Runtime Execption Message Mapping
Hi,
I have created a scenario, receiving a sequential text file. The receiving container (CT1)is a process container type:abstract interface. CT1 is specified as source message for the following transformation process. Target message is a CT2 specified as abstract interface and process container. The transformation process creates the above mentioned error. The messages mapping test in the design repository is successful.
Any ideas why this error occurs?
Cheers, Jo
Thanks for that hint. I still have problems to configure the adapter as required for the interface. The interface has an XML structure like :
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<ns:BPNO xmlns:ns="http://pcs.acn.com/basicdata">
<BPNO>12345</BPNO>
</ns:BPNO>
and the adapter either needs to have the document name or the adapter deletes the value of the fields like this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
- <ns:BPNO xmlns:ns="http://pcs.acn.com/basicdata">
<BPNO />
</ns:BPNO>
Any ideas how to specify the adapter?
Any help is appriciated!

How can we pick Message ID at runtime in message mapping?
Hi Experts,
I am working on a file to file Scenario.
Lets say I have a Field called SEQ_NO at target.
I want to populate it this with Message ID (MONI one) at runtime.
Is it possible? If Yes, How can we do this?Hi,
No It is not working fine.
Inside TEST----
> Parameter Tab< I had input MESSAGE_ID Against MessageId.
After that I run It, Got the error as Below:
17:48:17 Start of test
Runtime exception during processing target field mapping /ns0:MT_BANK_CUST_DET/File_Out/Header/SEQNO. The message is: Exception:[java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException] in class com.sap.aii.mappingtool.flib3.TextFunctions method substring[, com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.Context@6ec66ec6] com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.MessageMappingException: Runtime exception during processing target field mapping /ns0:MT_BANK_CUST_DET/File_Out/Header/SEQNO. The message is: Exception:[java.lang.StringIndexOutOfBoundsException] in class com.sap.aii.mappingtool.flib3.TextFunctions method substring[, com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.Context@6ec66ec6].
It is possible to get MESSAGE ID which we get in MONI for every message pass throught XI in message mapping itself?

Runtime error in message mapping.
Hi experts.
My scenario is File --> PI --> File.
During the message mapping there are a few RFC lockups.
I have configured an communication component for the RFC destination, and a Receiver communication channel to the RFC system.
When I am trying to check the message mapping and the operation mapping from the integration builder every thing works just fine.
In the interface determination i have configured the rfc parameter for the mapping.
When I am trying to run the hole process i receive an error saying:"Runtime exception from: java.lang.nullPointerException:
null at com.sap.guid.GUID.parsHEXguid(guid.java:1015)
reguars MaxHi.
As i have already said when I am trying to test the same operation mapping directly in the integration builder with the same message, it passes the mapping without any exceptions.
I think the catch may be in the fact that there are a few rfc calls inside the graphical mapping.
Any suggestions?
Regards Max. -
Hi Friends
My scenario is Idoc to RFC and , my mapping is working fine and executing successfully in the message map tab but , it is failing in the End to End case at runtime with GUIDFormatException error, can anyone please help on this , I have searched the forum and no proper or concrete answers are available , creating a separate or new channel is not an option.Hi,
Check in which step you are receiving this error
1st check in SXMB_MONI/trace
2nd If the above is successful then check in rwb/comm channel monitoring/receiver rfc channel.

Runtime Exception in Message mapping
Hi Experts,
I have a scenario of IDoc to <third party adapter> cXML.
The message caught the below error
RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation : Runtime exception during processing target field mapping ......./ShipTo[2]/Address/PostalAddress/DeliverTo (suppressed field). The message is: Exception:[java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 7] in class com.sap.xi.tf._M_IDOC_to_cXML_ method getShipToContact$[, , com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.Q2QFunctionWrapper@253fdd8a]
Please suggest on what went wrong, as everything is working fine before.
Thanks in advance.
MKMk:
Please check if the source fields which are mapped to the target are all generated by the SAP Script and make sure that they have data so that when they are mapped to the target. If they are mapped and source fields don't have data then it may error out. Sometimes SAP Script might not generate a node if there is not data for it, make sure you handle that condition also.
RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation is
due to the missing TEXT_LINE element in the segment Z1VOBTH for the TEXT_ID 'INVOICE_TO_LOCATION'
I am not able to understand this. is Text_ID subelement of Text_Line?? Could you please post the complete error message as it is. -

Message mapping tab works fine ,runtime exception
Hi ,
Need some advice... I get a runtime messge mapping error ( system error) failing the substring logic although when i download the same payload and run in test tab it works fine. Has anyone encountered similar issue ?
Thank you.objects are active.Your second point is good ,but this error only happens when a load test is done , partciular messages throw runtime exception and fail in mapping on substring logic but when the same payload is downloaded and run via message mapping tabl it runs through. i will try disabling the substring logic nodes.
Secondly when i get a runtime exception ,i try to restart the same message and it goes thorugh successfully. So restarting in moni helps.... but does not explain why....
Thanks

Runtime exception caught in Message mapping
Hi,
I have a scenario where I am splitting the source message and map them to 3 different target structures.
When I test the scenario in the Mapping under Test tab it is throwing an error as follows:
RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Cannot produce target element /ns0:Messages/ns0:Message1/Target1/xmlJob. Check xml instance is valid for source xsd and target-field mapping fulfills requirements of target xsd.
The result for one of the target message in message mapping as follows: Is there some problem with the below lines in bold letters:There is a UDF which causing this transformation.
Please give some inputs on this.

Runtime Exception in Message mapping transformation.
hi Experts,
i did IDOC(MATMAS05) to File scenario.
if i tested the mapping in IR (Test tab), its working fine.
but when i triggered the IDOC from SAP R/3 system, it reaches to SAP PI and showing Mapping falure in SXMB_Moni.
then i took the payload from the MONI, and tesed with this payload in Mapping test tab in IR.
there it is showing as java null pointer exception.
can anybody tell me what is the problem here?
thanks,
kumarHi,
I think the required fields might not be occuring, if it occurs it might not have contianed any values thats the reason why message mapping is failing. For required fields you might have done some transformations which will not work if source required field has no values in it.
So kindly check and correct.

Not Able to Activate the Message Mapping in XI
Hi All,
I am facing error while activating a simple Message Mapping (Mapping which I have created using XIs graphical mapping tool). What I understood from the error log is that, even though we are doing the graphical mapping, internally XI is creating a java mapping program. And while activation its basically compiling the graphical mapping (internally a java program) and while compilation this java program we are getting the error.
we have XI 3 with SP17 version java 1.4.2_06 running
i have copied the part of default.trace file which has the error

There seems to be problem with J2EE Server. Please follow the following steps and it will resolve your error.
login to J2EE Visual aadmin ->cluster ->services ->.JMS connector ->runtime(Right side tab) ->check the factories / destinations (if anything is in red color X mark).
Fix it and restart the server.

Error when saving message mapping -
Just upgradedto PI 7.1. System details below....
Make Release NW07_08_REL SPS Number 08 JDK Version jdk15
Server Version SAP J2EE Engine 7.10.3710.43701.20090416112158
Java Runtime Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (version=5.1.034)
Java Virtual Machine SAP Java Server VM (version=5.1.034)
Operating System AIX (version=5.3, arch=ppc64)
I've been building an interface to test the developer tools and when I save my message mapping (it's a very simple graphical mapping) I get a java popup with the text 'Internal GUI error', I'm using Java WS Version 1.5.0 (build 1.5.0_19-b02) as per the PI documentation.
I recreated the problem timing each activity and saved the exception in a text file. I'm able to identify the relevant section of the exception biut it's meaningless to me. I searched SDN & OSS and I can't find any specific hits. Those that are similar (different SAP applications - WebDynPro for example) point towards incompatible s/w components - Java Run Time environment etc.... I've cleared the Java WS cache (Edit>Preferences>Delete Files) just to make sure, but the problem still occurs. I'm looking for advice. I've pasted some of the exception details below. I can provide more information but it's a pretty long file.

Error in Multi Message Mapping
Hi,
I am getting the following error in my multi message mapping scenario where I am trying to create 2 different output files from a single input file based on some condition. I tested the message mapping by using a test file and it works fine, but when I use the same file and test it end to end the scenario is failing with the following error.
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" standalone="yes" ?>

The scenario I am trying to test is a multi mapping scenario where I am trying to split one source message and create two target messages by using two different receiver interfaces, one for each message.
I am on PI 7.1 and when I test message mapping and operation mapping using the payload from SXMB_MONI, it is successful. Whereas when I test the scenario end to end I am getting the following error messages:

Could someone please help
Cheers,
