현재 YEAR의 지정된 YEAR의 'RR' FORMAT결과
환경변수의 nls_date_format을 변경하여도 된다.
단, nls_date_format은 이후에 다른 사용자에 의해 변경되어질 수도 있으므로
application을 수정하는 것이 안전하다.
SQL> INSERT INTO EMP(empno, deptno, hiredate)
VALUES(9999, 20, TO_DATE('01-JAN-03', 'DD-MON-RR'));
1 row created.
SQL> INSERT INTO EMP(empno, deptno, hiredate)
VALUES(8888, 20, TO_DATE('01-JAN-67', 'DD-MON-RR'));
1 row created.
SQL> SELECT empno, deptno, TO_CHAR(hiredate, 'DD-MON-YYYY') hiredate
FROM EMP;
EMPNO DEPTNO HIREDATE
8888 20 01-JAN-1967
9999 20 01-JAN-2003

RR was introduced as a Y2K workaround for all those programs that didn't store the century. It has a fixed window - 50 to 99 defaults to twentieth century, 00 to 49 is twenty-first. YY on teh other hand just defaults to the current century. At least in 9.2 it does. I think in earlier version of the database it defaulted to 00 - hence many systems apparently have records that were created in the first century AD.

• Oracle 11g - Date Issue?

Oracle 11g - Date Issue?
=====================
I hope this is the right forum for this issue, if not let me, where to go.
We are using Oracle 11g (11.2.0.1.0) on (Platform : solaris[tm] oe (64-bit)), Sql Developer 3.0.04.
Our NLS_DATE_FORMAT = 'DD-MON-RR'
Using 'RR' in the format forces two-digit years less than or equal to 49 to be interpreted as years in the 21st century (2000–2049), and years 50 and over, as years in the 20th century (1950–1999). Setting the RR format as the default for all two-digit year entries allows you to become year-2000 compliant. For example:
We have a date '01-JUN-31' in our source system. It treat this date as 01-JUN-2031' instead of '01-JUN-1931'. One century forward.
Do we able to resolve using NLS_DATE_FORMAT change?
How do we resolve this issue?
Thanks in helping.

Our source is Oracle data base, where S_date is defined as DATE. Why did you say STRING , when it defined as DATE data type?I doubt you source is an Oracle database. You may have it stored in an Oracle database, but it cam form somewhere else, and was very likely inserted into the table as a string, wherever it came from. Given a string that resembles a date, Oracle will try to convert it to a date using the nls_date_format parameter for the session (which can either be set in the session or inherited form the database). Perhaps this will help explain:
SQL> create table t (conv_type varchar2(10), dt date);
Table created.
SQL> alter session set nls_date_format = 'dd-mon-rr';
Session altered.
SQL> insert into t values ('Implicit', '01-jun-31');
1 row created.
SQL> insert into t values ('Explicit', to_date('01-jun-1931', 'dd-mon-yyyy'));
1 row created.
SQL> commit;
Commit complete.
SQL> select conv_type, to_char(dt, 'dd-mon-yyyy') dt
2  from t;
CONV_TYPE  DT
Implicit   01-jun-2031
Explicit 01-jun-1931So, unless you are really inserting dates, not strings that look like dates, you are going to have problems.

• Oracle's data to foxpro

Can i take data from my oracle database to foxpro?
Is there any way through which we can convert .lst(oracle's data) file to .dbf(foxpro's data) file.
Actually i need to compare the data of two tables.....the first table is in oracle and the second is in foxpro.
Someone suggested to bring foxpro's data into oracle(using sql*loader)...but due to some reason ,i have to take oracle's data to foxpro and then compare it.
Please help.
Rajeev Katyal

Hi,
To load oracle data to foxpro, you need to first spool the data in a flat file.
Before spooling you need to issue some format command at sql prompt
Set echo off
set pagesize n < depending on record size>
Set linesize n < depending on no of columns>
set head off
set feedback off
set space 0
Spool <file name>
SELECT query
Spool off
Save the as *.txt
After creating the flat file go to foxpro command window and
Issue Foxpro Append Command and define File Type as SDF
.i.g. Append from <\PATH\file name.txt> Type SDF
Note : Please check the syntext for foxpro

• Do data modeler support ORACLE Secure Data Masking and Subsetting ?

How to use the security(Contains PII, Masking Type, ...) in conjunction with ORACLE Secure Data Masking and Subsetting. Is it possible to generate masking definitions for ORACLE Data Masking ?

Hi Philip,
it's a XML-format an looks like:

-<MASKING_DEFINITION PROD_VER="10.2.0.4.4" META_VER="1.0">
<DEFINITION_NAME>MASKING_DEF_1</DEFINITION_NAME>
<TARGET_NAME>orcl</TARGET_NAME>
<TARGET_TYPE>oracle_database</TARGET_TYPE>
<ADV_OPTION_DISABLE_LOGS>Y</ADV_OPTION_DISABLE_LOGS>
<ADV_OPTION_REFRESH_STATS>Y</ADV_OPTION_REFRESH_STATS>
<ADV_OPTION_DROP_TEMP_TABLES>Y</ADV_OPTION_DROP_TEMP_TABLES>
<PARALLEL_DEGREE>DEFAULT</PARALLEL_DEGREE>
<DM_FLAGS>15</DM_FLAGS>
MASKING_COLUMN>
<OWNER>OWNER</OWNER>

TABLE

<COLUMN>COLUMN</COLUMN>
<COLUMN_GROUP/> <FORMATS> <FORMAT> <RULE_ORDER>1</RULE_ORDER> -<RULE_CONDITION>
1=1
</RULE_CONDITION> -<FORMAT_ENTRY> <ORDER>1</ORDER> <TYPE>RS</TYPE> <START>1</START> <END>40</END> </FORMAT_ENTRY> </FORMAT> </FORMATS>
</MASKING_COLUMN>
</MASKING_DEFINITION>
This is a example from my local 11 g database control on our OEM 12 c it starts with:
MASKING_DEFINITION PROD_VER="12.1.0.4.0" META_VER="1.0">
Perfect would be if we can choose the type of masking "Redaction/Data Masking" in the preferences and the properties of "Masking Type" and "Mask Template" properties would match the choosed type of masking.(i assume they can be found somewhere in the SYSTEM data dictionary)
Besides the present properties there exists many others for "Data Masking Pack" like Start/End, ...
Complete support of Data Masking Pack over Data Modeler would be great, OEM is more a dba tool and on our site definition of security is a product-owner/designer responsibility.

• Fail to convert to internal representation: oracle.sql.DATE

I'm using the oracle 8.1.7 jdbc driver against oracle 8.1.7 running on NT, and I get the exception message below when I attempt to insert an jpub object structure into a prepared statement.
All date objects have been constructed from a timestamp object, using the oracle.sql.DATE Timestamp constructor. So I'm surprised to get this error given the timestamp object was successfully constructed.
I've tried session date formats of 'yyyy-mm-dd hh24:mi:ss' and 'mm/dd/yyyy hh24:mi:ss', with no success.
I can call stringValue on oracle.sql.DATE and it returns a valid date.
Can someone confirm that they have been able to use the oracle.sql.DATE class to insert a date correctly into the database? Its seems a silly question to ask but you have to start somewhere!
Exception : Fail to convert to internal representation: oracle.sql.DATE@3c144e8a

null

The JPub/JDBC runtime is converting your Java object into Oracle-specific representation (all data is put in oracle.sql.XXXX format). The top level object is an oracle.sql.STRUCT, the attributes of which are represented as an array of oracle.sql.Datum objects - in your case an oracle.sql.NUMBER and an oracle.sql.DATE. However, the error does occur in the StructDescriptor which describes the SQL type and the shape of the object. Is the error dependent on the data values? Might null values not be dealt with, correctly?
One thing to try to do is create such an oracle.sql.STRUCT object from scratch with the same attribute values and insert/manipulate that using SQL.
I have not dealt with TAR's. If you send me a self-contained test case, I'll check it against the current development version of JDBC. (At least you'll know if the next JDBC release fixes this issue :-) I might also file a bug.

• Problem in Exporting Crystal Report to MS-Excel 97-2000(data only)

I have developed a crystal report using VS 2008 which has 12 columns, my question is when i export the report to MS Excel 97-2000 (data only) the report gets exported completely but some columns header names are missing i mean out of 12 column header names only 6 are getting displayed, kindly help me out.
Thanks in advance
Ramakrishna Reddy

Hi Ramakrishna,
When you export any report in data only format, all the formatting which has been applied to report fields will be lost.
If you want the formatting as well then in export option check the box "Maintian object formatting".
Or else you can export to MS EXCEL 97-2000 which will maintain all the formatting.
Thank you
Sumit

Further to the above post, I thought I'd simplify my Apex Listener install just to see if I can connect to it via SQL Developer
So downloaded the latest version 2.0.8 and decided to configure and run the Listener on my pc whilst still connecting to the same database.
Operating system : Window 7 Pro 64 bit
Oracle Apex Listener 2.0.8
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.7.0_25-b17)
Java HotSpot(TM) 64-Bit Server VM (build 23.25-b01, mixed mode)
Went through the configuration as above, once started I tried again to access the listener via SQL Developer. This time I received this output from the listener:
INFO: Error: ORA-02291: integrity constraint (APEX_040200.WWV_FLOW_RT$APPROVALS_SGID_FK) violated - parent key not found, occurred during execution of: [CALL, insert into wwv_flow_rt$approvals (user_name,status,client_id,security_group_id,created_by,created_on,updated_by,updated_on) values(/*in:user_id*/?,/*in:status*/?,/*in:client_id*/?,/*in:tenant_id*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?,upper(/*in:user_id*/?),/*in:created*/?), [tenant_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [client_id, in, class java.math.BigInteger], [user_id, in, class java.lang.String], [status, in, class oracle.dbtools.rt.oauth.ApprovalRequest$Status], [created, in, class java.sql.Timestamp]]with values: [adminlistener, APPROVED, 3858401374580004, -1, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785, adminlistener, 2014-06-23 12:19:18.785]

• What is the role of Lns process in oracle 10g data guard

Hi ,
plz help me out to find out the actual working of lns process in oracle 10g data guard
when i use SYNC redo transport
the output of v$managed_stanbdy is like that ..
PROCESS PID STATUS CLIENT_PROCESS GR# SEQ#
ARCH 9258 CLOSING ARCH 2 498
ARCH 9260 CLOSING ARCH 1 499
ARCH 9262 CLOSING ARCH 2 496
ARCH 9264 CLOSING ARCH 1 497
LGWR 9206 CLOSING LGWR 2 482
its not display any info about lns,thats means lns is not working in SYNC redo transport mode ?
but if i changed it to ASYNC then the out put of v$managed_stanbdy is like this ..
PS PID STS CPS GR# SEQ#
ARCH 9258 CLOSING ARCH 1 509
ARCH 9260 CLOSING ARCH 2 510
ARCH 9262 CLOSING ARCH 1 505
ARCH 9264 CLOSING ARCH 2 508
LGWR 9206 CLOSING LGWR 1 503
LNS 10528 CLOSING LNS 2 510
Now it display all the info about lns process...
i read in oracle documentation that lns process send redo data from primary,( through network service ) to RFS on standby side.
but first output means that lns is not working,if not then which process send redo from primary to RFS on standby ?
i also read in some blog that lgwr use some extra buffer size from primary db SGA ,to write redo in that buffer ,ans lns read redo from that buffer and send it to RFS on stanby side,
i m totally confused ..can u plz help me with correct logic behind this .
thanx in advance.

Hello,
On the primary database when you run the v$managed_standby, it shows up the LNS process as this process sends redo info to the standby database and on the standby database the RFS process receives the redo information.
So on the primary database when you query the v$managed_standby, it shows up LNS and on the standby database when you query the v$managed_standby it shows up RFS. Please let us know where you are running the query.

• ADF View Object query to use Oracle LONG data type

Hi,
I'm using a view object that uses Oracle LONG data type.The following exception is thrown
*"java.sql.SQLException: Stream has already been closed"* and it is not fetching the correct data.
I have searched in many forums,they suggested to use LOB instead of LONG as LONG is deprecated. But in my case I can't avoid using LONG as some of my legacy applications using the same DB.
Please suggest me a way
Thanks in Advance

Thanks for your reply Arun,
I have solved this problem using the solution suggested by this blog [AskTom-Link|http://asktom.oracle.com/pls/asktom/f?p=100:11:0::::P11_QUESTION_ID:839298816582]
In the above blog link,they have suggested to convert Long to Varchar by functions and asked to use this function in the column.
Thank you all guys who have seen this post.

• Oracle 9i data mining algorithm

Does oracle 9i data mining provider decision tree and clusting algorithm?

yes, I know that DataMining is installed, but from what I know, it should be checked before the creation of the database.
for example I am performing the post installation steps:
Unlock the Data Mining Accounts
1. From a SQL*Plus session logged on as SYS, enter the following:
alter user odm account unlock;
alter user odm_mtr account unlock;
Start the Oracle Data Mining Task Monitor
1.From a SQL*Plus session, execute the following:
connect odm/[email protected]
exec odm_start_monitor
this gives me an error: odb_start_monitor not defined...
what should I do?
