Rtsp streams not playing in QT X

Hi,
I'm looking for a little outside help in trying to find why my long established audio streams (rtsp) do not play in QT "X" .
These streams have been up for several years, server is Tiger, and all streams perform flawlessly on any other version of QT.
Using QT "X" I just get an empty transport...
I have no QTX install base to test on.. wondering if this is a known problem, or if anyone can help or guide me to a solution.
here is an example url: rtsp://columbia.forest.net/audem/jayyarnall
Thanks in advance!
D

For what little it's worth, it works fine for me in QuickTime Player X, so it's not a blanket limitation in QT X, at any rate. If this isn't your own system that's experiencing this problem, it's going to be difficult if not impossible to offer much in the way of suggestions. The most likely cause would be a firewall problem, but unless we could communicate with or at least get more information from the user who's reported the problem, I'm only guessing.
Regards.

  • TCS live stream not playing in SnS

    Hi , I have configured TCS to stream to the SnS server, I can view the stream in VLC player no problem, but when I create a live event on SnS I get no video stream, not even a video window appears.
    many thanks Scott

    Hi Scott,
    You might want to make sure the SW version of the TCS is compatible with the SW version of the SnS server.

  • Aac+ stream not playing in audacious/deadbeef

    This issue keeps coming up every once in a while, and here it is again... I can't play aac+ stream in audacious.
    Here's the console output:
    neon: <0x90af250> Buffer underrun, trying rebuffering
    flacng: Could not seek to 0!
    flacng: Could not reset the decoder!

    Does anyone know how to fix this?
    Thanks.

    I can't believe I'm the only one having this problem. Or you guys don't listen any music?
    I don't now much about audacious, but it uses libmad for mpeg audio, right?
    Not sure how this is related to the original question, since AAC is not mp3.
    I am not sure, but afaik there is no aacplus decoder for linux. HE-AAC is supported, which is the same thing quality wise, but the implementation is different. aacplus is a total failure and was doomed from the very beginning. Sad to see some people keep using it.
    FAAD and FFmpeg handle it perfectly. That covers almost all players. The URL in the OP is playable through both.
    Oh yeah, AAC is mpeg audio. It's mpeg4 layer 3 to be exact.

  • Music stream not playing

    On WinXP Pro, I successfully use the site listed below. However on OS X using Firefox I cannot hear the music on this site. I select the Play All from within this page, a popup is displayed as normal but no music. Again, this works in WinXP. For the Mac, I've tried Windows Media Player 9, Flip, WMPlayer, and QuickTime...at least I've installed these one at a time with no success. I'm trying to make the switch to the Mac but keep finding things like this that hold me back.
    http://music.phuonghong.com/play.php?videoalbumsID=386#

    I was able to play it using Windows Media Player 9 from within Safari.
    I clicked "Play All Songs", the pop-up window came up, and Safari informed me that it did not support the needed plug-in, but Windows Media Player might be able to play it. I clicked "OK", and Windows Media Player started and returned the error "One or more arguments are not valid". However, clicking on a song title in the pop-up window subsequently started it playing from within Windows Media Player. It appears the error only happens on launch.

  • Dynamic Stream not playing f4v files

    In my .smil file, if I put this line it works:
    <video src="sample.flv" system-bitrate="150000"/>
    But if I put the following line it doesn't work:
    <video src="mp4:sample1_150kbps.f4v" system-bitrate="150000"/>
    Both video files are in the webroot\vod folder.
    I am using the sample dynamicStream.smil code, so my syntax should be right.
    Does anyone see what I am doing wrong?
    Thanks

    Testing.  I found out that If I have one video line in my .smil file, it will play the .f4v, but two lines don't work.
    This works:
    <video src="mp4:sample1_150kbps.f4v" system-bitrate="150000"/>
    But this doesn't work:
    <video src="mp4:sample1_150kbps.f4v" system-bitrate="150000"/>
    <video src="mp4:sample1_500kbps.f4v" system-bitrate="500000"/>
    I am using the code snippet from the index.html page

  • Safari does not play movie stream

    Does anyone have any idea why Safari does not play the movies on the web page
    http://www.3sat.de/delta/
    You can find them under "Web-TV" (you have to click a little bit until a small window opens which has a button called "video starten" at the bottom right).
    I believe the movies are reaplayer video streams.
    Needless to say that the movies work just fine in Firefox ...
    Any ideas, hints, pointers will be appreciated.
    Best regards,
    Gabriel.

    Hello Gabriel,
    The video does play for me in a popup window via realplayer.
    it also has the option to open in WMP.
    Web TV
    It will not play in realplayer itself, when i click for it to play in real Player this
    Server alert

    Safari is also picky about code, this one is not the poorest & it does work for me so it seems something is interfering in your user account or computer,.
    Have you tried the site in a test account if not that would be telling.
    Let us know if it works there.

    If it still doesn't work after you have installed this package can you try:
    gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=rtsp://148.240.229.63/broadcast/reporte.rm
    Yes... the gst-plugins-bad is installed.
    I did what you said and the stream played right, after that I tried banshee and now I can hear the radio station without problems.
    Thanks, thanks a lot....

    JMF does not. JMF only plays RTP-protocol streams.I doubt it.....though I have never tried to play RTSP streams using JMF but seeing following links I do think client side RTSP is supported by JMF:

  • SpryTabbedPanel: Flash player in tabs do not play video streams

    Note: I am a complete noob (no experience with Javascript and rudimentary experience with htlm/css). Please be patient (I hope that this is the correct forum for this) and know that I am appreciative of any help or solution that anyone can provide.
    Using Dreamweaver CS4 on Mac OS 10.5.8
    We recently switched all of our streaming servers from Windows Media (good riddance) to Flash Media Server 3.5 (now getting awesome H.264 quality in comparison).
    I was asked to re-design this webpage with the aim of re-organizing the content so that it is more accessible:
    http://www.librarymedia.net/VideoGallery.html
    We used Adobe's test page for our first page:
    http://www.librarymedia.net/flash/videoplayer.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.4/live/livestr eam&type=live&idx=10
    This was meant as a temporary page to get us started, and as you can see, it needs work but at least it works.
    I've been working the the final version of this page. My boss wants a tabbed web page with links to our video streams (tab for each category of streams).
    This is what I have so far:
    http://www.librarymedia.net/Flash2/videoplayer2.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.4/live/lives tream&type=live&idx=10
    I realize that I had several options before building this. One, I could have made a separate page for each tab and linked them with a tab menu. In hindsight, this might have been a better option since I could have just copied the working page that we already have for each tab. Or I could have done what I have tried to do: to use Dreamweaver's SpryTabbedPanel to make the tabs and insert a Flash player with links into each tab.
    The problem:
    1. The streams do not play. The player says "initializing" and then "please enter a stream name and play". Please note that I used SpryURLutils to get each link to open in the appropriate tab.
    2. After reading about the benefits of external vs. inline javascript, I took all of the inline javascript that was contained in Adobe's sample page and placed it in an external file. I tried placing the javascript back into the source code (inline), but this did not fix the problem. I guess there is a Javascript problem or I need extra Javascript code to get this to work.  The javascript code is below. Use view source in your web browser to see source code. Please let me know if I need to provide more information.
    Thanks.

    >There is a sample application of the code included with the zip file  which shows how to implement it.
    The sample doesn't really tell me what I need to do to the code to make it work (I do not know javascript), and unfortunately, I have not found any helpful instructions/documentation online. You've given me the answer, I just don't know enough to implement it. This is what I've done:
    1. Placed the FAVideo.js file in my site folder and linked it to the page: <script src="FAVideo.js" type="text/javascript"></script>
    2. I added the following code (taken from the SimpleDemo.html example inside the FAVideo folder). My comments in bold. Page at
    http://www.librarymedia.net/Flash2/videoplayer2.html?source=rtmp://63.116.232.6/vod/mp4:Ol ympics2010_640x480.mov
             <! To the <body> section:-->
    <body onLoad="">
        <div id="divOne"></div>
    <!-Do I have to place the entire page within the "divOne" div (or just the section containing the tabs) in order for the javascript to work?-->
             <!-In the <head> section: -->
       <script type="text/javascript">
            playerOne = new FAVideo("divOne", "TabbedPanels1", "demo_video.flv",0,0,{ autoLoad:true, autoPlay:true });
        </script>
    <!- I noticed that the body code added a div id called "divOne", so I added the "TabbedPanels1" div id to the above code thinking that this would apply the javascript code to all of the tabs. Dreamweaver adds <div id="TabbedPanels1" class="TabbedPanels"> to the page when you insert the tabbed menu, so I'm thinking the javascript has to point to either one of those for it to work. The "demo_video.flv",0,0 code is probably unneccesary, right? As you can see, I'm completely clueless. -->
        <script>
            playerOne.addEventListener("playheadUpdate",this,myHandler);
            playerOne.removeEventListener("playheadUpdate",this,myHandler);
            function myHandler() {
                //alert("eh");
        </script>
    </body>
    Once again, thanks for your help.

  • Rented movie not playing. I have 81Mbps Internet and can stream anything else HD. it's not WiFi either because signal strength is full and I can view anything other than rented movies on apple TV unit. it charges me for renting but doesn't play

    Rented "Gone Girl" on apple tv. It charges me, but will not play for more than 4 seconds at a time. I have exercised every step of apple's troubleshooting and nothing fixes the problem. I have a very strong, steady 81 Mbps Internet connection speed and can stream any other HD through the apple tv except for this rented movie. This is not the first time this has happened either. I just gave apple $6 for free and am currently watching the movie streaming through my cable provider's on demand channel with ease. Oh yeah, and when I seek apple support for the issue, apple wants $2 just to contact someone! Give me my money back please and I will never attempt to use your poor tv service again.

    The limitation of approximately 200 titles has been discussed before, we can't be sure whether it will be something that gets fixed or not. I'm not really sure what your other issues are, if I use search instead of lists, I find whatever I want and am able to rent or purchase subject to those options being available for that particular title.

    I have created a streaming movie and put it online. I have installed the latest version of Quicktimne for PC. The movie streams and plays perfectly on my Mac however it does not stream on my PC. It plays on the PC when it has fully downloaded (in the browser using quicktime) but the sound quality is poor - I can hear lots of cackles.
    Can anyone help with this please?

    In addition to Neds suggestions, empty the Safari cache (which should be empty after a clean install).
    Goto the Safari Get Info screen (in Finder or in Dock if you have Safari there), click the triangle on languages, and disable those you don't use.
    My Safari response time was significantly slowed after the 10.4.5 update, and using the combo updater took care of that. The 10.4.6 combo update is located here.

  • Windows Media Player does not play Streaming me

    After installing All the Software for Audigy 2ZS Platinum. My Windows Media Player will not play any video streams from MSN or Yahoo. Is there any known conflict with any of the software or how can I make the software compatible with WMP v0 windows XP.

    Hi,
    Try the following to force Windows Media Player to re-build the Library Database.
    A useful utility for viewing all the files on your PC is called Free Commander, on the link below, as it displays folders that the Operating System normally hides and has a good search function.
    http://www.snapfiles.com/php/download.php?id=107872&a=7122339&tag=601108&loc=10
    This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip which can be used to open this so that you can run the installer.
    Make sure Windows Media Player and Windows Media Centre are closed.
    Launch Free Commander, double click Users, double click 'your user name', double click Local Settings, double click Application Data, double click Microsoft and double click Media Player.  Delete all the files that have the extension .wmdb - do not delete any folders.
    Close Free Commander and open Windows Media Player - it will now begin to re-build the library database which may take a while, but when it has finished see if the movie files play Ok now.
    Regards,

  • Safari will  not play streaming video or audio

    Hi everyone,
    I have had my iBook for a year and never even tried to take advantage of streaming video or audio b/c I had a dial-up connetion until very recently. Now that I have a high speed connection I would like to watch trailers and listen to music on myspace. I cannot watch trailers at www.apple.com/trailers/ or any video on myspace.com. Nor can I listen to music (I think they are xml files) on myspace.com. I'm currently running on Mac OSX 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Christopher

    Hi
    Well I have the opposite effect here - the video plays fine on my MBP, yet not on my Intel iMac. On the iMac the video panel never appears. Rather tells me it needs Flash.
    Safari is the same on both systems (or at least that's what I think). No plugin blocks are present. To test if the Preference files might be causing the problem, On the iMac, I moved to the desktop from the Macromedia folder in ~/Library/Preferences folder the folder inside the SharedObjects folder. Restarted the system/Safari but the video still does not play.
    In the past, Layers magazine has not been a problem, however, I haven't viewed one for several months. Given what others have posted, there seems to be an oddity here that is not machine or Safari specific. I'll have to investigate more when I have time tomorrow.
    Try the Video from another user account. See if this is system-wide, or just specific to your user account. BTW, video played fine on the iMac in Firefox.

  • Videos Not Playing in 'Shared Streams'

    Hi All,
    I've noticed that a lot of users seem to be having the same issue with viewing videos in the 'Shared Streams'. I am also having this issue, as is my partner with a different Apple ID.
    After sharing a video, the other user will get a nofitication to say that I've added a video to a particular shared stream. A preview image of the video, along with the play button in the middle will appear. However the video will not play. All you get is the spinning circle in the middle. Its the same when somebody shares a video with me too. I cannot view the video.
    I raised this issue with Apple a few days ago. After trying all of their support tips, I'm still having the same problem. I'm still waiting for Apple to get back to me on this one. As soon as they have, I will let you guys know too.
    As well as affecting my iPhone 4S, it affects my iPhone 5, iPad Mini and iPad 3. To me, this is clearly a software issue.
    Cheers,
