or can be ? (switch port, routed port etc ?)   or whether is it a L2 or L3 switch ?
q2) in that case, since the switch is already inside the router, how do i route L3 traffic out of the switch ?
Assuming fe0/1 on the router is the interface connected to external network.
and 2 workstations attached to the switch ports fe1/1 and and fe1/2, how can i set their gateway to point to fe0/1's IP ? Can fe0/1 to be connected to fe1/0 internally ?
    Regards,
    Noob

    Hi KOE SIZE JIE,
q1) I tried the no switchport command on the 16switch port module and it works. I can set an IP on the switch port. But according to Liam, it is a L2 switch, how come we can assign no switchport command ?
As Bilal pointed out, I was mistaken you can issue the "no switchport" for a L3 routed port on that specific module.
q2) it is said that on a L2 switch only 1 SVI can be connected (for management purpose only) and L2 switch is not able to do routing. With the L2 switch module inserted into the router, will the SVI be able to do routing then ?
I believe this goes back to what Bilal was saying about limited functionality on the EtherSwitch. I will have to play with one in GNS3 to give you a solid answer.
But I think what it is trying to say is... You cannot use SVI's for inter-vlan routing. You can only have a single SVI for management purposes.
q3)Liam, you mention earlier fa0/0 is pointing to some network. is fa0/0 in the same router as the 16 switchport module ?
ip route 10.10.10.0 255.255.255.0 192.168.1.254 -- this command seems to be saying to access the 10.10.10.0 network, please go to the next hop IP 192.168.1.254 (but again, you are setting this next hop IP on the current router interface itself) - did i get anything wrong ?
I have read back my post and this reads wrong.
When i showed you the code snippet, 192.168.1.254 would be the interface on the next hop router. Not the router you are issuing the ip route command on. You would also need an IP address on the router interface directly connected to the next hop router. I.E 192.168.1.253
You will not then receive that error. Sorry about that, my sloppy config without a diagram!
    HTHs,
    Liam

  • WRT54G v6 router cuts out

WRT54G v6 router suddenly cuts out several times each day, using it with wired connection on two computers. No problem when direct wired to the modem.  Is this router failing? How to fix it?
    Frank M.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Before taking a sledgehammer to it *smile*, I'd suggest resetting it to factory defaults (press the recessed "reset" button for about 30 seconds, and then release it), and then also power cycle it (pull the power cord for about 30 seconds, and then plug the power cord back in).  You'll have to log into the web GUI and re-enter your settings after this, since resetting the router will have changed all settings back to factory defaults.  But this may well help your router get back on track.
If this doesn't help, hold the sledgehammer for the moment, and report your results back here, please.

  • Linksys Router giving out same IP

Well, I recently bought a new Linksys 310N to replace an older model.
My question is why the IP on my PC and laptop are the same. I'm no expert, but I'm sure each IP address should be unique. When I changed the router IP, it would give the same one to my laptop and PC all over again.
I'm not sure if it's a huge problem or not, but I have noticed that my connection tends to die after awhile on this new router, which never occured on the older model. Maybe this is due to the same IP being used at once.
Any help on this issue is appreciated. If you need any additional information, please post it.

Thanks for the response guys. I still haven't figured it all out yet, but I'm still keeping at it.
When I disconnect from the router and just use my Clearwire with the computer or laptop alone, it gives me their own IP addresses. However, once i plug in the router to the Clearwire modem, it gives a different IP completely from the ones I mentioned earlier. This Ip appears on both comps for some reason. I'm still figuring it out.
    E.g:

These are from checking websites like "Whatismyip," ( they aren't my real IP, but just examples to make things clearer) but yes I'm finding it to be very odd. I think it may have something to do with me getting knocked off after using both for duration of time.

  • RG54GS router drop outs

Can anyone shed any light onto why this wireless router just  "goes off line" and requires a  power off and on to fix it. Am running the router supplying 5 computers all on wireless with a Lan printer setup and all running thru an IPcop server on ISDN with bigpond. Works great for  maybe a day or 2 then the wireless system just drops out. Resetting the modem solves the problem until next time. Which may be the same day or a day or  2 later.  I am not using the WAN port only LAN and all computers are running fixed IP addresses.
    Hope someone can help me

    Maybe firmware update?
