anyone has a solution for this error:
An error has occurred: The viewstate is invalid for this page and might be corrupted.

Hi Vilari,
Do a small test to test your connection.
-Right Click on desktop ->
Create new text document->
Save as test.UDL->
double click and test connection by selecting driver name,datasource name,user id and password.
Click on Test Connection.
It should be succeed.
Database Vendor Code is the error returned by the database client/server.Its not a Crystal Report Error.Check Microsoft's web site for more info on what that error means.
Likely the client has not been in stalled or configured or both.
Also check that proper DSN is configured or not.
As you are using Oracle make sure that a TNSNAMES.ORA file exists and is in the proper place and accessible. See the operating system specific manual for details on the required name and location.
Check to see that the service name exists in one of the TNSNAMES.ORA files and add it if necessary.
Make sure there are no syntax errors anywhere in the file. Particularly look for unmatched parentheses or stray characters. Any error in a TNSNAMES.ORA file makes it unusable.

Error '80070002' when running report with Crystal 9

Hi,
A client of mine is using Crystal 9 designer and RAS. We are trying to get them to upgrade but in the mean time when ever we create a new report we get the following error:
Error '80070002'
(there is also a random file path but can't show this for privacy reasons)
From what I can make out the current set up appears to be ok: they have the correct SDK files in the right place on the production application server.
These files point to the RAS which sits on the QA application server.
When we run the report through Crystal designer the reports runs fine, however when we run it through our HR application we get the above error.
Strange thing is though all of the pre-existing reports work fine...which is why I think the set up must be correct otherwise none of the reports would run, this is only happening with new reports we are trying to create.
It's like the page tries to connect to the RAS but gets kicked out.
I've tried seraching this and other forums but have not seen anybody else with this error.
Any one got any ideas?

Moved to .NET BOE SDK forum ( assuming this is a ASP.NET app )
First thing to try is to turn logging on for RAS, stop the RAS server and add "-trace -crpetrace 7" ( I think these worked for RAS 9 ) and then look in the logs to see what the actual error is reported by CE 9. The error you posted is a COM error.
Next we need to know if this is a WEB app or Windows App and what Dev language you wrote it in?
What happens if you create a New report using the same database tables and info?

Error when running a report on CMC

Error in File Maintenance Costs by Work Code: Max processing time or Max records limit reached .
I can run this report through Crystal Reports 9 installed on my desktop and do not have any problems having data returned. However, when I upload it to the console and try to run it through CMC I get the above error.
Any suggestions?

Thank you for your help. I had to make a change in the CR Processing Server so your answer put me in the right direction.
We are using CR Server 2008.

Missing column at the end of report in Crystal report server 2008 VI

When we run the reports in Crystal report server 2008 VI, for some reports we see the last column is missing some characters. I have few reports that show numbers with decimals at the end of the report, but in CMC it cuts the number at the start of the decimal. I only see the numbers upto the decimal. When I run the same report in Crystal designer, everything works fine.
I had the same problem with CR developer 2008 and I used the following code to fix it:

Install the same default printer as what you have onto the CRS server then what you should be the same. Also, which viewer are you using, ActiveX, DHTML or Java on the CRS Server?

Error running reports from Crystal Server XI R2 with datasets

Hi, sorry if my english is not good. I'm from Spain.
I have a problem. I'm programming with Visual Basic .NET 2008.
I'm using Crystal Reports Server and programming under Visual Basic to take reports from crystal Server, changing the tables from the report to datasets and scheduling this report.
Crystal server change connections to CrystalReports.Dataset.
Preview reports from server sends me an error "DataBase connector unknown"
If I run this report (with datasets) into my VBNET application (into a CrystalDecisions.Windows.Forms.CrystalReportViewer control), IT WORKS!!!
I need help because I need to schedule these reports (to send them by email, export to PDF formats, ...)

Reporting off of a dataset is reporting off of a disconnected datasource. The reason your application works is beacuse you most likely populating a dataset in your application and passing it to the report at the same time. When scheduling, there is no interaction with the report so unless the report is using an xml file on disk as its datasource, how can it retrieve data?
To get around this, you can build a dll (.net data provider) that returns either a dataset or datatable and point your report to this dll. this way, when the report is executed, it loads the dll which fetches the data for you.
- so the first step is to compile a dll that returns a dataset or datatable.
- to design your report off of this dll open the database expert and create a new ADO.NET connection.
- in the File Path area, click the ellipsis ("...") button to browse to your dll and make sure the selected File Type is ".Net DataSet Provider".
- once the dll is selected, you can choose the dataset/table returned by the dll.
If your method in the dll is parameterized, it will add a parameter to the report (similar to stored procedure parameters.
note: the location of your dll must be in the same path on the CR Server as it was when you designed your report in order for it to be loaded correctly. I usually put the dll in a folder that I know will exist on both machines.

"Failed to open report" error while running reports using Crystal Report

We have a web application develeoped in ASP.Net, SQL Server 2005 , Crystal Reports 10.0. Sometimes if a large number of users run reports from their individual nodes they receive an error "Failed to open report ", if we restart the IIS they are able to run the reports. In addition to this the users also sometimes get the error "Maximum Report limit attained". Can any one provide me with a solution other than restarting the IIS.

Use the close and dispose method for Report object. Its a best practice to code also gc.collect for garbage collection.

Save Crystal 2008 report as XI -- or can you run 2008 report in XI?

Hi,
Is it possible to save a report created in Crystal 2008 report as an XI verion?
If not, is it possible to run a report created in Crystal 2008 report in XI and Crystal Report Server XI if none of the new features in 2008 are used?
I want to purchase an additional copy of the application, and am trying to decide which version I can use when the bulk of the reports are run on CRS XI...

Good feedback, I've a couple of things I'm still curious about...
1. Does the warning pop up every time you open the report created in 2008 in XI?
2. Including on the XI REPORT SERVER rather than the desktop client?
I ask as I'm concerned that if I create reports and upload them to the XI server it'll cause no end of user annoyance if they have to click through a warning message every time the want to run/load the report.

Data missing in InfoView report but Crystal Report runs fine on my PC

I have created a Crystal Report (XI) which combines data from 2 datasources. Firstly from a postgres db (connected to by ODBC) and second from an Informix db (connected to by ODBC).
The report runs fine on my PC but when I publish the report into Business Objects XI and run the report in InfoView, the report runs successfully but displays no details rows. The title, page headers, group headers all display but no data detail rows are shown. There is no conditional suppression on the details section of the report.
The ODBC drivers install ed on the Business Objects XI Enterprise server are the same as the ones on my PC.
If the report is adapted to only use just one of the datasources then it displays the data fine in Business Objects. So it is just when the datasources are compbined in one report that the data is not displayed.
Any Ideas?

Unable to Run Report on Crystal Reports Server 2008

I have a weird issue with one particular report. The report is quite basic in which it dumps all of our patients via a single table from SQL Server. There are no parameters or select experts. The report has been written to group by the patient's SSN. I then have a formula written that hides all of the patients that only appear once under that SSN. Basically, the report is only displaying patients with duplicate SSN. The report works fine inside of Crystal Reports 2008. There is approximately 137,000 rows and after the formula to only show duplicates, it shows about 900 records. This report takes only 6 seconds to run inside of Crystal Reports 2008. However, when I upload the report onto Crystal Reports Server 2008, the report starts to load and then I get a message from Internet Explorer that says "Stop Running this Script." If I continue to let the script run, Internet Explorer grows to use 3.6GB of memory and the report never loads. I am not sure why this is the only report that is having a problem. Is there some maximum number of groups that Crystal has?

I have checked the following directories and I haven't been able to see any errors related to my problem. I checked C:\Windows\system32\logfiles and C:\Program Files\Business Objects\BusinessObjects Enterprise 12.0\logging. However, if I schedule the report, it works just fine. I just can't run the report on demand without receving the "Stop Running Scripts" error.

Run a report developed on Crystal Reports XI from java

I am trying to run a report developed on Crystal reports XI from my Java Web Project.
I used the configuration specified in:

but I am getting the error:
"com.crystaldecisions.sdk.occa.report.lib.ReportSDKServerException: There is no server specified.---- Error code:-2147217390 Error code name:serverNotFound"
when the code reaches the line: oReportClientDocument.open(reportName, 0)
I am using Eclipse as SDK and Tomcat as Webserver.

How run stored procedure in Crystal report?

I have table from query in report, but first I need to run stored procedure in report.
How I need to do it?

I just used Add Command and added stored procedure in Database Fields, but I think the procedure doesn't work in report. Maybe I need add new commant and write there:

It's doesn't work. What I need to do?

Run a report as output format "MS Word" under Crystal Report Server 11 R2

May I confirm any patches I can download to fix the problem ?
The problem is if I set the output format as MS Word 2003/2007 instead of crystal report when "Schedule" a report in Crystal Report Server. I found a problem all reports cannot be show on the browser (with error message "Error on page." at the bottom of browser). I need quit the infoview and login again.

Can not run complex report with ReportClientDocument using POJO beans.

Any help would be very appreciated I have been stack on this issue for the last 4 hours.
My report has parameters, a ResultSet and subreports that themselves have both parameters and ResultSet.
The report runs well in Crystal Report Designer but not on my application with ReportClientDocument API.

If I understand correctly, you create a local report which choose report from Report Server. You have two query parameters in the report which are returned by stored procedure. Currently, you cannot get default values for these parameters when run the report.
Based on my test, if we haven’t configure these parameter with Available Values, we can reproduce the same issue. Also, caching issue may cause the same issue. If the issue is persist, please delete the corresponding report in the report server. Then, redeploy
it to check.

Open ECC report in Crystal Reports

Hi,
Question, hope you have some info on this...
I want to try & open a custom report which is built in an ECC system (report is currently run as a "Yxxx" transaction) in Crystal Reports. Purpose is to further edit and format the report using Crystal Reports functions.
Does anyone know what path to follow here? Do I have to set up a new connection for the given source system?
Thanks for any tips advice.
Ps. I have Crystal Reports 2008 and also the BI Integration Kit (not sure if this is used / required).

There are transports that the SAP Integration Kit delivered. you may have already installed this on your BW, but they would need to be installed on ECC if you want to query there. Once these are installed, Crystal should be able to see an SAP - Table, Cluster, Function Data Connection allowing you to connect to your ECC.
You should review the SAP Integration Kit doc - it spells out authorizations required, how to handle security, etc.
