Run away log problem...

My hard drive space keeps getting eaten up by something. I've copied something that keeps repeating in the console log. Can anyone tell me how to fix this problem based on what the console log says? 2009-10-17 18:21:58 ERROR Uncaught Exception:

I have a 3rd party application called Now Contact. Can this application be the problem here? I can keep deleting the log and get back the hard drive space but what is the fix. Note too that I just had a similar problem with my printer driver. I deleted the driver that was downloaded from the Epson site and deleted the console log, then restarted and all was well. I did go ahead and download another driver and after about 12 hours, I started having the same problems as before. I deleted the printer driver again but this time the problem persists.

I'm thinking you may have some 3rd party add-on that got broke by past updates...
One way to test is to Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, Test for action in Safe Mode...
Reboot, test again.
You can Have Console open and see if a perticulsr APP causes the messages.
If it only does it in Regular Boot, then it is some 3rd party add-on, Check System Preferences>Accounts>Login Items window to see if it or something relevant is listed.
Check System Preferences, the Other row for possibilities.
Also look in these if they exist, some are invisible...

/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/StartupItems
/System/Library/LaunchDaemons

Ah, but there's this caveat:
Apple will continue to evaluate the repair data and will provide further repair extensions as needed.

ESSBASE V9 run away query

I have noticed that if you use a calc script to export your database from a Block storage cube, you can create a run away query. I was missing a parameter and ran a query to export some data - it just kept running, even after I tried to terminate it. is there a way to stop the query without having to bring down the server?

I would doubt that the data could of caused this issue, I would of thought the problem would lie down to either metadata changes or the database compression changing.
If you want to start the database up again, first make sure there is no ghost esssvr process running, if the database crashed it could leave a ghost process running and it will stop the database starting again, kill the process try again.
If it doesn't work you could restore the db from backup.
Or if you want to just clear the data, delete the ess**.pag ess*.ind and .esm files and start up the application, then reload the data.

REGEXP_LIKE runs away when pattern is not found

I am using the following in my pl/sql code:

It validates e-mail addresses. When the pattern is found (the e-mail is valid) the performance is fine. When the pattern is not found the query takes at least 50 seconds and in a few cases has actually "run away". Has anyone else exprienced this problem?

In some cases you can also index regex with FBI's. But regular expression are notorious for causing full-table scans on multi-million rows tables, and special care must be given to creating matching function-based indexes to keep performance at an acceptable level.

So I was wondering...I want to get an Audigy sound card. Is the original Audigy a good performer? If you're into 2.1 sound like me, does it make any real difference over the k8t onboard sound?
And if I installed windows xp w/acpi disabled, will it make it safe to install and use an audigy glitch free? Or do I still have to do convoluted stuff to make it work right...
Or, on a similar note, are Turtle Beach Santa Cruz cards worth spending on? Which one would you say is better?

anyway, i would stay away from audigy 1 series they seem to have driver glitches, and erase eproms ..the zs series seems to be stomping on my core center and live update...but i didn't have problems with an audigy 2...that said there are other types of sb's but i am not sure on those..there was one person who gave up on thier audigy 1 and got a turtlebeach, and they were very happy with that said it installed smooth and sounded good. i had tried some other mad dog 7.1, revolution or somthing like that ...stay away from that..it sucked bigtime was terible to install, and sounded lousy

I would like to implement an error logger that will do the following tasks when a error/exception arrises:
- surpress the DacfErrorPopupLogger
- alert the user that an error has occured with a simplified popup (create a global listener then use the ErrorAttributes to create the text of the popup)
- log the error in a file with a timestamp and all error information
- later if the above works....i would like to add the error attributes (time stamp, error type) to a oracle object/ Jdev domain.

What is the best technique to use....errorManager, error logger ...?? combination
How do i use the error manager to register listners for the errors?.
In the following code i am not sure how to access the ErrorsAttributes[] array that is returned by loggerReader.getErrors();

That crash appears to be casued by the Facebook plug-in.
Create a new account (systempreferences -> accounts or Users & Groups on 10.7 and 10.8), make a new Library in that account, import some shots and see if the problem is repeated there. If it is, then a re-install of the app might be indicated. If it's not, then it's likely the app is okay and the problem is something in the main account.

X2-02 log problem

I have a log problem with my x2-02, only the last occurrence belonging to a certain contact (in the contacts book), is logged. When a new handling-occurence linked to this contact happened, only this last handling is logged (all the previous are deleted, not there anymore).
This was not the situation before, I did play a little bit through the menu and after that it happened. Of course I did already try the regular solutions, soft reset-hard reset, reinstalling the (latest software). But till now nothing did work.
Can someone assist on this

When i go to contacts, and choose the option "View conversations" i see with certain persons, that there are also conversations (sms messages) not pertaining/belonging to that contact (belonging to more different contacts).

Make sure you are viewing your image at 100%. At smaller views, pixels and layers and the way they interact are approximate interpolations and won't show you the actual pixel-for-pixel changes.

First of all this is not called "run away process". Not sure where you got the term.
It's not a good idea to recompile a package while other sessions are using it. However the other sessions should recognize the changes after the package been recompiled.
There're a few DDL locks involved here,
Oracle will place an Exclusive DDL Locks on target package to make sure other session will not compile the same package at the same time.
Oracle will also place Share DDL Locks on all referenced tables and other objects to make sure they are not changed during the compile.
In your "other" sessions that calling this package they all have Breakable Parse Locks on the package. So that the associated shared SQL area can be invalidated if a referenced object is altered or dropped. In your case recompiled.
In another words, whenever you recompiled the package, these Breakable Parse Locks are broken, Oracle will know the old SQL area for the package is invalidated. The session need parse the package again.

Yesterday when I turned on the computer, I got a prompt asking if I wanted to link my Adobe Lightroom with Adobe Premier. I “x’d” the prompt but then the computer went into a “do not turn off” mode. 45 minutes later the computer was still prompting me not to turn it off. Thinking that the computer was hung up I did turn it off. Then I turned it back on, went to Adobe Lightroom to discover that all my work from the past three-to four years had disappeared.
At this point I am afraid to mess with Adobe Premier, so it’s still on my computer. I used Windows 7, Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom 4. Do you think if I uninstalled my trial version of Adobe Premier 13, my work on Lightroom would return? Or is it lost?

I was unaware that you could establish any direct linkage between Lightroom and Premiere Elements. Are you sure that the association was to be for Photoshop CS3 and Lightroom?
Have you tried to do a System Restore to a point before you installed Premiere Elements 13 or before you OK'd whatever this Lightroom linkage was?
Have you asked your question in the Adobe Lightroom Forum, asking about recovery of work lost from Lightroom? Have you found any traces of your lost Lightroom work in the Recycle Bin?

Hi. I have the same problem using an HTC Incredible Android smartphone. The video/audio not in sync. Slight advance or delay. Not matching. I have the phone set to record as mp4, but when I use the file it says 3gp, so I transcode it to mp4. I have filmed a lot with my smartphone and now I have all this footage for over 6 months that may have this problem so I seriously need to know how to fix this or I have a ton of bad footage showing me in frame talking and it's not going to be right for YouTube videos of selfie-vlogging. So, I need to know the best, most fool-proof, most efficient, time-saving way to process and make it workable without taking too much time.
