Disable role assignment at task level

Hi Experts,
We have a requirement where role should be assigned at task level only and not at sub task level.Any configuration for this ? if not, How to achieve this by development?

    Hi Thirupathi,
    There are a couple of things you can try:
    - Agent assignment gets buffered in HR, normally refreshed at midnight. Use txn SWU_OBUF to refresh them manually.
    - Are all agents also possible agents of the task or is the task defined as a general task?
    - (just adding the obvious) make sure your task is in status READY, else it would have been reserved by someone.

  • Error in assigning role to multiple task

    Hi,
    We are using BAPI BAPI_BUS2175_ROLE_ASSIGN_ADD to assign role to task. It is working fine if we are assigning different role to different tasks. But if we assign the same role to different tasks in a project, it is giving dump while saving the data.
    We are using following sequence in the code:
    1. BAPI_BUS2172_LOAD to load the project
    2. BAPI_BUS2175_ROLE_ASSIGN_ADD to assign role to task
    3. BAPI_CPROJECTS_COMMIT_WORK to save the changes.
    So when BAPI_CPROJECTS_COMMIT_WORK is executing, it is giving dump as follows.
      The exception 'CX_DPR_FATAL_ERROR' was raised, but it was not caught anywhere
      along
    the call hierarchy.
    Since exceptions represent error situations and this error was not
    adequately responded to, the running ABAP program
      'CL_DPR_AUTHORIZATION_SERVICES=CP' has to be
    terminated.
    Could you please let me know what may be the reason for getting dump.

    In cProjects, I go to the below tab Projects > Resources > Tasks.
    Here I do an assignment of Role to a Task and assignment of Resource to a Task.
    Could you please tell me as to where does this information gets stored.(ie which tables).
    And could you pleae tell me as to how do we differentiate between the Task, Roles and Resources in the internal table created.
    Because the internal table consists of Task Guid, Participant Guid and Entity Guid.

  • Role Assignment to Workflow Tasks

    Hi Experts,
    Any hints on below requirement please :
    Details:
    1. For a role in transaction PFCG, I don't see the Workflow tab
    2. For the same role in transaction SUIM, I can see the Workflow tab and the tasks assigned.
    3. Now, I have a list of workflow tasks and I need to assign Role X, Role Y to all of them
    What is the correct and best way out to do this
    - Role-Task Assignment ::: Is it enough if I add all the workflow tasks in SUIM transaction(workflow tab) for both roles X,Y
    or
    - Task-Role Assignment ::: Can I assign both Roles X,Y in pftc transaction for each of the workflow tasks
    or
    - Both need to be done

    Hi Ali,
    Answers for your questions:
    1. Transfer Missing Elements: YES
         With this step, new elements will create in the task container based on the method container elements and creates the binding b/w them. It is better to choose YES and after that, if you dont require the binding, you can delete it for respective elements.
    2. YES, we need to follow the same procedure.
    3. Basically production system is having the mandatory configurations like RFC destinations and Classify tasks are general, probably no other activities are required.
    4. For this, I am also waiting for other folks reply.

  • Approval Task for role assignment

    Hello again,
    is there any manual for approval tasks with the SAP Provisioning Framework? There is a task group called Request new business role, but if I use this, the approver approves the request, but the status of the role assignment is "in process"and never changed to "OK".
    I only found these manuals:
    - How To... Create Approval Tasks in SAP NetWeaver Identity Management
    - Implementing role approvals
    But both documents didn't show an end-to-end role-request-and-approval workflow.

    the web-enabled task "Request New Business Role" and the including approval task are only examples.
    To create own approval processes for your projects you have to understand how approval tasks and pending values work.

    I am trying to assign Standard Task to Role from PFTC tcode->Agent Assignment->Create, then I am getting pop up there when I select "Role" then I am not getting any values.
    What will be reason that Role is not displayed in the F4 help?

    1. Created a Role
    2. On double clicking the Role you will be get new screen. There go to "Workflow" tab.
    3. click on "Workflow Tasks" button.
    4. Select Task from "Add Task" button.
    5. Save.

  • Assigning My Tasks according to Role Hierarchy

    Hi,
    I have to configure EP's <b>My Tasks</b> in such a way that Project Manager can assign the tasks to his team members but team member should not be able to assign the task to his Manager. i.e. I want to assign the task hierarchically.
    Can some one tell that how can I configure My Tasks for this requirement? I am using EP6.

    First thanks to everyone providing me lots of information regarding OS & Java internals
    The problem that I am facing is,
    There are multiple applications running on one Solaris box say Application-1 and Application-2. Now due several design holes Application-1 eating up most of the CPU cycles(Not all the time but during upgrades, reporting etc) Please note Application-1 need to run no matter whether it is eating CPU or not.
    Now Application-2 is having two sub component
    1. Reading binary data from several clients (High priority task)
    2. Parsing those data(well performance tuned java code with high CPU utilization)
    In this above scenario if Application-2 sub component (2) runs along with Application-1 which consumes most of the CPU cycle then the whole system will be state to function.
    I know the answer will be to tune the code which eats the max CPU and fix the problem, but you need to consider this is one application of 7 years age and still the development is happening on top it.
    So only possible solution from my side to isolate the component I can reduce the priority of execution and wait till the component which can not be get delayed processing. Means yield Application-2 sub component &ndash; 2 for Application-1 to complete its processing.
    Sounds strange right? But I am not finding any other ways to solve this issue immediately
    So the solution I figured out is to have a component to check the System recourse Utilization and yield Application-2 sub component-2 till have enough CPU to proceed(Again I know it really a bad way to solve an issue)

    I'd like to add custom attributes to a role : "District security officer" and "Department security officer" (Can those be used for searching users? -- i.e. users lookup)
    When the role is to be assigned to a user, I'd like the workflow engine to open tasks for the members entered on those custom attributes.
    Also, Is it possible to assign a Role instead of the users in the custom attributes ?
    Meaning, Approving user assignment of a role named "Role A" will be done by users that belong to "Role_A_Approvers".
    Will appreciate pointers to the online docs, I've search and didn't find information related to the usecase I've described.

    I'm not sure I understand how the proposed approach helps avoid the decoupling of users to role admins attribute.
    The intention was to have two roles, "Role_A" and "Role_A_Approver" where people that belong to "Role_A_Approver" will be assigned workflow tasks whenever Role_A is to be granted to end-users.
    Currently, each role has a "Role Admin" attribute, this attribute however holds a user and not a container of users (role)..
    Will appreciate pointers to the online docs, I've search and didn't find information related to the usecase I've described.

                   My requirement is to download notifications based on main work center.The downloaded notifications contains task level person responsible.If the notification contains four task assigned to different persons.Let suppose one task is assigned to the mobile user and other three task to another user.Now the first mobile user should able to edit the task  assigned to him ,but he should able to see all other task in disable mode that are assigned to other user.Iam using agentry work manager 5.3

  • Show a menu of roles in the Top Level Navigation

    Hello,
    Imagine a scenario where a user has many roles assigned to him (say 40 roles). In that case the user will have 40 tabs in the first level of the top level navigation and by default a horizontal scroller appears on the right part of the screen clicking on which the roles will scroll horizontally. If the user has to go to the 40th role he has to click quite a lot.
    Is it possible to have a menu option clciking on which we get the all the list of roles in the top level navigation in a vertical list and we can directly jump to any role clicking on the entry in the list ?
    Something like what we get in a tab strip in Web Dynpro.

    You need to work on navigation tag libraries to extend number of levels .

  • Role info not appearing once role assignment request is submitted from UI

    Hi Everyone,
    We have a strange problem in our project in IDM 7.2 SP8 where IDM role concept is used which contains privileges (could be role/profile) of backend systems.
    Usually when ever a role (i.e IDM role) assignment request is submitted from UI, the activity with the associated info (like user details, role details, audit ID) should be stored in MXI_LINK table from where the info will be fetched and used in next stages of the processing
    Even though the information is getting available for most of the cases for all users but some times for few users once the role assignment request is initiated from UI there is no info is getting available in MXI_LINK table corresponding to this activity which is strange.
    Because of this problem even though user submits role assignment request no role info getting passed to IDM, set to pending state for the user which is getting meaning of user not submitted any role assignment request at all.
    Can any one suggest what are the things that gets involved between these two steps and any troubleshooting hints are highly appreciable.

    Is this a situation you recreate at will? In other words, is it always happening on the same users? If so, you could put a trace on that user's account then try to add the role and see what that trace log shows. Additionally, you could just follow the links in the chain of the various tasks that kick off when you do a role assignment and check each task / job's job log and see what that tells you. There's got to be an error somewhere along the way that's preventing this from executing properly.

  • Role assignment not working

    Hi everyone,
    I am trying to assign different roles to different users for GRC - Risk Management 10.0; however it seems like standard roles don't have any affect on type of activity. I have maintained various levels of roles (e.g. risk owner, risk expert, risk manager, etc) using PFCG and assigned almost every role to the users; but it doesn't give them the authorization to create or edit anything, they can only display.
    The only workaround for this was assigning a role with the authorization object GRFN_USER (with 02 Change value enabled) or assigning SAP_GRC_FN_ALL (Power user role which also contains object GRFN_USER). However this would allow users to do "anything" they want which obviously isn't what I seek.
    I have tried changing customization options such as Maintain Custom Agent Determination Rules and Maintain Entity Role Assignment, it hasn't solved anything so far.
    I urgently require your assistance on this issue. Thank you.

    I 'm facing same kind of problem.
    Case 1:
    I tried with:
                      Assigning users to group (abap role) which didn't worked.
                      Assigning UME Role to group (abap role) which worked. Then i assigned the user to the UME Role, but the user is not getting the backend authorizations.
                      Assigning the portal role to the group (abap role), then when i assiged a user to the abap role from R/3 automatically the user is getting the portal role.
    How can i do the same from portal?
    Case2:     
    While distributing the portal roles to the ABAP system (System Administrator -> Permissions -> SAP Authorizations), the status is showing as "Role transfer compleated". but when i checked from the R/3 transaction WP3R, there are no portal roles.
    Why are the portal roles not getting transfered even though the status is green?

  • Importing From Excel file will not import assignments correctly where there are more than one assignment per task

    I am trying to import an excel file ... see below.   It appears if you select both Tasks and Assignments tables it will not allow you to do this, says file is not in a project recognized format.  So I import Tasks tab first then run the
    wizard again and import the assignments tab while selecting merge with project option.   This works with one exception:
    If there are more than one assignment per task.  It does not merge in the 2nd assignment, only the first.
    Is there a way to import a task with 2 or more assignments?

    I did a quick test using your example although I didn't include the Predecessor or Outline Level fields to keep things a little simpler. I imported the Excel data into a new Project file with a single import of task and assignment data. It is very important
    to set up the Excel Workbook correctly. On Sheet 1 I entered the task data (Name, Duration, Start). I did not include the ID or finish date as that is redundant - Project generates its own ID and will calculate the finish date based on the start date and duration.
    On Sheet 2 I entered the assignment data basically just as you show it except I didn't include the Units.
    The data imported as expected.
