im stop the services and open rpd in offline mode and make some changes and save and close
start services and in analytics the values are not modified
i cant open in online mode
my server in linux and im using client
rpd is located in clientside
it not copied into sever just in em add the rpd and catalog

Yes, after working on your repository Offline you need to deploy it through EM otherwise you won't be able to see the changes in Analytics. When you say the name changes, I'm unsure as to what you're trying to say. Yes, the new repository will be saved to the repository folder on the server as a new version of the repository with a *.00n* tag after it where n depicts the iteration of the repository. As far as the Catalog is concerned, if you haven't made any changes to the Catalog, your Catalog should remain intact even after the deployment of the RPD.

Express 10g Install Hung at "Creating and starting services"

I'm running Win2003 Server trying to install 10g Express. It gets to the the step where it is saying "Creating and starting services for Oracle Database 10g Express Edition". It is stuck on this screen for at least a half hour as I'm writing this post. I believe on this box I've tried this before with the same result (it's been a little while).
Any advice? Does Express install in Win2003? Are there things I can check to make sure my previous attempt at installing Express isn't corrupting my current install attempt?

New Problem #2 - Listener Won't Start

But now my listener won't not start. After a lot of head scratching I guessed that the listener port 1521 might somehow be having a conflict with another program. I updated my listener.ora and tnsnames.ora to use port 6100 instead of 1521. I bounced my oracle services (through the Control Panel services manager) and this allowed my listener to start.
New Problem #3 - Can't Connect Using SqlPlus

You music etc should not be affected by problems with the iTunes program, nevertheless it is always a good idea to backup your data.
You haven't said if there was any error message when you tried to start iTunes. If there was one please give it in full.
Also check to see if QuickTime works, iTunes can not work without it. If QuickTime doesn't work, it has to be fixed before worrying about iTunes.
Then restart your PC and open your Task manger and select the Processes tab.
Try to start iTunes, does iTunes.exe appear on the processes tab? If so does it disappear again or remain although the programs does not open?

We are stopping and starting the services for daily backup. Is it advisable to stop and start services.
Because client wants to stop the services before taking the backup anf start the services after backup.
In this scenario, what services do we need to stop for backup process.

Our scenario is the below:
We have a daily back of BI folders and Loading data from ERP to 10g database.
We logged in with remote desktop user A from ABC system to BI system and We created a batch file to start and stop all the BI the services and scheduled this batch file using windows schedule tasks. These batch files will stop the BI services and after 30 minutes another batch file will load data into the database, after 2 hours start services batch file will start the BI services.
When we open the BI Dashboards in the morning, all the dashboards and reports are working fine. But when I login to BI system, OC4J windows is not visible and dashboards are not coming and when we check the logs, LOGs says OC4J is running.
Please suggest us the solution.

In System Preferences, I click on the LOCK icon, and it says AUTHENTICATING and starts spinning but nothing happens

I'm trying to make changes to System Preference, but I'm unable to do so because the LOCK icon will not unlock. It just keeps saying AUTHENTICATING and spinning and although I wait, it never stops authenticating. I am the ADMIN, so this is not a guest user issue.

Try booting into the Safe Mode using your normal account to see if you get the same thing. Disconnect all peripherals except those needed for the test. Shut down the computer and then power it back up after waiting 10 seconds. Immediately after hearing the startup chime, hold down the shift key and continue to hold it until the gray Apple icon and a progress bar appear and again when you log in. The boot up is significantly slower than normal. This will reset some caches, forces a directory check, and disables all startup and login items, among other things. When you reboot normally, the initial reboot may be slower than normal. If the system operates normally, there may be 3rd party applications which are causing a problem. Try deleting/disabling the third party applications after a restart by using the application un-installer. For each disable/delete, you will need to restart if you don’t do them all at once.

I'm a bit of a noob but this worked - I right-clicked iPhoto and chose the top option "iPhoto Library". I didn't note the message that appeared, but it was something like
telling me I needed to upgrade iPhoto Library for it to work with my new version of iPhoto
cautioned me that it could take a while, and
once I upgraded it couldn't revert back to an earlier version.
So - I asked it to upgrade, it did, and once it finished iPhoto opened and now works!
I suppose why we could wonder why it wasn't included or mentioned in the original iPhoto upgrade, but this was probably more character-forming...

When trying to print on my HP PSC 1510 printer i get the message: "makequeuesagent wants to make changes" and asks me to enter my password.
I have had this iMac and the printer since 2008 and the first time i have heard of "makequeuesagent".
If I click "cancel" my printjob continues without problems - but the message pops up again next time i want to print.
Should i worry about malware - or just enter my password to get rid of the message?

If you have been printing before and no recent OS X changes, then I would highly suspect a compromised printer or drive, or perhaps a permissions problem with your Mac.
What you should do is first run through these steps to eliminate the Mac as the problem, you could be having other issues that is causing this issue.

Then I would check with HP support page and see if your machine requires specialised drivers installed and/if it requires a update.
I would uninstall the HP software and reinstall it with the more recent version.
