Running OpenSparc T1 1.7 EDK design under Cygwin?
Hi,
is it possible to use Cygwinfor running the EDK OpenSparcT1 design? if yes, is it the same process for setting the environment variables or not?

Try XUPV5/ML509 platform. ML411 is previous generation and is not worth debugging.
EDK for XUPV5 is included in the download bundle.

@I run a Windows 8.1 - Photoshop CS5 under Parallels on an iMac one year old and both having the latest OS. I use a NIK plugin "VIVEZA" which run fine for years without a problem. Latelt and without a reason, the NIK plugin has gone corrupt, (can not use it more the 2 corrections after a get a black background message that there is not enough memory) and the system stops running and a must restart is required. How do I fix this terrible problem?
If it requires a Photoshop CS5 re-install, (I belief that it may fix the problem) and re-install the two third party plugins (NIK Viveza) and (Onone Perfect Resize) how and where do I get to the proper Adobe upload page to do that.
I have tried to fix this problem by changing the memory allocations, I have spend many hours on it and are very disgusted with it but it needs to be fixed. The current memory settings are;
Ram available = 1588 MB
Range = 873 -1143 MB
Recommended Photoshop usage range = 857 however I have tried every setting to max and in between. Nothing works. Current setting = 1588 (max)
The Photoshop I use is registered, I have product # and order # .Contact NIK for updated/upgraded versions of their plug-ins. They have been having a lot of issues with their plug-ins.

Just as my title says, I have a query which I've written in a query window and it works perfectly.
But when I try to add the query code into the view designer, it throws a Syntax error.
Error in ON clause near '('.Unable to parse query text.
Also, when running the query from the view designer (pressing red exclamation mark) I get a different error.
SQL Execution Error.Executed SQL statement: SELECT Sku, ParentSku, UPC, ...Error Source: .Net SqlClient Data ProviderError Message: Timeout expired. The timeout period elapsed prior to completion of the operation or the server is not responding.
Has anyone else experienced this and is there any workaround?
I have tried to create the view with T-SQL (CREATE VIEW etc.), but when opening it in the view designer I get the error from the 1st image.

Yes, I have faced similar issue. I had a View and it was working totally fine but when once I opened it in via right click - View Design, it was giving parse error.
Cause is that Query designer parse and executes the query without error but the way View designer works, it can't parse it.
Later I ignored View desinger and just used T-SQL like CREATE/ALTER view.
Workaround is to do right click on View - Script View as - CREATE To/ ATER To.
Regarding Timeout error, again the issue with View designer which couldn't execute query in there and ended up with timeout error.
If your SELECT query and SELECT * FROM YourView works fine in Query designer, you are good to go.

Running SQL Queries in PeopleSoft Application Designer

I'd like to find out which peoplesoft tables contain two fields x and y. I have the sql query to do that, but I don't know where I can run that query from in application designer. Its quite possible that it will be done from "Query" window in Application Designer.
Can someone tell me the steps to do this? I'm very new to PeopleSoft.

Askar1. Open the QUERY tool from the AppDesigner.
2. File/New
3. Expand the record
4. Click on PSRECFIELD
5. Drag and drop to the right part of the window
6. At the left window, drag and drop the fields RECNAME from the left (from the record PSRECFIELD) into the tab Field at the right
7. At the left window, expend the record hierarchy of PSRECFIELD
8. Expand PSRECDEN Record Definition
9. Right click on PSRECFIELD Field definition, then "New join"
10. Choose Standard join
11. At the right, click on tab Criteria
12. Drag and drop the FIELDNAME field from the first PSRECFIELD (A)
13. Double click on Expression 2
14. In the new window, enter one of the first column name you want to retrieve
15. Drag and drop the FIELDNAME field from the second PSRECFIELD (C)
16. Double click on Expression 2
17. In the new window, enter one of the second column name you want to retrieve
18. Double click on Logical column at the right until to have "AND"
19. Click on tab Result
20. Click on Run query (or File/Run current query)
21. Enjoy with your results.
Note, QUERY tool will query the Peoplesoft tables, on the other hands, the Peoplesoft metamodel. If you have built objects directly against the database without having used AppDesigner, you won't be able to retrieve the data.

Running javafx on a 64 bit machine under Windows 7
I want to run javafx on a 64 bit machine under Windows 7. I receive the following log when running simple "Hello World" program:

Looking at sys requirements for javafx, I see that only 32 bit windows is supported. I did, though, succeed in doing a (64 Bit) build within netbeans after added a JAVA_HOME environment variable to point to my JDK directory (from Win 64 bit download).
Please can anyone explain what I need to do so that (preferably) a javafx application runs 64 bit or if no choice how I can direct a 32 bit run without effecting most of the development tools that do support 64 bit?
By the way, when running from command line:

What is causing this? It usually happens overnight while I'm not using my phone... so the first time I touch it in the morning it shuts off and resets. The problem started occuring after Sprint switched from "On Demand" to "Pocket Express". I had no idea of the switch, so when I clicked on it the phone automatically updated to the new application. Since then, my phone has been a mess. I deleted the application, performed a hard reset and downloaded it on my phone again.. but still there's problems. This morning, I deleted the "Pocket Express" for good. I figured it wasn't worth it if it's causing all these problems.
Help... please. I'm a novice, so please make sure the solution is something I can understand. Also, do I need to go through my Palm Desktop/Hot Sync program on my computer and delet files too?

The backup folder contains all 3rd party programs and settings for your device. When you sync, the backup folder is reloaded onto your device and will bring back the 3rd party programs.

Using DB_REGISTER under cygwin returns "Permission Denied"

The issue here is Windows file locking, which works differently
from POSIX flock semantics. On Unix/POSIX systems, file locking
only interacts with other attempts to lock the same region of the
file. The assumption is that all processes will follow some
locking protocol before attempting to read/write that region
of the file. On Windows, locking a region of a file prevents
reads or writes (depending on the lock mode). This is already
addressed for native Windows and needed to be addressed on
Cygwin as well. This fix will be rolled forward into the
Berkeley DB mainline.

In BEx Report Designer, I keep getting short dumps and timeouts when trying to design flashy reports.

We are running ECC 6.0, BI2004s, and SEM 6.0. All in Sandbox/Dev environment.
We are NOT running EP.
I am aware that we have some memory issues, and we're adding 4Gb more on Thursday....can the solution be that simple, or are these errors telling me we need Portals installed? I was under the impression that Portals were NOT required for 2004s, so long as you did not use WAD etc.
Any thoughts??You would need to install portals(EP) for the report designer to work. When you design your flashy report in designer and try it launch it... it would try to connect to EP to publish it. It bombs when it doesnt find the portal.
On a personal note: Report designer have a long way to go when you think the output would be something like crystal .. NO not yet ... But SAP just got started ... I think they would be there pretty soon. And they promise many enhancements as of SP 13.. so lets all wait. -
Running DS-5 armcc compiled code (PIC) under Windows EC 2013
Hi All,
i just wanted to know if it is generally (officially) supported to run code that is compiled via the armcc (5.03) from DS-5 under Windows Embedded Compact 2013. Or if this is discouraged (reasons?).
The problem i have:
The bootloader contains some code that must be run during Windows EC Startup. So this code is loaded from the Flash, copied to RAM (reserved and commited via VirtualAlloc and marked as executable) and then the functions are called via FunctionPointers.
The code is compiled and linked as position independent and the stack base register is set accordingly before any function is called via pointer and reset when it returns.
This works in about 9 out of 10 tests without problems. But sometimes i get all sort of exceptions (Data Abort, Prefetch Abort, Unknown Instruction, ...). Most (if not all) of the time they occur when the position independent code runs on one of the two
cores.
The code runs on an i.MX6DQ (dual).
If i only enable one core, i can't reproduce the problem (i assume that multicore-handling and multithreading in WinEC 2013 Update 10 is really well tested and works without problems, so this can't be the real reason).
I've thoroughly checked and debugged the code, i'm really sure there is no illegal access or other problem with the code itself.
Could it be a problem to call code compiled via DS-5 armcc? I've compared assembler code that Visual Studio/Platform Builder generates with code that DS-5 generates (but i'm no assembler expert). I can't see any obvious special code that is added by Visual
Studio/Platform Builder (i.e. that functions need) that is not there in the DS-5 code.

SebastianSo I think you could be able to image some code for ROM from another compiler and without knowledge of Windows CE. However, if the code will be called from Windows CE, this becomes more difficult requiring very careful isolation from the
MMU state, processor state, kernel/user mode, etc. Code that works great when called from the bootloader might not work at all from Windows CE itself. The main problem with mixing code from different compilers is the object file format and conventions for
entry and public names. Very unlikely that you'd be able to "link" code from any other compiler with PB-compiled code.
You might think about the x86 image which can easily call BIOS from the bootloader but which can't even begin to call BIOS from CE itself. The problem isn't the compiler (which is different), but the operating environment differences and assumptions.

Help! This new version of Lion is making me miserable. The fan runs constantly, the computer is hot and battery life has dropped to under 2 hours on a fully charged battery. I updated yesterday, nothing but misery today. Even running the mail program alone make the fan run like I have everything open. Using Pages, iPhoto, and iTunes simultaneously makes the computer blistering hot.Yesterday, I could use all three without any trouble. Any suggestions to either jettison 10.7.3 or how to fix without any expense? I haven't modified this computer at all, it is as it came from the box in August 2011: 2.3 GHz Intel Core i5, 4GB 1333 Mhz DDR3.
I updated to Lion 10.7.3 and started noticing my fans running on high all the time and my battery would drain 2-3x faster. I was going to take my computer into an Apple store until I found this thread. I did the SMC reset by shutting down my computer, plugging it in, and then pushing down shift+control+option while also pushing down the power button. Nothing happens on the screen and the computer did not turn on. I then released all the buttons at once after holding them down for 10 seconds.
After that, I simply turned my computer back on and everything seems to be working fine. The fans are not blasting anymore. I have a newer MacBook Pro where I can't access my batteries. The SMC reset may differ for other types of laptops. -
Can i run Mac OS X on Mac Mini under a "bare metal" Hypervisor?
Unfortunately, I can't leave Windows because of heavy amount of legacy software which cannot be easily transfered to Mac OS X (for example, databases running on MSSQL).
On the other side I like Mac Mini hardware for its size, noise level and power consumption and want to try Mac OS X (buying it only to replace Max OS X with Windows would be insane).
So, to avoid buying a separate computer, I want to run both operating systems simultaneously under a "bare metal" Hypervisor (VMWare ESXi, Hyper-V etc.).
Using BootCamp to run either Mac OS X or Windows doesn't fit my needs. Running Windows as a guest OS in Parallels - doesn't fit them too.
Both OS should be able to run at the same time, and Windows should be on 24h a day.
I know that a hypervisor can be installed on Mac Mini. I know also that running Windows on it won't be a problem.
The only question is - will the Mac OS X Lion run under hypervisor?VMWare ESXi should support Lion and Mountain Lion, both in terms of it having been done and beeing allowed by Apple's license.
Note: Apple's license only allows hosting two virtual OS X machines on a single host.
In addition to ESXi, there is also Parallels Server for Mac Bare Metal Edition. See http://www.parallels.com/uk/products/server/mac/baremetal/technical-resources/ I merely mention it for completeness, I would stick to ESXi since it is 'free'.
You could consider running OS X as the host operating system and Windows as a guest VM using VirtualBox. VirtualBox can be configured to start automatically and invisibly on the Mac host. You could then use Microsoft RDP to connect to the running VM. Its services like SQL Server would of course be running and accessible as normal. -
Chkdsk run every time I startup Windows Vista under Bootcamp in 10.6
I have Windows Vista 32 bits installed on bootcamp partition and it work fine in 10.5.
Now I have upgrade my MBP (early 2008) to Snow Leopard, and upgrade WIndows Bootcamp drivers to version 3.0 from Snow Leopard DVD. Both installation were completed and run fine.
The problem I have now is: Whenever I used Mac OS, shut down, then restart the WIndows Vista by pressing Option key at Macbook Pro startup, Chkdsk will run evry time, checking integrity of the Windows boot partition. I have to wait for more than 20 minutes before Chkdsk fix all errors, then reboot, and press Options key to get back into WIndows Vista without Chkdsk running.
When I shut down Windows, and restart without goinb into Snow Leoprad, the boot process go OK without Chkdsk running.
But whenever I shut fown Winodws and use Snow Leopard, then get back in to startup Windows, Chdsk run again. This is very annoyingm, and never occured in 10.5
During Chkdsk session, the following errors occured and being fixed:
Deleting index entry ._501 in index $I30 of file 9028
Deleting index entry 501 in index $I30 of file 9028
and after all process finished, Chkdsk stated that: There is a blank space that allocated as used, and has been fixed.
Can any friend advise me what cause this problem? and How to correct it?
I understanfd that the ._501 is in .Trashes folder on Windows partiton. It must be altered wwhen I use Snow Leopard, and must have to do with Trash in Mac OSX 10.6.

The same index and file to be deleted by Chkdsk remain unchanged every time I boot Windows under bootcamp after using Mac OS. If I reboot Windows many many times without using Mac OS, the error never occur.
It must be Mac OSX Snow Leopard that is the culprit. Can any friend give me solution of how to solve this problem?

I am using the following function in my page I wish to run at page startup. Works fine in browsers, but not in Design view.

This does not seem to be executing as prettyPrint() is not being called in Design view as the CSS is not being applied. Any ideas how to get this to execute properly?

PS-No idea why the code pasted in as table.Scripts don't execute in Design View.
If you want to see a script in DW, you can try the Live View, but even that has issues. Preview in Browser is truly your best bet for seeing what your code does.
