Runbook to attach a Templated Incident to a specific Problem everytime the template is used

I'm totally new to Runbooks and was wondering how difficult this would be?
My goal is to use a runbook when we have a system outage, and my analysts dont have time between calls to attach each incident to the problem ticket. I want to do a runbook and attach this to the Incident Template in an Activity so it runs when the template
is used or applied... is this the best way to do this? 
BTW the Link Problem method doesnt work... not until you click OK on a new incident and then reopen it... so this is the main reason I wanna automate this....

Yes we are using Service Manager, and we just got the addon pack for orchestrator to work with service manager.
My intent, and what I do now, is I create a template for any item that looks like it may become a problem.... our environment we use 10 incidents to dictate creating a problem.
On my Incident template once I add the problem, I put the PR# into the title of the Incident template....
I was hoping a runbook would be easy to do that just took any incident with that title, and added it to a Problem.
I am totally new and havent messed with them, but wasnt sure if this was something that would require "programming" or if the functionality is built into the runbook system to do something like this.

    In your description you say the first document opens as the Title you gave it.
    Templates always open as Untitled so it sounds like you have saved a regular document, perhaps into your templates folder which is possible.
    Since you have already worked on it and it has been previously saved, Lion will now Save for you and Save a Version is available
    The other document does open as Untitled so sounds like a real template and as Peggy has pointed out will not have either Revert nor Save a Version until you Save it and have changed something in it.
    This is a classic example of just how Apple's supposedly "simplification" of the process, is leading to confusion of what has happened. That the conditions and resulting actions from those conditions is so convoluted says it all.
    It all reminds me of the Monty Python Life of Brian sketch with the "simplified" John Cleese instructions to the class, as to if you have a brother in an older dorm whether to hang your hat and bag on the hooks provided. The trouble is Apple does not get the joke, that it is transforming itself into a frequently self contradictory bumbling bureacracy. The price of unchallenged self appointed geniushood.
    The incoherent half baked stumbling juggernaut has reached new triumphs with its edict on enforced Sandboxing on developers when it is unable to follow even its own instructions.

  • I'm using Word for Mac. Though there are various instructions on the Internet for modifying the templates, none make sense to me. They instruct to do something I can't follow. I change a template but can't save it to the template folder.

    What the ****.
    OK, I try to change a template using Word for Mac version 14.3.4 2011 edition.
    I make a change to the template but am unable to save the darned thing to the template folder; it asks for a file name like it's a new document. I want to change the blasted template but if I can't save it as a modified template, I've accomplished nothing.
    Does anyone have a solution?

  • VMM 2012 R2 Template creation fails with sysprep error via the gui, but works in powershell?

    I'm in the process of trying to convert an existing gen1 VM (Win Server 2012 R2) to a VM template using VMM 2012 R2 with rollup 1. The creation keeps failing with the following error :-
    "Error
    (2901)The operation did not complete successfully because of a parameter or call sequence
    that is not valid.Recommended ActionEnsure
    that the parameters are valid, and then try the operation again."
    I've checked that the local administrator account for the machine being converted to a template and it is blank as expected and in an attempt to troubleshoot I've output the template creation script via the VMM GUI and executed the commands in order which appears
    to have resolved the problem, well the template finishes creation, i'm yet to deploy a machine via it?

    Now the only fields that weren't populated when I ran through the gui were FullName and Organization? Before I changed the script these two fields were just set to ""? Is that what has potentially caused the issue are they both required fields?

    Your not the only one who can reproduce this. Did you ever find out what it was? I saw your post and tried your same work-around and it also worked for me via Powershell.

  • How do you input/uplo​ad the templates for Heart Rates, EKG, etc. onto an already existing form of LabView?

    I have LabView 9.0 and I remember last year when I got it I had to go through several steps in order to upload the templates for Heart Rate, EKG, and Blood Pressure.  However, since then, several of my computers have been worked on within the district and the templates are no longer on the main page anymore and I have forgotten the steps to completete to get them back.  Can anyone help me??!!

    What main page are you referring to? Are you referring to the Getting Started window that has the "VI from Template..." link that pulls up a dialog to select the type of file to create? That has a tree node that you can navigate and there's a VI -> From Template -> User node. If you place the template in the <labview>/templates folder then they will show up in this node.

  • Why is the template not being used when dynamic page called ?

    Hi,
    I have created a dynamic page and assigned a template to it. When I call the dynamic page using the 'show' procedure from a form, I do not see the template.
    Why is the template not being used ? How can I get the template working when I call the dynamic page ?
    I even tried to show the page from the dynamic page's manage components tab and there is same problem. Template is not being used.

    You can alter the generated package body to include the following function in the header and footer sections.
    Header:

  • Do you have to upload all new pages if you edited the template file?

    I've edited a template in Dreamweaver and applied all changes to pages that use this template.
    Previously, I had been uploading the templates onto my server, but after realizing that uploading the edited template to the web the pages didn't change.
    When you edit the template in Dreamweaver shouldn't it automatically pull from the new template when you look at the pages online? OR do you have to upload each new page to your server that used that template?
    or in other words..
    Does the webpage pull the information from the template in Dreamweaver or from the server?

    Any pages that have been updated after the template has been updated will need to be uploaded to the server. The pages do not automatically "connect" to the template and reflect it's rendering while on the server - that would require Server Side Includes or a dynamic server-side language (like PHP or ASP .NET) .

  • Adding to the template sidebar

    I want to create quick access to categories of my own templates in the sidebar panel of Template Chooser.
    This is because I have a large number of documents in 'My Templates' - more than Apple supplies in its selection, and I would like to be able to access these quickly by category. To clarify - I would like to add folders that are as easy to find (and label) as the folders that can be dragged into the left hand side bar of Finder.
    I have tried adding folders in the iWork template folder in Application Support, but that doesn't seem to work.
    Is there any way to do this?

    You can add folders which names you'll see in the Template chooser! You add folders within the Template folder. Your name > Library > Application support > iWork > Templates

  • Problem with Web Template

    Hi,
    We are facing some problem in WAD.
    We have developed some reports based on views and as well on queries.
    As per our requirement we merged all the reports in a Standard web Template, and we are using table and graph as web items for the template, here the user can select any report becoz we have query selection option, then it will display the particular report. But we are getting the problem with the Template.
    While publishing the template we will get three tabs 1.DATA ANALYSIS, 2. GRAPHICAL DISPLAY 3.INFORMATION. in the initial screen that means in the DATA ANALYSIS tab it should display only the table, but in our case it is displaying both table and graph.
    And also if you select graphical tab then that should highlight the particular tab and with the particular graph, but the tabs is not highlighting when you selecting that.
    If you have any solutions please let us know.

    I have having almost similar problem. The difference is that it is other way around.
    The problem is from Development server instead from production. I am not using slandered template.
    I have done following but fail to resolve it-
    1) Loading templates using WAD gives inconsistency error. Object "...." is inconsistent.
    Recalling query in QD returns following two errors "BEx transport request is not available or not suitable 0", "Choose an existing request 0"
    2) While running the query using TX RSRT2 (Query Monitor support package X), returns error "An error has occurred in the script of this page" Line 11039, Char 1, Error Access is denied and so on...
    3) ICM ok, Services are checked.
    4) SM50 log does not give any clues
    5) There is no URL issue.
    6) BW Functionalities are active.
    Could some suggest?

    I have an image (Co. logo) placed in the header of a
    template. Topics are attached to the template. I also have a
    separate page that has hyperlinks to the the Topics in the several
    books I have in the project.
    When I generate (WebHelp) project and view the output, here
    is what I see:
    If I open any topic by directly going to a book and then
    clicking on the topic, then I see the Co. Logo/image it is supposed
    to be pulling from the Template. However, if I view the same Topic
    by accessing it from a navigation page in which all the Topics are
    hyperlinked then the top header does not show.
    I am bit preplexed with these two separate displays of the
    same topic. One showing the image in the header and the other not.
    Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

    Only you will know for sure what you are dealing with, but I do not see the same complete url code in the header of the page you say has a problem.  I only see the page filename linked (not http:///www...,  just home.html).  It may be a case of those pages not using the same template.

  • Positioning problems develop with template

    I have been developing a template or templates for a site in order to make child pages, there will be some variations in these pages but would like them to remain as similar as possible and use the same style sheet if possible.  The overall page is simple and works OK but as the content variations solidify as does the css to accommodate it problems arise.  It starts as a body, wrapper, header (includes logo, and navigation table) left col, right col and a footer. I wanted to be able to have more than 12 thumbs and keep the page at 600px height so a scroll bar was needed. I put an AP div in the left column the full width of the col and the height of four thumb frames and the problems start, The heading over it cannot scroll with the content so it must be outside the AP div.  In a browser it drops under the table and its div. I went through all css rules for the assoc. divs  zeroing margins & padding, but it didn't work so I nested this AP div in another the full side of the left col. while that worked I don't Know why it moved in the first place, or why all the margin zeroing for the #leftColumn a  link, the #leftColumn and #content did nothing.  Is the Nested AP divs the way to go, and should I go back and take out all the margin and padding changes that did nothing?  the pages are athttp://www.thunderbirdtrading.ca/Test-1.dwt this is the page with the shift, and uses the first style sheet, the corrected page is Test-2 using the second sheet and the odd thing is that Test-3 views correctly using the third style sheet which doesn't have nested AP divs

    I would like to be able to change the left column table to 3 4 & 6 row tables (they are library items) to make different pages, also the right column block of text in Test-1 and Test-2 for the two column table in Test-3, is it advisable or possible to write css rules for different content appearing in the same div? That is one template making many templates by changing library items all using the same style sheet? Are there guidelines as to when to attach a second sheet?

  • Building my first CS6 Fluid grid in DW and why am I having problems saving as template?

    When I save my page as a template and then add a new page based on the template my css files do not automatically attached plus the Title of the page is locked.  Has anyone else had this same problem?  Any ideas?

  • Migrating SP 2007 site which is using the template Project Workspace (Id 6215) to SP 2013

    Hi,
    We have our SharePoint 2007 with project server installed on it. It is only one server having all of the components including SQL server and SP 2007. We are planning to migrate one of the site which is using the
    Project Workspace Template(Id 6215)  to the SP 2013 environment using Database
    Attach Method.
    Questions:
    1) Is there any workaround available we can migrate the site to SP 2013 without
    installing project server? 
    2) If there is no other workaround, we may need the justification or supports articles to share with our management.

    Hi,
    According to your description, my understanding is that the error occurred when you tested the database.
    I recommend to check if the site template exists in the folder located at C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\14\TEMPLATE\1033\XML.
    If yes, then restart the SharePoint machine and run the PowerShell command Test-SPContentDatabase again.
    If not, please re-install the template to see if the issue still occurs.
    If the sites with issue are no longer needed, then you can delete the sites with issue. Or you can
    rename the site template with a standard template id.

  • Want to change the template format for handouts

    I have figured out how to do basic adjustments to the template, however, I have some problems.
    I like the "use tables" in the handouts, because they are much too big otherwise.  However, when saving to word and then converting to PDF, the text from the slide notes wraps over the blank lines so the student can make their own notes.  (I have attached a picture to show this.)
    I didn't think this was a big deal, I would just not use the tables.  However, the slides take 3/4 of the page!  How can I reduce the size of the slides on the handout?

    sigh... if only we could actually SEE the attachments!
    If you really want us to see an image, please don't attach it. When you attach something it has to be reviewed and approved. If you insert inline using the camera icon it is visible immediately.
