ROUTING: return driving directions defaults to true

Hi.
We use Oracle Spatial 10gR2 for routing Europe.
We solely use tables EDGE, NODE, PARTITION and neglect table SIGN_POST. When sending a request with return_driving_directions = "true" or the attribute not even set, I get the following exception:
<RoutingEngineException>
[REE-0108: SQLException caught while trying to call SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION.get_edge_info: [ORA-00904: "FROM_EDGE_ID":
ung&#65533;ltiger Bezeichner
ORA-06512: in "MDSYS.SDO_ROUTER_PARTITION", Zeile 1649
ORA-06512: in Zeile 1
</RoutingEngineException>
This obviously has to do with the empty SIGN_POST table. A simple return_driving_directions="false" in the request helps. Maybe ORACLE could change the default to be "false" in a later release???
Cheers
Sebastian

Database is good for handle large amount of data with fairly simple queries.
But SQL is not deigned to handle iterative/recursive analysis like network or graph analysis. These types of analyses usually are computation expensive. NDM java API is designed to conduct network analysis in the middle or client tiers in a generic way for network applications.
The NDM LOD(load-on-demand) Java API is the core API for network analysis. It contains many modeling features and analysis functions to make customization easier.
It provides network constraints to guide analysis w.r.t. business/application logic. It also supports user-defined cost calculators that models analysis preference/penalty. Application attributes can be defined as user data and associated with network elements (nodes/links) in network constraints or cost calculators. Most common network analysis functions are supported in the API so users can focus on their business logic/rules.
There is a PL/SQL API which is a set of java stored procedures based on NDM java in-memory API (to be deprecated). The PL/SQL API is limited (scalability and performance) by the JVM in Oracle database.

  • N95 driving directions don't work properly - not r...

I tried out my N95 with driving directions over the last weekend, driving nearly 500 miles, and I'm very disappointed. In excitement I tried a whole lot of routes and it got them almost all wrong.
I paid £45 for the service, and while the basic GPS works, the directions are virtually unusable.
(I'm not sure if this is a UK or international forum - my comments refer to UK)
Dozens of times I'd approach a roundabout, hoping to find out which exit to take, and it would say "At the next roundabout.... [silence]"
Even though I'd select the 'fastest' or 'shortest' route, it would ignore that, and chose only one. I couldn't rely on it.
It kept losing the signal, which I could understand for a multi-function device like this, but then wouldn't re-lock on to a signal. At one stage after losing a signal I drove over 25 miles without it finding a signal again, and I didn't realise it. I only knew it had lost the signal because I got lost.
It has a motorway option, which I chose, but it still took me to a toll road (the M6 Toll) even though I only wanted to go 3 miles and gave me no option to avoid tolls.
I had a Tom Tom before. It was stolen, and that's why I decided to buy an N95 when I needed a new phone. But the Tom Tom was a paragon of virtue compared to the N95.
There were newish roads (open for 6 months or a year) that weren't represented on the N95 map or driving directions. If I buy a fixed GPS off the shelf (like Tom Tom) I can understand that, but a road that's been open for 6 months (and under construction for 2 years) really ought to be represented on an chargeable online service like the N95. Surely they can be updated in days?
I signed up for the directions from the default service, but it didn't say who I was paying. My service provider (T-Mobile) says it wasn't them. They think it was Nokia. I wanted to get a receipt, but pressed the wrong button (it was a new phone, I wasn't familiar with it for chrissakes) and it assumed I didn't want a receipt. But until I get my credit card statement I won't know who I bought it from.
The N95 GPS works more or less as advertised, if you are prepared to stop when you lose the signal, but I feel cheated about the driving directions. Money down the drain. The biggest problem is that I'm now locked into an 18month contract. I don't reccommend the N95 for GPS.

if t-mobile have sold you it as a finished product, and charged you for the usage then i would personally be stomping down to the store and slapping it on the desk and saying something about "doesnt work, not fit for purpose"
I got mine from o2, its an 18 month contract but its only 35 a month, handset was free and no mention of the sat nav software.
If you subscribe from your handset, rather than prepay for a code (as im assuming t-mobile made you do) it allows you to pay for 1 day, 7 day, 30 days, 3 months, annual, 3 years. I think its a couple of quid for a month.
i used navicore with my n73, and once they release an update to use the internal gps, ill probbaly be installing my software on there. Its pretty cheap and very reliable, ive been using it for a year and its as good as any standalone unit (apart from less features).
but back to nokia maps, if you got to the smart2go website, it states its a beta on the title page, if tmobile have charged you for the service or sold you the phone under the pretense of having a fully working tried and tested sat nav product then i would say your within your rights to hand it back
however, try downloading the maps again, sometimes it corrects errors. If you find your still losing the signal, return your phone. most people dont have issues, and the few who have have found their units faulty.Message Edited by dawg on 08-May-200711:02 PM

File, Send link doesn’t open a new email. Running Firefox 11.0. Outlook 2010 is the Mailto default and the W7 default email program. On the About:config page, network.protocol-handler.external.mailto is set to regular font (not bold) “default Boolean true”.

I assume you have tried toggling the setting in Firefox between Outlook and, say, Gmail:
orange Firefox button ''or'' classic Tools menu > Options > Applications
In the search box, type or paste '''mailto''' and pause for the list to filter.
Change the setting and OK to save it, then return to the dialog, change back, and OK again.
You also might want to toggle the setting at the OS level between Microsoft Outlook and the native Windows Mail client in a similar fashion. In Windows XP you could use IE's Options dialog, Programs tab, for this, but I'm not sure in Windows 7.
Since one possibility is a problem in your Firefox settings (including the possibility of interfering add-ons), and another is a problem at the Windows level (e.g., Registry settings), it would be useful to try to identify which one it is. One quick way to distinguish is to create a new Firefox profile. It will start up with all factory settings. You can switch back to your existing profile after testing.
First, I recommend backing up your Firefox settings in case something goes wrong. See [https://support.mozilla.com/en-US/kb/Backing+up+your+information Backing up your information]. (You can copy your entire Firefox profile folder somewhere outside of the Mozilla folder.)
After closing Firefox, start up again in the Profile Manager as described in this article: [http://support.mozilla.com/kb/Managing+profiles Managing profiles].
With the new profile, can Firefox successfully create a message in Outlook?

  • Getting driving directions from Maps Application while on the move

Yesterday I was travelling on the highway and needed to get directions.
With assistance from my daughter (14 yrs and computer literate) we attempted the use of the Maps Application.
It was great when we could plug in the address we were headed to from the address book look up, but when we told it to "ROUTE" an error message popped up and said it was unable to complete the task because it couldn't connect to the network.
I had 5 bars of reception
    WiFi off
We also had this problem when she tried to use the YouTube application while moving on the highway.
Once we pulled over and stopped, we were able to get both the driving directions and watch the YouTube video without a problem.
Has anyone else had this problem? If I have 5 bars of reception for phone calls, shouldn't I be able to get directions on the run?
    Thanks!

    Oh.. okay cool.
    I didn't notice if I had "E".
    Thank you for your answer.
I will look at that next time to see. It is probably the reason.

  • Route Guest VLAN directly to the internet

All, I am wanting to create a guest SSID/VLAN that is redirected straight to the internet, without any access to our network? I know how to create a guest SSID/VLAN but dont know how to send all traffic on that VLAN directly to the internet? How would the client obtain a DHCP address if its on a VLAN seperate the network?

Here is how I set up our wireless guest vlan:
    1. I use 802.1x with PEAP to authenticate guests against a MS RADIUS server. Once successful, the AP allows guest to broadcast DHCP request.
    2. My router forward the DHCP request to DHCP server which assign IP and necessary options to guests, using IP helper-address command.
    3. My router has access-lists to prevent guests from accessing any corporate IP addresses (allowing only DHCP broadcasts)
    4. A route-map is configured on the default router on the guest vlan so that it will route all traffic sourced from that vlan out to the Internet. I use "set IP default next-hop xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx" to route the traffic directly to our proxy server or firewall.
This is not a very user-friendly setup on the client side, because I have to mannually configure guest laptops to do 802.1x w/ PEAP. Sometime it is a pain with work with so many different wireless cards/utilities.

  • Script error message when printing google maps driving direction into PDF

    My system; Win 7/ 64bits/IE 9 both 32 and 64 bits/Adobe Acrobats 10.1.1. Pro
Intial problems in printing web sites into PDF files has been resolved when I upgraded into 10.0.1 after having installed IE9.
However, with 10.1.1. version, I noticed that when I tried to convert google maps results for a driving direction (From A to B), script error message showed up and I could not convert it into PDF. I tried both IE 9 32bits and 64 bits version, but both failed to do it. Please fix the problem for the next updates.
    Thanks

You might try running CHKDSK on the disk to where you try to save the file. You might have a corrupted file directory or a damaged track on that disk. I urge you to backup what you can before trying this.

  • Printing Problem with Google and Yahoo Driving Directions using Safari

I am running Safari 4.0.2 on an iMac running Mac OS X 10.5.8. When I try to print Driving Directions from Google or Yahoo Maps, I see the text (and map) completely rendered in the print preview, but the print out does not include the text content for the Directions. The map is OK. Print out includes the lines and graphics from the Directions page but the text areas are blank. I am printing on an HP DJ 5500. MapQuest Driving Directions print out completely. But I can't get the text in the Directions section to print for Google or Yahoo even though it looks fine in the print preview. Has anyone had this issue? What can be done to resolve it?

    Hi,
running Safari 4.0.2 on an iMac running Mac OS X 10.5.8.
You need to update Safari. You should be running Safari 5.0.3
Click the Apple () menu (top left in your screen) then click: Software Update ...
And go to ~/Library/Preferences. Move the com.apple.print.PrintingPrefs.plist file to the Trash.
Restart your Mac after the update is installed.

  • Return of direct debits processing

    hello
I have a question about the process of return of direct debit.
In SAP release 6.0 you can do some customizing on return of direct debits. Some reason codes of returns can be set up and also the next step to do, like change the payment term, block the payment depending the reason code.
But there is also a Badi to be implemented.
My question is now, should I use the Badi also next to the customizing or is it enough with the customizing?
If yes which coding should I provide in the Badi? How should I describe the coding in technical terms, because development team needs this in the functional specification .
    Thanks and best regards
    Chris

Many of the larger legacy setups had some form of automatic file transfer from the bank location to the customer's systems - The bank's system guys should be able to tell you what capabilities they have or support - I have seen banks use 'kermit' to dial up the customer's system and transfer file; i might have seen ftp too, but not too sure now!! A file transfer method is usually preferred to tape/disk transfer, because of the time savings and avoidance of manual steps!!

  • 3rd party install Vista over XP, Return to factory default?

3rd party installed Vista over XP on a T60.  Is there a way to return to factory default through ThinkVantage?  Tried holding down ThinkVantage button at startup, but only gets me into Bios, no thinkvantage software.  Ideas?

    1. Make sure your Recovery Partition is still alive. This can be checked through Disk Management. If the partition is still alive, make it active and reboot. You can now get to ThinkVantage Rescue and Recovery
    2. If it fails, you need the Product Recovery Media. If you don't have one, you will need to get one form Lenovo Support.

  • How do I return to the default iTunes MiniPlayer view.

How do I return to the "default" iTunes MiniPlayer view. I'm stuck in the MiniPlayer "album art" view. I can switch out of Miniplayer but I ca't revert back to the "Player Control" view that hides the album art. Thanks in advance-

Doesn't work. It results in a black square where the artwork used to be and a mini square next to the controls. I want the miniplayer to be mini....takes up too much real estate on the screen with the open area for the artwork. And moving the corner in reduces everything, not just the black area.

  • Returns of Direct Ship (TAS) Items

    Hi Experts,
How are returns of Direct Ship(3rd Party) TAS items handled in SAP. What is the standard process ?
    1. If items are returned to Vendor, how is it all mapped ?
    2. If items are returned to us, how will we take them and return it back to vendor ?
    Thanks !!

    Hi,
Refer the SAP notes 751609 - Returns for third-party process (cancellation).
Per SAP this functionality is missing. If reversal has to happen, then it should be carried out in Sales and purchasing seperately.
    Following are the details of this note;
    Summary
    Symptom
There are several documents for a third-party process or individual purchase order process that is, a purchase order was created for a sales order (via a purchase requisition) and in addition, goods and/or invoice receipts may exist for this.
You cannot cancel this process by creating a cancellation third-party order or a cancellation individual purchase order with reference to the original sales order.
You also cannot set up a return process that links customer and vendor return documents (for example: returns order and corresponding credit memos) with each other.
    Other terms
Sales order, purchase requisition, PReq, individual purchase order, individual purchase order item, TAB, third-party order, third-party order item, TAS, SD order, cancellation, cancellations, returns
    Reason and Prerequisites
This function is missing. The above scenario is not designed in the SAP Standard System.
    Solution
The documents in question must be undone individually by cancellation postings or returns must be created and posted separately on purchase order and sales order side.
An enhancement of the functions is not planned at the moment in the SAP Standard System. If you want to create a development request, consider Note 11.
    Regards,

  • How do I return to my default profile

I created a new profile to try to fix a problem with saving passwords. It fixed the problem for about a week and now it is back to the same thing. During the week, since it was working, I chose to check the box "do not show" so now I cannot return to my "default" profile. Is there a way of getting that default profile back because I need my old bookmarks.

You already may have set all choices to their default values.
The "Use custom settings for history" setting allows to see the current history and cookie settings, but selecting that setting doesn't make changes to history and cookie settings.<br />
Firefox shows the "Use custom settings for history" selection as an indication that at least one of the history and cookie settings is not the default to make you aware that changes were made.<br />
If all History settings are default then the custom settings are hidden and you see "Firefox will: (Never) Remember History".<br />
