RTPManager and DatagramSocket will only bind to local ipv6 udp sockets

Setup: Java 1.6.0, JMF 2.1.1e linux pack.
I'm writing a simple utility to receive and playback audio from an RTP stream directed at a specific local udp port. I need the RTPManager to bind to all local addresses on that port. To acheive this I'm using RTPManager and passing in a session address created as so -
local = new SessionAddress();
local.setDataPort(9000);
local.setControlPort(9001);
try {
manager.initialize(local);
} catch ...netstat -ulpn reveals that the application has only bound to the udp6 "wildcard" addresses and not bound to any local ipv4 address -
udp6 0 0 ::ffff:127.0.1.1:9000 :::* 20679/java
udp6 0 0 ::ffff:127.0.1.1:9001 :::* 20679/java
I've tried a few different ways of creating the SessionAddress to try and get it to bind correctly with no luck.
Also, the same issue appears to confront me when using DatagramSockets directly -
s = new DatagramSocket(9000);netstat again says -
udp6 0 0 :::9000 :::* 22061/java
If it helps, I'm happily talking over ipv4 StreamSockets on the same system.
Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong ?

I've made a bit of progress on this since my original post. I've removed all ipv6 addresses from any interface on my machine can now get a DatagramSocket to bind as expected -
udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:9000 0.0.0.0:* 26527/java
RTPManager seems to bind to whatever address your system hostname is associated with in /etc/hosts, in my case (ubuntu system) it was 127.0.1.1. removing this entry (as I may have expected) causes an UnknownHostException.
I can change the entry in /etc/hosts to read -
0.0.0.0 dan-laptop
and netstat output looks right, although I'm not sure of the validity of doing things this way -
udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:9000 0.0.0.0:* 27410/java
udp 0 0 0.0.0.0:9001 0.0.0.0:* 27410/java
Any comments on how to do this the right way ?

I am trying to run my registered CS6 Design Standard programs for the first time after install. InDesign runs OK, but Illustrator and Photoshop will only run in trail mode. How do I activate those two?

I can't get my registered versions of CS6 Photoshop and Illustrator to run in full mode. I installed CS6 Design Standard online end of June (an upgrade from CS5.5), on my old MacBook Pro. I didn't run the programs then as I was waiting on arrival of new MacBook Pro. I migrated the programs from my old MacBook to the new, and today tried to run those programs for the first time. InDesign work OK (after an initial hiccup) but Illustrator and Photoshop will only run in trial mode, and won't let me save files. My CS6 Design Standard shows with it's registration in my Adobe Account. All seems in order, but Illustrator and Photoshop won't run in registered mode. Can you please help?

Please use the uninstallers to remove your current installation. They are located in the Applications/Utilities/Adobe Installers folder. Once the uninstall is complete you will also want to run the CC Cleaner Tool. I would say yes. I once had the same problem (iPhone 5, IOS 7) and first restored to factory settings and after that from iCloud backup.
It worked very well.

I have tried downloading several fonts, including those from professional societies, but the only way to get Hebrew in my document is to cut and paste. Does anyone know how to fix this? I use an older MacBook running OS 10.9.1. I used to do my Hebrew work in Word, but it is no longer supported by Mac OS.

Just clarifying:
Pages '09 has bad support for Hebrew, Arabic etc but will accept pasted text.
Pages 5 has much better support but with bugs.
If you have columns they are in the wrong order ie Text starts in the left column and ends in the right column.
If you type English into Hebrew text it tends to fall in the wrong position eg instead of to the left of Hebrew punctuation it goes to the right.
As Tom recommends the only real solution on the Mac is Mellel.

btw Tell Apple, they are amazingly slow to fix this running sore which has been broken since RtoL was supposedly introduced in OSX 10.2.3 over a decade ago.

Try a reset: Simultaneously hold down the Home and On buttons until the device shuts down. Ignore the off slider if it appears. Once shut down is complete, if it doesn't restart on it own, turn the device back on using the On button. In some cases it also helps to double click the Home button and close all apps from the tray before doing the reset.

You are using File->Add File (or Folder) to Library, right?
Make sure that you also look at the various categories of content stored on the library: turn on the sidebar (Ctrl+S keys toggle) and click the categories to see if the content shows in the content window of iTunes.
It could be you are trying to add a video/movie in a format iTunes does not accept because it cannot play it or work with it. (And yes, if iTunes cannot add it to the library, it should absolutely report an error message rather than leave you wondering and drop the command.)

One enters and exits full-screen with control+command+F keys. This is on the View menu in Safari. Optionally, the green traffic light in your browser title bar, if you roll over it, has the full-screen control it it. While in full-screen mode with Safari, moving your mouse pointer virtually up, and off-screen reveals the Safari title bar again, and you can click the green traffic light to exit full-screen mode.
You can hide/show the status bar by simply typing command+/. This too, is on the Safari View menu. and in 10.10.1 — it works reliably for me.

Yes, but if you delete the iCloud account and start again, don't you have to wait 90 days for everything to start syncing?? I've been having this problem for months and no one seems to be able to figure it out. I used to have one Apple ID (which was not an email address) and then when iOS came along....and iCloud, they force you to use your email address as ID ....which actually sets up a SECOND Apple ID. I have a Mac, iPad, iPod touch and iPhone. the Apple techs tried to delete the iCloud accounts so that they all said the same thing (email address ID) but then I had to wait 90 days. the 90 days just passed and nothing is automatically syncing yet. I still think there are 2 accounts but if I delete all again.....it's going to be another 90 days (for security reasons, I was told). This is a real pain in the butt.

You should be syncing your contacts with an app on your computer or cloud service (iCloud, Gmail, Yahoo, etc), and not relying on a backup. If you haven't been doing this, start now and then restore your old backup. You will then be able to sync the new contacts back into the phone. However, you will lose all messages, etc newer thant the backup.

I'm sorry to hear you are having issues with your movie rental. The following information should help you with this:
How to report an issue with your iTunes Store, App Store, Mac App Store, or iBookstore purchase
Find the email receipt for your purchase.
Click Report a Problem under the app that is having the issue.
When prompted, enter the Apple ID and password you used to purchase the item, then click Report a Problem.
Click Report a Problem next to the item you are having an issue with.
From the Choose Problem dropdown menu, choose the appropriate issue.
Follow the onscreen instructions and—if prompted—type a description of the problem into the text field.
Click Submit to have your issue reviewed.

How do I attach a folder that contains multiple documents? I try and it will only allow me to pick one document at a time.

I'm trying to upload to my school's online blackboard (which is where I submit papers) and I cannot seem to figure out how to upload a folder I made on my desktop. I created multple folders containing more than one document and thought this would be easier then each individual document. But I cannot attach the whole folder. I have to pick each document which I could have done in the beginning!! Any thoughts? I tried to hit shift and then control to highlight all of them but that did not work. Any advice welcome:)

Either you got a bad battery, didn't install it correctly, did some other damage while installing, or haven't let it charge enough yet. There's really nothing we can do to help you with any of those scenarios.

Take a look at the FileSelector
First make sure the FileSelector is expanded so you can see the directory and sidebar. That's what the little disclosure triangle up by the filename is for. Once the FS has been expanded to look like the above picture, look to see what subdirectory has been selected. Use the SideBar to select an appropriate one.
