Runtime Exception in Message mapping transformation.

hi Experts,
i did IDOC(MATMAS05) to File scenario.
if i tested the mapping in IR (Test tab), its working fine.
but when i triggered the IDOC from SAP R/3 system, it reaches to SAP PI and showing Mapping falure in SXMB_Moni.
then i took the payload from the MONI, and tesed with this payload in Mapping test tab in IR.
there it is showing as java null pointer exception.
can anybody tell me what is the problem here?

Hi,
I think the required fields might not be occuring, if it occurs it might not have contianed any values thats the reason why message mapping is failing. For required fields you might have done some transformations which will not work if source required field has no values in it.
So kindly check and correct.

You need not fill all the fields, but atleast all required fields should be filled. I mean if you are mapping a field A from source to field B in the target and if the field B in the target is mandatory then you should fill field B with some value otherwise you will get a mapping error
Or check your user defined function error ...
Take the SXMB_MONI sourece xml and come back to MM test ..

Hi Experts,
I have a scenario of IDoc to <third party adapter> cXML.
The message caught the below error
RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation : Runtime exception during processing target field mapping ......./ShipTo[2]/Address/PostalAddress/DeliverTo (suppressed field). The message is: Exception:[java.lang.ArrayIndexOutOfBoundsException: 7] in class com.sap.xi.tf._M_IDOC_to_cXML_ method getShipToContact$[, , com.sap.aii.mappingtool.tf3.rt.Q2QFunctionWrapper@253fdd8a]
Please suggest on what went wrong, as everything is working fine before.

Please check if the source fields which are mapped to the target are all generated by the SAP Script and make sure that they have data so that when they are mapped to the target. If they are mapped and source fields don't have data then it may error out. Sometimes SAP Script might not generate a node if there is not data for it, make sure you handle that condition also.

The error shows that you are using business system and comm. channel in UDF for doing some processing. The error is because it is not able to locate the specified comm channel for the business sytem.
please check if the comm. channel name and business system names are spelled correctly. Also you can try refreshing the CPA cache/ XI cache.

Repeate Message after RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation

Hello Experts,
I have a mapping defined with a UDF. In the mapping editor the tests were successfull but in the reale world - of course not
Now I have a message in the Integration Server with red flag because of
com.sap.aii.utilxi.misc.api.BaseRuntimeException: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation: Runtime exception during processing target field mapping /LIST/S_UNB/S_UNH/G_SSG18/S_GID/C_C213/D_7224. The message is: Exception:[java.lang.NumberFormatException: For input string: "__cC_"]
I've located the error in the UDF and want to repeate the message with the new mapping. But again the same error although the test in the mapping tool (with the original payload) was successfull.
It must be possible to repeate those messages but how?

This was a little bit strange. But after the import, the version of the mapping in PROD was different from TEST.
I've changed the description Field of the Mapping in Test, activated the version and did the export/import again. Now the versions were the same and after repeating the message everything is o.k.

Message Mapping error: RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation

Being new to XI, I am struglling to sort out a basic mapping error. Appreciate if you could help out.
Its an File->XI->R/3 scenario.
My FCC successfully reads the File and creates an XML. However this XML is not transferred to the target XML structure which is exactly same except the root element name is different at top.
I tried various forum tips but I still am getting the error.
( When I Test the Message mapping in test mode..it seems fine, however if I copy the XML from SXMB_MONI, it then throws the above error)
I looked at the MM in text mode: below is the extract

Hi Prakasu,
As structure are exactly same, I have done 1:1 mapping. So all the fields in target structure are mapped, so no field has beeen left.
In this structure, I do not have any 1:n relation. So 1:1 mapping should be fine.
Apart from this could teher be any other reason.

Hi John,
1) Your problem is related to Message mapping only.
2) This type of error means in mapping you have context problem. Some where your context is mismatched for IRenvelope node.
3) Take your runtime xml and check directly in message mapping.
4) Your output instances for IRenvelope is more than its occurances.
5) Try by using RemoveContext function before your target node.

I have JDBC as sender and i am able to poll the data from the database,which is available in SXMB_MONI but its giving an error "RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation".I have tested the mapping in TEST and its working fine but when i tested the same in configuration its throwing an error in Interface mapping(<NOT FOUND>).
I have also created a node row in my sender data type.

Messages are failed and showing the "RuntimeException in Message-Mapping transformation:
Cannot produce target element "
The mapping logic applied is not able to produce the target element with the sorresponding Source payload.
Check if the payload (which you see in SXMB_MONI) is able to execute the mapping (Message/ Interface Mapping --> Test) successfully.

Runtime error in message mapping.

Hi experts.
My scenario is File --> PI --> File.
During the message mapping there are a few RFC lockups.
I have configured an communication component for the RFC destination, and a Receiver communication channel to the RFC system.
When I am trying to check the message mapping and the operation mapping from the integration builder every thing works just fine.
In the interface determination i have configured the rfc parameter for the mapping.
When I am trying to run the hole process i receive an error saying:"Runtime exception from: java.lang.nullPointerException:
null at com.sap.guid.GUID.parsHEXguid(guid.java:1015)

As i have already said when I am trying to test the same operation mapping directly in the integration builder with the same message, it passes the mapping without any exceptions.
I think the catch may be in the fact that there are a few rfc calls inside the graphical mapping.
Any suggestions?

I want to do the File content Conversion (FCC) only at the Receiver side.
My source file(Message Type) is XML which looks like as below:

The problem is solved...
Actually, the runtime system was not able to map the result set generated by the Sender JDBC adapter to the source structure of message mapping. This was because the result set has a particular structure and its like
 <resultset>
 <row>
 <column1>value1</column1>
 <column2>value2<column2>
 </row>
 </resultset>
To map this kind of structure to the source structure, a row element should always be there below the root node and the structure fields should be placed as sub elements to row. One more thing the root node of the source structure should be same as the document name specified in the sender JDBC adapter config.

Throwing Exception in Message mapping.

Hello,
I am using PI 7.0 and SP 16.
I have implemented this blog /people/alessandro.guarneri/blog/2006/01/26/throwing-smart-exceptions-in-xi-graphical-mapping . But when i was testing in Message Map it is showing the error but when i am testing an end to end scenario it is not showing any trace or error.
My trace level is 3. Also message status in moni is Scehdule for outbound processing.

Dear Hemanth,
I have implemented this in my scenario and it was working fine. Might be the condition you have given is not satisfied with the input XML values. Check the following things.
1. Did you import the .jar or .zip files with two java clsses (CustomMappingException, ExceptionThrower) under imported archives?
2. Did you give the package name under imports of UDF?
3. Check whether package names are same at all the places wherever mentioned in that blog.
If you do correctly these things it must work when the conditions satisfied.
Main thing is the mapping should go error with red flag in SXMB_MONI. Then only you can find the message in trace.
