Rtmp audio connection issues

Hello,
I'm a Flash Platform Developer currently working on a player 9 streaming audio app. We are using a 3rd party provider who is has FMS 3.5. We seem to be having issues with some users behind firewalls unable to connect. The log is showing a NetConnection.Connect.Failure NetStatus error when they attempt to connect to the stream. The FMS vendor says they are automatically switching from rtmp on port 80 to http tunneling on port 80 when trying to connect (they don't support ports 443 and 1935). Is there something I can do on the client side? I've read about multi port scanning, but doesn't that only apply to older versions of FMS that couldn't auto-switch. Also, when I force tunneling by using rtmpt I can get 30+ secs of delay before buffering. So even if tunneling works, the delay is unacceptable.
My client and I are perplexed because our users can see Pandora with no problem. Is there something our FMS vendor is missing that isn't getting around these firewall issues... or is it on my end? Since I don't have an FMS sitting next to me this is extremely hard to troubleshoot.
Any insights from those of you who do?
Thanks!
WL

There are Audio track types  Mono (one meter) Stereo (two smaller parallel meters) They can be changed using the small circle(s) at the bottom of the channel strip under the meter. It's self explanatory once you click on the circle.
The Inputs reflect your audio Interface.  I assume Input 1 is your Mic Input, Input 2 is your guitar input... If you use a stereo track you will probably see Input 1-2 which means both inputs are being monitored... If your guitar is plugged into Input 2 you will only hear one side.
My audio interface has 8 inputs so I if I'm choosing inputs for a stereo strip I see pairs.. 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8. If I choose inputs for a mono track I see 8 individual inputs. If I have in instrument plugged into channel 1 I will only hear sound if the inputs have 1-2, or 1. If it's a stereo track it will be on one side only.
And you have the pan adjustment.. pan left, pan right, pan center.

  • Audio connection issue

Seem to be having an audio connection problem.
When earbuds are plugged in I can hear instrumental part of music, but no voice unless I hold the connector a certain way. It's almost as if one audio channel isn't being heard??
Also, if I move my iPod Touch when plugged into my laptop through USB adapter it disconnects and reconnects until placed back on the desk. It's almost as if there is a connection problem with both inputs??? Anyone have similar issues?

Wohoo! -- I just solved the exact same problem.
Anyways: I could also pair to my headset, but nothing happened when I clicked the links. (I even tried to install Skype to see if that would enable the link, but that didn't help.)
This is what you should do: Disable the Bluetooth radio ("Turn adapter off"). Computer will hang for a while and report a dll hanging. Continue through the dialog box (in effect killing the DLL process).
Start the Bluetooth adapter again, and the links work. Use the VoIP link to use your headset for Lync, Skype, Hangouts or whatever.
Hope this helps. Please let me know if it works.
    Cheers,

  • Wireless Audio Connection Issues

I have a mid 2012 Macbook Pro with Retina display. When I try and connect to airplay speakers it takes a very very long time to connect if it connects at all, but if I repeatedly press the volume keys it connect quickly and works correctly. This also happens when I connect to a bluetooth speaker. I don't think this is a problem with the speakers as they work fine with my iPhone. I had this issue with older versions of OS X - I remember it with snow leopard on my old mac! I don't know whether anyone has any experience of this and has found a solution - any suggestions would be good! I feel I've done the obvious stuff - it's not a network issue, the speakers work fine with other devices etc.
    Thanks

Before you upgrade the firmware of your Router, try to make some changes on your router and check if that solves your problem or not.
Login to the router setup page and click on the Wireless tab and below change the "Radio Band to : Standard 20MHz" and change the Channel to 11-2.462GHz" and click on Save Settings... Then click on the Sub tab under Wireless "Advance Wireless Settings" and below Change the Beacon Interval to 50,Change the Fragmentation Threshold to 2201,Change the RTS Threshold to 2202 and Click on Save Settings...
Now see if you can locate your Wireless Network and attempt to connect...

  • Audio Interface Connection Issue

I have recently purchased Native-Instruments' Komplete Audio 6 for production use in Logic Pro 9 and I have been experiencing a connection issue. The USB connection light on the interface itself blinks whenever it is plugged in and my Mac Book Pro Retina cannot detect the device whatsoever. This means, I believe,  that it is receiving power. I have been able to connect the two devices for very short periods of time (maybe 5 minutes) before it disconnects and returns to a blinking pattern sending an error message that the interface returned -2. (Whatever that means)
I have contacted Native-Instruments directly about the issue and they only respond with "update your firmware to the latest version." This would be fine except that the interface has to be connected to run a firmware update. (If that even is the problem) I have also deleted and reinstalled the driver/firmware multiple times.
I have gone through and completed all of the NI's websites troubleshooting guide to no avail and am becoming desperate for answers.
Is there any input that could help me with this endeavor, or perhaps a troubleshoot that I have overlooked?
    thanks.

If you are connecting the Audio 6 (or any other USB2 Audio/Midi device for that matter) via USB to a USB3 port on your Mac.. (which I am assuming you are doing..) try using a Powered USB2 hub.. and connect the Live 6 to that and then connect the Hub to the USB3 port... Make sure you don't connect anything else to the hub.. so the Live 6 gets the max power from the hub...
Using a powered Hub with a USB2 device to connect to a USB3 port on a Mac or PC.. often helps out issues that are caused by the lower power that a USB3 port provides...
Its not a certain fix but often it works...
if it does work, you can then update the firmware which may alleviate the need for the powered hub.

  • My brand new mac pro always had Internet connection issues at school. WHY is that? I see the school's Internet working perfectly fine on other PC's, but there is never a day where my mac doesn't have Internet connection issues at school. How do I fix it?

I got my mac pro in the middle of August. School started the week after. Internet was working perfectly fine at home. But at school, I never had a good connection. Sometimes on the good days I get a connection when I'm sitting at the exact spot in class I always sit at. It's ridiculous and it's frustrating. I invested my money into this laptop and I'm beginning to regret it. I thought it was the school's Internet, but I don't see Internet issues with other PC users. It's most frustrating on registration days and I'm trying to register for my classes before it gets taken, but again... Internet connection issues. It's random. Majority of the time, it doesn't work at all. I've done Network Diagnosis and turning WiFi off then turning it on again. I've done everything I could. I put my money on this laptop and it was a lot of money. I could have bought an 800 dollars laptop and I would have Internet connection anywhere on campus. So, I don't want to continue everyday to regret on buying this laptop every time I try to connect to the Internet at school or Starbucks or anywhere else. How do I fix this? What's the problem ?
At school, I heard this guy had a problem with Internet connections too and he owned a new mac book pro. He said something like Apple messed up on something, but he fixed it. If I knew mac book pro's had these issues I wouldn't have bought it in the first place. It's freezing on me every other day. It's ridiculous. But what concerns me the most is the Internet connection. So someone please tell me what can I do next to prevent the problem? Am I doing something wrong maybe?

    Hi Kevin,
I'm using an XLR input mic which is connected to the phantom power enabled XLR mic socket on a USB M-Audio M-Track. The M-Track is connected by USB to the Mac Pro - so effectively I've got an M-Audio USB soundcard with a mic input.  I've also tried a microphone that is a straight XLR to USB cable (guessing with some soundcard chip buried in the usb plug) but that also yields the same effect of bad latency, intermittent quality, stuttering and repeating and echoing (without the speakers on during record so its not feedback).
The mic works absolutely fine with other recording applications I have on the mac at the moment - albeit non-adobe ones (tested it on the EasyAudioRecorder - and it lives up to its name. it's easy)
I will try with Audition and report back, but sitting here right now I can imagine it would work fine with audition too - it just seems to be the way premiere is set up for recording into the timeline is a bit sketchy.  I'm willing to accept it might well be a quirk with the new Mac Pro trashcan - I'm not weighting all the woes on premiere.
Any thoughts or am I out of luck to sit with my fingers crossed for a fix in the next round of updates?
    Nathan.

  • IChat video connection issue, not related to router

I received a brand new 20" iMac Core 2 Duo just yesterday and intended to use iChat AV to video conference with my girlfriend, who has a 12" iBook G4 1.2GHz with an iSight and all system software up-to-date.
We both have DSL connections at home. We also both have wireless routers. The very first time we tried a video conference, it worked perfectly without a hiccup and everything just looked and sounded wonderful. At the time, she was connected wirelessly and I was connected both wirelessly and through Ethernet to my router's local network.
The second time we tried it (only a few hours later), seemingly without having changed any settings, it failed to work, and hasn't worked since. At first, we would get Error -22, saying something about how bandwidth is insufficient to maintain a video conference. However, I do not believe bandwidth is the real issue since all other network/internet tasks on both ends are spiffy as usual. We also both tried turning off Airport and just connecting through Ethernet to our routers' local network. Same problem.
To then determine if the problem was with one our routers, we both set them aside and plugged our DSL modems directly into our computers and connected to the internet with PPPoE. This appears to partially fix the problem: we are able to initiate a video conference, we both have audio, I can see her, but she can't see me; sort of a one-sided conference. On my screen, the image of myself freezes as soon as the conference is initiated. So unless I'm missing something, the ultimate cause of this problem doesn't appear to be the routers.
You can bet I tried a bunch of the common tips mentioned in this discussion forum before posting this question, such as changing the iChat port in the preferences, turning off Firewalls in the Sharing preferences and changing Quicktime streaming speed.
In summary, it worked once and hasn't worked since, and routers do not appear to be the cause of the issue. Does anyone have any further advice for me? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.
    iMac 20" Intel Core 2 Duo 2.16GHz   Mac OS X (10.4.7)

First off I want to thank James for his willingness to help me test connections today. James has suggested I check into upping my Mother's connection. I will definitely look into that.
I wanted to update the thread that I tried the three test accounts at Apple (appleu3test01-3) and had success from all three on my home computer via my wireless configuration no less. This is what stumps me about my connection issues with my Mother - we can both connect to others but between us we get error -8's since iChat 3. I also find it odd that this is happening even though we are both Earthlink customers - I would chalk it up to routing tables or something if we were on different ISP's.

  • Does Apple TV and Optical Audio Connection work?

I've read several posts regarding this issue and I'm a little confused.  Does the Optical Audio work on the Apple TV (generation 3), because I haven't been able get it to work.  I get sound but no stereo/surround sound.  Yet, using the same connection out of my Receiver for my PS3 I do get stero/surround sound.  Have I missed a setting on the Apple TV?

Is there away I can check the Apple TV Optical Audio connection to see if it's working?  The physical connection seems to be fine.  Since the connection to A/V Reciever works, as confirmed by my PS3, I can only assume the Apple TV Optical Audio connection is faulty.  Other ideas on how I might validate if the Apple TV Optical Audio connection is truly "broken."

  • "Choppy" audio connection

    Howdy folks,
I've read the FAQs and the various other threads in this forum and I haven't been able to solve this problem of mine on my own. I apologise if I have missed something!
My girlfriend and I are trying to use an audio connection in iChat. Connecting to one another is not a problem, and the audio is typically crystal-clear and uninterrupted *at first*. Soon, however, it will cut out on my side (her side is more or less fine). Sometimes very briefly, sometimes for a second or two. Often it will happen once and be fine for ten seconds or so (never much longer than that, though); other times it will happen in rapid succession. The net effect is that it is difficult to carry a conversation with these interruptions. I'm hoping, however, that there is something I can do. Any ideas?
We are both running the version of iChat that came with Tiger. We also both have PowerBook G4s. My inet connection is to a university network via ethernet. My download and upload rates are, respectively: approximately 200 KB/sec and app. 45 KB/sec. My girlfriends inet connection is wireless with a download rate of app. 320 KB/sec and upload rate of app. 125 KB/sec.
    Thanks for your help!
    Charles Dobson

    Hello, Charles
My hightest recommendation: You should upgrade to 10.4.2. It corrects several issues (including iChat AV issues) that were problems in the previous versions of Tiger.
Try this and any other relevant suggestions from Help for iChat AV 3 Problems.
The testing and tutorial suggestions in Using iSight with iChat AV might also give you some trouble shooting ideas if you are still having difficulty after implementing the above suggestions.
Also, being at a university, you might try at different times of day to see whether busy network traffic is causing problems for you at certain times.
If necessary, you can even take your PowerBook to an off-campus network to help determine whether the problem is in your Mac no matter which network you use to connect.

  • Cient to FMS connectivity issues

We are having intermittent connectivity issues within our
environment. Firewall logs show that the clients are trying to
connect over port 1935 and that is it. We have 1935 blocked, as it
was my understanding that the client will then try and negotiate to
443 then 80. Is someone else having this issue

Can I ask the silly questions...
did you add port 80 and 443 into your fms.ini
Do u have IIS or any other service that is using ports 80 and

Can you connect directly to port 80 or 443 if u try ?

  • So frustrating that nobody knows why. Audio Sync issue.

I have an imovie project of old family footage that was ported over from VHS through a sony dcr pc120e mini dv cam straight through to intel imac via firewire. The imovie project is flawless and the sound is perfectly in sync. ive exported to idvd and when finished the audio is out of sync on the final disk. Now i have been reading about this issue and see that people blame idvd8 but it happens when i make a dvd with my imovie project using toast titanium 9 too. Surely if it plays perfectly as an imovie project there must be a way of transferring to dvd without audio sync issues. If anyone knows a solution or piece of software that will remedy this please please let me know as i have wasted about 12 dvds in various experiments.

    mogreen wrote:
camcorder on 16bit, i am using a vhs player attacthed to camera then firewire to imac, ... the imovie project is perfect in everyway. Everything is pal. Yes i did export to QT within IM and this was also out of sync.
thanks for answering some of my Qs ...
there's one thing, I do suspect, which was a 'source' for sync-weirdness for years.. which is the AUDIO connected to some video.
you told us, video is 25fps, and audio is included 16bit (which is good...)
I assume, adding some NON-conform audio could cause trouble... (as a 12bit audio would cause outofsynciness) .. we do know very little about, how iM08 handles audio+video internally, we 'Silverbacks' had long discussions about really weird side effects as a 'zooming' of dvfiles on export etc. I wouldn't be surprised, if adding some non-iTS, non-48kHz-aiff, non-whatever... causes such an effect.
so, please answer my audio Q from above: source, format, bitrate...?
and just for curiosity: how long is your project in total? hh:min:sec?
    ==edit==
pops into mind: in iM vers3, there was some 'bug', concerning PAL wrong audio and NTSC good audio ... wow < scratching bald head > .. try to contact some wiseguy with better memory..

  • Serious QT Player audio offset issue OS X/Win

    Hello,
we are an animation studio for tv commercials in Germany working for advertisement agencies with over 15 years experience. The whole branch is mainly using Quicktime movies for presentations and approvals.
Within our last project we figured out again that there's a serious audio offset issue by Quicktime which will give the whole approval and playout process a headache. Usually we encode in H.264 and these movies will be uploaded to a website or sent by email.
The issue I am talking about is a very little desync of video and audio. We are talking about 3 frames delay of the picture. We found out that this is caused by the player only.
Example: we have a picture sequence in After Effect and the audio file delivered by the sound studio which is perfectly mixed to the animation sequence. The After Effects RAM preview will play the whole movie perfectly as approved at the sound studio. When you export this to a Quicktime movie the Quicktime player result is different. Exactly 3 frames. Adjusting the audio track 3 frames forward will give you the right result.
The main problem now is that you need to offset 3 frames to get sure that everyone will experience the correct audio/video on an Apple and Windows system (both tested here). For a playout to tape (station copy) or encoding in Flash, YouTube, Vimeo you need to deliver the version without the audio offset.
If you use the 3 frames offset version for encoding in Flash, YouTube or Vimeo you will get a wrong result. This time the picture is running 3 frames behind. Playing the original Quicktime with another player like AFX RAM Player, VLC or Media Player Classic will show the correct result.
We also downloaded a couple of Trailers and compared the original with a 3 frames audio offset version. The original ones look wrong in QT and the wrong ones look right. It's a player issue what has to be fixed asap by Apple. The question now is: where can I contact a qualified Apple support who will understand the problem? This has to be moved to the Apple development team.
We googled the net and found discussions about the issue. But noone so far could work out that it's a Apple Player bug and not caused by other software. In one thread some users were sure that e.g. After Effects is exporting the wrong movie. It was recommended to move the audio in After Effects to get the right result. If you do so and believe and trust in the Quicktime Player you will export the wrong result and your TV Commercial's picture is 3 frames desynced to audio. Honestly this 3 frames offset is hard to recognize depending on the movie. But it's definitely an error what could cause a desaster if a commercial will be in a bugged version on-air.

    1. Check the cycle count of the battery against the rated life for your model. The battery may be due for replacement. If the power adapter is connected almost all the time, the battery may need replacing even though the cycle count is not too high.
    2. Follow these instructions, or these for OS X 10.8 or earlier.
    3. In the Energy Saver preference pane, uncheck the box marked
Enable Power Nap while on battery power
if it's shown (it may not be.)
    4. You can also try resetting the SMC.
    5. Make sure your system is up to date in Software Update.
    6. Make a "Genius" appointment at an Apple Store, or go to another authorized service center.

  • Download and iTunes connection issues

As of recently, I have purchased numerous audio and video files from the iTunes store with no difficulty or connection issues of any kind. Though today, I attempted to download the Iron Maiden: Flight 666 movie, and had issues with my download. Though the file is downloading, it is taking an excruciatingly long amount of time. A 3.09 Gigabyte file, a file which might have previously taken me about an hour to download on my connection, now displays an estimated download time of 17+ hours. It has been downloading now for at least an hour, and only 9.5 Megabytes have been successfully downloaded. Now, I am experiencing difficulty accessing the iTunes store at all. An error message continually pops up saying that my connection has been lost and the download pauses, though I have checked my connection time and time again. I have even contacted my internet provider, Comcast, in hopes of solving my problem. My connection is good, though iTunes itself is the only thing giving me difficulty. I have gone through all of the steps that Apple has recommended, and have not had any success in attempting to download the file. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Severe audio sync issues with DVR and RAI(Italian) channel.

Having severe audio sync issues with the Motorola QIP6416-2 while
watching RAI(Italian) channel. The audio is about 2 seconds behind
the video. This is the only channel it seems to happen with.
I just switched from Cablevision about a week ago and never had a
sync issue with their DVR with the same RAI channel or any channel.
I've tried changing hdmi cables with no success and I also went to
component video cables but the problem remains. Resetting the
box helps but within 15 minutes the sync issues return. Also,
a channel change and back helps briefly,
The only new piece of equipment in the mix is the Motorola DVR,
nothing else has changed.  The DVR is connected directly to my
    tv.
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Mike

Being a foreign channel, there may be something screwy with the framerate (PAL conversion?). I don't personally subscribe to any foreign languages channels and I doubt too many on this forum do either, so you may have trouble finding someone to replicate the problem on their end here.

  • Audio Addition Issue

Hi there! I am trying to add an audio recording of myself speaking in for a video and the audio wont play. the cursor just moves through it and there is no sound. video works fine as does the music. I tried to load audio recording from my phone and the same thing happened. Any suggestions?

    Hi helpmeplease1314,
    Welcome to Apple Support Communities!
Take a look at the article below, it provides some great suggestions for muted audio in iMovie projects.
iMovie is missing audio on import, export, or playback
    http://support.apple.com/kb/ts2289
    Symptoms
If your iMovie project appears to be missing one or more audio tracks when you play, import, or export a project, try these steps.
    Resolution
Make sure the audio track has not been muted in the timeline.
Switch to timeline view by clicking the clock button in the iMovie window.
There are three checkboxes on the right side of the iMovie window underneath the sound icon. These checkboxes correspond to the video track and two additional audio tracks. Make sure all three tracks are selected. Any deselected tracks are muted.
If you are using iMovie 3 or later, check the "Edit Volume" option to see if it is selected. If so, make sure the volume of the affected video clips is not set to its lowest level, or try deselecting the option to Edit Volume.
See if the volume in iMovie is set to its lowest setting. Directly under the Preview pane in iMovie is a volume slider. Set this slider to maximum volume.
Make sure the computer's audio is not muted.
Quit and reopen iMovie, then check the clip to see if it now plays with audio.
Check to see if any of the video clips you have imported are in the MPEG-1 format. MPEG-1 clips will lose audio when you export them as part of your iMovie project.
Quit and reopen iMovie, then reimport the footage from the camera. Play the newly imported footage and see if you now have audio.
If you are using an analog to DV converter instead of a camera, make sure the audio connections are good between your VCR or other analog device and the converter. Check the documentation that came with your converter for more information.
Check /Library/QuickTime/ and ~/Library/QuickTime/ for any third-party plugins. Remove them if present, log out, and log back in. Check to see if the issue persists. If not, check with the manufacturer of the disabled plugin to see if an update is available. Note: The tilde (~) represents your Home directory.
Note: "Apple Intermediate Codec" and "QuickTimeMPEG2" are Apple components. For more information about a particular plugin, select the item in the Finder and choose File > Get Info. Look at the version string of the Get Info window to see if the plugin developer name is listed.
