Ruler in Acrobat X - stil the same pain

When I have double page view, I can't have a ruller over all the two pages, just over the left one.
Isn't it bug? Terrible thing anyway!
It works in this way since version 3 (?) so far I remember.

If you're talking about guide lines, they are page-based so will not extend across a spread, however you can place guides on either of the two pages in a 2-up view by selecting the page you want first (left or right) using the page naviation tools.
The rulers displayed around the document window uses the top left of the currently-selected page as an origin, so it will move when you switch from the left to the right page. This is not configurable.

  • Windows Firewall issue, Inbound rule opend all, still not the same as turning off

This is Windows Firewall issue on Windows 8.1 Pro.
Backup Exec server cannot expand a computer node in selection list. I drill down to Microsoft Windows Network/Domain/Computers, then when I tried to expand a Windows 8.1 Pro computer node, it hangs out.
I narrowed this problem to Windows firewall related issue on Windows 8.1 Pro computer.
When I turn off Windows Firewall on Domain profile, Backup Exec Selection expands the computer node of the Windows 8.1 Pro computer. So, I created an inbound rule opening all to BAckup Exec server as following, but it's still not the same as turning off
    Windows firewall specifically on Windows 8.1 Pro computer;
Any Local IP address, Any Remote IP address, Any port, Any protocol, All Interface, All Programs and Services, All profiles(Domain, Private, Public)
And there are no rules blocking any which may override the above rule.
Ethernet on Windows 8.1 Pro computer shows profile is linked with Domain, but just to make it work, I selected all profiles.
Even though I opened all available in inbound rule, it's still not the same as turning off windows firewall. Why am I missing?

It looks as something related to RPC(UDP 135), but even when inbound rule is all open, why it matters? RPC seems working fine only when firewall is turned off on domain profile.
    Protocol 17 is UDP
    Port: 135

    Thank you for your help
Your solution is different from the other members' opinion. ¿Is This option  available in the Adobe Standard ? Because I have not found it in Adobe Standard.
Your option is with   Edit > Preferences > Batch Processing Security Method "Password Security" and the option of the other members is with Advance > Batch Process.
I have tried to change some pdf files that had password with Adobe Pro, so I tried to remove the security password from the pdf files, with Advance > Batch Process.
I created a new secuence with security through  the Option "Whithout Password" but when I executed the secuence, the program showed me a window with this message "OPERATION NO AVAILABLE".
¿Can you help me? I don't kown how I can remove the password of this pdfs, yet.
    Thank you in advance.

  • Acrobat 9 and 10 on the same computer with Office 2003

I am using windows xp. I currently have acrobat 9.x pro installed and PDFMaker is installed in my Office 2003 application...works great. I am considering upgrading from CS4 to CS 5.5 which includes Acrobat 10. I would like to know if I can install Acrobat 10 on the same machine as 9 and if so, will PDFMaker be available for each version in the Office  2003.
    Thanks,
    Chick

Having 2 versions of Acrobat together is possible (though not recommended), but you will have only one PDFMaker in Office 2003 - ie. from latest version of Acrobat. The entire list of supported PDFMakers with various Office versions/applications is available at http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/333/333504.html

  • Help: 10.0.1 update for multiple languanges is the same file as for Tier 1 languages.

I'm trying to deploy the 10.0.1 update to my corporation. I need the multiple language update. When I go to the Downloads site for Adobe Reader, the update for multiple languages languages is the exact same file as the update for Tier 1 languages. I've called (yes, and actually held on long enough to speak to someone) twice asking for clarification on the files. The first time I was told this would be escalated to the web team and to call back. Over a week later no change to the files on the download site so I had to call in again and go through the same painful process to get the person on the phone to understand the problem. Has anyone already gone through this and determined whether that update is Tier 1 or multiple languages? Thank you very much.

You need to select an appropriate Patch (Tier1 through Tier4) for the Reader(s) installed on you system(s)

  • Weird: changing file or link associated defaults then changes ALL defaults to the same program

Y'know... I thought I'd possibly 'seen it all' but today someone brought me a laptop with something I don't believe I've ever seen...
every link and file association is defaulted to the wrong program, and it is not possible to restore the association to the proper program for the respective file types.  And changing one
association changes ALL other associations for every other link to a file or shortcut.
For instance: 'right-clicking' on what I KNOW to be an Adobe Acrobat file and selecting 'open with...' from the context menu, Adobe Acrobat is not shown (even after un-installing and re-installing Acrobat).  So I 'browse' to the Program files (x86)
folder and select Adobe Acrobat (AcroRd32.exe) from within the Adobe Acrobat program folder to 're-associate' .pdf files with Acrobat..  BUT - this then changes ALL associations for everything  (including shortcuts on the desktop) to Adobe Acrobat.
And the same can be said if I attempt to change the file association for a "docx" file extension (MS Word document).  Change the 'association' for one single 'docx' file and this results in ALL files or shortcuts on the desktop to also
    change to MS Word.
So - what the ...?  Anyone have a clue as to what he's done on this "brand new" installation of Windows Home Premium (64-bit)?  I only just (this past week) talked him into 'abandoning' XP in favor of a license of Windows 7 Home Premium,
and afterwards everything was 100% and fully operational - but now one week later and he's done this...
So...  A registry issue..? Something to do with 'file association' defaults? (and my suspicion is some sort of 'dll' problem with this performance and the issue of not being able to configure 'program defaults' for any given file type without also affecting
    all other associations...).
So,short of backing up all his data (out of precaution) and trying to do a 're-installation' of Windows, my most immediate response with this would be to just 'blow it away' and re-install Windows again ... and then copy all of his data back to the corresponding
locations.  But I would like to know what he's possibly done (for future reference) and maybe learn of some possibility that this can be 'fixed' and the correct 'associations' re-established without having to re-install Windows one more time...
GAA! THIS is why I shave my head...

    Hi,
According to the description, it seems that the issue is caused by some corrupted registry entry\keys, a corrupted registry key can be caused by an malware\virus, or an bad-coded program or just some incorrect operation by the user. it's hard to determin
which is the culprit, but we can try to repair it as we could.
Please refer to the following link and see if it helps, (backup your registry first before editing the registry)
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/950505
we can also create a new user profile instead and copy files and setting from the old profile

  • Form populates fields with all the same data

I am trying to fill out a form, but when you enter anything in one field, every other field gets populated with the same information. This happens for all fields. For example, if I type "Joe" for the Name field, and move to the next field, "Joe" will show up in every remaining field, i.e. address, city, state, etc. Changing another field will change every other field again to the same string.
I'm running Reader 8 in Vista. I've also tried Reader version 9 and the full version of Acrobat 9 with the same results. I'm guessing it's a function of the original form. Is there a way I can change this behavior myself?
    Thanks,
    Ryan

In Adobe Acrobat you can change the names of the fields. Assign diiferent names to the fields.

How to display or generate PDF417 barcode dynamically in PDF form? I am using Acrobat XI Professional and there is a Bar Code Field in the same through which I generated the same. But I want to generate the same dynamically.

What do you mean by dynamically? When yo set up a 2D bar code field you specify which field name/value pairs you want to include, along with other parameters. But be aware that they won't work with Reader unless you Reader-enable the document with LiveCycle Reader Extensions and include the bar code usage right. It will work with Acrobat Standard/Pro.

  • How can I use the "Copy and paste" tool in order get stamps in the same position in different pages (Acrobat XI for PC)?

With Acrobat 6.0 I was able to copy a stamp in the same position (I mean "exactly" the same one) of different pages just by using the "copy/past" tool.
Now I am using Acrobat XI and it seems like it is not possible anymore: I am copying a stamp and I am trying to past it in anoter page, but it appears in the center of the page (or wherever it wants to...).
    Does anyone have a solution?
    Thanks in advance.

Thank you very much. I'll be waiting for you message.

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same server

We have installed Adobe Acrobat X Pro- English,Francais,Deutsch version 10.1.9 in our test environment and tried  testing it for converting SAP pages into PDF with a few pilot users. In doing so we faced a challenge, where only one user at a time can use Adobe Acrobat PRO to convert SAP pages in to PDF.As long as the first user who  is connected to Adobe Acrobat Pro via SAP isn’t logged off, other users connected to the same  server  are not being able to get the “Save As” dialog box to save the PDF in their preferred location.
This is a business requirement and we need an urgent solution for the same. Can anyone help us in telling us if this is possible and if yes the how to go about?

It's not something we deal with here, the LiveCycle products are a different world. Key points: Adobe LiveCycle is a range of products, some desktop, some server. LiveCycle PDF Generator is the one you should look at, it comes in 3 editions. License terms are by negotiation. Key management is via its Java API.

  • How to make Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP  Pages to PDF available for multiple users connected to the same Citrix server

    Hi,
In my previous endeavours to solve this business requirement where multiple users will be able to use the Adobe acrobat feature to convert SAP pages inside SAP to PDF, I was told that it is not possible to do this for multiple users at the same time. However I have found an article according to which it says it is possible. Could you check it once and let me know if this article can be used for implementing the requirement stated above as this link clearly indicates that Adobe Acrobat is supported on Citrix.
Please find the link below where it states it is adobe acrobat is supported in Citrix for multiple users.
    http://www.adobe.com/devnet-docs/acrobatetk/tools/AdminGuide/citrix.html.

    1. What is the Acrobat feature that you mean? There's nothing specific to SAP included with Acrobat.
    2. Yes, some Terminal Server configurations appear supported (check carefully). All users of the terminal server will need a license, so far as I know - total licenses = total individual people using.

  • Under Options , Applications There are multiple entries for the same item (Acrobat Document). how can I delete the duplicates?

Under Options, Applications there are multiple entries for the same item. (Adobe Acrobat) . Three show Adobe Acrobat Reader 9.3 and the other shows (ask) or (save file) with no ability to select Acrobat Reader . Is there a way to edit this list to remove the duplicates and
the incorrect entry? Adobe installed a very quick update today.

They are all different. Hover your mouse pointer over each of the "Content Type" descriptions and you should see a "tooltip" to see that each has a different description.

  • I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro on my desktop.  Can I also load into onto my laptop for working remotely with the same serial number?

I use Adobe Pro on my desktop daily at the office and now will be handling work remotely from a laptop as well.  Adobe Pro is essential for my work (bates stamping, redaction, advanced editing, etc). Can I use the same serial number and installation disc to load this on my laptop?  There are no instructions that speak to this issue and I know other programs I have installed provided for both desktop and laptop access.  It isn't like I am giving use of this product to another user or pirating it, so I can't foresee an issue. Any information is much appreciated.  Thank you!

    Hi rebekah,
Adobe End User License Agreement entitles you to install a singe retail license on 2 computers at any instance.
So you can load Acrobat 9 license on the other computer too.
